Throne of Malice

A thrilling sequel that held me captivated till the end. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for our fearless heroes next. With danger and suspense around every corner there’s no telling what will happen.

Another 2 stars for this book. I struggled quite a bit with reading through this book, even more than the first one. I’m quite disappointed, since this promised so much from the synopsis, and honestly, the covers for both books are great too. But it isn’t a good read. I was mainly annoyed by how even this second book had a lot of grammatical errors, and it was like the author hadn’t cared to find an editor or proofread it at all, it felt unfinished, and not ready to publish.

The book picks up where the last one, Throne of Deceit left off. Elise is on the run from the King, her father who is hunting her down, because he still wants immortality, and that cannot happen while she threatens his throne. This story was mostly spent with Elise and Destan on the run, and although there is a little bit more depth to these characters, and how the romance is slowly forming, but isn’t instant, it just doesn’t feel like enough for a sequel to the previous book to me. The characters also have so many secrets that aren’t really uncovered. I was patiently waiting, thinking that maybe the answers to my questions from the previous book would be answered, but I was left even more confused honestly, and it felt like a waste of my time.

The ending was the only thing that left me a bit intrigued since it ended on a cliffhanger, though the rest of the book like the first won’t be memorable to me by the next day, and I don’t think I’ll be continuing any further books. I’ve read much better books, so I have to score it pretty low again, sadly. I just couldn’t get into this plot and writing and it felt very lacking.

Throne of Malice book two in the Wicked Crown series and picks up where book one left off. Elise is on the run, her father is hunting her, and he is determined to get what it is that he wants…immortality. Destan is at Elise’s side and he has some idea of the things that she will have to face. He also knows that if she is to survive and have any chance at winning the war that is coming that she must train…so he takes her to the one place her father has tried to cut off completely…Darth.
Throne of Malice by K.N. Lee is the continuation of this engaging fantasy series. Elise and Destan spend most of the story on the run, but it does not diminish the storyline by any means. I appreciate that the author continues the story where book one left off. Elise is learning about who she is and that she has an important future ahead of her. I like the hints of romance that are sparking between her and Destan. I also appreciate that it’s not “insta-love.” I’ll admit I giggled a bit when Elise catches the eye of another when they reach their destination, but I mentally urged her to be cautious because I don’t fully trust this one.
There are some really interesting scenes with other characters in this book as well. The pieces are coming together beautifully and I devoured this book in no time flat. There isn’t anything that I don’t like about this book except…I NEED MORE!! Haha!
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I am eagerly anticipating the next book in this series and hope that I don’t have to wait too long as I need to know what happens next. This book ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, nothing too crazy, but it will have you thinking about this book long after you have finished reading it. If you’ve read the first book and enjoyed it then I encourage you to grab this one and continue the series.

I love this character. She is young and has been isolated from everyone. Growing up with just her protective mother and grandmother, she is kind and loving. She wants to go out and see the world. And doesn't understand why her father has kept her isolated and seems to hate her. We now know that Elise's father (a King and powerful wizard) has made a pack with the "devil" to gain immortality, and is going after anyone with magical powers. And he knows that she will be his greatest adversary. After the King killed her mother and sends an evil creature to kill her, Destan takes her to a temple to train for battle, and learn how to use her powers. As she gains in strength and power, they learn her heritage might not just be what they thought. She is also something else. But what? She and Destan grow close, but her grandmother Inora is also working to help her. But will her help also cause problems between Elise and Destan. Inora is trying gain a kingdom for Elise by marriage to a prince. What will Elise do when her old love and new love are both vying for her attention? And Elise can't trust anyone. Her father has enlisted many peoples and magical beings to hunt her down. Those whom she trusts could betray her. Her father will find her, it's just a matter of time.

4,5* Intriguing and adventurous with an unforeseen cliffhanger

I was really patiently waiting for this part thinking that maybe all my questions would be answered but what I got here was even more confusing. But it's good, the story is getting more and more interesting, intriguing. It pulled me in and I was completely engrossed from the first page until the last. Not everything is obvious and rest got me thinking, second guessing deeds of the other characters. I knew it will be cliffhanger but what happened at the end just shocked me and I'm still thinking about it. Now I need more, I need next part.

A fantastic read!! The story pulled me in and I was completely engrossed from the first page until the last. Elise is on the run with Destan, he takes her to the temple to train, and to learn how to use her powers. Her father will stop at nothing to get her power, will she be strong enough to fight him? This book has a compelling storyline, great characters, and plenty of excitement and intrigue to keep a reader captivated. I loved this book and would highly recommend reading!

Elise and Destan are on the run in the second book and they end up at Wusan Temple. While there we watch Elise get stronger both physically and learn to harness her powers. Other characters show up in the story as were learn what is happening outside Wusan Temple as battle lines start to be drawn. Just an interesting concept and I did like how the story spans a lot of time so it is more believable that Elise could become the fighter she is meant to be. A few hints are dropped of what might come and the ending was a bit startling. Just a fun story.

An amazing book! I read and read and read until the very last page. It’s so interesting that I gobbled it up. The adventure (with a sparkle of romance) continues as Elise discovers some of her new powers. She’s on the run with Destan and discovers a new world out there. But can she become strong enough to fight her father? With so many foes out there, you are just not sure who to trust. I hope Book 3 is out VERY soon!

Elise is in training to use magic against her father the King. He had turned ruthless mage that is selling himself and others to get stronger magic. Not having anything to do with his daughter, Elise for years, now he wants her dead and their is a bounty for her head. Elise has a protector, Destan, that has special powers also and are they are falling for each other? Keep reading this continuing series.

The book begins where book 1 finishes and because I did not read book 1, it took me a long while to connect the dots.

Though interesting it could not hold on to my attention for extended periods.

This book felt like it needed more character development. It was a really quick read. The basic premise was good but I felt like I was missing half the story.

Better than the 1st book

Although this story was better and more intriguing, it still needed edits, although much better editing than the 1st book.
The story is picking up a better place, the characters are fantastic and I greatly appreciate the world building
