So Much More Than a Rock Romance

You get so much more than a rock romance because this one packed full of lies, deceit and so much more. Wilder and Lake are getting their second chance but under what circumstances are bringing them together once again. Love gets in the way when underhanded dealings are set into motion.

I loved this book with the rollercoaster ride of this storyline and the steam in this book was definitely hawt. This is a book that I can truly recommend.

Wicked Lies is the fourth book in the Saints & Sinners series and tells the story of Wilder and Lake.

 

I’ve been loving every book in the Saints & Sinners series, so I was really excited when I saw Wicked Lies on my kindle! Something that I really love about this series is that each book is about a different couple, but there’s a storyline that connects every book together. It’s really exciting to figure out what and who the ‘problem’ is for these characters. It’s weirdly explained, but I don’t want to spoil too much haha. So if you want to pick up one of these books, I recommend reading all of them so you can truly enjoy and understand the story! 

Wicked Lies is about Wilder and Lake. They have a history together, and when they finally meet again, it’s hard to resist each other. But they both have secrets and Lake isn’t afraid to lie about them… I really liked reading in both perspectives, I think that Wilder and Lake are amazing characters, and I couldn’t wait to see them together. It was also really nice to read about the other characters in the Saint & Sinners series again!

Wicked Lies was another great book in the Saints & Sinners series, and I didn’t expect anything else! Tori Fox is such an amazing Romance author and I love that she always puts something ‘real’ in her stories, her characters struggle but they get their happy endings. Like I mentioned before, I recommend reading all the books in the Saints & Sinners series, especially if you’re a fan of Rock Star Romance with spice and drama!

Lake Hawkins (h) finds herself in a compromising position and has to hurt the ones she loves because she got a favor that got her out of a bad situation. She reconnects with Wilder Reed (H), whom she met a few years ago and shared a moment with, but now she has to lie to him to keep her secrets, even if she wants to tell him the truth, she knows he’ll react poorly. It may be too late to tell the truth when they get too close.

I didn’t read a synopsis before starting the book, so I thought it would be a MFM book, especially since there was mention of a threesome between Lake, Wilder, and Knox. It was mentioned frequently as the romance developed, considering Knox didn’t show up, and they took the opportunity to spend time together without him. At first, I was confused about how Lake quickly forgot about Knox when she seemed interested in them both. However, it quickly became apparent that she didn’t need him present; she was more interested in Wilder.

🎶 It's getting dark and it's all too quiet. And I can't trust anything now. And it's coming over you like it's all a big mistake 🎶

Wilder is persistent throughout the book about pursuing Lake, and she is hesitant because she has secrets she is keeping from him.However, his charm wins her over, and she deals with the consequences eventually. She hates that she is getting closer to him while keeping secrets, but she has also never felt this way before. The two gravitate towards each other, and while she wants to keep her distance, she can't seem to. Wilder notices that she has her secrets, but he has his secrets, so he doesn't push her too hard in the book's first half. Of course, all good things come to an end. The drama follows, and there will be hateful words said to each other that will definitely hurt you if you love them.

Without spoiling what happened, I was disappointed that Lake insisted that Wilder could tell her the truth and confess what he was hiding, but the moment he did she needed space from him. Her reaction was understandable because of what she learned, but it was a bit hypocritical because she had told him that she wanted him to be transparent about what he was dealing with. If she wasn’t going to accept him upon him telling her about his past, then it’s something she shouldn’t have said to him. It felt like she backtracked and was afraid of him, when he was the same person. He would never harm her and it was a one-time situation that haunted him, so holding that event against him was not my favorite. It was one of the reasons the story went downhill, in that moment she saw a different side of him, even though she claimed she was there for him. It took a while for her to process and she came around, but I disliked that she villianized him for it, when he would have understood if it was the other way around.

🎶 Stood there and watched you walk away. From everything we had. But I still mean every word I said to you 🎶

The romance peaked, and then the secrets were exposed and instantly came crashing down. Expect intense moments between the FMC and MMC; the hate sex will add tension to the book. The unknown will create elements of betrayal and threaten the happiness of the relationship and the trust between Wilder and Lake. While she has her reasoning for keeping information hidden from him, he doesn’t quite understand, so he does push her away. There is a push and pull from Wilder; he almost hates himself for still wanting her even though she hurt him. The second half of the book has redemption arcs and attempts to gain forgiveness, not only Lake wanting to gain Wilder’s trust, but also the side characters.

¸♡ OVERALL ♡¸.•

It was honestly an interesting read with dark elements. Some unexpected turn of events took me off-guard near the end, but it all had a proper closure ending. There was even a good follow-up to the ending to know what life is like for Wilder and Lake. Upon reading, you’ll love that it doesn’t leave off on a cliffhanger ending or wondering what happened with them. It gives you enough to feel good about the ending.

Wicked Lies is the story of two people who aren't looking for love, but once they are reunited they soon learn it has found them. These two had a one night stand a while ago with the thought that they'd never see one another again, but then Lake makes a reappearance in Wilder's life and he can't seem to stay away from her, it's like she's a magnet pulling him in. But he doesn't do love, the thought of it sends him reeling, but he also can't do without Lake...

Once again Ms. Fox has given us a well penned story that we can't help but become obsessed with, the instant I started reading I was completely hooked. This wasn't an easy fall as there is a lot going on in the lives of both our characters and that definitely muddies the waters between them at times, but their hearts never give up on them. Just keeps pushing them together and forcing them to see what is standing before them... I loved watching these two fall, their story put a nice little squeeze on my heart and left me with one heck of book hangover. One I'm still feeling a few days later. I cannot wait to see what is next for these characters, this series is quickly becoming one of my favorite rocker series!! Highly recommend!!

After the way Dirty secret ended, I was highly anticipating for this book.
This was Wilder and Lake's story.
First half of the book is in line with Knox and Saylor's story. Was interesting to see their story from another point of view.
We got to see how Lake became part of their tour team and why it was her handwriting on them notes. This is interconnected so reading previous books is essential. I loved how Knox fell in love and hard. He was just so delicious 😋 in every way. My goodness me, the steamy scenes were exactly that steamy as f##k. Tori writes the best Spicy scenes.
But his world got shattered when he found out about the betrayal by Lake.
I actually loved Lake. Seems she has the worst luck in life. Now she is facing a man she meet years ago and never forgot (Knox never forgot either). She has no choice but to hurt him.
What I loved most about her was that despite her running away, she is adamant and didn't want to give up. She will win his love back..
As always it's great seeing rest of the crew and how they're getting on with their better half.
I would love to see some weddings and babies in the up coming story.
Right back to the book and then Tori hits you with a massive twist!!! I did guess half of it but not for the right reason. Wow finally everything makes sense. The suspense we have been put through in all the books,is finally cleared. I throughly enjoyed all of these books.
Please read trigger warnings as their is dark themes.
I can't wait for Roan because I just want to see that man smile for once!!!!
Also, I am so intrigued by Carter West! Will we get a story about him? 🤣 What can I say, I have a thing for the bad guys. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Have you ever come across a series that had the ability to hold your attention in a way that no other has in a very king time ? That played on all your emotions to the point you would find yourself speechless one minute and yelling outta frustration the next? That made your heart feel like it was beating out of your chest , made you smile , made you cry and kept you rooting so freaking hard . Well Tori Fox’s saints and sinners series is that series for me . Omg . Each installment each couple is so unique , so beautifully written and quite simply addicting. I never thought it would be possible to have a favorite. But Lake and Wilder just might be the exception. This is so much more then your typical rock star romance . It’s a journey about love and heartbreak and second chances . It’s filled with angst , humor , witty banter , love , passion , secrets , lies , betrayal, revelations , second chances, mystery, intrigue, suspense, family , friendships and characters that are so likable and relatable not to mention extremely multi layered you cannot stop your self from becoming completely invested . Tori knocks it out of the ballpark every single time . No really I can say with all certainty that I’ve never picked up a book of hers I haven’t absolutely adored . As per usual, all my expectations were exceeded, I was completely blown away in all the best ways . Devouring every single word well into the early morning hours .Wicked Lies is a 10/10 .

This was an intense read filled with nothing but, cloak-and-dagger stuff it was a great read.

I enjoyed the character Lake. She was a fun character I loved her sense of humor even Wilder had an awesome sense of humor in a teasing kind of way but, the guy let his emotions get to him way too much and not in a positive way.

I am not a rockstar fan so I thought I would give the genre a chance once again and I am glad I did because we enjoyed the story with all its mystery and suspense. It was filled with a ton of emotion and characters who were holding some very dark secrets.

Loved how easily Wilder & and Lake were falling for one another their chemistry is off the charts their sexual hookups are super hot. Felt that there was this instant connection with one another.

The ending was mind-blowing I can't say that we saw all that playing out the way it did but, it was a nice surprise that we did not see coming and we love that. Secrets & Lies and & deceit came to life as we turned the pages it was an awesome read. A brand new author and looking forward to picking up other books in this series. My only other thought is I wished that Lake's name would have been cleared in her father's eyes because she is the one who sacrificed so much of herself to protect the one she loved and you have to wonder in the end was it even worth it?

Second Chance

I struggled in the very first few chapters because there is a lot going on, but it finally grabbed me and I couldn't stop reading. The tangle of lies and secrets were adding up and I couldn't stop until I found out everything. I figured some of it out, but I was still shocked how it all tied together in the end. I loved Wilder's personality and it had me hooked instantly. I found myself giggling and smiling at so much. I felt for Lake and I related to her need to take care of the people she cares about.

Lake is a fallen social lite, working as a stripper to help pay back her ex's debts when she gets given the opportunity to make all that go away with a few simple tasks she needs to follow.

Wilder is a rockstar who doesn't do relationships. He's a bit of a golden retriever with a surfer boy look and charm for days and living his best life, only he has a bit of a dark past that seems to be rearing its ugly head again.

They meet on tour and the chemistry is undeniable. They had a one-night stand years ago and it was a night they both couldn't forget. Now both are harboring secrets that could ruin everything. Their lives are more entangled than they could have ever imagined.

Things We Do For Love

Wilder and Lake's story was an uphill battle. Wilder still played by what his demons of the past and Lake was dealing with the consequences of her bad decisions.

I have siblings that I love dearly but I'm also strong enough to give Tough Love and not allow the actions of my family dictate and/or ruin my future. Lake literally allowed her brother to take advantage of her kindness resulting in her owing a ton of debt (that he was truly responsible for), being disowned by her family and socialite circle and having to struggle to live day by day

In a moment of desperation Lake took on a job that would put her face to face with Wilder. Lake realizes what her assignment is and feels terrible about the amount of lies, secrets and deception is lingering behind her actions.

I was genuinely glad when Lake was caught and confronted because she needed a reality check and own up to her responsibilities and actions. Once the truth came out she saw that Wilder was willing to help her out of a sticky situation.

A story about two lost souls reconnecting only to find themselves falling in love, dealing with betrayal, heartache and deception only to find that their love was strong enough to face any obstacle.

Lake and Wilder have their secrets, it’s a matter of who’s is more scandalous and which will be outed first.

Lake has a debt to repay, she didn’t purposely seek Wilder out. After he recognizes her from a past fling it’s made her job much more difficult.

Wilder has a dark secret from his past that he and his band mates have covered up. During this tour though, mysterious messages keep appearing threatening that the truth will come out. They already have enough to deal with, will this tour survive the scandal?

I loved this, I found myself at the edge of my seat trying to figure out what secret Wilder had, who was really behind Lake’s job, and would their growing situation-ship survive the fallout. I thought both main characters made a great mix, the personalities of the band mates were great for supporting characters, and each scene was well put together.

This is a great book for anyone that likes rockstar romances, hookups to relationships, drug dealer themes, and some sprinkles of brothers best friend.

I have been eagerly waiting for Wilder's book and it was totally worth it. Tori delivered everything I expected and more. I was ready with a box of tissue as Tori tends to pull a lot of emotions from me. Once again, she wrecked my heart and mended it back together. I was emotionally drained by the end of the read. I lost myself in the read from the first page and finished it in a single sitting. Wilder and Lake have known each other a long time and when they meet again sparks fly. The spice is off the charts and there chemistry is sizzling hot. I liked how there relationship developed. They both have there own share of secrets which affects there relationship. Though I loved both Lake and Wilder I was a bit perplexed with Lake for being upset with Wilder as he did not share the secrets when she herself did not reveal her own with him. I loved how they grew despite there struggles. The mystery of the unknown kept me on the edge throughout the read. I was lost in the read long after finishing it. Cannot wait for Roan's book next. The anticipation and anxiety I felt wait for this installment to come out was SO WORTH IT !! Tori will have you yelling, screaming, crying no loving these characters ALL in one chapter !! I wish there was a spot to give extra stars because it is SO WORTH IT !!

Wilder Reed has a deep dark secret that NO ONE knows about .. or do they .. and he will go to the ends of the earth to protect his sister and band members because they are ALL FAMILY !! Except when the messages start again he doesn’t know who could be doing this to him ?? How could the notes being following him around the state on tour ?? And just plain WHY !! Even when he is trying to move on and give his ..FINALLY .. to one woman !!

Lake Hawkins has her own troubles, so when a mysterious gentleman comes to cloud and offers her an out she GRABS it !! Except what she has to do is t not something she feels comfortable with and HATES doing it BUT it is keeping her ALIVE !!

Can these two get through tall of the deceit and drama and just plain get to love each other ??

Wicked Lies is the fourth book in the series and I have been waiting on it for so long. I am glad it is finally here. I enjoyed getting to know more about Wilder, especially after Knox’s story. Wilder and Lake’s story brought everything full circle and put a little bow on it. I had forgotten about Lake’s run-in with the band so I was glad for the context and recap.

I am still loving this series. Each book has pulled me deeper into the lives of the Black Hearts family. While probably able to be read as a standalone, I highly suggest starting from the beginning. Each book builds on the others. They also manage to close story gaps and answer questions I didn’t even realize existed. I am sad that Roan’s story will be the end of the series but I’m super excited to see how it all ends and if he can finally get things together with Riot. Fingers crossed.

I’ve been waiting for Wilder and Lake’s story and it did not disappoint. We got a glimpse of Lake in Knox and Saylor’s story and I was excited for more. Her past is intertwined with Wilder and Knox. Lake was a socialite and had it all until her brother got mixed up in something she needed to help him out of and she lost everything. Her luck with men hasn’t been so great either, and when a man shows up and has the answer to all her prayers, she jumps at it and all she has to do is make one phone call. She had no idea that call would put her in contact again with Wilder, but not in the same circumstances as before. When these two see each other again, sparks fly and he wants her for himself, but both have deep secrets they are keeping and when her’s comes to light, well, let’s just say everyone will be against her. These two have a long hard road ahead of them, but if they can be honest with each other, they might just make it. I’m excited for Roan’s book next.

Wicked Lies will have you reading on the edge of your seat. Kept you on your toes as to what would happen next.

This book follows Wilder & Lake. Wilder is a rockstar with a surfer boy mentality. Wilder also has a dark past that he has hidden away. Lake is a socialite who’s been black listed by her friends & family due to trying to cover for her baby brother. So when Lake takes a job with this music management company to help take care of ghost from her past little does she know that this job entails vengeance for someone she’s never met.. but what happens when feelings become involved with the man she’s supposed to ruin?!

If you love romantic suspense & friends-enemies-lovers definitely check out this book!!

How do you forgive someone who is responsible for the notes and threats you have been receiving. Was it all a lie. Falling in love with someone and then finding out all the lies.
Was anything real?
Lake felt she had no choice when she agreed to deliver those notes. She never knew why she was delivering them and she never knew who they were from. She just knew that all her problems were taken care of when she made that phone call. She felt she had no other choice.
But as time went on the closer she and Wilder got the more guilty she felt. What would happen when/if he found out.
Their story had you on the edge of your seat. Never knowing how or when Wilder would find out and what would happen if he did.
I could not put this story down could not wait to see what happened next. Tori Fox is such an amazing author and writes the best stories. Another incredible read for this super series. I cannot wait for more.

Love this book. Love Wilder and Lake’s romance story. OMG Tori Fox has written another amazing edition to the Saints and Sinners Series! This book was broken up into two parts: the before and the after. Throughout this series, readers are learning that someone is threatening the band but they don’t know who. This book finally gives the answer to the question. Lake is contacted by a man who wants her to call a specific number. The person behind the specific number makes Lake leave scary notes for Wilder to find. While she is doing this, readers can see that she is starting to fall for Wilder. When the band finds out that Lake is behind the notes, Lake ends up running. This tears Wilder apart. Lake ends up coming back and explaining herself and the band forgives her. Love how these two end up together. Worth the read

What happens when West gets back involved and the story of what happened so many years ago unfolds? Man, this one I could not put down.

This story got me through a scary book I read before this. Lol I know stupid. But omg I enjoyed the banter between these two characters and I recommend his book. Well basically any book I recommend unless I tell you all no. But that’s rare I will review.

Wicked Lies is much more than a rock romance, there is deceit, lies, and twists. Wilder and Lake are finally getting their second chance but underhanded deals are making things difficult. I loved how we know all the characters through the rest of the series, but each couple has their own past and trouble that effects them in the present. The one problem that this couple has are the lies between them but in the end they work things out.

I really enjoyed this book and as always I loved these characters. The Saints and Sinners series is amazing and as an avid reader of Tori Fox, I would not expect anything else. I love how there is always something in her book that the readers can relate to as well as realistic, I mean like real life struggles. I recommend this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Wicked Lies is book 4 in the Saints & Sinners series by Tori Fox. It's Wilder and Lake's book. I enjoyed it a lot! Wilder and Lake definitely have explosive chemistry because wow, I was fanning myself.

These two have met before in the past but now Lake is back to work a job for the band that is opening up for Wilder's band. They run into each other behind the scenes and things begin to unravel. They both realize they still have feelings for one another besides the one night filled of passion with Wilder's friend/bandmate, Knox. This time, however, Lake is Wilder's and no one else's.

There's plenty of lies and secrets that begin to unravel and some of them puts Lake in a difficult position. These two went through a lot, secrets, lies, betrayal, and in the end they overcome all that together and get their HEA.

If you like a little bit of saint but a whole lot of sin, then the Saints and Sinners series is the one for you, Tori Fox unleashes another delicious couple in Wilder and Lake, there are lies, and there are lies and wicked lies are full of them in this story full of twists and turns, nothing is easy about this couples road to a happily ever after, the before and the after dynamic of this book was a clever idea, when Lake finds herself in a no-win situation she does what she thinks is right, even if means suffering the wrath of Wilder and the band, but this couples have something special they just need to be able to get past the lies and betrayal to meet on the other side and have the life together for of passion and love that they deserve.

I really enjoyed reading this book and getting both their perspectives. I loved their characters from the previous books and I couldn’t wait to find out their story! It was another amazing addition to the Saints and Sinners series and I loved seeing the other characters again!

I had been anxiously awaiting this story, so I was excited to see it drop onto my Kindle! This series can be read as standalone, but they are interconnected, so it's better to read each of them in order. This is book #4. Wilder and Lake have a history from long ago, so when they reconnect, it doesn't take much for them to REALLY reconnect! There are secrets being withheld though, especially on Lake's part (her's is a big one!). There's a push and pull in this story that will really frustrate you, but that's how you know that they are well-written characters - you care about what happens to them! Above all, this is a story about 2 people who were given a second chance and one man who isn't about to let that chance slip away. AH, Wilder when he is arguing for them is PERFECTION!

That is what she thought till she learned who she would be writing the notes to.

The before part of this book runs on the same timeline as Dirty Secrets and we see some of Knox and Saylors' story from a new perspective.
We then get the aftermath of the hotel room confrontation as more secrets in this tangled Web get exposed.
I already had a good idea of who Wilder was but seeing him without Knox, we see more than fun, backbone or taking direction from Knox. Lake's reaction to Wilder opening up frustrated me as she promised it wouldn't change things and the comparison she made was due to Saylor's action not Wilder's.
I'm still trying to figure of Roan and the conclusion to the Saints.

Wicked Lies is a story of two people who are reunited by work, not looking for love, but figuring out love has found them. Wilder and Lake had a one-night stand years ago with the intention of never seeing one another again. Until Lake makes a reappearance in his life and he can't seem to stay away.
An agreement was made, feelings came to the surface, but lies between the two made one walk away.

I am not much of a rockstar romance girl, but this book had me hooked. The chemistry between these two was off the charts and you could just feel their love. And lets not forget Knox and Slayer. I cannot wait to see what is next for these characters. I am now invested!!

This is the next instalment in the series and as always yes the main males are part of a rock band but this is not a rock story. These stories are more and this is something that Toris Fox excels at. She pushes the main pulse of our male characters to the back as this is our side story and the main feel is our two main characters and in this case it is Wilder and Lake.

This as always with Tori is a page turnover and is a roller coaster of a ride and emotions. Tori Fox has a way of pulling you in to the story and also the characters.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

So excited for the next book.

I love this series and this author. I'm a HUGE rockstar romance reader and she definitely knows how to write them!

Wilder is a rockstar and the life of the party with a charming smile. Perfect for someone hiding secrets. At least until Lake appears and was supposed to be a fling. Somehow, his heart had different intentions until her wicked lies threaten to ruin it all.

Wilder and Lake's push and pull relationship gave the story the perfect amount of angst and tension. Her secrets and his dark past, the way their relationship grew and then was obliterated followed by the way it was mended, made them perfect for each other. Loved them so much!

🚫Closure:
I've been patiently waiting for Wilder and Lake's story and Tori brought ALL the feels. So many secrets, so much betrayal, And such a suspenseful plot. Plus, the chemistry between these characters was explosive, in and out of the bedroom. Honestly, I can't recommend this series enough and want everyone to read it. So excited to devour the next one.
