My name is Richard DeVoe. I’m the brother of Gabriel de la Madalena. I’ve been keeping a very important secret from Gabriel that has the power to destroy our brotherhood. I’ve been in love with Samantha Gray for thirty years. She came to town seeking vengeance from Gabriel for killing her mother centuries ago. Since my creation, Gabriel and I have stood side by side. Now that he has found his happily ever after, am I wrong for seeking out the same?
To make things even more difficult, I’ve met this stunning woman named Strawberry. She’s clouding my thoughts when I should be concentrating on Samantha. Strawberry always manages to be at the right place at the right time, but she won’t tell me who she is. Everything comes down to a choice. Will I choose my brotherhood with Gabriel or will I choose the woman I walked away from thirty years ago?
My name is Strawberry Rose. I’m a witch who was forced to leave everything behind to help protect a man who is supposedly my mate. The problem is ‘my mate’ is in love with another woman, and if I’m being honest, I don’t particularly like him.
When I finally decided to open my heart to Richard, I overheard him confess his love for Samantha. I begin to resent him, but the more time I spend with him I realize he isn’t as insufferable as I had originally thought. Everything comes down to a choice. Will I continue to help a man who loves another woman or will I walk away just as his world is imploding?
K. Lewis was born and raised in rural Texas. Her friends and family are the most important to her. When she isn’t reading, you can find her with her energetic Bichon Frise, Crumpet. K. Lewis’s love for reading romance began in junior high school when she and her best friend exchanged short stories about their crushes. Throughout the years, she has gravitated toward paranormal and romantic suspense, focusing on plus-size heroines. “A Vampire’s Revenge: Gabriel and Jayla’s Story” is K. Lewis’s first paranormal romance novel.
I enjoyed this storyline and the main and secondary characters. The story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. This book was recommended by Unique Words LLC.
Now I see what the ratings was all about. Love the realistic reaction when the truth came out, also, the fact it came out quickly and did not drag the story along. Gabriel handling Richard's indecisiveness made me tickle, they truly have a brotherly bond and in that moment it showed. Happy there was a heroine that held her own and was consistent throughout the story.
The author took a slight different route in the supernatural world, but one can't help to be impressed by it all. I can't wait until "so and so's" story. I just know it'll be a rollercoaster blast.
I was thrilled to see that all the books are out, and I can read them back to back. The second book in the La Madeline Brothers series is Richard’s story. Ricard gave up his love to take care of Gabriel, but now that Gabriel is content and in love, Richard feels that it is his turn in life and love. Many years ago, Richard believed he had found love with Samantha and is now looking for her to rekindle their romance. Fate has other plans in the name of Strawberry. Strawberry has been trying to steer Richard away from the path he is currently on. Richard’s course is about to change in the most unexpected of ways.
Within the paranormal realm, I love fated-mate romance. Richard’s story has many twists and turns, as does Gabriel’s tale. I recommend reading this saga if you love vampire romance novels.
I was waiting for this and it was worth the wait. At first I was as conflicted as Richard. Lol. He was hunting for Samantha five years because he loved her and couldn’t get over her. Though it had been 30 years since they were together. So he pines 35 years and when he saw this witch he started having feelings and fell hard and fast? But it is a paranormal romance and I do like gated mates so I’m willing to overlook this slight start. Because this story has more twists than a Twizzler and is full of action. Its page turner for sure and I don’t know how many times my heart stopped.! You do need to read the first book first but it’s good too. I can’t wait till next year for the next one!
This was a great read. I wish strawberries world was expounded upon more. I hate that while these books are great, they feel rushed almost. The writer has a knack for creating an awesome storyline for each character that leaves such an expanse of room to grow even more in greater detail but the "rushiness" of the writer to not make it a longer story seems to cut down the great potential of the world she's building. You can see her books could be so much greater than what they are and they're already good but she just stops short of great. I love the humor of the author very much its so relatable. Overall you will enjoy this series.
This book had my emotions all over the place but I was mainly irritated and frustrated with Richard and sometimes Strawberry. Richard was an idiot in the beginning and it made me wish I could teleport myself into the book and knock his head clean off his shoulders. I will say the way this book weaved together and had so many plot twists had me in LOVE. I won’t spoil it but that ending almost made me cry because Jayla AND Strawberry!?! I was SICK you hear me!!! Anyway, Clarence as always is my baby daddy and I will be fighting his mate whenever he gets his book! Ms. K. Lewis once again you don’t miss!
When Richard's secret could destroy his brotherhood with Gabriel. But after seeing Gabriel happy he wonders if Samantha and him could find their happily ever after. After seeing a beautiful witch named Strawberry, Richard is conflicted. When his actions put his family in danger he is left spinning. I absolutely loved this series and story. This story reads so seamless and what an adventure. The characters are so amazing and intriguing. I highly recommend this author, series and story!!!
Richard went on a search and rescue mission for a woman who truly didn't love him, as he thought he loved her. Strawberry the new witch was sent to help Richard, who is a cry her mate, but had a major issue towards his love and loyalty. All the drama that Richard caused was brought home to the family and they had to prepare to fight. Strawberry made Richard fall in love and work for her love. This was a great read and loved the whole family involved, await the next story.
I am enjoying this series. Strawberry and Richard's story was a series of twists and turns that I enjoyed reading. Even though she was a young witch, she was a force to be reckoned with. She had doubts about her powers, but she proved herself in the end. Strawberry knew that Richard was her mate, but she doubted that he would have feelings for her after she overheard him, confusing his love for Samantha. Richard had to prove to her that he really loved her, and he did. Great story. On to the next book.
Having enjoyed book one so much, pre-ordering book two was a no brainer. The main characters flow through the story, along with tense thoughts of possible battles, as vampires, werewolves and even witches fill the plot. Witches and vampires don't mix. Or do they? Add to this a steamy, extremely steamy relationship and there is something here for everyone. Richard has to work out the differences between love and lust, Strawberry, a new witch has to protect people while keeping her mate close to herself. The tensions in the relationship are electric and it turns the novel into a page turner, right up to the last page. The skills of the author in scene description and putting emotions into words is clear, and makes me want a book three, and the end pages hint at such an item, so, if you are into witches and vampires, but prefer the story to be bound by a love interest, then this is for you. Five stars, no hesitation.
Ms. Lewis said that she was not a fan of witch movies and never read any books about witches, so she was winging it. Let me tell her and you that she did a phenomenal job of writing this book about one of the main characters being a witch! I really enjoyed this book, and the coming together of everyone from Gabriel and Jayla's book, and look forward to the next two books in line to be published soon! Thanks, Ms. Lewis for a truly good book!
K Lewissss you did it again with the second book! I thoroughly enjoyed Richard and Strawberry falling in love. Richard was driving me crazy about his love for Samantha but I’m glad everyone got what they deserved! That ending tho! WOO…WHAT!? I’m waiting for book 3 cause I know there has to be more lol. I hope eventually everyone can live a peaceful life free of battle. I can’t wait for more!
After reading book 1, I eagerly waited for the release of book 2. Somehow I got buried alive by tbr books and only just got around to it. And wow! I was blown away. I can't wait for book 3 now. If I told you everything I loved about it, there'd be spoilers. So you're going to have to trust me. Read the book!
Wow, is all I can say. There were moments when I felt this book was lagging, but turns out, it wasn’t and this was a very nice read. I especially love the drama between Samantha and Strawberry (great name btw). I can hardly wait for book three because I want to read Killian’s and Deja’s story NOW! Please read and enjoy!
Finished book 1 yesterday and binged book 2 today. The ending and set up for the next book has me on the edge of my seat ready to order….hurry up with book 3.
Richard and Strawberry are such a cute couple. This book is full of twists and turns. You never can predict what’s going to happen and the humor makes it even better. Love it!

She may not have been familiar (no pun intended) with witches, but she aced it in this book as far as I’m concerned! I can’t wait for the next books to drop!
