Legend is a tale of guts and glory that grips your heart, tugging it every step of the way. This is not just a story but an escape where you dive in, head first, immersing yourself into this brilliant and beautiful book. Legend bleeds into your world, becoming one with you.

Legend consumed me from the very first page; I was all in. Fingers trembling while gripping the book or ereader. Heart pumping. Body shaking. Bated breathing. Eyes tearing. Mouth smiling. Legend, like the rest of Katy Evans' raw and rousing Real series, is an adrenaline rush of a read. I felt…Hypnotized. Possessed. Alive.

I wanted to devour Legend. I wanted to savor it and Maverick. I wanted to hurry. I wanted to take my time. I wanted to be transported to another world…I was. Legend occupied my heart and head. I was at the Underground. I was at Remy and Brooke's house. I was at the hotel. I was at the park. Legend crept in my head and heart, recklessly and relentlessly, and never left.

Just 10% in and the emotions are pouring off the pages and drowning my heart. The feels, like a fighter on the mat, pound from the pages to me. Searing my soul. Brandishing my brain. Harnessing my heart. I tear up early and often, as the words are powerful punches to my heart, full of feels that flutter to my soul.

I read Legend with anticipation and a little anxiety. Could I fall for another fighter who could be Remy’s enemy and possibly fight him in the ring? At 15% into the book, my answer is: Maybe.

Maverick Cage. Stunning. Black hair. Steel gray eyes. Tall. Muscular. A hoodie and low-slung sweat pants. The muscular V. Panty-melting hot. Dangerous. Intense. Untamed. Beautiful and broken. Maverick has a bit of a dark past. Abandoned by his father, a boxer, Maverick is out to prove his worth in and out of the ring. His value.

“He was, like a predator, paying attention to his surroundings without alerting his prey.”

I don't want to like Maverick…but I do.

Maverick is desperate to fight…it’s in his blood. If only a coach would pick him up so he could rock The Underground where Remy is the undefeated King.

At a gym, he meets Reese Dumas, Brooke’s younger cousin. She is has an hour-glass pin-up figure and is blonde, blue-eyed, and beautiful. Like Maverick, she is reserved and communicates with few words.

“He looks at me, so deep, I feel found.”

Their chemistry is insta-hot. Electric. Palpable.

“His gaze feels so probing all of a sudden, he looks at me as if he’s been waiting for me for a long time. I feel like I too have been waiting for him for a long time.”

Reese links Maverick with a retired and alcoholic coach, Oz. The only man to open the coaching door to Maverick, it’s an instant match. The rookie fighter and the fallen coach. Two dark souls meet with a goal to get to the Underground---one’s almighty return and the other’s virgin voyage. Both men want to prove their value and get to The Underground’s final round: The Ultimate Championship.

Maverick “The Avenger” Cage. Dark. Fearless. Unstoppable.

“Now live up to the name. Let’s bring some excitement around her. Show them what happens when two nobodies pair up---two nobodies against the world.”
"Hey, we’re not nobodies. We’re somebodies. Everyone’s somebody.”
“Somebody’s not enough. Let’s be the champions.”

A fighter in the ring, Maverick ‘The Avenger’ Cage battles his way…match by match, blood, sweat, and tears…to fight the ultimate champion: Remy ‘Riptide’ Tate.

“If I withstand ten fighters next fight, I can get to him. Face-to-face. I get to fight him. I get to see exactly what he’s made of. Hell, I get to see what I’m made of.”

Out of the ring, the gloves are off and his heart beats for a new obsession he can’t shake: Reese Dumas.

“My mind goes in all directions but it ends up in the same place: her. Her watching me fight. Her in a nice room with me. On a nice bed. And me, kissing her in a very un-nice way. Hearing her make noises that are the opposite of nice. And I still think of that nice girl who doesn’t want to be nice. A girl who wants to be unforgettable and doesn’t realize, she already is.”

My body heats. My heart breaks as Maverick finds his way through, penetrating my soul. Maverick is slowly building up a love for him that rivals Remy’s. I don’t like it. I do.

Reese is reserved. She’s never had a boyfriend. Never fit in. Never felt understood…until Maverick.

“I never thought there was another human who could be quiet enough that I feel like he can hear me. I never thought anyone else could help find the switch but me.”

They are kindred spirits. One light, one dark. One soft, one hard. Their chemistry is palpable.

“And then his eyes find me. And I’m found. And alive.”

In finding herself, she found Maverick.

My tears, which have welled up in my eyes nearly the whole time reading Legend, fall harder.

“He takes me in for the tensest second, and then he drinks me in with one rake of his eyes over my body. My breasts feel his gaze. So does my sex. And my tummy. And my heart….I’m possessed by my happiness. I’m possessed by him."

These words…gah! I cry. I swoon. I’m awe-struck in the beauty bleeding off of the pages that carve out a part of my heart with each line.

Maverick. This big and strong man is menacing---a lion in the ring but a pussy cat with Reese.
They are each other's air. Each other’s hope. Each other’s salvation.

Maverick "The Avenger" Cage climbs his way up, fight by fight, to the Ultimate Championship where he will face Remy. Riptide or the Avenger---who will Reese choose? Can she pick a side?

“Reese. And it dawns to me. She is with them.”

Hearts may break.

“Loss. You can’t lose shit you don’t have. I feel like I just lost a fight I didn’t even know I fought. And I lost it to Tate.”

My heart crushes for Maverick. How can I love Remy's enemy too?

A fighter may fall. Love may turn into loss. Only one will be left standing at the end and be the Ultimate Champion in the ring and of the heart.

“All it takes is a match to light a fire, and He. Is. The. Match.”

LEGEND is over. Tears are still flowing. Like a death, I feel an utter loss. This is it. The end. Legend marks the end of the Real stories that felt so damn real with real smiles, real laughs, real anger, and real tears. Like tears, the feels are still flowing after the ending too. Legend is my fire that makes me feel alive as the powerful words, like a match, strike a spark straight to my soul. This breathtaking beautiful story is about love, loss, hope, and a painful past that threatens to strike like a fighter lays out an opponent in the ring.

Magic. Legend is magical with a fierce and fire-hot force than takes and takes and takes. Takes your heart. Takes your soul. Takes you on a beautiful book adventure you never want to end. It’s almost a drunk feeling. Drunk on this beautiful and brilliant book.

Like a Monet painting where each stroke of a brush makes beautiful art, each word penned by Katy Evans makes a breathtakingly beautiful and brilliant masterpiece. One of my absolute favorite authors with a heart of gold that, like Midas, turns her perfectly penned words into gold and has brought her ‘A Game’ out to play in Legend.

LEGEND. The perfect ending to this favorite fighting series' legacy. Powerful like punches in the ring. Gut-grabbing like the fight. Soul-searing and heart-wrenching like loved ones feel watching their fighter. Pure perfection. A beloved LEGEND that will remain one of my all-time favorite series. Simply legendary.

4.5-4.75 Stars...With an added note for all my homies trying to steal my man...

So this is going to be short (in theory...because sometimes when homie gets going, homie rambles...) because, whelp, I'm just not in a reviewing mood today.

It's the beginning of my work week tonight and I'm feeling pissy about it, quite frankly. Plus I just roasted some brussel sprouts...

description

...So my whole house smells like crap with a side of swamp ass.

Not a conducive environment for stellar review conjuring, if ya know what I'm sayin'.

But anystank.

Let me get something straight before we jump into anything:

REMINGTON TATE IS MINE.

Yup, that's right. He is in my top five book HUSBANDS of all time.

With all his uber athletic swagger, abs of fucking steel, wipe-the-floor-with-any-man abilities, and general overall manliness?

I would lick the sweat off his strip sack, homies.

And his constant need to scent Brooke like a goddamn feral animal?

description

I.

Fucking.

Dig.

It.

So back the fuck off my man, ladies.

description

Edited to add...For all my ladies in the comments section telling me I have a fight on my hands for Remy...I say this:

Homie is a former collegiate athlete.
Homie works the fuck out.
Homie is ca-RAZY.
Homie will slay thee.

description

With that said, I didn't think there was ANY man in a fighter book who could ever BEGIN to compare to my beloved Remy.

description

But then Maverick Cage walked in...

description

And I discovered that - sometimes - perfection can be emulated.

description

I really enjoyed this book.

I found myself struggling a little bit with some of the math in regards to the ages of the characters and how they could actually be related to the people they were supposedly related to (keeping this vague to avoid spoilers)...

But then I remembered that math and I don't get along.

description

And that I don't actually give a fuck anyway.

description

Like I said though, I really loved this.

I really liked Maverick and Reese, and I REALLY liked being able to catch up with my husband Remy and Brooke (I allow her to borrow him from time to time, because I'm a giver like that).

I was also VERY impressed with how Katy Evans navigated the end of the story. Let's just say she put herself in a rock/hard place kind of position that could have gone SUPER sideways. And I really dug how she handled it.

Cannot lie, I did want to smack Reese in the face sometimes, but Remy and Maverick's relationship pretty much outshone any of the issues I had.

At the end of this, Evans states that this will be the last of the Real Series.

And while that gives me huge case of the sadz, it's also awesome to see a series go out on a high note, which this book definitely was in my opinion.

So thanks, Katy Evans.

Thanks for not pulling a Christine Feehan and dragging a flagging series into the 20th book range like a necrophiliac serial killer with a dead body.

description

We all appreciate it <3

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

This finally comes out tomorrow...

description

...and the fact that I'm actually gonna pay SEVEN whole DOLLARS and 99 CENTS for this bad boy?

description

...It better be fucking awesome!

What can I say about this book that hasn't been already said by others? Not much.

I expected it to be great, I mean we're talking about Katy Evans here. But this book topped my high expectations.

I can't believe it's the end of the series. I'm not a crier. I mean I do cry but rarely. And I bawled my eyes out today (it wasn't pretty). I cried sad and happy tears with my heart full of love for these characters. And you won't stay totally indifferent either if you love Remy and you enjoyed the first two books in this series.

This series wrecked me and ruined it me for all other books....

...and it will stay in my heart forever.

Reese is Brooke’s cousin and has come to stay with the Tate’s for the fight season. She is there to help out with Racer, but also to work on herself. Reese has always struggled with her self-esteem and feeling like she belongs. Maverick is fighting to belong now, to prove himself. Reese and Maverick meet at the gym and form a connection. Their connection is quick and I believe it’s because they can see a piece of each other in the other.

Maverick is a fighter, but most of his fighting isn’t in the ring, it’s in his head. He is fighting to show his parents he is more. He wants his dad to find him worthy and wants his mom to know he can be better than his father. My heart immediately felt for Maverick and I fell quickly for him. He is this giant of a man and rough around the edges, but his heart is in the right place.

Reese isn’t what I expected at all. I knew from the beginning she had a low self-esteem and wanted to work on herself this summer. However, when I really learned the depth of her issues I was sold on her, too. I had so much empathy for Reese and just wanted her to find happiness.

I love how this story was a beautiful love story between Reese and Maverick. I could feel their connection and I loved that their feelings were genuine and ran deep. The fact that they could see more in each other and inspire the other made me so freaking happy.

What I didn’t expect was the bond between Maverick and Tate. It really just cemented my love for Remington Tate. The fact that Maverick was open to his guidance made fall even more. Their moments together put a huge smile on my face. I felt like it was a full circle moment for the series when Tate reached out to Maverick.

Legend is action packed and a beautiful love story. I loved the devotion and faith they had in each other. I love you can feel their love and connection while reading. It’s bittersweet to see this series end, but I absolutely love the ending Evans delivered.

Side note: Little Racer is just so damn cute!

5+ 'Lucky penny' Stars!
 photo Legend - Katy Evans_zpsbxg20am4.png

I still can believe this novel is the last one in this amazing series. It feels like yesterday that we meet and fell in love with Remy! Maybe that's why I waited a little bit to read this, because I wasn't prepared.. But, what a wonderful journey this book was!

Legend is the sixth and last installment in the Real series by the author Katy Evans and it tells the story of Maverick 'The Avenger' Cage (a new fighter in the Underground who is not accepted for being what he is, he wants to fight and to win and he finds the force to become a legend when he meets the heroine) and Reese Dumas (the cousin of Remy's wife Brooke, a young woman who needs a purpose after suffering an unexpected event and who finally becomes who she wants to be when she falls in love with Maverick).

His gaze feels so probing all of a sudden; he looks at me as if he’s been waiting for me for a long time. I feel like I too have been waiting for him for a long time.

Why he’s a stranger and feels so familiar too? Why he makes me so aware? Of him? And me, my body? My heartbeat, my breath, my... sex! He hijacks everything.

There is nothing I did not like about this book. I loved everything in Legend! It is an amazing love story of two young people who have suffered quite a lot and when they meet each other the sparks cannot be stopped. I loved Maverick and Reese. I loved Maverick's strong will, how he works hard to get what he wants: to demonstrate he is a legend. I loved his relationship with Oz and his strange friendship with Remy. Katy did so well with that, transforming Remy into Maverick's mentor. I am in love with this author's characters!

“I can relate with the monsters inside. Mine’s in my head. Yours is in your blood. Don’t let it win.”

Guess I’m not emotionally stunted after all. Guess it just takes a second to realize what stares you in the face, slamming you like a punch in the gut.
She wanted a friend in me. I’ll be her friend, but I want so much more.
“You see her,” I whisper to Oz, and he frowns and nods. “That’s her. That’s my girl.”

Obviously, what I loved the most was the love story. The building of Maverick and Reese's relationship is incredible. It's like they find each other in the dark and come back together in the light. They are both such strong characters and when they are together it gets even better! The chemistry is off-the-charts amazing and super-hot! OH MY GOD, the sexual tension! And the sex scenes! So freaking hot.

I feel drunk. I’m a puddle in his arms.
His lips curl a little when I can’t move, and he takes my wrists to wrap them around his neck. “You don’t dance, Reese?” he teases me huskily. “You put one hand here”—he settles it on the back of his neck—“the other one here”—he settles that one on the back of his neck too. “You let me pull you close.” He does. Until our bodies are flush and I can feel him and I’m alive. And he whispers in my ear, “And you move with me.”

“I love you hard.”
“Mmm. How hard?”
“This. Hard.” Driving deeper. Faster.

I loved that dancing scene!! I could not get enought of these two.. They are so perfect together! And also, I really enjoyed having moments with the other characters like Racer who is like the cutest little boy, Remy and Brooke (Remy will forever be one of my faves and these two are still so good together!) and Oz as well (he is Mav's trainer and he has a great friendship with him). But still, of course, the best part in Legend is Maverick: I want him for my birthday! Such an amazing character.

“You’re a shot of pure fucking heaven in my veins.”

Therefore, my rating for Legend is my special 6 STARS because this novel totally deserves it! It was an amazing book and a fantastic way to finish the Real series. It really is a bittersweet feeling to end a series that you enjoyed a lot! I will miss these characters! But I am sure Katy Evans will give us many other ones. So, if you have read this series or if you haven't please do it, you will not regret it! I highly highly recommend :)

Reese and Maverick are both haunted by their pasts, but while Reese is healing and trying to move on from it, Maverick is still set on revenge.
When Reese decides to start anew she moves to her cousin’s house, Brooke and her husband Remy to babysit their son while Remy gets ready for his last championship.
And then she meets Maverick and they immediately get attracted to each other, but Mavericks past and motivations may be the reason they will before even before they have a real chance to start.

This book was undeniably a very good action to this series, that I’m sad to see ending. But I guess it’s better to stop while you’re high than to make a 35 books series that no one will even remember most of them anyway. Remy will always be my favorite fighter, and this series will remain as one of my favorites. Katy Evan can write romances built on amazing sexual tension like no one’s business and this one was the prove of it.
I loved see the progression of their lives and how Maverick’s and Remy’s relationship grew. I’m just sad that since this is the last book, I would love a more prolonged epilogue. Anyway, if you haven’t started this series yet… what the heck are you waiting for?

Characters Development: Let’s be clear: Remy will always be my man, but Maverick came to a close second. I loved how possessive he was of Reese and so sweet at the same time. Reese was nice as well and I loved her interaction with Remy and Brooke. Little Racer stole the show, he was just the most adorable kid ever.

All I can say is
description

I've been waiting for this final book for so long and now that it's out, I'm so happy that we get such an amazing ending to this series. I even shred a tear ot two, not kidding. The whole plot is fantastic and there was surprisingly very low drama, which I liked very much. Also, there was not one character that I found annoying or dislikeable and that's saying a lot! Honestly, my heart broke and mended so many times, while reading Reese and Maverick's story and I loved every second of it.

description

It's safe to say I feel in love with Maverick immediately. I didn't care who his father was, because all I could see was a young man, who only wanted this one chance to become something great. Everybody judged him, without even knowing him and I was so happy he found Reese, a girl who knew nothing about him, except wanting to help him. And she did, she really did! I don't want to even imagine where Maverick would be without her (and she without him).

description

Gosh, watching those two lost souls finally finding each other was so beautiful and although I'm so sad for the series to be over, I'm really grateful about how it ended. A fantastic ending to an even more fantastic series. Katy Evans, WELL DONE!!!

Legend was a powerful, heart-wrenching, beautiful well-written story.

This book grabbed me from page one and refused to let go until I read the last word. I knew even before finishing the first chapter that this story would undoubtedly end up becoming another instant favorite of mine.

Maverick “The Avenger” Cage is a sexy, black hair fighter with steel gray eyes, eyes that pierces, like knives. He desperately craves to fight in the Underground MMA circuit, and his future opponent is the ultimate and undefeated Champion, the ONE and ONLY Remington “Riptide” Tate. Mav has something to prove… that he is more than his father who was known as a pure evil incarnate, the most despicable, and the most loathed fighter in history. Mav is the son of Tate’s greatest enemy. Mav wants to see what he’s made of, a chance to prove to himself that he’s got more than his father ever did. Mav wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring.

Reese Dumas is Brooke’s young cousin. She’s a quiet, shy and beautiful girl. She’s constantly struggling with her self-image thinking that she has a Himalayan butt. She’s also desperately in need to be understood and to be loved. She wants to be unforgettable.

The love story between Reese and Maverick was beautiful and unforgettable. They were perfect together, so alike. I loved how the story progressed and developed.

What I love most when I read one of Katy Evan’s books is the emotion you can feel through the smallest little things, a simple glance or just a kiss, you feel it deeply. This author has a unique talent of completely immersing you in her world with her descriptive storytelling and enthralling words, to let you feel their every thoughts and their every emotional struggles.
This is so much more than just a love story—this is a story of true love, a story of human endurance, of courage, a quest for a better self, and the pursuit of happiness.

Legend is the last installment of the AMAZING Real series and a must read. This book will make you feel the realness of a true love story that will keep you captive until the very last word.

★★★ 3 Stars ★★★

Maverick “the Avenger” Cage is the new fighter in town wanting in on the Underground fighting scene, he is a force to be reckoned with, but because of his family connections, nobody wants to take him on to train.

Nineteen year old Reece Dumas is spending the summer trying to find herself, working full time as a nanny for her cousin Brooke and husband Remy Tate, the current champion of the Underground.

Whilst trying to work out what it is she wants in life, and who she really is as a person, Reece falls for the quiet and brooding fighter, who seems so forbidden and off limits.

For the most part, I enjoyed this book, but I felt like the writing was a bit stilted, and it just didn't flow right for me like the other books in this series. Also, things were left unexplained, for example her friend Miles comes to visit and but disappears without a mention half way through their night out, never to be spoken of again. Another thing that bothered me was Brooke - I assume she was working with Remy all day whilst Reese was looking after little Racer, but it wasn't actually spoken of and to me it felt like something was missing from the overall story.

It was a slow burn, and not a whole lot happens, Maverick and Reece are not exactly big on dialogue, but it was a steady read with likeable characters.

What I appreciated most, was the quiet and sweet relationship between Maverick and Reece, it was almost juvenile in a way, they were like a pair of teens, but it worked for me because it was so genuine and cute.

"You have the world's prettiest face,
One the prettiest body. With the prettiest smile. And a voice I think of when it's all quiet."

Whilst this wasn't my favourite book in the series, it ended on a great note and I was very pleased with the outcome.

Legend is part of an overall series, each book focusing on different characters. Told in dual POV.

One..Two..Three...Four..Five... Six. That's right, six books where readers like myself where consumed and captivated by the stunning prose and raw characters of Katy Evans. And in this sixth and final installment of The Real Series, Katy delivers a knockout punch that will forever be cemented in our hearts!!

It's a bittersweet feeling to say goodbye to Remy and his crew. It truly has been one REAL journey of ups and down and I loved every raw moment that Ms. Evans took her readers on. And in this final stop, Ms. Evans has gripped her readers for one unforgettable story that will remind us all why LEGENDS are remembered and never forgotten.

photo a3d78c9571e207612f3c03e883cc97_zpsusgtmvvc.gif “He gives me this rebel vibe. Like he’d rather say I’m sorry than may I, and maybe not even the sorry at all. There’s a fierce passion in his features and a kindled fire in his eyes.”

LEGEND was the perfect last installment. Everything about this book was just PERFECT and I LOVED IT HARD. If I thought I couldn't share my love for Remy, I was wrong because Ms. Evans has written another hero who was just as amazing as Remy. Maverick “the Avenger” Cage is the hero who is worthy to take the place of Remington Tate.

#LEGEND

Maverick Cage has fought his way to the top on his own merits. He truly worked his way to gain the recognition he deserves. He fought for his mother. For his future. For his love and passion of the sport. And for his self-worth. While no one wanted to give Maverick a shot because of his birth father. His father, Scorpion was a fighter, who is synonymous as one of the most dirtiest fighter left a reputation for Maverick that was undesired. While Maverick didn't know his father, he never denied who his birth father was. He didn't want to be known as the son of a fighter. Maverick Cage wanted to be a fighter to be remembered for his own skills. He wanted to be a legend. And every great fighter must be battled tested. And one way to rise to the top is take down the reigning champion. Remington Tate.

photo a3d78c9571e207612f3c03e883cc97_zpsusgtmvvc.gif “He’s kissing me. . . . His tongue, dipping inside my mouth. His mouth is possessive; his grip is possessive; he is acting so possessive. My tongue has never given me so much pleasure than when it’s stroked, slow and sure, by his tongue.”

Reese Dumas needed a fresh new start. She needed to go find herself. Find what makes her happy and live the life that she was meant to live. And so when she was hired to be the nanny to her cousin Brooke's son, Reese took this opportunity to get her life in track. And one mission Reese wanted to accomplish was to be a healthy and fit. As part of Tate's team and household, Reese was immediately welcomed and treated like family. She loved taking care of Racer, Brooke and Remy's son. So when Reese was working out, she sort of befriends Maverick at the gym when she helped him out on a bind.

photo a3d78c9571e207612f3c03e883cc97_zpsusgtmvvc.gif “I think of you.” He reaches out with his bruised-knuckled right hand and touches my face. All of Maverick Cage’s fingers are on my face . “I think of you a lot.” He searches my face and his thumb caresses my chin so briefly, but so powerfully, my knees feel like overbaked cake. “I think of kissing you,” he says. I feel like he’s kissing me now, with his metal eyes. Kissing me and making me fly.”

#Legend1

Knowing that Reese didn't have to help him out, Maverick was in awe with Reese's genorisity and kind heart. Soon he begins to form a friendship with her. And as they two begin to spend more quality time together, feelings begins to emerge. Soon Reese was embedded in his thoughts and the same could be said of hers as well. A deep friendship was formed and soon a deep sexual and emotional relationship was also formed.

photo a3d78c9571e207612f3c03e883cc97_zpsusgtmvvc.gif “I want you to love me very hard. Because I’m pretty sure I’ve never loved someone as hard as I love you, Maverick.”

Maverick was all about delivering the knockout punch to his opponents but what he failed to realized was that Reese Dumas was the girl to bring him to his knees. There was only one thing Maverick Cage was afraid of losing. It was not a title match but it was losing Reese. And as their relationship deepened emotionally, Maverick knew that Reese was his everything. And the same thing could have been said of Reese as she realizes that this feeling that she is feeling is LOVE. And this kind of love can bring anyone down to their knees.

#Legend3

The love of Maverick and Reese was tangible and palpable right from the start. I loved how Ms. Evans made their relationship feel so natural. She allowed her characters to really feel the depth of their connections. Nothing was rushed or forced. And so when it was time for Maverick and Reese to be in a committed relationship, readers felt the full grasp of their intense love. It was the kind of love that reminded me of Brooke and Remy.

While I can go on and on about how beautiful their relationship is, I loved that this book was still layered with so much depth, meaning and raw emotions. Ms. Evans allowed her readers to be consumed with an honest, raw, and vulnerable tale of a young man discovering his self worth and inner strength. A young man seeing pass all the negativity and demons. A young man discovering why legends are born and made. And for Maverick Cage, he discovered that settling for a life less than the one you are capable of living is not what makes a LEGEND. And for him, his dream to succeed and find a woman worthy of loving is what makes a legend. And sometimes getting to the top is about showing that even a nobody can be remembered.

photo a3d78c9571e207612f3c03e883cc97_zpsusgtmvvc.gif “He’s taking me now, deep and powerful. “Am I hurting you?” Maverick Cage. The Avenger. We’re a part of each other. No teams, no past, no future. I rasp out, “Only in the best ways.”

So once again, I just want to say a big thank you to Katy Evans for bringing these beloved and raw characters into our lives. She has truly given her readers a ringside performance that has kept us entertained throughout the six book journey. And throughout this REAL journey, readers like myself had cried, laughed, swooned, loved, and cheered on for their fighter. And if it was Katy's mission to deliver a knockout punch, mission accomplished. So I think it's fitting if I end my review in the words of Rocky Balboa: "How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth." And so if you are ready to read a romance that is layered with grit, passion, humility, honesty, and raw emotions then get ready to fall in love with a LEGEND.

Reese and Maverick are a whole other level of scorch. I so loved this book! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. They absolutely rocked my book world. ♡♡♡♡

"You were made to be mine, " he says against my lips, kissing me between breaths.
"You know that?" he asks. "You're mine. My hands were made to touch you; my lips were made to love you," he says as he sucks along my neck, his tongue trailing down my throat.
He goes lower and bites my shirt, pulling it down with his teeth, kissing my chest.
"My eyes were meant to see you," he whispers in his voice of thunder as he slowly unbuttons my shirt.
"My tongue was made to taste you," he moans against my breasts. His kisses sucking, branding me.
~ Reese

And still I think of that nice girl who doesn't want to be nice. A girl who wants to be unforgettable, and doesn't realize she already is. ~ Maverick

~~4.5 Stars~~

What an explosive ending to a wonderful series!!! Katy Evans did a beautiful job of ending her series on top!! I am sad to say goodbye to all of these beloved characters; but I am super happy she didn't drag the series on until us readers became bored!!! As it is, I will never ever forget Remington Tate, and now I will also never forget Maverick!!! I didn't think anyone could even come close to Remy....but Maverick gave him some wicked competition! (Inside the ring and inside my heart and head...LOL!)

Maverick has the determination to make it to the top, and his goal is to fight the unbeatable Remy....Can he do it? He also has a huge chip on his shoulder when it comes to Remy, and he has a father whom he wants to keep secret for fear that people won't give him a chance. If they know who he is fathered by, they will close the door in his face. In fact, all of the coaches whom Maverick asks to help him DO close the door in his face. He ends up taking a chance on someone who no one else will. Two misfits end up coming together to be a team. Maverick's luck is changing...especially when at the gym he is almost kicked out of, a young lady comes to his rescue and says, "He's with me." Maverick becomes lost when he encounters Reese, and very quickly she becomes lost to him too. The young couple develop an electric attraction and an intense bond...What will happen when he finds out that she is family with his enemy?

That is the bare minimum of what the story is about, but there really is so much more. If you are like me and kind of lost touch with the series after being disappointed with the second and third books; I urge you to read Legend--especially if you loved Remy in "Real". I personally found the first book in this series to be an epic read for me. I won't ever forget it, but when the other books came out, I found myself disappointed...nothing could touch "Real." I am very satisfied to say that Legend comes very close! I will admit that I have not read book four or five; but in no way did it ruin the experience for Legend! This was a very enjoyable read for me, and it could be read as a stand alone; however there is a lot of Remy and his family in the story so to have that history makes the story that much better!
I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Evans brings to the table next!

4.5 “The Avenger” Stars

Legend is the sixth and final book in the REAL series. I know, it makes me want to cry too. I love this series and it’s one of the first NA romance series I’ve picked up. Remy is one of the original book boyfriends I fell in love with and I’m so happy it kind of circles back to him with this final novel.

This is Maverick’s story and just when you thought your heart belong to Remy, Mav will try to steal some of it away. Legend is a sweet and wonderful tale about overcoming past prejudices and striving to be the best version of you. It’s a melt-your-heart book and will put a smile on your face.

“You have the world’s prettiest face… On the prettiest body. With the prettiest smile. And a voice I think of when it’s all quiet”

Mav is an underdog. He wants to be the best and in order to be the best he must beat the best and that includes Remington Tate. Now that’s a heavy order right? I love that Mav is an underdog. He doesn’t have two cents to his name, but he’s willing to go for his dreams. He wants to be better than his boxing father. Mav wants to be a Legend.

Reese is Brooke’s cousin and Reese takes care of Racer while they all travel for Remy’s competition. It’s not a single mother story, but I completely love the single mother vibe. Reese loves her family and they are her number one top priority so when Mav comes into the picture, Reese is all out of sorts.

I really love the Reese / family dynamic. It’s really cute and we all love Brooke and Remy from the original books so I was really pleased they had a huge influence in this one. Brooke and Mav are kind of start crossed lovers in a sense that Mav comes from very bad roots. Bad roots Reese is hesitant to be part of.

“There is something about telling someone a secret that binds and locks you together. And there is something about somebody knowing everything about you that makes you aware of how much work you still have to become better you. “

“I’m going to be a legend. And a legend will never be gone, even when six feet under. And a legend gets the girl. A legend wins the girl”

The thing I really love about this story is that it’s a sweet and simple story about a man wanting a woman he doesn’t believe he deserves but does everything he can be the man she deserves. I LOVE THAT! I love it when the Hero chases the Heroine and I love Mav’s non-stop pursuit of Reese. The book is not angsty and to my surprise is tamer than Katy’s usually high dramatic books, but honesty I couldn’t see it any other way.

It’s a beautiful story that concludes a beautiful series.

6 "ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER!!!"

“My hands were made to touch you
My lips were made to love you
My eyes were meant to see you
My tongue was made to taste you.”

Katy Evans outdone herself! This book was the best conclusion possible for this series. I could stop turning the pages. I didn't want it to end because it was like I was there in the story. Sitting beside those amazing characters, feeling their emotions. I missed this feeling and I am glad that it was Katy Evans's book which brought it out of me again. That's why I love reading and books, these things are pure magic!

The story was perfect! It flowed so easily, it felt so realistic and powerful. I fell inlove with the plot pretty much after I started it. There were twists, there were problems but the couple overcome them together and I couldn't be more happier about that. Not unnecessary drama, no stupid decisions, just love and friendship and family.

Maverick is swoon worthy 100% man! Determined, strong, panties melting hot, sweet, irresistible! He wanted to proove the world that he could be a Legend even thougu do that alone but he ended up with a family behind his back and something that is more worthwhile than proving that you can do something. He found love and understanding, he found himself and something that he was missing his whole life. I loved the way he was with Reese. No forcing, just feeling! He was tender and lovely and he was willing to do everything possible to get the girl he loves!

Reese.. the insecure, shy, silent girl who was on a mission to find herself. Traveling with her cousin on a trip that she believed it would help her to find out what she wants to do with her live. She doesn't just find out what she wants to do but she found out what it feels like to be loved and adored. To be loved as who you are, accepted without judgement. She started seeing world on whole different perspective. Maverick made her reckless but in the best possible way. They found each other, their sould recognised and the magic was there even from the start. Her character was beautiful because she was too real and too honest. She was afraid of these new developments, these new feelings that were unknown for her before. But nothing stopped her to be with the man who woke up these hidden emotions in her.

I cried, I laughed, I swooned over so many things! I loved their interactions and the way they build their relationship. It was on the very best pace and when they both needed it the most!

My heart might brust from happiness because one of my all time favourite couple was in this book, A LOT! REMINGTON TATE AND BROOKE DUMAS! Yes, you heard that right! I was sooooo happppyyyy to read about them again, to see how they family is growing and becoming even stronger. Remy was the man he always dreamed to be. It made to so proud to read about him and Maverick, their banters, their finals words! This was my favourite part, seeing everyone happy and content after everything they've been through!

I ended this book with heart full with happiness and the biggest smile! Thank you Katy Evans for this book, for ending it so beautifully!!!!

Let's focus on Maverick & Reese! They were great together....!They were 2 lost souls trying to find themselves and being accepted by the others. And that was hard considering that both of them had baggages to overcome and to find their purposes in life. Both Maverick and Reese had issues and insecurities and together they found a way to complete the puzzle and find the pieces that were missing.
The storyline was pretty good although the beginning was a little slow for me but as I kept reading I liked it even more because Maverick and Reese opened up about their feeling and started to fight for what was right in their lives...and that was having each other....

"You have the world's prettiest face.On the prettiest body.
With the prettiest smile. And a voice I think of when it's all quiet."

I really liked that they were 2 young people trying to find their place in the world. The slow building in their relationship was sweet and made them crave it even more.I loved their bond with Racer (Remy's son).My God that little kid was his father son...the fist-bump...???
I wouldn't have imagined it being better! ;)))
description
"Mavewick!" fist-bump."Come see my twain."

Maverick was Remy's legacy...

the living daylight out of her.

"Only that?"
"No.I want you to love me very hard.
Because I'm pretty sure I've never loved
someone as hard as I love you,Maverick."

Maverick was great!!!He adored Reese and he was possessive and jealous man,he wanted to be worthy of her and tried his best to be the one she would choose because she loved him!He was a wonderful hero for the end of this beautiful series!!!

**4.5 LEGENDARY STARS**

I was so excited to read  this book because the  REAL  series is one of my favorites. And I’m so glad it did not disappoint! Legend is highly addictive, riveting, and well written romance. The hero and heroine's chemistry is magnetic and explosive. It truly ended the series with a bang!

legend

Evans never fails to deliver a captivating hero. Malcolm Saint, Remington Tate and the new addition… Maverick Cage!

Maverick 'The Avenger' Cage is  quiet, enigmatic, intoxicating, and determined. He oozes strength and his presence is electric.
"I learn the best when I'm on the ground 'cause I fucking hate it there."

He's the new kid in the underground boxing who's background is a mystery. But already people feared him because of the tattoo on his back. Why? You have to anticipate and read what it all means. He likes to keep to himself and only has this fierce passion to be the best fighter ever. He wants to be legend and defeat the reigning King of The Ring- Malcolm 'Riptide' Tate(MY LOVE).
“I want to be a legend. Legends never die. Even if they die alone.”

He was used being alone until one day he met the endearing, Reese Dumas. Reese is the cousin of Tate's wife, Brooke. But Maverick doesn't know that she's part of Tate's team. When he discovered who she is, it's already too late. They already formed a bond and he couldn't and doesn't want to stay away from her. If that wasn't a problem enough, their past that they hidden from each other threatens their chance to be happy. Can they win the fight to be together when everything seems to be against them?
This love makes no sense. It’s complicated and confusing and scary and I still have it bad for him and I still feel it. And I know it’s rushed and I know it’s dangerous and I know it’s maybe a little bit doomed, but I also know it’s true.

I had hoped so because I loved Maverick and Reese! I was rooting for them because their connection felt so believable and oh boy it was intense! I swear, every interaction they had was brimming with scorching chemistry! It was HOT!
“I feel like I’m on top of a mountain with you,” I whisper, as he kisses my neck. “Let’s never come down.”

And I have to mention that Maverick and Tate's unexpected friendship was everything! Tate was very supportive and understanding towards Maverick, it proves why he is one of my top book boyfriends. Now, If you're wondering who wins in the final fight between them... YOU HAVE TO READ IT!

I'm so sad that this is the final book of the REAL series but I can say that I definitely enjoyed the ride. I loved this quote Hell yes Remington Tate is a legend. I will always love him and Brooke. Oh speaking of Tate and Brooke, .  Maverick and Tate's story is a beautiful one too and so was Melanie and Greyson's and Pandora and Mackenna's. I adore all of these characters! I adore these books!

4.5 STARS!!

"Dragging my hand over my face, I pull my phone back out and try to focus on the man I need to beat.

And I think of that nice girl who doesn't want to be nice. A girl who wants to be unforgettable and doesn't realize, she already is."

MAVERICK!!!! I think I'm in LOVE. Katy Evans has created a gorgeous, sensitive beast of a man. Another legend is born.

Legend is the kind of Katy Evans book that I love, filled with passion, emotion, tons of sexy times and a deep emotional connection between the two main characters. This book goes back to the roots of the series, an lonely underdog fighting against the world, and a sweet, kind woman who is swept away by his passion.

Maverick "the Avenger" Cage is an outcast in the underground fighting world. But he knows he can be the best if only someone would give him a chance and train with him. The best he can do is a down-and-out trainer named Oz. Reese is Remy's wife Brooke's cousin, and is traveling with them on the fighting circuit while taking care of their son, Racer. She is a loner, shy, and never thinks someone like Maverick would be interested in her.

"I wanted to be understood, and I wanted to be known. And I wanted to be loved."

I LOVE a good underdog story and Legend fits the bill perfectly. There are no over-the-top characters here, just two people who are searching for something that they never had. And when Maverick and Reese get together, WOW!!!! Hello, new favorite book boyfriend!!

“Don’t go after her if you don’t think you can deserve her.” He hits me again and I block, then jab him. He eases back and prowls around. So do I.
“Deserve her first. Then go after her.”

Reese and Maverick have a forbidden romance at first, because Maverick is in training to ultimately fight Remington "Riptide" Tate and challenge him for the championship. And nothing will stand in his way. But the truth comes out and Reese must decide whose corner she is really in. There's no question that Maverick is all hers, and he is the kind of man that knows when he has found the woman for him. I loved that Reese is not perfect, and the author makes sure to point out her insecurities. This is the kind of book that Katy Evans does best, filled with fierce warmth, hotness and a brute of a hero with a heart of gold. Maverick is EVERYTHING. I adored Legend and it is the perfect entry in the REAL series of books.

Favorite quote:

"He doesn’t say a word to me, but I can feel him. He’s all I feel. Everywhere.

4 - 4.5 ★'s

Déjà vu...that's what I felt many times in reading this story...but all in a good way, a very good way. Maverick is essentially Remy 2.0 without being bipolar, however, he's just as intense In. All. Ways.

Reese is Brooke's cousin who's staying with them and taking care of Racer. She's also there to better herself and what better way than to immerse herself in the gym scene. And that's where she met Maverick.

He's drawn to her right from the get go and there's something about him that intrigues her but they keep things on the down low for a while. Especially because they both have secrets...and pasts. Still their friendship grows and Maverick really responds to her kindness.

description

Naturally, this evolves into something else...how could it not? and they are HOT but they try to keep it secret for as long as they can. And just as soon as they decide to be out in the open, a mini drama occurs that also threatening to ends things between them.

And there's a brilliant twist that I just loved between Remy and Maverick. However, I was desperate for a Remy POV especially with that ending. I understand the author was torn about which way to go...and I'm still torn but the title is Legend so there you go.

I really enjoyed Maverick and Reese. I loved the falling in love parts and the penny (!!) ~sigh~ K.E. does intensity so well!

There's lots of juicy tidbits about Remy and Brooke and since this is the last book in the series, it would have been nice to have a wrap up POV from Remy (can you tell I was just wanting more Remy?)

But let me just say that Racer stole the show! It would be pretty amazing to get a spin off book about him sometime in the future!

I love Katy Evans and this series was simply amazing and breathtaking and wonderful. I loved every minute of each book and I just hope she will keep on writing in this manner for me to forever read her stories.

I suck at reading books from a series in order.. I know.. I have to stick to the order that the author crafted for it, but when you have tons of books in your list, you want to read them all and you kind of forget their order. So, “Legend” is the last book I’ve read from this series, although “Racer” came out last, but it doesn’t matter, I’ve read about Racer fully grown and after about him being 3 :))) “Legend” receives the gold medal so far, because even if the story line was simple, I liked the coiled emotion from it and the love story between Maverick and Reese.

Maverick Cage wants to be a professional fighter, but nobody wants to train him. All the doors were shut in his face and even with great potential, he needs a coach, somebody to train him to fight in the Underground tournament. His life wasn’t easy, growing up with only his mother, not knowing his father, only hearing about him and his fame as a fighter. Even if chances are against him, he is determined to fight, to show the world he is not his father, that he can be better and do amazing things.

Reese has lived such a simple life, without something notable in it. She is not a great fan of herself or her body, but she wants to change. So, during the Summer she accepts to go on tour with her cousin, Brook, and Remy, becoming their son’s Racer babysitter. She will come to love the Tate’s, their world, habits and also even the fights Remy is competing in. Being not very comfortable with her body, Reese begins to work out a lot, adopting a very healthy life style and during this, she meets Maverick.

Their connection is instant, Reese helping him train in gyms he doesn’t have membership in. Things progress between them, Maverick hanging out more and more at gyms to be near her or meeting in park where she takes Racer out. A very sweet and intense love story develops between them and I loved every second of it, because beside the physical part, the way Katy presented this story overwhelmed me.

Intense and emotional can outline in 2 words this book. Intense because the connection between the 2 characters was off the charts and literally every page was full of their chemistry and attraction. Emotional because the 2 of them had issues and dark background to leave behind. Maverick had to fight with his father reputation and prove he is not him. I won’t spoil his identity, but this character impacted the series a lot. He fought with everything he had to be better, to prove he can make a name by himself. I liked his relationship with Remy and the respect they developed. He also didn’t need any distraction from his goals, but his love for Reese was not that, it was a feeling that gave him wings to fly and to fulfill his dreams, having a beautiful girl by his side. Reese also had demons to fight and her dream of being a new person was fulfilled the moment she met Maverick, because he loved her without restraints and showed her how beautiful she really is. He was an example of devotion, determination and strength, focusing of making Reese aware of her qualities, that are not only psychical but also emotionally deep.

This book focuses on the will to become the best, to fight your past demons and to love someone soul bare, as they are. This couple really marked me and I took this message directly into my heart and read this book with almost tears, because it was heartbreaking but also very inspiring.

5 stars!!

❝I want to be a legend. Legends never die. Even if they die alone.❞

This has been a busy week for me. But I could not help stealing a few moments during the day and long into the night for 'Legend'. The sexual tension, the growth of relationship and total devotion to each other, is what made this romance, perfect for me.

Redemption!

After some trouble in her past, Reece is determined to find out who the "real" Reece is. Getting away from her helicopter parents, Reece comes to work for her cousin Brooke and her husband Remy, as Racer's nanny. Getting to travel the underground circuit with her new family, Reece meets another fighter, Maverick at a local gym.

Maverick has something to prove as a fighter and son. He wants to prove he is more than the legacy left to him. If he can just find someone to coach him and a gym to work out in, he knows he can win.

Both Maverick and Reece had something to prove to themselves, to others. They both faced their own demons head on. They struggled, but they fought and found solace and comfort in each other.
❝He looks at me, so deep I feel found.❞

I loved the love story!

❝Lust. It's not soft like the touch of a raindrop. It's not easy like floating aimlessly on the water. It's weighted, and heavy, a spark that catches on the forest of your body. A wildfire.❞

Katy Evans crafted a beautiful love story between spectacular characters. As I read, I would catch myself smiling. I was totally immersed in the world of Maverick and Reece. They were both new to relationships. He never wanted one, and she had never found one with the right guy. Watching them fall in love and get to know each other was heart-meltingly (I'm not certain that's not a word, but it fits!) good. They were perfect for each other.

'Legend' was an excellent ending to the Real series!

4.5 LEGENDARY stars

Phew! I read this in one take and I liked it for several reasons although it did not quite reach the top and my fave books in the Real series
Real (Real, #1) by Katy Evans Mine (Real, #2) by Katy Evans Remy (Real, #3) by Katy Evans
(I think that nothing will ever top that so…I give it a rest and won't dwell about it either)

The story:
Maverick „The Avenger“ Cage is the young eagerly driven fighter who is trying to find himself in the Underground fighting circuit by trying to prove something to himself and others while escaping the insecurities and self-worthy degradation linked to his direct family ties and the main obstacle in achieveing that is in winning. He needs to win the undefeated triple champion Remington „Riptide“ Tate. Hiding his true identity and staying in low profile only makes things hard and emotinally complicated when he falls in love with Reese Dumas, a girl that is searching for herself as well, a girl he befriends and finds a kindered soul in, a girl that is off limits to him as she is a part of the opposite enemy team and she is none the less than a cousin of Brooke Dumas Tate.

Reasons for liking the book:
1)Remy appears in the book

– I am stating this and won't go into any details here, nuff said.

2)The chemistry between Maverick and Reese is fan-freaking-tastic (that their non/conversation interaction was far better than when they actually did have a conversation
“They communicate by not communicating at all.“

– sometimes when they were too emotionally charged therefore the conversation was subtle and more meaningful
“I want to find out what it's like to have you lie on my chest. Spend the whole night with me. Talk about things.“

and when they were in anticipation mode the lack of verbal expression was perfectly accentuated by description of their body posture and facial expressions and the sentences were short, blunt and honest and so was the raw need, and the yearning to capture the moment between them.
A stolen moment. That's what just happened with him and me. But I want more than a moment. And I don't want to steal it. I want it to be ours.

– which was actually the perfect presentation of the emotional turmoil of young adults,
“I'm trying to find myself, and I can't do that if I'm lost in you.“
„I won't let you get lost.“

Then he grabs my hips and pulls me to him and kisses me a little harder. Deep possesive, and wet. And he says, „I'm in love with you, Reese.“

“I want to be with you. For as long as we have. An hour, a week, or just for the summer. I feel things for you that I don't understand and I want to…And for some reason, Maverick, I think that you're quiet enough that you can hear me.

„I want you to love me very hard. Because I'm pretty sure I've never loved someone as hard as I love you, Maverick.“

even though at times It felt like I was reading another sappy NA story…I did keep in mind they were acting according to their age and sometimes they were not. But that is a minor thing to even think about any further and I will look the other way.)

3)Maveric's character is very well presented and developed ( his inner valuation, desires and yearnings driven by inner demons of insecurities and self-questioning, self-appretiation and finding his self-worthy him through inner and outer fights)
“And you want to be the best?“
I want to be a legend.“

I learn best when I'm on the ground cause I fucking hate it there.

“Who's my toughest fight? In semis?“
„Yourself. It's always yourself. Can't win if you don't think you deserve it.“

4)The friend/mentor-ship developed between Remy and Maverick inspite the not so favorable life facts about Maverick's family ties – to tell you the truth, this was the most important segment in the whole book, for me! Here is the actual essence of Maverick growth as a person, in the interactions with Remy, Maverick received the long awaited emotion that he never got from the person he was supposed to get it from - his father. It was the notion of value and worth expressed by Remy that showed Maverick the full range of completion, of closure of a sort.
My father's greatest enemy, who gave me more attention than my father ever did. My father's greatest enemy, who believed in me more that my own father ever did. More father to me than my own blood. My mentor. My brother.
- Maverick

„You're a good kid, Maverick. If you're going to take the ring, you're going to need to fight to the teeth for it. And if you best me tomorrow, fair and square like your father never did, I'm going to be proud. I'm going to give something back to this ring before I go. I'm going to leave them you.
- Remy
5)The description of fighting scenes (God, I just love the intensity of movements, the speed, the discipline, the action, the concentration and devotion, yeah, I am weird like that)

In the end all I can say is by using this quote:
“It's an honor to have fought with you.“
„The honor was mine.“

That's actually all I have to say, it was a nice ending to the Real series and it's a sure thing, I will go back to my #1 fighter eventually cause, no pun intended, there can be only one LEGEND, after all.

May Contain Spoilers!!!

4.25 Maverick stars!!! Hero was the best and perfect! Still love Remy though! if I'm being honest at times the h annoyed me with thinking she wanted something with miles(a friend). Because of her I kind of got bored at times! but when we finally understand why she thinks the way does I totally got it and understood! Other than that I really have no complaints and I enjoyed this. totally safe I would safe. no ow , no mention of his past no nothing! she does ask him how many girls he tells her no they don't count. nobody counts until now (*swoon*). heroine is a virgin which didn't bother me at all. the only thing that might bother some is her thinking she wants a future with miles .nothing happens with them . they never did anything together. She goes out to meet him and her other two friends. Miles starts to see her more than a friend but she is way over wanting anything with him. Maverick puts him in his place(oh that alpha moment I love)!!! The sex that we got were hot but I felt were lacking a bit. I wanted more sexy times. lol good epilogue but not nearly as much as I would of liked! I totally love maverick(did I say that already)hehe. I really liked that we seen Remy(awe) and Brooke again:) Good read!

Thank you Kim for the loan!:)
