Rachael and Caelan have a wonderfully crafted love story that drew me in after I assumed it could not happen. Ms. Stigall is a very patient writer when it comes to setting up her story and taking the reader in unexpected directions. There was more passion, magic, and humor in this book than one would expect based on the description. Cealan is a 13th century Highland lord that is searching for his life mate -- he is not immortal or paranormal in any way. It is a part of his family makeup that they must find that one true soul that is meant for them. He sees Rachael in his dreams and seeks out to find her throughout Scotland to no avail. The keep's Druid, Emrys, finds the elusive Rachael in the future, 2007 to be exact by looking into his magical mirrors. He and Caelan go to the future and find Rachael struggling to keep her home and the lands left to her by her unloving parents. She is in Kentucky working as a crane operator when she realizes she is still not making ends meet. She decides to rent out the apartment above her garage, in comes Emrys and Cealan as renters. The catch for Cealan is that he can't throw her over his shoulder and carry her back in time, thus the title. He has seven moons to woe her and convince her to return to the past willingly. I initially thought novella because I did not see the writer having enough material for a full length novel but I was wrong. The relationship builds over time which is not something I am used to. It's an old fashion love story with very little magic, at first. Caelan has no magic what-so-ever, only smarts and a will of steel. Rachael has been emotionally and financially broken by her ex-husband and has committed to living an independent life. That's as much as I can say without going into spoilers. The love story is a journey full of joys and heartaches.

If you like a good romance with magical elements, try this book. I hope that Ms. Stigall is thinking of making this a series. There is certainly room for more love and magic. In case I did not state this clearly enough, there is plenty of magic before all is said and done. BTW -- this is a cheap read on Kindle.

It seems I am reading a lot of time travel and books with witches and druids! Maybe more a 4.5, it is one of Maeve Greyson's earlier books written under the name Deborah Stigall.

I enjoyed the book, but I am totally a sucker for the time travel and the Highlanders!

ok am I the only one who really didn't like this book ? that being said let me say their may be some spoilers in this rant. so it starts out ok , a little bit of magic, a big highlander hunk that wants his true love. then he finds out she is in the future and goes to get her . now I can deal with a bit of time traveling since its interesting . I even liked Rachel in the beginning. caleb is so sweet the way he acts twords her , then it starts to go down hill . Rachel just turns into this annoying oh I forgot I have so much power woman that I could have gone without . suddenly she remembers " ya know what I think grandma used to be a witch . I also think she tought me how to be one two . " really, you being a witch is something you forgot ? then they go back in time and she is freaking out about how she cant be their and how every one will think she is strange ., she goes on and on about it and this is before they even get to the keep . the she turns all powerful , she can melt metal with her eyes , is prego with triplets ( something that caleb freaks over because of the danger of giving birth in his time blah blah ) so Rachel decides to leave to have her babies ...... to some magical place with other witches or something. comes back and all three babies have powers. I know this review may not make a lot of sence , but that's because the book didn't either. its a waste of time and im really mad at myself for reading it . that I all ,,, thank u !

5***** if I could give it 10*s I would. What a great story. Time travel romance at its best. I don't want to say too much about the storyline because that would spoil it for you. Needless to say if a handsome highlander tells you he has come through nearly 700yrs and suffered tight jeans just because you are his soul mate , but you have to go back to his time. Don't waste time packing Go Go Go. I'm definitely going to read the rest of the series.

The story was sweet, but I was really annoyed with all the grammatical errors. The book needed editing. I wanted to just quit reading it at 80%, but kept on. I did enjoy the story though.
