Three Cowboys and a Baby by Kate Pierce
Contemporary romance.
Baby Sky is left in the care of Noah, Max, and Luke by an ex military buddy. They intend to contact social services but decide to wait for the mother to pick up Sky.
Jen was supposed to pick up her baby when she got off the military boat, but her ex didn’t show. She travels cross country by bus, twice, to find her child. Noah is not happy when Jen finally shows up at the ranch. He thinks she is irresponsible and just as much to blame as is the missing father.

Time together snowed in and a charming baby have Noah and Jen getting to know each other.
This take-off of a similar named movie is cute. Noah has plenty of experience and does the bulk of the day-to-day baby duty and the other two men are amusing in their trying to help. I found it interesting that Jen immediately knew the ranch work would have been behind with Noah caring for the baby. It was the baby talk and teething bone that totally won me over.
Adorable with a few steamy scenes, it’s a great romance.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

THREE COWBOYS AND A BABY by Kate Pearce is a heartfelt contemporary western romance full of misunderstandings, tension, humor, and love. This is the first book in a new trilogy featuring three sexy former Marines now cowboys on the Nilsen family ranch at the northern end of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range.

When Luke Nilsen left the service, he returned home to run his family’s ranch with two of his Marine brothers, Noah and Max. An old teammate shows up at the ranch out of the blue with his infant son, Sky, looking for the baby’s mother who supposedly lives in town. When he doesn’t find her, he sneaks out overnight and leaves the baby behind.

Noah Harding had to raise his three sisters while his mother worked to support them and he swears he will never have a child of his own, but until the baby’s mother turns up to claim him, he will do his best to take care of him. When Sky’s mother shows up at the ranch relieved to find her son safe, they become snowed in, and Noah learns there is more to the story and there may be more to his own feelings.

Jen Rossi knows her son’s father is unreliable and when she is delayed getting back from deployment, she never expected he would abandon their son with three men she doesn’t even know. Snowed in, Jen is especially helpful with her nursing skills after an accident. While she really appreciates the handsome, but taciturn Noah, she must consider her future with her son and the ever-present problems her ex can cause for her custody.

I like the author’s set up for this trilogy, the setting and the three friends. Their military service made them all close, but they also came back with some difficulties adjusting and the isolated, large ranch in the mountains is a perfect place to heal. Noah is gruff and has to have everything organized in a logical way which does not always line-up with emotions. Jen has grown up in foster care until her service and now whether she has found a man she can learn to trust and love; she must put hers and her son’s futures first. While I enjoyed all the back and forth while Noah and Jen are getting to know each other, there were times it went on too long for me when some things could have been taken care of by just some honest conversation. The sex scenes are smokin’ hot and explicit, but not gratuitous. All of the secondary characters are fully fleshed and realistic and I cannot wait to see who is going to meet their HEA match next.

I enjoyed this contemporary western romance and am looking forward to the other two books to come in the trilogy.

Three Cowboys And A Baby was a very enjoyable read.
Imagine three big, burly marines taking care of a cute toddler in an isolated ranch, I think I fell in love with this story at the blurb.

Luke, Noah and Max take care of Sky, when his father abandon him at their ranch and left. It is hard but they get used to their new routine pretty easily. The baby's mother arrives at the ranch to bring her son at home right before a snowstorm, so she also stays stuck in their company.

As soon as Noah and Jen met they have some incomprehensions and misconpetions, but day after day thaks to the forced cohabitation and the small spaces they have to share they know each other better changing their minds about their personalities and behaviour.

I loved the plot, the little baby conquered my heart since the start and the snowstorm was so romantic that even two characters as different as Noah and Jen fell in love with each other.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for kindly giving me an advanced copy of this book to read.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Noah and Jenn. They were so damn good together.

Also the three men and the baby movie similar title - ah I should watch that movie again soon. It was so much fun.

I loved their banter, the chemistry (oof the chemistry), the tough conversations they would have, I loved Noah’s family, I loved Jenn’s son Sky. Oh they made me wish I was adopted by them. And I loved the final heartwarming confession that they loved each other.

That’s what my single romance loving heart wants. Such simple requests.

I loved it all! I loved heading back into Kate’s writing and thoroughly enjoying myself.

Gosh what an amazing ride.

The only reason I’m only giving four stars is because the story could’ve been a little shorter, also the chapters too - because it at times felt like it all dragged a little.

But anyway loved this story and can’t wait for the others stories too!

Until the next read,

Wow, the ex in this one. That man should loose all parental rights! He shows up at a house, and just leaves his kid there! Luckily they know what to do while trying to figure things out.

And the poor mother! As a reader we do not know what to think first either, but I know she can´t be the lost cause that the ex made her out to be. I mean poor woman! She comes back from working at sea and can´t find her child.

Noah is horrible to her when they meet. I mean I get it, they were told things, but hello, like ask her first! She went to hell and back to find her child.

Jen blames herself. Don´t! What was she supposed to do? And then she gets stuck at the ranch. Most be some kind of snowstorm.

Obi she and Noah will fall in love. They butt heads and then respect will build. Stuck together for weeks when roads are dangerous .

I liked it, and I wonder about the other books. The two other friends seems interesting, and with their own issues to handle.

Good narration. Not the biggest cast of characters , but the distinction between them all worked so well

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

What a fantastic start to a new series!!! I adored "Three Men and a Baby" and this book fell right in line with the movie as to be enchanting.

Dave a former Marine team mate visits three of his friends with his young son. The next day Dave has flown the coop leaving young Sky behind. Dave didn't leave a very good impression of the baby's mama with the three cowboys (especially Noah!) Really what kind of a woman leaves her infant for months at a time?

Jen arrives in San Diego and basically spends weeks criss-crossing the country trying to track down her ex and her baby! Fortunately Jen is able to track down Dave (who is now in Africa) and told where he left Sky. She arrives in town as the worst storm in a long time hits. She walks 4 miles in the snow to get to her son only to have a man greet her with a rifle pointed at her head!

Jen and Noah really shoot sparks off of each other. Can Noah look past Jen's absence in the little one's life? What kind of job does Jen have that she has to leave her young son? Can Jen and Noah survive the storm to come together as a couple? What about Jen's job where she travels all the time? Those questions and more come up in this tale. Plus the reveal as to the unusual name of Sky and his middle name for the baby (which was funny and made my kinda groan as well!)

This is a sexy read. I can't wait to see who is next in line for the second book in this series!

This is the first book in a new series about three former Marines. Luke Nilsen has returned home to his family's ranch in northern California and brought along two Marine buddies, Noah and Max. Another buddy, Dave, shows up at the ranch with his baby son, Sky. He said that he has come to meet in the nearby town with Sky's mother who he shares parenting duties with. Sky's mother, Jen Rossi, is on deployment and she is looking forward to being reunited with her son, only Dave has sent her on a wide goose chase to try and locate him. After Dave arrives at the Nilsen Ranch, he sneaks off in the middle of the night and leaves the baby with his three Marine friends. They do the best they can taking care of Sky and Noah becomes especially attached to him.

After Jen finally gets home from her deployment and finds out where Sky is, she goes to retrieve him and gets snowed in at the ranch. Dave has told his buddies that Jen is irresponsible as a mother, but the guys come to realize that it is the other way around. Jen and Noah are attracted, but they are both dealing with issues from their past that makes it hard for them to trust, commit, and share their feelings.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the other books in the series. Kate Pearce does a great job with the contemporary western romance genre.

Noah, Max and Luke are working a ranch together. They are all former military, and an old pal shows up with his baby. He's supposed to leave the baby with its Mother Jen Rossi. After not locating Jen in town Dave leaves during the night and leaves baby Sky behind. Noah is tending to the baby since he really raised his 3 sisters.
Jen has return to the US and is trying to locate baby Sky and no one knows where he left the baby. Dave finally contacts her with the information on Sky's location.
When Jen arrives in town there is a terrific snowstorm and ends up walking to the ranch and getting snowed in with the 3 men. Luke says he has never seen a storm like this before and the men are now trying to save the cattle. Noah doesn't like Jen because she left her baby with Dave for him to take care off and everyone knows Dave is only out for his self.
The longer Jen stays the more Noah is attracted to her. Can they find a way to be together?
Great read looking forward to more of this series.

This was an entertaining, steamy western/ex-military novel. Three ex-marines run a cattle ranch miles from the nearest town. When their friend Dave, also ex-marine shows up with a baby they greet him with open arms. But then Dave disappears during the night, leaving only a note and the baby behind. Jen has no idea where Dave or her baby have gone. She is on leave from her Navy hospital ship and travels cross country by bus to Dave's mother's house only to find she is on vacation. Back on the bus she goes to get to the vacation spot. They figure out where Dave has taken the baby and back on the bus, across the country goes Jen. When she finally gets to the town, she discovers all roads to the ranch are closed due to a threatening snowstorm. No storm will ever stop a Mama Bear from getting to her cub. She hikes in on foot only to be greeted by the sound of a cocked shotgun. She isn't letting that stop her. She will just get her baby and hike back out. Except those ex-marines aren't letting that happen.

Three Cowboys and a Baby by Kate Pearce is a cute, but predictable cowboy yarn about a ne’er-do-well who ditches his baby with friends after telling a somewhat exaggerated tale about the baby’s mother. Meanwhile, the mother, Jen, is searching frantically for her baby, traveling from San Diego to San Jose to Florida and back again, only to be met with a blizzard, through which she walks two miles to be greeted by a shotgun in her face. Yes, all part of the story. She does, however, find her son, well taken care of, with three men trying to run a ranch and take care of him. They quickly realize that much of what Dave had told them was fiction and that, as usual, he was the flakey one. But, as the storm continues and things happen at the ranch, they find themselves grateful that Jen is there to help.

The four men in the story are all very different personalities and written so well one can visualize them as one reads the story. Of course, it is romance and Jen falls for one of them but vows to stick by the agreement they had made at the outset, which eventually leads to her leaving the ranch, with her son. There is a lot of introspection, but also some legitimate ranch problems which have to be dealt with. The characters are good; the plot is solid, if somewhat predictable: it is a romance after all. The predicament is realistic and interesting. The snow storm is much to real and makes me thankful I don’t live there!

First, I love that the plot for this book was based off the 80s film Three Men and a Baby, which I loved and saw in the theater when it was released. Second, Tom Selleck was my favorite in the movie and. Burly bearded Noah was my favorite in the book. I loved that he called Sky little buddy all the time and the present he and Max made for Sky was so adorable and sweet.
I had mixed emotions about Jen until the full story of why she couldn’t be with her baby for months on end was revealed. Dave was a total douche bag and I couldn’t believe level headed Jen got taken in by him.
Max was prickly and I hope something develops for Luke and Bailey.
Lots of testosterone, nasty weather, lust on a ranch and a baby to satisfy your wants.,
Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the early copy.

Three Cowboys and a Baby by Kate Pearce is a contemporary romance novel. The book has some flawed main characters who seem to be incapable of having an adult conversation that doesn't include jumping to conclusions. Noah struggles with things that are not cut and dried and jumps quickly to conclusions. Jen is gun shy over families and men. She needs to do what she can to provide a good home for Sky (her son).

The ranch is up in the mountains and all the characters are trapped there until the storm abates and the passes open up. Interestingly, it was a long, long time before they were able to leave. Jen, as a nurse, luckily could help the cowboys when they got banged up.

I love Kate Pearce’s books. Her cowboys are always great characters and I enjoy reading about a “good cowboy”. I did become disgusted by how Noah was clueless at times, especially when he thought he was being respectful. I also felt the book might have dragged a bit at times. Having said all that, I will continue to read and enjoy Kate’s books.

Three Cowboys and a Baby by Kate Pearce is a good read.

I love Kate Pearce - and this is a sweet western romance with a fun take on the abandoned baby trope. Noah and two close friends from the Marines are working on a ranch in pretty much the middle of nowhere. They are all recovering from their military experiences when another old friend shows up and leaves his 11 month old with them. The baby's mom, Jen, is active duty military (something the dad neglects to mention to them - while trying to make himself look good and her look like a terrible person). Jen has just returned from duty and has no idea where her ex has left their baby. When she literally crosses the country and walks four miles in a snow storm to find him - the guys on the ranch - Noah in particular - don't welcome her particularly warmly. But as they get to know each other while riding out the storm of the century, things change. So overall - cute cute - and sexy in Kate Pearce's signature style.

I think the issue is - I am just really over book where people don't talk to each other like functioning adults. Both Jen and Noah have a lot of baggage - and neither has dealt with it well. Noah makes snap judgments and has a hard time changing his mind after those judgments are made. Jen avoids conflict and doesn't speak up for her own wants and needs. So despite how they come to care for each other and the sparks they have - they just can't seem to talk about what they need to. It drove me a little insane. Simple questions or statements like - what are your plans once the storm breaks? or, Do you think I could come see you in San Jose and we could try for more? or, My ex-is an asshole - but I need to work with him right now because I can't handle a custody battle - would have led to them supporting each other and not being miserable. Instead - Noah tells Jen what he thinks - and she responds with "you're wrong - so think about it and maybe you'll figure it out. Like what? How does that help anything? Its ok to be mad and definitely ok to point out that Noah is making snap judgments again - but people aren't mind readers. Generally speaking - if you explain things go better. Oy.

Overall - I liked it - but I really got salty about the way the characters handled the big issues in the book and it highly colored my views.

I received this via NetGalley as an ARC, but these opinions are all my own.

Three Cowboys and a Baby, the first book in the Three Cowboys series by Kate Pearce, has all the elements of humor, drama, tension, conflict, and romance you’d expect in a story about three ex-Marines turned Cowboys who have a baby boy nearly dropped off on their doorstep.

Through Ms Pearce’s writing talents, even baby Sky’s personality was larger than life and quite vivid in my mind’s eye…and then there’s the vastly different personalities of Luke, Noah, and Max, who rise to the occasion of pseudo parenthood through teamwork and compromise. The hilarity of Noah not giving it a second thought that, while keeping Sky corralled in a playpen made of straw bales in the barn while chores are attended to, the baby sticks a piece of straw up his nose…or that a brand new rubber dog bone just needs to be sterilized in order to make it a perfect teething toy…adds to the multitude dynamics that make this story a page turner.

All in all the perfect beginning to a very promising new series.

Three Cowboys and a Baby is loosely based on the 80’s movie Three Men and a Baby. When three bachelors unexpectedly are left with a baby, Noah draws on the skills that he developed raising his siblings. The very reason he once swore would keep him from ever wanting children of his own. Too bad he never counted on falling for the baby or his mother. Jen, on the other hand, is wary of starting anything that might jeopardize her tenuous custody arrangements with her ex. While it would have helped if both Jen and Noah ever talked with one another rather than make assumptions, ultimately, they finally figured out their feelings. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

There were so many plot holes in the book it looks like Swiss cheese! One of the worst written books I’ve ever read. Unrealistic dialogue, unrealistic plot, just ugh no. And what about all that coffee? Strange too strange. But someone must like her books she’s written a lot of them and they have pretty good reviews.

I love Kate Pierce's books. She creates splendid characters, intriguing and detailed settings and marvelous stories. This is the first of a new series. It is similar to the Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson movie in that 3 rugged men are left with a baby and have to figure it out, but in this case it is 3 retired marines turned cowboys and it is the baby's dad who abandons his son with his former team mates with a blizzard approaching while he goes off for a job. He also sent the mother of his child, a Naval officer, on a cross country wild goose chase from the west coast to the east coast and back again, looking for her son, Sky. He also implied that she had left him with the baby,, leaving out the part that you can't just quit the Navy. His team mates know he is irresponsible, but first buy into his version, until they meet Jen. Luke and Max quickly embrace her as they have her son, but Noah, because of his own abandonment issues is a hard sell. But eventually he thaws and they are very attracted to each other, but have communication issues. Great character development, exploring all kinds of modern social issues, especially those that ex-soldiers go through. For me, there were too many sex scenes, so it got 4 stars instead of 5, but that is my personal taste. As always with the author's books, I eagerly await the next one.

First book in series I've read and it was cute story. Starts out at a slow pace, 3 ranchers get stuck with a baby dumped on them by Dave a flighty former military member. They can't believe he just dumped the kid and left after saying the kid's mom his ex-girlfriend was supposed to pick him up. He paints her as a thoughtless, careless bad mom.
Meanwhile the mom Jen, is taking the bus all over the country trying to find her son. She was deployed in the navy and was stuck in hurricane on a ship so was late arriving back to port.
She finally makes it to where Dave dumped her son and gets stuck in a snowstorm can't get out with her 1-year-old child and three cowboys that are ex-military.
This is charming, hot romance with adventure of snow storm and survival.

Enough steamy romance to melt through the harshest blizzard!

Wow - this book is going to make you feel like you've settled in for a "Long Winter" filled with equal parts humor and heartbreak, sexy times and tragic times, and a whole new look at what makes a family unit.

Jen is trying to co-parent little Sky with his party hearty father, Dave, who is supposed to take care of the baby while she's deployed. But when she's finally on leave Dave and the baby are no where to be found. It takes her weeks to track her son to the ranch in Northern California where Dave dumped the baby on his three bachelor friends, men he served with who were not the least bit surprised by Dave's irresponsibility.

Noah, one of the unwilling babysitters who believed Dave's tales of his ex, met Jen at gunpoint once she finally hiked her way through the unusually heavy snow to find her son. I loved the way these two were at odds right from the start, and how they had to work through layers of misconceptions and lies to figure out just what the future held for them.

Jen has a lot of baggage from her own dysfunctional upbringing that motivates her to set everything aside except what's best for her son. I readily identified with her as a mother, and thought the author did an outstanding job of showing the emotional turmoil she went through trying to balance everything out.

Noah's partners - ranch owner Luke and unpredictable Max - are more than just background characters. I really enjoyed how the author gave life to all the characters throughout their time in weather-related forced captivity. All of this is happening during the worst blizzard on record, resulting in more than one life-threatening situation and enough work to keep everyone busy while they sort out what they're going to do once the weather again allows for contact with the outside world.

This is the kind of story that grabs you by the heart right from the first pages and doesn't let go until you're sighing with relief at the beautiful HEA. I loved every bit of it, and highly recommend it for anyone who loves contemporary cowboy romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This book featuring ex-marine cowboys, a baby, a midwife, and a snowstorm had a great plot and fun characters. I enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers feel of the book since that is one of my favorite romance tropes. I loved how the snowstorm created this situation that kept the characters housebound in close quarters. The baby, Sky, definitely added a fun layer to the story and had some cute scenes of his own. Noah, Luke, and Max may have their problems, but deep down, they are what we all want our heroes to be: strong, loyal, and honest - even if they have trouble putting it into words sometimes. The story felt believable and I would read more from this author and in this series, as I am interested in finding out more about Luke and Max and their happily ever afters. This is a steamy contemporary romance with open door scenes.

I purchased this book in my monthly Brenda Novak Book Box and am sharing my honest review. My thoughts are not influenced in any way.

Kate Pearce brings us a story of three former Marines living and working together on a farm. When someone from their former life shows up with a baby, they are in for a surprise when their buddy leaves them with his baby. With the snow coming down faster and being remote, it leaves them little choice but to wait for the missing parent to show up. Meanwhile, Jen is finally able to see her baby boy only to find out that he is not where he is supposed to be. This leads to a lot of traveling to get to the ranch and then receive an unwelcoming reception from Noah. Because of the snow storm, Jen is stranded there with her baby boy, Noah, and the rest of the men. Will this time together thaw Noah out enough to allow his heart to thaw as well, or has there been enough damage done? Has the past already colored the future, or will the time spent together make them see each other differently?

Kate Pearce brings us a story of three men, a baby, and a lady and what happens when you can't go anywhere because the snow is in the way. Will love conquer all, or is the past too much of a burden to carry? You want to keep reading how these guys handle a baby on their own as well as how they all manage when Jen shows up for her baby. I look forward to reading more from this author.

A mutual friend visits his three cowboy buddies and leaves… well… he leaves his baby behind when he goes. One of the three cowboys, Noah, take special responsibility for the child and can’t wait til the mother arrives so he can chew her out for abandoning her child as well.

Jen returns from a Navy mission to discover, after haring across the country twice, that her crazy ex has just left her kid with a bunch of cowboys. She is livid. And not at all interested listening to Noah’s lectures.

But gradually she finds she just might be interested in something Noah has to say- about their attraction.

This is a sweet take on the old Three Men and a Baby movie. It doesn’t seem to be a rom com which is what I had expected, not to say that there isn’t a nice sense of humor at times. The secondary characters are well developed and it is easy to like Noah. I had a little bit of trouble identifying with Jen though.

I kind of felt like I missed a cue for the change from enemies to lovers for Noah. I didn’t see the progression. It just felt like a switch was pulled and voila, Noah no longer mistrusted and disliked Jen but had fallen in love with her.

Maybe (ok, for real) I’m weird but my favorite character to read was Dave, the baby daddy. We all know him: he’s the totally self un-aware good time screw up who reframes every situation to make himself look benevolent and good. He totally believes his new reality. He is a jack@$$ but fun to read.

Maybe it isn’t clear from the above but I quite liked the book and would give it a 3.5 rounded up to a 4 because there are no .5s on the scale.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
