The Last Nanny in Manhattan

Rate this book
Walker Cameron III might be one of the most feared men in Manhattan, but he’s no match for his six-year-old triplets. After exhausting all other options, Finley Marshall is the grumpy widower's last hope.

Luckily for the Camerons, Fin is a master of chaos and can calm even the most beastly of children. But Fin soon learns that the girls aren’t the problem; it’s their father. Still grieving and easily overwhelmed, Walker leaves the servants to cope with his little hellions. Fin wants to prove he’s the best nanny in the city and that his older brother, Reid, should start his own agency. Is Fin willing to risk life and limb to do it, though?

Afraid to lose the most competent caregiver to ever cross his threshold, Walker agrees to an unusual set of terms. He’ll give the girls more of his time and practice better parenting with Fin as his guide. But Walker finds himself with a new and unexpected problem. For the first time in years, he’s having very improper thoughts and can’t stop thinking about Fin. Can he keep his feelings to himself or will Walker fall for the last nanny in Manhattan willing to take on the cursed Camerons?

Sadly this was disappointing. I love K Sterling but this rom com here was almost ridiculous. The characters were so boring, so little intriguing and it was waaay too long for such an overused and simple plot, a plot that was like a cross between Sound of music, Nanny McPhee,Mary Poppins and a bit of Jane Eyre wanna be (without the tragedy or the interesting characters and kids ,of course). Here we have an OTT opulence, an MC who was supposed to be bad, grumpy and meany but he’s soft as butter (he’s only grumpy and useless with his daughters ) , we have a butler and footmen and snobbism and phrases like “unwashed and inferior masses” when referring to the ppl in the park, or “the three of you to do well in society and marry successfully when you're adults if you so choose." WHAT IS THIS? 19th century? Or phrases like “You have to dress nicely for the party, Fin , so you won’t embarrass us” said by a six years old Amelia. WTF ? Or that he can’t date his nanny because he will be a social pariah because of it (puhleeease, some rich gay couples have house boys and they don’t lose their “social status” lol ) . Also , I’m a straight married woman from a pretty homophobic country and I know what PrEP is and you tell me that a 48 years old gay man who lives in Manhattan never heard of PrEP before ? Next you’ll tell me he thinks HIV is a computer game 🙄
Also , the girls? Sorry but they weren’t cute and funny..They were rude, spoiled and had bad education or not at all I’d say and their father was indulging them like a spineless idiot (Oh, you set fire to the kitchen…Bad bad Amelia, give me a kiss and say you’ll tone it down a bit” . Charlotte stuck a crayon up Fin’s nose (just because) until he bled and everybody overlooked it , including Fin. No reprimand, no explaining that it was very wrong , that it could have hurt Fin badly ,nothing!! And she was 6 not 2 ! Where is a real Nanny McPhee when you need one? Everything was OTT and absurd and way too inverosímil (A few times I had to consider if this wasn’t a 19th century historical novel because it was so weird) .
Fin was bland and uninteresting and I didn’t care for him and Walker was a snob , a bad father and had no personality whatsoever. The author tells us he is a sharp businessman and a strict and cold bastard but there is not one moment in this book where he is like that. On the contrary… Also it was kind of insta lusty/lovey and I don’t know what brought them together apart form the close proximity and the girls.
The only thing I really enjoyed from this book was the sexy lingerie seduction . That was hottt!! The submissive “Good boy”-type part was meh and felt forced.
In conclusion, I got bored, it was too long, it wasn’t funny and I didn’t care for the characters. 3 stars because the writing is good , the cover is lovely and I love a man in lace lingerie.

Wow.
I have no words.

I was expecting something completely different. I was expecting a sweet, sexy age gap romance, but this turned out more like a historical romance happening in this era and gone very awkward.

🟣 Millionaire / nanny
🟡 Age gap - 22 years
🟢 Both MMCs gay
🔵 Rags to riches, sort of
🟠 Single dad
🟣 Dead husband
🟢 Lots of kids
🟡 Single dad is lost in this century, should've been living in the 1800's
🔵 A weak try of an upper class romance that would've worked more if it were presented as a historical romance (the author seems to have been extremely inspired by Pride and Prejudice)
🌶️ Spice was mediocre, quite alright, could've been better; both vers

So you're looking at this cover and thinking - yes, this is an older rich guy who's an experienced silver fox, has three kids to look after but he can't because he's so busy, but will fuck you senseless if you come work for him - because he's that good.

Well, you couldn't have been more wrong.

Walker is a 48 year old billionaire living in a Manhattan's enormous mansion with 3 little brats that he doesn't know how to raise. Before his husband died, Walker put all that responsibility on his shoulders, so naturally he's now lost, only working, having a butler preparing his clothes and staying well beyond the invisible borders of the elite neighbourhood he's living in, because, you know

"Even though the last thing in the world I'd ever want to do would be to venture out for a stroll amongst the unwashed and mediocre masses we're bound to encounter in a public park..."

Right.

When Fin, a 26 year old nanny goes to work for Walker, he puts his little brats in order pretty soon, but what filled these excruciating 300 pages of this book are countless pointless dialogues with the girls and Walker about absolutely... nothing.

I read it alright, thinking just let me get to the good part, let at least sex be amazing! Well, there was some sex, not nearly enough and it would be fine if Walker wasn't so weird about it.

Fin wasn't your typical 26 year old at all, he was wearing cardigans and talked like he lived a couple of centuries ago - but with the lace panties - right along with Walker.
They must've been neighbours. They walked straight out of that Pemberley, I'm telling you.

""I'd really like to taste you," Walker said as his fingers strummed Fin's hole. He raised a brow at Fin hopefully. Walker wasn't sure if rimming was still "cool" or if it had gone out of style, like body hair had in the 90s."

👀
👀👀

"Fin reached behind him to catch the cum before it leaked down his thigh. He moaned as he licked his fingers clean and found Walker staring in awe and confusion. "What?"

Walker laughed in disbelief. "You're a nanny!"

"Mmmm..." Fin agreed as he sucked on his thumb. "Nannies can be really naughty when they're off duty."

"I had no idea."

You're a nanny! You shouldn't be slurping cum!! You're dealing with kids for crying out loud! I had no idea nannies slurp cum. I'm just this insanely stupid 50 year old man who doesn't even know what to do with his own dick, much less yours!

So this would be Walker. Not your silver fox daddy extraordinaire, but this guy. Awkward as fuck, yes, you're right.

Bowing all the time.

"I apologize for calling so late in the evening, but I was hoping Mr. Marshall was in and available." He bowed his head and the younger man's hand clapped over his mouth.

-You're calling on Fin? Right, right I'll fetch him right away! Oh Fin? There's a gentleman here to see you, darling.
--The one who wants me to fuck him but is afraid to ask?
-Yes, yes, darling, that's the one, quite!

(I'm making this shit up but that's how ridiculous it was hahah 😂)

"I have no idea what an air fryer is or what it does but I'm sure it's much more interesting than the evening my assistant had planned."

Walker doesn't know what an air fryer is, because he's literally from the 1800's.

And Walker also has big problems when he's driving by us ordinary peasants in his limo.

"Walker was distracted by a pair of arguing pedestrians waiting for the crosswalk. His brow furrowed and his lips tightened with disgruntled confusion, an alien watching humans interact."

🟢 Now, the PrEP dilemma.

Walker is 48, gay and a widower. In America, not some god forsaken village cut off from the world.
So he's been a gay man for 48 years, right? Had a husband. Let's say he had some hook-ups before that.
So now explain to me how this guy doesn't know what the fuck PrEP is?

"I'm on PrEP, too," he added quietly. Walker's brows pulled together and he shook his head. "I don't know what that means but...good."

"Walker couldn't have asked for better lunch dates and was humming along with them as he took his phone out of his pocket and searched for 'Taking prep'. Walker's eyes flared and he tripped on the runner when he saw the results. Walker had never heard of PrEP and wasn't aware that there was a drug for preventing HIV. "Oh. ... I see."

What I found completely distasteful is portraying a 50 year old gay man (with money - so all access to healthcare and the internet) in 2022 in the middle of Manhattan having no fucking idea there was a drug preventing HIV.
You're honestly telling me you're fine with writing this down? Completely inappropriate.

So, when Fin and Walker decide they're going to stay together, because after a few hook-ups they naturally love each other and want to get married 🙄, there's a moral dilemma about what the people will say or think, you know, because it's the regency era and that sort of thing matters.

""Come on, Aggie. He isn't someone most people would consider appropriate for me."

"In what way? His age? His occupation? His social standing?"

"All the above, I believe," he replied."

The author was really binging on Pride and Prejudice while writing this, I'm positive.

Uhm, ok. I'm ashamed to admit I almost DNF this book a couple of times.
To be completely honest, I only picked it up because of the cover. It's so freaking cute, isn't it?
I'm not familiar with this author, but the writing was pretty good. However, the plot is a tad ridiculous. The main characters are a mess. The kids are awful and spoiled and did nothing to make me love them, on the contrary.
I'm a bit confused because some parts of the book made me feel uncomfortable. I don't know much about entitled, rich people, but these sucked.

I guess I just didn't resonate with this book, at all. Don't be fooled by the cute cover, though. There's spice in there. Pretty good spice, but I think the characters are horrendous. I'm sorry. 😳😐😣

DNF at 68% (enough to give it a rating) - It already feels like the story is over. They’ve professed their love and everything will be perfect because their focus is completely on the three girls and each other. Oh joy! 🙄

I’ve never read K Sterling before and this blurb had me looking forward to reading this book. I love age gap stories and here we have a couple with a 22 year age gap. Fin is 26, Walker is 48. I thought this would be ticking off all my boxes! Add in the “forbidden” aspect of nanny and employer and I was excited. Unfortunately, a lot of things didn’t work for me.

I didn’t care for Ms. Sterling’s writing. Sentences like this threw me off: He'd been a rambunctious child and Fin had spent several wild years in college but none of that had prepared him for his first day in The Killian House. This was Fin’s POV, so why did it state his name in the middle of the sentence? It happened again in Walker’s POV: His pupils dilated and he was absurdly pleased with himself as Walker replayed their conversation. That’s just weird and made me look back to try to figure out whose POV I was reading!

So much telling and not enough showing. He couldn't help but get excited at Cameron's progress and sometimes, Fin got excited excited. No one would believe Cameron was capable of the kind of tenderness and self-awareness Fin had witnessed in only a few weeks. Well, maybe Fin witnessed it but we didn’t! I felt like their entire relationship was based around Fin showing his panties to Walker at the end of the day, telling Walker he was a “good boy,” and then going home. "Weird that I've been working in this house for almost two months Really? Because this is at 25% and at that point we’ve not seen very much of his time that he’s been there. There were extensive scenes of Fin with his brother and their friends. I really didn’t care about any of that. It was boring.

This was said about Walker Cameron: He was richer than Croesus and rumored to be a terror as well. People were certainly terrified of him on Wall Street Again, we never get to witness any of this terrifying man who is supposed to be dominant out of the bedroom, yet submissive in it. Cameron came across as a wimpy guy who let his 6 year old girls run rough shod all over him.

Me as I was reading this: I can’t wait until they have sex!

Me when I got to the sex scene: puts book down in the middle of the scene because it’s boring and feels awkward.

I didn’t have it in me to read any more. Perhaps there’s some drama thrown in toward the end, maybe not. You know they get their HEA and I was just too bored with the story. It felt like it would be too much work to finish the last 32%. My TBR pile is too long to feel like that while reading.

I don’t think I’ll be picking up any more books by this author.

The way this book has me in a choke hold.

From the moment I found it and read the synopsis, I was hooked. I knew I had to read it PROMPTLY. Then the author provided me with an eARC a few days before release day and I DEVOUERED this story. Fin is immediately likable. Him and Riley and Reid and their gang of nannies are like their own little family and them alone was just so beautiful to witness. I seriously cannot wait for more NYC nannies!

Then come Walker and the girls. I thought I would hate Walker but being able to see his POV and get into his mind and feel his anguish as he mourns for his late husband melted my heart. The triplets were starved for attention and you could tell they all needed a lifeline. FIN TO THE RESCUE and thank goodness for Fin. From there, we all know what's about to happen. Fin and Walker fall for each other and the kids warm their way into the readers hearts. It was just so damn perfect. The author effortlessly depicted fabulously nuanced characters that you can't help but love and adore.

One of my favorite parts about this book is the way the sex scenes and conversations were handled. The author took great care in creating a safe sexual space for the characters to explore and talk about their likes and dislikes. The conversation about PrEP and condoms and getting tested was just *chef's kiss*!! There was no kinky shaming, in fact, it was celebrated!! And I just loved it all so much.

This book was so beautifully well done and if you love M/M romance novels THIS is the standard IMO. I loved it.

this was a nice little single dad story. easy breezy 3 star romance with no angst and a lot of cuteness without tooooo much fluff.

Fin is 26 and works as a nanny for the rich families of New York. he's a bit jaded by the circumstances, despite knowing his calling is to be with kids. rich parents hire him as a nanny and then schlep off, dusting their hands of parenting until the kids are old enough to be without a nanny and Fin is forced to move on. when he's fired by a family for being gay, Fin is understandably frustrated and discouraged. but his brother Reid, sets up another opportunity for him with Walker Cameron III.

Walker is a widowed 48yo with 6 year old triplets – all girls. since his late husband, Connor, passed, Walker has found it difficult to be the father his girls need. the girls don't make it easy either... after 12 nannies in 3 months, Walker is desperate for help and Fin answers his prayers.

the little terrorists set out to prank, harm, traumatize, and potentially maim Fin, in their quest to get attention from their dad. recognizing it for what it is, Fin immediately takes charge of the house and makes the little girls fall in line by making their daddy face his fears and learn to be a dad. Fin charms the household and Walker's appreciation for him grows far beyond that of an employer and his employee.

with the grief and the guilt of his husband still weighing on him, Walker struggles to give in to his attraction to Fin. but Fin catches onto Walker fairly quickly and with some well timed praise and a few choice pieces of lingerie, Fin has Walker all but crawling on his hands and knees for him like a dog. their sexual relationship is intrinsically tied to Walker's need for praise and reward, and Fin's desire to take care of the people he cares about. every time Walker leaves his comfort zone, confides in Fin, shows up for his girls, or makes himself vulnerable in any way really, Fin is there with a flash of lace and a welcome invitation to touch.

"Do you know why cupcakes are my favorite?" Fin asked. He kept it low, and just for Walker. Like the cupcake. Walker shook his head, but he couldn't pull his eyes away from Fin's. Fin swiped the pad of his pinkie through the pale butter-colored frosting and purred as he sucked it clean. "It's small and it's sweet and it's just for you. Instead of a whole slice on a plate, it's just a few bites and you can save it for whenever you're ready. And you don't have to share it with anyone."

when they both realize they've fallen in love with each other, the main struggle is deciding how to handle it with Walker being such an influential figure and Fin having close proximity to the girls. they initially try to keep it under wraps, saving their dalliances for when they're alone. but the girls are more aware than they're given credit for and when scheming with Fin to throw a surprise birthday party for their dad, they are also scheming against Fin, because they want the two men to be together and get married.

"I don't want the girls to hear! They've already got their hopes up but I told them there was no way I'd ever date Fin." "It's safe to say they don't believe you. I may have overheard a plot to get their daddy to propose to their new nanny. They know dad doth protest too much," Agnes warned.

just as Fin is deciding it's better to quit as their nanny so he can pursue the romance with Walker, Walker whistleblows their shit and announces to everyone he knows mid-party that he's in love with Fin. ta-da. everything else is just little details. HEA obv and the next books in the series will follow Fin's friends who work for Fin's brother, Reid, in his new nanny agency.

it was an easy reader, not much happening. it didn't grab and hold my interest so i could finish in one sitting, but it was alright. the spice was okay, there was no real banter or special love declarations. it was just alright and sometimes we need one of those x

This was amazing and I loved it so so much! I loved so many things about this book and I feel like there’s something for everyone to love within its pages! I will now provide a bulleted list of what’s included in this book:

•Single parent of three adorable and rowdy triplets after experiencing the loss of his husband and has been grieving his loss for a few years, not knowing how to move on or be a good father to his girls.
•A fun, compassionate, dedicated love interest (I love Fin so much) that helps Cameron begin to see through to the other side of his grief.
•Fin is truly the best dang nanny in Manhattan. He cares deeply for the girls and also aids in repairing their relationship with their father.
•Adorable triplets with strong and Individual personalities who love Fin and Cameron with their whole hearts.
•Dress up and nail painting scenes with other presh moments that’ll melt your heart 🥹
• Age gap- Cameron is a zaddy 🔥
•Beautifully vulnerable and raw emotional and physical intimacy.
•Steamy as heck y’all!
•Praise kink and lingerie wearing.
•lovable and supportive bestie and sibling rooting these two on.
•So much heart and love!!

I can’t wait to read the next one 🥰

Reading this book was quite an experience; I didn’t really know what to expect.
I enjoyed it a lot. I love Fin's personality; he is a well-rounded person, very determined in his goals and values, and I really like how well he connects with Walker.

Normally, I don't enjoy reading books where one of the love interests was previously with someone who passed away. I don't like it when they remarry, but thats a me problem. This was my attempt to push myself to change my perspective on these kinds of stories, and it worked. The way Walker talks about Connor was very beautiful.

One thing I would have liked is for the triplets to talk more about their father. We always see the conversations about the loss with Walker and Fin, but I don’t remember the girls giving their opinion. They are very happy about the new relationship and work together to bring them closer, but I needed a bit more about their memories of Connor.

I found it to be a light, quick, and enjoyable read. Also, the explicit scenes were very well-written. It has several tropes worth checking out before reading, they'rementionedin the beginning of the book. I would note that the book is somewhat kinky, and there’s age gap. Personally, this doesn’t bother me, but since the gap is quite large, proceed with caution.

I think the reason I didn’t give it 4 stars was because I’m not used to reading about my own job in a book, and it made me uncomfortable that I was reading certain dialogue and thinking, "Oh, this is a good way to handle that situation with the kids," but the entire scene was actually a steamy one. I really wasn’t expecting to read things I say to parents in such a context (but again, a me problem, it just took me off guard)

That said, I must admit that you can tell from the writing that the author knows what she’s talking about, and she reflects it in a very good way.

I have so much to say about this but I'm mostly annoyed that the last book that completed my readint challenge is probably the worst book I've read this year🙄 and is definitely the worst romance book I've ever read. Ew just ew.

What I hated about this book:

• The 22-years age gap between the two MCs
• Fin (the younger MC) getting turned on when Walker (the dad) is being a decent father to his daughters
• Walker being "rewarded" (via sex) by Fin when he's being a decent dad to the girls
• The conflicts that arised were unintentionally comical and, as someone else said, pretty weak and would get resolved immediately
• The writing was mediocre
• There was no actual build-up to their relationship; it was purely sexual attraction and their romantic attraction was told not shown, like they'd declare their love for each other but it's not shown on page.
• Also they went from 0 to 100 real quick, from being f*ck-buddies to wanting to GET MARRIED in the span of a few months of knowing each other?? And even we as readers don't know much about them, they're both pretty bland and it doesn't get beyond "they're both pretty hot, and one is always anxious and the other is more confident/brave"
• Did I mention the fact that Fin gets turned on whenever Walker does something cute/nice with his daughters? That pissed me off so much because like.. Walker's just doing the bare minimum most of the time and it's everyone else who has to take care of his kids for him

This was.... not good.
The writing is mediocre to bad. The characters are not very interesting or loveable even though Cameron had some moments.
I am a bit sorry I wasted time for this book.
But one star for the pretty cover art.

Walker, Prominent widowed father of three wild 6-year-old triplets, desperately needs a new nanny. Cue Finn, who is a master with children. I really enjoyed this one. I love books with children in them and all the girls were adorable ! I loved the intimate dynamic of Walker and Finns relationship. Finn knows Walker is still grieving his husband so he repeatedly lets Walker knows he sets the pace. Older and put together, Walker has a praise kink that is unlocked the first time Finn says "good boy" to him. Overall, an entertaining romance with rambunctious little girls, picnics, and bedtime routines, stolen kisses , steam, lacy underwear, praise, and romantic declarations.

I haven't read many mm books with the nanny trope, so when I saw that K was releasing not one, but an entire series about nannies rescuing families and falling in love with sexy helpless dads, I was SOLD. Especially with the very cute cover and the amazing art😍

Stepping into the life of the stupidly wealthy as a very qualified and competent nanny, Fin is in need of a family as much as Walker and is triplet hellions are in desperate need of a nanny! It's very serendipitous, right? Hell yes, and it slapped👏🏽😋

Walker is a grieving widower who is dreadfully afraid of his triplet daughters- he doesn't want to screw them up by spoiling them rotten, nor does he think he has the emotional intelligence his late husband did to adequately dote on them - so he does what any self respecting coward would, he hides! But then there's Fin...Sweet, bossy, attentive Fin who swoops in with his brilliant ideas and helpful suggestions and those damn lacey panties!

Fin was right when he described his attraction to Walker as dad porn😂 that's the only way to succinctly describe someone who melts for older men being a pushover for his kids, who's willing to TRY and who's openly vulnerable about needing help to do better for the sake of said kids!!! Walker is willing to be as real as he can if only for the sake of being Fin's VERY good boy😉😏

I just adored the build up of Walker and Fin's relationship! Fin took his sweet time making sure Walker was comfortable and that above all he felt safe enough to act on his desires. He didn't push and he understood that Walker needed to come to terms with feeling for another man after his late husband. Fin made it okay for him, educating the older man when necessary and always letting him know that it was alright to stop at any time💖 And I love how Fin doesn't tolerate Walker trying to run away from his wants and consistently puts him in his place when he's being an ass🙂

"Even though the last thing in the world I'd ever want to do would be to venture out for a stroll amongst the unwashed and mediocre masses we're bound to encounter in a public park..."
"Pretend you're a young child with a pure, imaginative soul, and not a jaded asshole," Fin suggested as he squinted at Walker in disapproval.
"I beg your pardon."
"You should. 'Unwashed and mediocre masses?'" Fin repeated and shook his head. "Don't say things like that around the girls. I want them to have friends," he added, tugging Walker's arm to get him moving.

This was a very sweet and tender read and I'm eager for the other books, but a certain big brother has got me VERY excited and I'll probably be pining away waiting for his book😩

I’m not sure if it is fair to suggest that K. Sterling’s books just get better and better. The reason is she has never published any story that does not hit its mark, namely, our hearts. As in Sterling’s other books (and series), The Last Nanny In Manhattan: Nannies of New York Book 1 involuntarily evokes fits of laughter and giggling (yes I giggle), a wee bit of sadness, and so much warm and fuzziness that I smiled for at least a day after reading. Actually, it is such a fun read that I have read it three times.

One reason I enjoy this author’s work so much is that you can feel the love and joy she has for writing. You can see it in her characters and how they interact with others. Her stories are always woven with delicate threads of hope. Threads so strong they are able to stand up to any drama written into the book.

The story begins with gazillionaire and NYC’s most grumpy dude ever, Walker Cameron. Can you even imagine, after having suffered an immeasurably tragic loss, trying to raise six-year-old TRIPLETS and at the same time run a billion dollar business? Triplets who are on a mission one way or another to make sure not a single nanny remains standing in NYC. Enter Finley Marshall. A man who excels at everything and absolutely refuses to cower before anyone…especially a father who just might be the reason the triplets are behaving like Patty McCormick in the 1956 movie classic, The Bad Seed.

You can imagine the absolute deliciousness of it all. Grumpy entitled rich and powerful dad vs. a sincerely good man who exudes sunshine peace and happiness without batting an eye. Yes indeed. It is a recipe for a story that is so much fun I keep rereading it. Yes, I have a life…It’s just that good. I am fairly certain this is going to be a series and I can’t wait for the next book. Please and thank you.

I’m only 26% of the way through this and I haven’t decided whether I’ll ever finish. The dialogue is kind of unbearable—everyone speaks in unnecessarily wordy paragraphs, and it feels like the author is scared of commas. It doesn’t feel realistic and everything feels very clunky and hard to follow; this is the first time I’ve read something from this author and they’re definitely one of those who seems like they’re saying a lot but are actually saying nothing at all. They also have this very odd and distracting habit of having characters speak aloud to themselves when they’re alone.

And I just don’t believe this version of Manhattan. You mean to tell be that there’s this much homophobia in one of the most progressive cities in the world in the year 2022? That nannies would be fired for being gay and everyone, including the nannies, would just accept it and be like “oh, rich people are just crazy like that?” Idk how stuff like this works with private contracts but that’s employment discrimination and a god damn Title IX violation.

Then I’ve got some big problems with the characters: So far, the triplets do not feel cute and adorable. I get that the author is going for “endearingly chaotic,” but they’re literally coming so close to seriously injuring people. They almost sent Fin into anaphylactic shock ffs. Then there’s the fact that Fin is half of Cameron’s age—I usually don’t have too much of a problem with an age difference if they’re both well into adulthood, but this is REALLY egregious. Finally, Fin and all of his friends just feel like caricatures to me. They haven’t really been given any personality traits yet other than being gay and good with kids. Idk man, I think I’m over this one.

DNF this was truly terrible. I don’t normally read manny tropes but thought I’d give this a try but quickly returned it.

The whole story felt unrealistic and the storylines shoehorned in.

Another one to add to the favorites shelf because I am LIVING for this nanny/Zaddy love story! Walker, our silver fox, is having a hard time retaining a nanny for his three mischievous, yet ADORABLE daughters following the death of his husband. Fin, looking for a new family to nanny for, throws his hat in the ring, and am I ever glad he did!

There is so much good to be said about this book! First one being Fin himself! I LOVE Fin. He's sassy, loving, dependable, and entirely too cute with kids! And while being the dream nanny Walker and his family wished for, Fin also brings so much joy and healing to the Cameron family. With his true priority being the girls. Everything else just became an added bonus, one that is entirely addictive to read! Fin will one moment be quelling the attitude of a 9 year old and put them to bed, and the next walk up in your study and tell you to BEND OVER. Talk about ICON.

I love the character development Walker underwent throughout this story! When we meet Walker, he is stuck. Forced to navigate life as a businessman as well as being a single father, following the death of his husband. When he decides to hire Fin, not only does life begin to flow easier, but he begins to discover life CAN move on following the death of your spouse. He experiences inner turmoils and rough patches along the way, but he ultimately discovers so much about himself. Pursuing things he never thought he would! All of a sudden he realizes he enjoys being submissive, he has a lingerie kink, he wants to try bottoming, all of which he never even considered. We love that journey for zaddy!

THE GIRLS!!! Omg I am so obsessed with them. They are brilliant, cunning little masterminds that give true sour patch kid REALNESS! One minute you've fallen into their carefully articulated trap, and the next you're cuddling up with them watching a movie with popcorn. Yet the cutest thing about these girls is their desire to simply see their dad happy. Their deviant behavior was simply due to them missing their interactions and relationship with their dad. Now that Fin has mended that disconnect, they are truly the most thoughtful, loving daughters. And their moments with Walker and Fin just made me feel entirely content!

I love the exposure this book brings to navigating life following the passing of a spouse. As someone who lost their dad, I witnessed so much of that journey for my mom and the trials and heartbreak they experience. It's difficult. And getting to a point where you can attempt this thing called life again is daunting and arduous. But necessary. And shedding light on that experience is refreshing for me to see.

Y'all...she's STEAMY! She had me SWEATING. Thank gawd for Fin because he brought the absolute SMUT to Walker's life, and it's to ALL of our benefit. Ok I realize I'm capitalizing a lot but it's because WE'RE HERE FOR THE SEX!

This was such a cute, unique and fun read. I love the concept that follows the story… an agency for queer nanny’s in manhattan. I’m already strongly involved in their found family and this is just book one!
I do wish the story was written in first person pov because I’m finding it hard to really connect and would’ve definitely rated it higher! But it’s okay though cause I’m intrigued enough and can’t wait to binge the remaining books!

Too long and as always in the first in a series too many characters!

The book honestly was a third too long. We get it! Kit is cute, fun, and free, and Walker is up tight!

This is not a "will, they won't they" type book it more of a they will again, and again and again type book!

Fun yes!

Boring in parts, yes!

Sweet yes!

Very much 3 stars...

The Last Nanny in Manhattan

This is a new to me author and I wasn’t disappointed. - I lie, I have read this author before just didn’t realise it.

Really well developed characters with a lot of depth and real life feelings. Unique side characters who I hope we see more of with their own books. Hopefully Reid next. The triplets are cute chaos gremlins. This book does deal with death.

DNF - 66%

I tried really hard to like this book. The beginning was very good and I enjoyed the dynamics of the MCs as they were testing the waters of each other. However, I didn’t really feel much connection between the MCs once they actually started getting together.

There was too much going on in this book. Walker getting over his grief with Connor and Walker learning how to interact with his children took up so much of the conversation that the romance and intimacy of the MCs wasn’t really there. Outside of the first encounter where Walker got off on the panties and Fin saw Walker working out shirtless, nothing really connected with me.

Fin just seemed like a super human that could do no wrong and knew how to navigate every situation perfectly. He didn’t seem like a real character at all. We so often only saw Walker in the household bubble that he just felt like a bumbling adolescent and not this intimidating Wall Street exec that he’s supposed to be.

Let’s not even start with the ridiculous class differences of the two MCs and how Walker reacted after the walk in the park. However, Fin had no backbone and immediately caved to Walker for sex.

Also, wtf was that section describing how Walker makes his money (helping the guy hide money from his wife and kids)? We’re just supposed to be okay with that and say, oh that’s just the rich doing rich people things? What a scudsball.

Pues me divertí mucho, amé el páinco de Walker y lo peculiar de Fin, me hubiese gustado ver mas dialogos con las niñas pero en general amé la dinamica, me interesa mucho el caso de Agnes, 10/10.
