Sierra I don't care how much he wants my business, he can't have it. My dad left me this company, and Nathan Silverstone can have it when he pries it from my cold, dead hand. Never mind his flirtatious green eyes and the way his ridiculously expensive suits fit his hard body like a glove. I pay no attention to the way those eyes scrutinize my every curve and edge when he stares at me with that sexy, infuriating grin from across the table during our meetings. I don't care how charming he tries to be, I'm stubborn and he's going to find out the hard way that I'm neither passive nor submissive, but I most certainly can be aggressive.
Nathan She was a one-time fling who occupied my evening and left me with amazing memories. Until she walks into my billion-dollar brewing company as one of our suppliers. Don’t mix business with pleasure my brother likes to remind me. Well, screw him. I’ll take all the pleasure Sierra Ford wants to give me. Opposites attract, they say. Wild red hair and cowboy boots must be my jam because it’s definitely working for me. Until my brother and cousin try to take Sierra’s company from her behind my back, and now I’m her enemy.
DENVER BILLIONAIRES SERIES Enemy Boss Rebel Boss (coming soon) Sinful Boss (coming soon)
Carolyn lives in Colorado with her husband, who’s delivered on his promise of a happily ever after, and their daughters, who spend their parents’ money like broke little best friends instead of teenagers.
When not writing, she can be found buying too many shoes, traveling, or dreaming about traveling. You can find out more at carolyndelaneyauthor.com.
So this book started off really good. I loved the initial chemistry between Nate and Sierra but then it started to go down hill for me. I didn’t like Nate at all. He was honestly such a snob. Like I get you like the finer things in life because you’re rich but he went about it the wrong way. Sierra was such a simple girl and all she wanted was simple things but he kept doing these extravagant things to impress her when she’s already said she didn’t want that.
It made me mad how when his ex came to his office he was thinking about how good she looked and about the memories they had and then he takes Sierra, his girlfriend, as his date to his ex girlfriends charity event!! Like wtf? Also it got annoying how much he got flirted with. Like we get it, he’s a hot commodity.
I absolutely hated Lincoln and Roman as well. Roman was the biggest manwhore and Lincoln was the biggest asshole. These men are in their 30s and decided that the best way to win Sierra back was to have Nate take another woman out to try and make her jealous and come back him? Honestly once that happened I wanted to DNF so bad but I was close to finishing.
And then he kept saying little things that pissed me off like how he was done trying to win her back and how she wasn’t as smart and he thought she was and then he was like I’m in the pissed off stage now, do I even want her back?! Like wtf!! I hated him so much.
The only part of this book I liked was Sierra. She was awesome!!
I will not be continuing with this series these guys are assholes.
NO CHEATING OW DRAMA NO OM DRAMA (because of course she doesn’t get flirted with only he does) THIRD ACT BREAK UP IMMATURE/ASSHOLE CHARACTERS
I enjoyed this story. It would've been more wholesome if the brother and cousin helped him instead of went against him. Like when they came to him about buying the farm and her stuff - and he said give her a chance. Especially when they knew they were in a relationship. They should've been like "okay what is it she is struggling with - let's call a meeting with her and let her know we can help her, buy her out, or let her go bankrupt then buy it for cheap give her a choice". Because of what the brother and cousin did, she would need to be able to forgive them too not jus the MMC. She will be in their family and have to see them all the time. It would be really awkward for me that they didn't care enough about me to help me or apologize even though they knew about the relationship.
How he went about getting her back worked, but I always had a hate/love relationship when any character male or female does this. Because on one hand, its emotional manipulation .. and you are setting out to actually hurt the person you claim to care about. But on the other hand, it lights a fire under their ass and has them finally make a dang choice.
So yeah, I really enjoyed their story. This is my first time reading something by this author. The writing style of it wasn't too bad. I always love split POV stories too. always a plus for me. One thing I did find REALLY weird was that she didn't meant his parents until like 3 seconds after he proposed to her. Like.... shouldn't meeting his parents come first THEN propose? lmao
IDK but it was a good read.
Spice 1/5 Humor 1/5 Emotional 2/5 World Building 3/5 Overall 3.5/5
This was my first read by this author but it was really good!!! Like spicy sweet good!
Although it’s really rare for me to do, I went into this one blind. Normally after reading the blurb, I’d read ALL the reviews on Amazon and then, if I still wasn’t TOTALLY positive, I’d go and read several from Goodreads too, just in case. (When I first started reading romance I’d read the last few pages every time to make sure I would like the ending before I would even start one.) But for whatever reason, this time I just started reading. At first, I wasn’t really sure how it was gonna go but I was falling in love with Nate right along with Sierra and then his brother and cousin went and pulled THEIR bone headed stunt and I was expecting him to rush in and be her knight in shining armor (and to be fair, he wanted to) but things didn’t work out quite that way. THEN I was wanting there to be some new ones torn :D but it didn’t turn out THAT way either 🤷♀️. Ultimately though, I was mostly satisfied with how it ended—would I have rather Sierra prevailed? Of course, but it is what it is I guess. She got her man and that’s what was most important. But just so there’s no confusion, the entire book was awesome but it was Mr. Silver Tongued Sweetheart that made it worth 5 stars!! Grab a copy today and read it for yourself!
I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
Enemy Boss is the first book in the Denver Billionaires series and a really enjoyed the story. The story unfolded as Sierra Ford struggles through life as a business owner after her dad passed away leaving her to run the business in the beer harvesting industry. Unfortunately this was based covid years so the business lost most of their customers and the business was failing fast. As Sierra struggled running the business, she meets Nathan Silverstone, the local billionaire who makes his money from buying failing businesses and running silver breweries. From the very first glance between the two, they had an instant connection and eventually that connection grey stronger. Lots of drama enfolds as they find each other again several months after a one-night stand. The story is well developed throughout and covers family and friendships, the heat between the two is lovely to see strengthen. I really enjoyed the teasing and banter between the two I found this point to be endearing, a fair amount of drama causing heartache, andvlike all stories gave a contrast of all the hearts and flowers. I enjoyed the story, so I definitely recommend.
Another book where the woman gives up everything and there is a lot of betrayal with easy apologies and quick acceptance. Sierra was determined to keep her father's business but Nathan (and his company) wanted to buy it. Even though he did not know his brother and cousin would offer Sierra to buy her company while he was out of town, he did know that this was the plan all along. He did not say anything to her. He felt betrayed by his brother and cousin for doing this while he was not around, but after a simple conversation with his assistant, he feels like he is in the wrong and apologizes to them. Sierra felt betrayed by him but forgives him because he did not know they would talk to her in his absence. The fact that he knew all along, and did not tell her, is apparently not a problem, while this is a bigger betrayal in my eyes. At the end, it turned out that Nathan’s cousin and Sierra’s best friend were conspiring behind their backs to one, get Sierra to sell her company and two, get the two back together and this is all fine. I hated how weak Sierra turns out to be (I don’t care that she decides to sell her company, but I don’t like the way she accepts the betrayal like it is nothing) and how Nathan puts business first, Sierra second.

There were a few grammatical issues, but otherwise the writing was not bad, and the flow was good.
Nate was likeable, Sierra not so much. By the end of the book I did not really know Sierra. The reason for her reluctance to sell the business was a major plotline in the story, but there was no real depth to her character - not much background was given. I felt that Nate's character was more developed.
Sierra's reason for not wanting to sell did not hold any water for me. Another reviewer mentioned that she was being selfish, and I have to agree. I also felt that - for someone who claimed to like being chased - she was too 'easy" at the start of her interactions with Nate.
Some of the dialog between Nate and Sierra came across as childish. The soppy proposal scene at the end was too mushy, but that's just me - I hate that most romance books end with the same contrived scenario; we're not in the 1950s where the big proposal is what all women crave for.
Enemy Boss is the first book in the Denver Billionaires series by Carolyn Delaney. The story unfolds as Sierra Ford struggles through life as a business owner in the beer harvesting industry. I will admit I am not too familiar at all with beer or the intricacies that are involved so I was a little confused on all of the workings but nonetheless, it was completely fine. As Sierra struggles to make ends meet and keep her business thriving, she meets Nathan Silverstone, the local billionaire who makes his money from buying out struggling businesses.
From the very first glance between the two, they were completely enthralled with one another and eventually couldn't resist. Everything unfolds to even more drama as they find each other again several months after a one-night stand. The story is well-paced and the spice between the two are heated but not too spicy or dominating in that sense. I really enjoyed the teasing and banter between the two lovers however I did expect more drama in the sense and heartache, but overall I enjoyed the story, so I definitely recommend.
I will admit that I gravitated toward the other billionaire, Roman, so I cannot wait to read his story next.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
There is nothing not to love about this book. It does tick quite a few boxes for me, especially the whole enemies trope, but honestly the standout for me was how well Sierra was written. I absolutely adored her. She was written in a way that not only could I empathize with her, I also found myself totally on her side either wanting to cheer her on or commiserate with her when things weren’t going so well. By the end of the book I was firmly in belief that Nate was lucky to have found her. In any other book Nate would be a favorite character for me, and he is everything I love to read about in my romance novels. But Sierra definitely stole the show in this story. Now I am quite confident in who I think will be the MMC in the next two books and I honestly don’t care who’s up first - I know I definitely want to read them. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book

I loved this. There is just something about a simple girl finding a billionaire that is dream-worthy. In this book, we meet Sierra. She took over her dad's grain farm after he passed. She is not very business savvy, but she tries her hardest to keep it going. Nate is part of a billion dollar business that takes over small business' and turns them around or sells them off. They meet, have a few drinks, they spend an awesome night together that changed them in more ways than they wanted to admit. I won't give anymore away, but I loved this story and highly recommend! I can't wait for the next book!💜
This was my first Carolyn Delaney's book, and I believe it was her debut novel, which is great! This is the first book in the Denver Billionaires Series. The story is set in the beautiful Colorado's scenery. Nathan/Nate and Sierra's second chance to love is sweet, and heartwarming. Nate is handsome, supportive, and caring. Sierra is beautiful, strong, and determined. They are opposites attract, and they share a sizzling chemistry. The supporting characters are great. I can't wait to know more about Nate's brothers, Lincoln and Roman. Looking forward to reading Rebel Boss, the next book in the series (Roman's story) #ARC #DSBookPromotions
This book was top notch. There were lots of page turners.
I really like how Carolyn captured my attention when I was reading the book.
And the characters sierra and nate relationship started by seeing and meeting at a funeral. Then attraction hits.
I loved how their story didn't have a love/hate relationship. It started with a one night stand then met again a few months later. And the whole time I was voting for them to work out and not fight. I don't want to spoil this book but seriously grab this book and read it. It's top notch.

This book is so good. I really enjoyed it a lot. Sierra is not the business savvy type at all. But when her father dies and leaves her the grain farm, she tries her hardest to make it work. Nate is part of a billion-dollar business. Nate and Sierra meet up for drinks one night and that's all both thought it would be, one night. However, months later their paths cross. I loved this book. I loved Sierra and Nate and couldn't help but cheer for them. This book is easy to read, flows perfectly, and will capture your heart.
Nathan (Nate) and Sierra have an incredible one night together and that’s all it was supposed to be, and then months later they see each other again in the most unexpected of places. This story was so wonderfully written and will draw you in after only a few pages and have you finishing in one sitting. I truly fell in love with Nate and Sierra and couldn’t help rooting for them from the start. A great read and one I enjoyed thoroughly. A definite must read.
This book checks all the boxes for me!! ❤️ Definitely a page turner! I’m hooked on book 1 of 3 and can’t wait to get the next book in the series. There is romance, beer brewing, millionaire hotties, Denver setting, the faithful friend and a dog!! Sierra and Nate make this book and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2 and 3 with Nate’s brother and cousin that own Silverstone brewing. Definitely recommend!!
If I told you I slowly savored this story, I would be lying because I deprived myself of sleep to finish this book. I got sucked in and I needed more. I really enjoyed this story. Nate and Sierra were a great match. It was a great storyline with just the right amount of steamy. I can’t wait for Roman’s story.
New author to me and I liked her style of writing. Wasn’t sure if Nate at first but he grew on me, Sierra I liked at first then she annoyed me with her dithering and prevarication but then got her backbone. Good read and liked supporting characters, looking forward to Lincs story.
Sierra & Nathan we’re attracted to each other immediately. But when they found out they would be working together, that should have put a stop to any romantic entanglements…but nope. And as expected, there was a lot of drama and things got messy. Fun characters and great epilogue.
I lost my heart and discovered a wonderful author. Enemy Boss takes the sensitive approach to a little naughty behavior. Sierra and Nate are a heartache you never saw coming, but are hopeless to do without. I couldn't help myself but fall into the sweetest expression of love.
Well written book that held my attention. I didn’t want to put it down. The story flowed and was easily readable. Didn’t get lost in the details but gave enough to paint a very vivid picture in my mind. Can’t wait for the the next one in the series!
Bravo! This book held me captive from start to finish. Talk about strong characters, Nate and Sierra were amazing. Sierra was the type of girl who you want on your side, to have your back, to be your BFF. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Loved Sierra and Nathan’s story. Just something swoon-worth about a modern day normal girl meeting her rich, Prince Charming!!! This book was soooo good and the first in a series. Can’t wait for the next one♥️♥️
The story between Sierra and Nathan is a steamy page turner that you just can’t put down! I started this book at 9am and just had to know what happened next! It was steamy, fun, exciting and all around rawr! Can’t wait to read the next one!
I have been in a serious book funk, but Sierra and Nate's story lifted me out of it. Their story was well worth and I felt like I was watching it as it was happening! I can't wait to read Romeo's and Lincoln's love stories.
There are literally no words to describe how I want an enemy boss like him! Enjoyed every second of this book. Oh my gosh, the smexy times totally make this book! I'm going to read the sequel right now and am salivating for the next book.
The book was fantastic from the author and it was hard to put the book down on reading . I loved it so much. The author was very great at writing the book. I hope others will read the books .
I hate the stories always end the same the women lose their businesses? Why is it that authors can't ever right a woman who can beat the guys? Can come back from being on the ground. SO sick of stories where they have to just come to turns and lose it?
I ended up speed reading/skipping through this book to get to the end. There wasn't enough tension for me to keep me interested, and the xxx scenes didn't hold much appeal as I couldn't seem to connect with the characters. It was definitely on the instalove spectrum, which I didn't love.
I enjoyed the book. It was a quick read. However, the ending was easy to predict, which made the finale somewhat uneventful. The book also needs a good proofreading.
The tension and stubbornness of Sierra reminded me of the Pride and Prejudice stubborn, emotional, Lizzy. Nate was a refreshing change, usually they're all like Roman. Who knew the beer business was so cutthroat? Probably Barley. They earned the HEA!
