I could not believe my eyes, I compared the basic quilting instructions in this book and in Get Creative and they are identical. Even the pictures are the same. Why should we be expected to buy her books if they are carbon copies of each other.

I bought this book early in my quilting endeavor when I needed patterns to use on my fat quarter collection. Even though I do not like the colorways chosen ( not enough value contrast) I like the patterns used. The directions call for fat quarters but if you examine the pictures of the quilt they look like they used yardage instead of fat quarters. Of the two quilts I made from this book... mine were scrappier looking.

What is important in a book is not the colorway used but the accuracy of the patterns. I found the patterns using the fat quarters were wasteful in how they were cut. I think using strip piecing would have been a better way to make the patches for some of the blocks. But then that would not have used up my fat quarter stash.

I liked the stories but was annoyed with the duplication of instructions.
