After a bitter divorce, all cookbook author Allison Sawyer needs is some peace—and to lose herself in a kitchen, whipping up delectable meals. But the rustic retreat in the mountains offers more than seclusion. It offers one friendly and very fine neighbor.

A private investigator looking to make a fresh start, Brock is intrigued by Allison. Who or what is she running from? And how can he convince her that he'll do anything to protect her…and to have the chance to love her?

I wished the author would have said what became of the person in the gray car that Allison ex-husband had spying on her. I also wished that the ex-husband had a more active role in the story.
I enjoyed Brock, Allison and Family. The little boy instantly claimed Brock, and Brock’s manly interest in Allison was immediate. But Allison is on high alert and doesn’t trust anyone. Brock is that man that you just want to trust and trust that he may want to snuggle too. Allison could use some human kindness and that exactly what she has found in Brock.
Allison and Dudley had gone thru a lot. Thus leaving Allison vulnerable and Leary to trust. However enters Brock who has integrity and an instant connection with Allison and Dudley. As time would show trust goes a long way. Once the walls were down and fate would have Allison and Brock come together.
