A doctor catering to the most dangerous men in the world meets a charming nobody. Neither wants to believe the other is what they seem. They’re both wrong.
As one of Zander Kapra’s team and a survivor of the cause, Corey helps by putting his medical degree to good use. He goes wherever he’s needed to keep the family safe. Sometimes, that means patching up assassins and helping dispose of evidence. Mostly, it’s helping the victims after their rescue. It’s a calling. He’ll never stop. Now, there’s this guy who won’t stop trying to win him, and Corey doesn’t know what to think. Mostly, he thinks Rhett is full of it.
Meeting Corey was the most random moment of Rhett’s life. One second, he was chatting with a friend. The next, Rhett was staring into the sweetest face he’s ever seen. Corey keeps trying to make him go away. Rhett can’t do that. He’s hooked. Now all he has to do is convince Corey to keep him. How hard could it be?
Charmer is the eleventh book in Charity Parkerson’s Kings of the East series where assassins, crime lords, and mafia bosses run the world. These books are best when read in order.
Charity Parkerson is an award winning and multi-published author with several companies. Born with no filter from her brain to her mouth, she decided to take this odd quirk and insert it in her characters.

This was book 11 in the"Kings of the Eastseries. This was a short quick read that I liked. Corey is a doctor who works for Zander Kapra he helps those who have been rescued from sex trafficking he himself almost died after being stabbed and left for dead as a child. We first met Rhett in the last book he was friends with Jordan. Rhett takes one look at Corey and knows that he has to have him so he grabs him by the hand and lead him out of the coffee shop. Rhett is a high school gym teacher who also has a porn site. One of the funniest scenes in the book is when he gets a toy stuck. When one of his students fathers recognize him he doesn't know what to think. Rhett knows that Corey is a hard nut to crack but he knows he is worth it. When Bear brings him an emergency patient Rhett gets a look at the real Corey and he loves what he sees. This was a good read. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
For all it's romantic lightness, this book deals with a very dark theme. Heartbreakingly dark. You need to keep your wits through the drama to enjoy the emerging light. Rhett and Corey are a quick perfect match. A fantasy romance and a quick, perfect HEA Rhett is just precious. One of the craziest scenes I've read in chapter three.🤣🤣🤣 *ask me in private if you want to know, Goodreads may delete me if I tell you here😅
Corey is a doctor and a member of Zander Kapra's team plus he is a survivor of the cause. He helps by putting his medical degree to good use going wherever he is needed to keep the family safe which means he has to patch up assassins and helping to dispose of evidence. But most of the time he is helping the victims after their rescue. He'll never stop helping them. Then Rhett arrives and he won't stop trying to win him and apart from thinking he is full of it, he has no idea what to do. For Rhett, meeting Corey was the most random moment of his life. One second he was chatting to a friend, the next he was staring into the sweetest face he had ever seen. Corey tries to make him go away. Rhett can’t do that. He’s hooked. Now all he has to do is convince Corey to keep him. How hard could it be?
I enjoyed this story of the way their relationship started and then the way that Rhett accepted that there would be injured children in need of help and that he was prepared to do whatever it took to help them. They actually were the perfect combination of healing from Corey and nurturing care from Rhett. Easy to read, feel and understand, this is a MM story with mature content.
I adored Corey and Rhett! Rhett had this golden retriever energy and vibe and Corey had absolutely no idea what to do with him at first. It was fantastic.
Corey was so stoic and reserved. It was hard for me to picture how Rhett was going to win him over. I mean, really, Rhett was just persistent and downright adorable. I loved everything about Rhett. Seeing him with Rhorey was so cute. I usually dislike child storylines in books but this just worked so perfectly.
I’m 5 staring this one just for Rhett alone, but Corey also helped that along. I just loved their story so much.
I love this entire series but throw little Rhoery in to the picture and you’ve got me. When Rhett basically claimed Corey right off the bat at the coffee shop I knew this was going to be a great story and though most of these men come with a back story that makes you want to hurt someone on their behalf I love how they come out on top with and in love. Can’t wait to get to next read just know it’s going to be Dante and I’ve been waiting for him!!!! So f you haven’t read this series, what are you waiting for; some angst and a whole lot of love….perfection
I liked it, especially how Rhett was the perfect match for Corey. His persistence and patience really worked well with Corey’s guarded nature. Their dynamic was nice to watch unfold, and I loved that Rhett ended up closing his solo porn channel and became a stay-at-home dad after they got together.
But honestly, both Corey’s and Rhorey’s pasts were just too messed up. It got a bit heavy and took away some of the enjoyment for me. That’s why I ended up giving it 3 stars. It wasn’t a bad read, but it didn’t fully click with me either.

Charity Parkerson has brought us yet another great story in the Kings of the East series. I love these darker romances. Corey is a doctor with a dark past who helps a secret organization that rescues human trafficking victims. Rhett is a bouncy, happy go lucky gym teacher/virtual sex worker who wants Corey the second he sees him. Their story is full of healing and love. Trigger Warning for talk of child abuse.
I enjoy all her books, but this one touched my heart more than the others. It left one unanswered question at the end but I won't spoil the story by mentioning it. I love how you get to also read a little interaction with previous characters from this set.
This one made me smile. I’ve been reading all Ms Parkersons series and have been enjoying Kings of the East the most of all. This isn’t the first smile I’ve had in the series but this is the first that I just loved every single page. ❤️
This series is amazing and this book is no exception. The characters are fantastic and really pulled me into their story. The story is well crafted and had me hooked. I have enjoyed every page.
