The last part was more action packed, suspenseful, had twists and turns. In general, I liked the story and it was engaging.
The execution had some flaws, the plot had some farfetched moments and this part was in need of a great editing. It’s not possible to speak to a dead person on the phone. 🤨 Also, the heroine having been kidnapped three times was a little extravagant.
Since it was a debut, I let these issues slightly slide and enjoyed the rest of the story.
The excitement, danger and passion continues from the first book "Stones revenge". There is more feelings in play and Stone refuses to acknowledge Gia the way she wants and needs and her way to handle it all is quite fun. Her personality is really something else and her determination really shines through the book. I love that there are pages with Stones perspective as well, it gives more to the story and a better understanding for him and his thoughts.
In this book you get to follow Gia and Stones hunt on Antonio Rossi, their struggles with feelings they were not supposed to have and the end of their arrangement.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because there were some grammatical errors and in the end i think Emery Quinn missed something, because in one second Gia has her legs around Stones waist, but in the next her movements were as if she was standing on the floor.
But i really liked this book and will totally read it again, and i can recommend it to anyone looking for a dark romance. But there are triggers, keep in mind this is a book containing human trafficking as well as indications for rape.

Wow I was mesmerised reading this book it had me gripping the edge of my seat, this page turning toe curling enemy to lovers story by Emery Quinn. The characters were absolutely sensational with the two main characters are Stone Parlatore and Callista. Callista has changed her name to Gia she has had a rough time being kidnapped come to an agreement to marry for two years then she can have her life back and live with her mum in New York. Stone has his guys protecting Gia now since he kidnapped her and married her to protect her from a monster that her father promised her as soon as she turned eighteen. Can Stone protect her or will something happen to Gia.

Book 2 brings us right back in the middle of all of Gia and Stone's crazy world. It picks up right where book 1 left off. It's all over the place with adrenaline spikes and spice and thrills and fears. This series is a perfect duet. It has the best ending you can think of.
Now for a little bit of spoilers.
I loved the fact that even with all the romance and spice the big bad, cold hearted, Stone didn't need a child to make him realize that he was deserving of love and a happily ever after. This book and series make you realize that a strong, confident, feisty woman can be exactly what you need. Gia show Stone what love truly is by support and matching his energy. She didn't have to be weak, and need a baby to make her dreams come true. I absolutely love that!
When we left off in Book 1, I was mad. I get angry with cliffhangers, I understand them, but I hate them. I often don't read books until all of them have been published for that reason. This book was worth the wait. Sweet Retribution gives us Stone and Gia finding their way back to each other and finding love. There are twists, lots of them, I think the spice is pretty mild, and the HEA is sweet. I can forgive the cliffhanger because if this were one book, it would have been too long, and it is a complete story. I feel like taking anything out would have taken from the plot, so the author was correct in breaking the book into two parts. I am excited about this new author and adding them to my new favourite list; I can't wait to see what they do next.
I loved this duet. Gia and Stone. I loved her sassiness not taking his crap and breaking his walls down. I'm so glad the have a great love that's the best part now the thing I wished would of been seeing them more in love not hiding it. Open. He back with Maria and Stones guys cause they care about her too. Also I wished she would of found out she was pregnant after he left her. Just to cone back and find out. That would of been the best. Also and epilog. I haven't read many books that didn't have one. This didn't it surprised me. I would of like one of them a bit in the future with a child. But over all the author did an amazing job really. I will look up other stuff to read from her. Please enjoy this as much as I did.
This end to the author’s debut duet was amazing in not only the spice, but the storyline was truly superb! The book picked up right where Stone’s Revenge left off, with Gia in the hands of the enemy. Stone and his team quickly rescue her but the damage is done and he’s riddled with guilt. There's a ton of angst as Stone struggles to accept whether the is deserving of Gia and her love. Along with that amazingness, the books includes a ton of suspense and action to keep the reader engaged to the end! I can’t wait to see what she brings us next!.

Rocco and Gia. what a pair and especially what they both go into and what comes out of this relationship. Gia had a horrible start in the book and felt so bad for her but thankfully there was no harm to her body because that would have given me some tears and then would want Stone to destroy Gia's ex-fiance for sure. But i did like like the drama, suspense, romance, and the mafia intake in this duet book. Overall i liked it and gave me a final breathe-out moment for the couple!.

I enjoyed this read. It’s dark and action packed with a fast paced. This is the 2nd book of the Dark Italian Romance series with Stone’s Revenge being the first. This story follows a trail of revenge and the conclusion of Stone and Gia. I pretty much read this in one sitting. You need the read the books in order but you’ll get the most out it. I would have liked more but it’s a decent length, and I absolutely recommend.

This is the second and final book with Sloan getting his revenge for the murder of his mother and sister. He has married Gia to protect her from Antonio and get her help in stopping the human trafficking that her father and Antonio are involved with but their fake relationship has turned to real feelings as much as Sloan tries to deny his feelings Gia is all in if only Sloan would open his heart.

This is the second part of this duet and Stone and Gia’s story continues straight on from where the first part ended. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, intense, and intriguing, with enemies / lover’s romance, with revenge, suspense, danger, emotions, mystery, and love, which leads to a steamy and compelling page turner. Be aware of the trigger warning due to sensitive content! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4 1/2 stars A story that had plenty of dark and dangerous moments which increased my enjoyment. The story was entertaining, enjoyable and engaging. I especially loved how their relationship evolved. I loved how his attitude changed over time. Nicely done.

Really good enemies to lovers trophy. The build up to this relationship was perfect. The plot was engaged. Rocco (Stone) is a total stone cold softy that pisses you off and makes you swoon so many times. Gia isn't annoying, and strong FMC who suffers from PTSD and panic attacks which are represented beautifully.
out on September 12, 2022. contemporary romance fiction. contemporary romance (kindle store & books) got through my local library leaning program. i was looking to review this book ...didn't realize it was Emery ...was looking up Emily Quinn. oopies.. . gotta it now. fun read. new to me author. will read more soon.
Oh.My.Gosh 🖤😭 I completely fell in love with the second book! The whole book I was on the edge of my seat, sweating, and squealing with anxiety. And the ending! Ok, I was crying thinking he 10000% left her and was about to write a letter complaining but as always, you authors love to give us an anxiety 🤣
Some parts i was really into then other scenes I was thinking why is this being repeated?? Lots of repetition of “i don’t want to drag her down so i can’t be with her” which a girl can appreciate. Also gia being SO understanding which i can get behind but it felt like the author was the character??? 😭 this could have been wrapped up in one book
A fantastic conclusion to the duet. Deliciously dark and dangerous. Great character evolution, and storyline development. Plenty of twists and turns. Would recommend.

Loved the storyline. Well written. Gia's and Stone's chemistry well-matched. Yin & Yang. Sexual context not overly done nor vulgar. Adding to my list to be read again.☺
Absolute stunner of an ending to this Dark Mafia romance. I love Rocco and Gia and I'm really hoping to see more of this world with Marco, Tio , Lucca and Elena. 5 Star read.
