Dispelling the Midwest's reputation as the home of cuisine most noted for being stodgy and starchy, this cookbook is reflects a modern preference for food that is fresh, healthy and flavorful. Most of the recipes are innovative, but also homey and comforting; quite a few made it on to my "to try" list.
