I'm having a difficult time trying to word my thoughts on this book. It was great for the most part, which is why I rated it four stars, but the issue that's causing my difficulty is the use of domestic abuse in the end as the way that character got close to Asher. She claimed her husband abused her so that way, Asher would take her in until she could get herself settled, and she would make him fall in love with her in the meantime because she had been in love with him since they hooked up in college. That is the issue right there. I felt like it cheapened the story. But I can also see that, just as he thought, she was basically off her rocker and wasn't stable, especially since she had admitted to stalking him and after she found out he had a girlfriend, wanted to destroy the relationship. So yes, she's crazy, so it also makes sense that she would do that. Anyway, having been in an abusive household growing up, it made that part of the story really not sit right with me since that's close to my heart (I'm fine, y'all, I've worked through it), but it wasn't triggering or anything, it just felt weird. Wrong, maybe? I don't know. Otherwise, the story was great. Loved the pacing and reading something quick that got to the point was great, especially the tension between the characters :)
