*Arc Review*

Aaaand we have another great book written by Silvia.
Enemies/haters to lovers? Yes obviously I had to read this one.
Not going to lie I thought the start was kind of slow because some events of the first book were a little repeated. But once the book got past this point it was just wonderful.
Rhys and TJ were perfect. The characters were well described and I just loooved their chemistry.
Silvia accomplished to convey their love and feelings for each other sooo good. I loved Rhys and TJ🥹

The plot itself was intriguing, more than full of action and developed generally very well.

So all in all this was a really nice and enjoyable book. Definitely worth reading.
Can’t wait for Rogue’s story.

Oh boy, this was so freaking good.
I am a huge sucker for 'enemies' (in quotations because they're not really enemies) to lovers and Rhys and T.J were incredible together. God, the chemistry and the banter were everything.

I can't wait for Rogue's and Ghost's story.

4.25 stars. Oh, I love me some good enemies to lovers read, this one was good!

The Texas Safehouse is a Ranch, a place where you get protection and can hide, it serves protection for the people on the wrong side of the law. Grant and his two brothers twins Rhys and Rogue are running the place.

TJ is an assassin, he’s the son of a mafia boss. His father’s orders are to stay low at Texas Safehouse. Something is going on within the family business and it’s not safe for TJ.

One eye on TJ and Rhys knows he’s trouble, the man is way too hot. Not only hot but extremely irritating, he hates his guts already.

TJ is getting crazy, standing on the sideline and not being able to do something. The only distraction he got is to torture Rhys, the man hates him, but it’s so much fun to play him.

Rhys has a dark secret no one knows about, could he ever trust TJ and tell him?
Two strong-headed men. Fighting for the upper hand. Both men with hard shells, almost impenetrable, there’s a lot of hate sex, scorching af.

The unsure circumstances were wonderfully portrayed. Until the end, it wasn’t clear what the outcome would be.
There are more layers in this story than in the previous one. TJ’s situation was complicated and their relationship ditto. The chemistry between TJ and Rhys was tantalizing.
The writing was consistent and captivating. If you love enemies-to-lovers stories with rough, tough guys, who aren’t afraid of the devil, with dirty mouths, the same mouths which can do amazing things to the other, this series is for you.

Can’t wait for Rogue’s story!

The Reaper was sooo freakin good!! This is the second book in the Texas Safehouse series. Three brothers finding love in the wilds of Texas. The Reaper is an enemies to lovers, pulse pounding exciting thrill ride. TJ is an assassin for his mob father. He is sent to Texas to Paradise Ranch keep him safe. Rhys and his brothers run the safehouse and is a former military sniper. He is used to rules and order and TJ does not fit into that mold in Rhys’s mind. They take hate s3x to a whole another level, hot and steamy, pure spice! Great premise, cannot wait for Rogue’s story! I freakin adored TJ!! Overall, a fantastic read!! Well written with fast pacing that sucked me right in!!

This book is a good blend of danger, intrigue, family, and passion. Rhys is one of the twins who is a brother to Grant from Bk 1. Rhys is enjoying spending time with his brothers and getting back to horses. He's also a highly trained ex-military person who is experienced with killing when necessary in combat. Rhys also carries a guilty secret that no one knows. He isn't thrilled that Paradise Ranch also is serving as a private safe house for several people with mafia affiliations, including TJ, a skilled assassin who only kills the bad guys for his family. TJ's father, head of the mafia family, has sent TJ to the ranch for safety when things become too heated at home.

Rhys takes an immediate dislike to TJ. In fact, he hates him when he's not busy lusting after him. Sparks fly, but can all of the animosity be turned to positive feelings for each other? This book has a ton of hot encounters, hate sex, and eventual strong love. The timeline is interesting because it partially overlaps with Bk 1, but from the perspective of these MCs. There is also a lot of excitement from the danger that lurks all around. I'm looking forward to Bk 3.

Silvia Violet's 'Mafia' novels are my go to mafia comfort reads. I know the characters will be well-rounded and well written as well as her plots. She's had some endearing characters in the Marchesi family novels.
This particular novel fell flat in the plot department however. The characters themselves were the only thing pushing me to finish this novel. I do love the twins connection and TJ's persistence in pursuing Rhys. There seemed to be a piece of back-story missing that made me feel like his motivation could have been stronger. Maybe it was the hurry-up and wait factor. There's something that I can't put my finger on that left these characters floundering for me. Also, the steamy scenes - Silvia Violet knows how to write a steamy scene - and the rough steamy scenes were no exception in this novel.
Despite all of this, I will still be reading the next in the series because I am invested in these characters and this world that Silvia has built.

An enemies-to-lovers mafia book between Rhys and T.J. Both men have similar backgrounds they are trained killers and they have deep ties to the mafia. T.J. is sent to the safehouse ranch to be protected by Grant and his men after there is a threat to his family and his life. Rhys is a soft-spoken man but loves his horses and these two butt heads the moment they meet, even though you can see the attraction between them. They both have issues and once they get to know one another they start a relationship. The book is funny, witty, action-packed, and romantic, and Silvia Violet didn't disappoint with this book. I'm looking forward to Rogue's and Ghost's story.

blaaaaaaaah....... ugh

the beginning was aiming for a 3-3.5 stars but then idk what happened.. they became a couple or something and i just lost interested. both characters idk i liked the hatred at the beginning between them, then they started messing around and felt blah about it lol....

i think this is a sign i might be done with Silvia Violet.. these last few books i have read have been busts and i can't continue to think that she will change... soo i am saying enough is enough and i will stop with these juvenile characters..

I'm not sure what I think of The Reaper. It basically kept my attention, I listened to the audio book, but the guys are just so hyper-masculine, they're not my people. A lot of angry fucking. Michael Dean is perfect as the narrator for this audiobook because when I've listened to him narrate before, he tends toward a lot of intensity, same here. That suits these guys. Not a bad book, I might give another one in the series a try, but I didn't love it either. Middle of the road.

This is my 4th Silva Violet series and, in every single one of them, book 2 has been my absolute favourite!!!

Loved Rhys, loved TJ (since book 1) and I loved the way they were with each other. They fell fast, hard and against their judgement and it was perfect!!

Book 3, here I come!!

I really enjoyed reading this second book in the series about Rhys and TJ. Rhys is one of three brothers running Paradise Ranch and protecting criminals in need like TJ, a mafia assassin. The story grabs you from the start with action scenes that really draw you in and give you background on both Rhys and TJ. Right away you get to know what makes each one tick and understand a little about their personalities.

The beginning of the book runs concurrently with the story of the first book in the series...Grant and Jacob's story, and it's better if you read their story first to feel more connected to the characters and to understand the references. The book revisits things that happened in first book but this time from Rhys and TJ's pov.

At first TJ is attracted to Rhys physically but saw him as a challenge to conquer because although Rhys was attracted to TJ too, he didn't let it show. He didn't want to get involved with a mafia assassin after his childhood experiences with his father's line of work.
There was a lot of tension between them at first in the form of lust and anger (anger mostly on Rhys' side). They have a love hate relationship.

Once Rhys and TJ can't resist each other anymore, the story between them really flows. Add in the tension of TJ's mob related problems and this is a wonderful story of two souls connecting and making a place for themselves in their world. The angst between them quickly turns into an almost sweet love story.

Characters from the first book add to the interesting plot twist, and we get a chance to see who the next book in the series will be about. This was a great story, and I'm looking forward to the next book.

The Reaper is the second book in the Texas Safehouse series by Silvia Violet. Although it is a stand-alone novel, I would definitely recommend reading The Renegade first. Not only because it is a great book but it is where we are introduced to Rhys and TJ. One of the things I liked best about The Reaper is, that we were able to see some of the scenes from The Renegade in a completely different perspective. This allowed you to see the characters, especially TJ, in a whole new light.
Paradise Ranch is a safehouse for people who need protection and people who are willing to pay a lot for protection. TJ is sent there by his mafia boss father to lay low while he straightens out family business. TJ doesn’t want to be at the ranch and doesn’t do well with idle time. To fill that time, he has taken to agitating Rhys every chance he gets.
Rhys is a former marine who just wants to be a horse rancher. He doesn’t want to run a safe house for criminals and he wants to bury his past. Rhys is a still river that runs very deep and his character is nicely developed in this book. He is attracted to TJ but fights his desire every step of the way.
Rhys and TJ coming together was established in the first book in this series. The path that leads them to their HEA is in this book. The backstories for the characters are interesting and explain a lot about how they behave in the book. I enjoyed this story and I am definitely looking forward to Rogue’s book. I feel like there are some lose ends that could have been tied up with a couple more chapters in the book. I am hoping Violet wraps them up in the next book.
I received an ARC for my honest review.

Thank you for arc read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. There is just so much to unpack in this story, the chemistry we witnessed in Renegade, now we get TJ and Rhys story!

A split second meeting and he could tell the twins apart, Rogue was eating that up! The killer, Tj hits all his buttons, Rhys and his brother have to protect..that was if he didn't stubble a pitchfork into him first. Avoiding was working out so well as, Tj is more then he first thought from the arrogance that rolled off him in waves. With that arrogance came the manhandleing his body craved, only opening that door to anything other the bed play was a devastating impact Rhys was couldn't seem to avoid.

After being sent to hide away, Sitting still waiting was the hard on the part but taking that shot was easy peasy for Reaper. Now he was having to sit and wait for his traitorous family to hit. Finding out what his cousin was up to is like a side mission to the trouble that was brewing at the safe house. Rhys was making the chase all the more challenging for TJ. What happened when the all clear come, was there even a futureat the ranch for him or will TJ return to his life his father laid out. OMG I can't wait for the next installment because these brothers are getting deeper in the feels.

I have read every book in this shared world that Silvia Violet has created and each one is amazing. TJ and Rhys did not disappoint me at all. They both have pretty strong feelings towards the other. Those feels are a lot of hate in the beginning but also a lot of attraction.

TJ just knows he and Rhys would have incredible chemistry in bed, but he still doesn’t like Rhys that much. Rhys judges TJ from the very beginning, and TJ is tired of Rhys acting like he’s better than him.

Rhys does not like anyone connected to the mob. He may be attracted to TJ but he doesn’t plan on ever acting on the attraction. TJ is a criminal and Rhys doesn’t want to have any connection to the mob again.

Both men are struggling with personal secrets and that makes each of them feel a little more vulnerable. After dancing around each other they both use drinking as an excuse to act on their intense attraction. Once they get together they just can’t deny how much they want each other. I love the progress of their feelings and the strong connection that develops.

This story was the perfect balance of steam, romance and action. I can’t wait for Rogue and Ghost to get their story next.

I did receive a free ARC of this book but that did not influence my review.

This is the second book in the Texas Safehouse series but the first book that I have read. I was able to enjoy it without having read the previous book. This is the story of Rhys and TJ. Rhys is one of three brothers who run the ranch that provides protection to people who can't go the police. Rhys is an ex sniper who wants to follow his dream of breeding horses. While he doesn't completely agree with providing protection to "bad guys" he is 100% committed to helping his brothers and their business. TJ is a product of his environment. He is an assassin and first rate sniper. His father is running one of the mob families. But there is trouble in the family. TJ is shipped off to the ranch by his father for his supposed protection. With his current skillset, he doesn't believe he needs any help. Both Rhys and TJ have very strong personalities. As well as total awareness of each other. The sparks fly from their first meeting. The fire between them just continues to grow. This is their story. I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and easy to read. And for those looking for it, the heat is off the charts between these two. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Rhys was a marine and now works at his brother's ranch raising horses but there is one catch - the ranch is also a safehouse for men the police would never protect. TJ is their first client and although he is hot he is also a mafia assassin who doesn't take no for an answer easily. Rhys has a problem because TJ is the last man on earth he wants to desire but also the only one he longs for. His self-control holds until he snaps and they have angry hate sex. However, there is a fine line between love and have and TJ is not the man Rhys thought he was he can't fight what he feels for him but the danger that sent him to the ranch is growing and he needs to make a decision - fight for him or accept that they were never meant to be?

These two men had explosive chemistry that was off the charts. In the initial phases it was all hate behind the sex but as it went on it became love and hate before it changed to love. I enjoyed the mystery as to why he was sent to the ranch and the dramas that came from that. There was some emotional stuff to work through for both men and it was nice to be able to experience that. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

I absolutely freaking loved this latest book in the Texas Safehouse series!!! Rhys hates everything that TJ is. TJ is a mafia hitman and is arrogant as all get out. TJ gets a thrill aggravating Rhys at every turn. All Rhys wants to do is to be a horse rancher and just live his life as peacefully as possible. He doesn't want to help criminals by running a safe house for them and he certainly doesn't want to spend any amount of time with TJ. Rhys has worked so hard to bury his past and seeing TJ and what he has done is making it hard for Rhys to stay focused. As they say there is a fine line between love and hate. Rhys hates TJ but can't deny that he is insanely attracted to the man. Rhys fights the attraction but one night gives into the feelings that TJ gives him. When TJ's past comes back to haunt him, can Rhys and TJ work together to fight the threat that's looming around the corner. I loved everything about their book. I laughed, cried and swooned during the hot steamy moments. Such a great story and I am even more excited for Rebel's story next. Well done!!!!

This new series is on a horse ranch & it's a safe house. It's interlocked with 3 other series (The Marchesi Family,Vigilance & The Theriot Family). I found it easier to read in order, and characters & stories are all woven together. 📚
Rhys & TJ, Rhys is a twin & younger brother to Grant. The story continues on the ranch & we learn more of TJ loads of action, love & spice! 🤠❤️🌶️

Hoo-boy these guys were on fire!

I love Silvia Violet’s books and really enjoyed the first book of this series so it was no surprise to me that I enjoyed The Reaper. These guys though did surprise me with just how hot they were. Wow. The heat between Rhys and TJ was off the charts and despite their initial… antipathy, they were clearly going to be an amazing couple. I’m not a big fan of temporal overlaps and the beginning of this book does go back a bit in time; that being said, it wasn’t repetitious as you got a different view point. Personally, it wasn’t my favourite part but that’s definitely a me problem haha. Once we got up to speed though I was 100% loving it. The plot was done really well as you got the building relationship between Rhys and TJ, more information on why TJ even needed to go to the safe house and action along the way. I’m certainly looking forward to the next book in the series!

Two men with dissimilar yet similar backgrounds. Rhys was a Marine sniper b/f he and his brothers Grant and Rogue founded Paradise Ranch, TX as a haven for those the Mob had put out contracts on. Along comes TJ, a hit man of mob connections that TJ's father sent to Paradise Ranch for protection against what is believed to be enemies of the father's FAMILY business. But here's where the situation becomes something more. You see, at first sight, TJ and Rhys experience insta-attraction that oozes with steaming sexual tension. while TJ is the tease of these two men Rhys fights the lure TJ offers. Ms. Violet builds this to a stunning climax of brotherly love, a pairing of the perfectly matched TJ and Rhys, a father who accepts TJ, Rhys' acceptance of his traumatic dealing with the brothers' own father, and a lead-in to Book #3 for Rogue. All these elements are wrapped around a great read. I had the pleasure of voluntarily reading this book.

I am really loving this series! TJ was so intriguing in the last book, so I was excited to get more of his story. I loved how the first couple of chapters gave a peek at the same events from The Renegade but from a whole new point of view, it was well done. I loved all the tension between Rhys and TJ and especially Rhys’s futile attempts at resisting his attraction to mob assassin, TJ. The story is really engaging, lots of great twists and danger as we learn more about TJ and his family’s reasons for sending him to the safehouse. Rhys and TJ are super hot together, they have electric chemistry right from the start. They also brought their own unique brand of sweetness to the dynamic which added depth to their developing relationship. This series is great fun, I loved this couple!

Reading Grants story, I didn't necessarily like Rhys as it just seemed like he had a stick up his xxx. In this particular story, I felt that way at certain points. However, I could see why he was the way he was. NOW TJ was FIRE. I didn't expect it but I fell for him from the beginning. He definitely has character. The story is more of a slow burn and at times, I found myself hoping for something to happen. I didn't necessarily like the skip forward of certain parts in the beginning; but, I know what happened as I read Grant and Jacob story first.

All in all, I say if you like the first story and you like slow burns, you will enjoy this story.

Now I definitely can't wait for Rogue story. He is the one I have found intriguing since the very beginning. He has a background and story that I cannot wait to read.

Wow!!!What a wild ride with Rhys and TJ and worth it. I wasn't sure about TJ from the first story but he had so many sides to his character and you really understood him and grow to admire him. And Rhys with his loathing for mobsters and killers though his hands are not so clean and his gradual learning what made TJ tick and how they can't keep their hands off each other. One hate fuck and they can't stop and so many hot scenes with those two. It was interesting that TJ's aunt was the one who gave him the info he needed to head his traitorous cousin off after he had kidnapped his younger brother. I loved how everyone worked together to thwart him and not sorry at all that he ended his rotten life. And thrilled that TJ decided to stay on the ranch instead of going back to Chicago. Now to read about Rogue and Ghost.

4.5 Stars!

I devoured this book! Rhys and TJ definitely had some tension going on in the first book, but I think you could easily read this one as a standalone. Rhys wants nothing to do with the assassin that they are supposed to be protecting, but TJ is bored and loves the attitude that Rhys gives off. I loved the push and pull between these two. I liked that both Rhys and TJ started opening up to each other about things they normally kept under wraps. Rhys has a lot that he's holding onto, things I wasn't expecting. TJ is amazingly observant as well as good at what he does. I liked that TJ found a way to be with Rhys and that Rhys finally owned up to their relationship with his brothers and friends. This book was hot and had plenty of action as well. Rhys's twin brother Rogue was a blast and a troublemaker. I can't wait for his book to come out.

Who doesn't like hate sex?? Well reading book 2 in this series has it and more. TJ...aka The Reaper is deadly and oh so sexy...Rhys...ex marine special forces... aka horse whisperer, can't help but be attracted but he hates it...let me tell ya...these two together are explosive...their animosity in the first book flowed on into the second...non stop banter...non stop battle of wills. This was a fun, HOT and extremely entertaining read of enemies to lovers along with a little action/violence that kept this a true page turner all the way to the end. Extremely HOT guys who love each with a passion that's filthy but sexy that had me fanning myself...it was a no brainer for me...LOL...can't wait to read Rogue's story next.

Silvia has done it again!

This book rocks! Silvia has created yet another fantastic series and this chapter is all about TJ and Rhys. One is a mob assassin and the other is a marine turned rancher. Rhys and his brothers use their ranch to protect people like TJ. When the two meet, it’s fireworks and head butting and a lot of tension too. I love the way the two banter back and forth and when they finally give in to each other, their chemistry is off the charts. The way their relationship changes as the story develops and the way Rhys and his brothers step up when TJ needs them most is absolutely phenomenal! I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

🌈Mafia Assassin
🌈Former Marine, Current Cowboy

We met TJ and Rhys in book one of the Texas Safehouse series and you could cut the tension between these two with a knife. TJ’s dad send him here to be protected, Rhys isn’t thrilled, he’s not a fan that TJ is an assassin. But in true enemies to lovers fashion that hatred only goes so far. We got some murder, kidnapping, close call and a HEA.

🌈Something I didn’t know was hot but now is: when a hot af mafia assassin refers to him as “his twin”

🌈Something I didn’t know I loved until I read it in MM: the twin connection and bond between two characters- they can feel that somethings wrong with the other, they know what the others saying, their protectiveness. Ugh soo sweet!

In need of his own protection, mob assassin, TJ is sent to the safe house which Rhys and his brothers run.
Rhys was looking for a quieter life after his time in the marines, but TJ comes into his life and stirs up his everyday routine.
With an undeniable attraction between them and a clash of wills it’s only a matter of time before they give in to the explosive chemistry that is simmering between them.

This second book in this series is an action packed read filled with an enemies to lovers vibe, engaging characters, passionate scenes and a gripping storyline.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
