About the author

Dan and Lucy Olson spend a lot of time with children—especially their own. Lucy works as a psychologist, and Dan helps kick-start new God-centered schools for children of the city with the Spreading Hope Network. He has illustrated three books for children, including The Girl Who Got Out of Bed. They serve in children’s ministry at church, and live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is their first book.

Great little parody of the Suess classic with the message of Bunyan rather than Suess. Very cleverly done!

Meant for children but I just wonder if the information is too over their heads. For example, "... You'll gain treasures in heaven by losing your life..." Deep concepts necessitates a target group of those above 5th grade (and not the pre-schoolers the book was given to in the christian school I received it from). I have to give credit to the illustrator, Craig Macintosh for incorporating diversity and various skin colors. Its unnerving to read a a book to a child where they are not represented well. Excellent illustrations- definitely Suess-like.
