Take a trip to Compass Cove, an enchanted town full of magic and mayhem…

Zora Wick isn’t sleeping well, and when a new string of magical murders starts happening across town her insomnia only gets worse. How can someone drown in a room without water? There’s new dark magic in town, and no one knows the answers.

To make matters more complicated the elusive family matriarch, Grandmother Liza, has turned up with a list of magical ingredients that need finding for an important ritual. The task already seems complicated and dangerous, and then Zora does some digging and comes to a Liza is lying about something, but what?

There’s also a surprise new addition to the family coven, one that comes with teenage trouble and a classic adolescent temper. Zora’s about to find out that being the adult in the room isn’t as easy as it looks. There’s only one thing sassier than a talking cat, and that’s a teenage girl.

And as always there’s plenty more to keep her rendezvousing with her criminally insane father, a treasure hunt chock full of mind-bending clues, and finding out how to deal with wild centaurs without being abducted and made into a bride.

Of course, there’s bakery to run too, but with shocking secrets waiting to be discovered it’s just a drop in the ocean. And just who the heck is Alonso Rhubarb anyway?

This ebook needs to be proofread before selling. Seriously! I really like the story line, it is clever, fun plots and great to relax. I would have given five stars, however, the E-books are really messed up. I spend a good amount of time reporting typo errors and bad sentence use (words mixed in wrong order). I am not sure who translates or types the text from the books, but there is a drastic need for a reviewer that has the english language well known as the tense of words, spelling and just overall quality of an ebook should be proofread which in this Compass Cove cozy mysteries has not been. This is the 7th book in the series and I am stopping because I feel I am having to work to stop at each mispelled/out of context or just wrong word is shown in the ebook. I would say no less than 5 per chapter. Seriously, this is bad especially when you pay for it. FYI. If you are OCD like I am, and demand quality in the things you purchase, buy the book and read it NOT THE EBOOK. FYI

Chaos in Motion . . .

Zora Wick threw a party to celebrate passing her witching exams. Her bakery is doing well. Hudson and she had lived together for 8 weeks and so far it was going well also. With her mother having at last moved out and finding her own place, Zora’s life was settling down… maybe. The dark witches who had been after her, led by a dark wizard who was actually her real father, had been stopped by the combined efforts of her friends. Her father was now trapped in a demonic Pandora Box and was hopefully under permanent lock key by a group that kept those things out of circulation. However, she was still not sleeping well and everyone could see that.

Zora got a call from Blake and they headed out to check on an outbreak of magical murders. Where has this new dark magic come from? And that isn’t even all of the troubles coming Zora’s way. Can she handle all of this? And what kind of ritual is Grandmother Liza preparing that she needs to send everyone out to find strange ingredients she insists she will need for their Moon Meeting? Is she hiding something?

Everyone has family problems now and then, but our heroine seems to have more than her share. Add in some black magic and trying to run a business and our heroine definitely has her hands full.

This is book seven of the series, but it does just fine as a standalone. No prior reading is required.

This is a cozy witch mystery with a bakery as the centerpiece. The story is well written, easy to read with a great setting filled with mystery and intrigue. The characters are well done and certainly provide some interesting variety within the story. The mystery is good, with enough twists to it to keep you going up until the end. I loved the zany bits throughout the story as they add a nice touch of humor. Overall, another very fun read and I look forward to more in this series.

Highly recommended.

again another great mystery. my favorite so far. Hermes rocks!

I love reading about Zora and Hermes. This was another great story. I don’t like to give away what’s happening in a review so I’ll leave it at what a great and unexpected mystery it was this time. Great work. And there was more Hermes, cam never get enough of him. My only favor- The books are great but, geez, got to edit better. Too many typos. Please have a beta reader read and catch before it’s published (I would sign up to be a beta reader). Very distracting from the story and Hermes deserves better as do all us readers who use the our time we have to read. thank you! Can’t wait to read next book!

Riveting story

Characters believable and well developed. Plenty of twists and turns in the plot, a touch of romance. Please, please, please do a better job of editing. Still improper use of "someone and I" versus "someone and me", referring to items indoors being on the ground rather than the floor. Missing words cause some confusion. " Wondering" used when it obviously should be "wandering". Seem like minor issues but detract from story line. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

Insomnia is the worst!

I haven’t quite figured out where the chocolate comes into the story, but what a great way to go! Unfortunately, it seems that sleep can kill a person. Or maybe nightmares? Or biggest fear? Well, whatever it is, the book is great! I really like having Harley around more. The more snark and sarcasm, the better and funnier the story, and Harley has a boatload! Plus she’s pretty darn smart, too. Loved the book!

Zora struggles with insomnia as an unexpectedly relatively quiet period of magical dangers ensues.

is she just discovering a new talent or sever, or are there also darker forces and bad actors at work?

more than one secret is challenged and revealed

and another is brought to light as more treachery is uncovered

magical mayhem, humor and insights.

Not so full of twists and turns

I love Zora's story but there was something missing until the end. I guessed the identity of the murderer long before it u folded in the story for the first time. However the two twists at the end were absolutely fantastic. Hence the usual 5 stars. Roll on book 8.

Proofread?

Love the story but the typos are awful. These are proofread, right? I do love this series and have enjoyed reading them.

This series is fun with interesting characters and twists. However, with each book, the errors are increasing. Please do some proofreading. It is becoming very annoying.
