“Once I got hooked into the first few chapters, I couldn’t put it down. I just had to know what happens next, not to mention, this is one insanely hot love story.” Amazon review The sci-fi and romance genre are two of my favourites, so of course, I knew I was going to enjoy my time whilst reading this. The characters have such wonderful depth and detail, which is what I always appreciate whilst reading. A sizzling fated mates, enemies-to-lovers Sci-Fi Fantasy Romance.
Gianna Romano is known as the African Italian American high fashion icon. She is famous for her outrageous behaviour and colourful life choices. In reality, she is a woman with no racial identity, a dysfunctional family, and the victim of a horrific rape. Her father’s words are her only a woman's value is less than the value of a man. As if life is trying to prove her father right, she is taken from Earth by alien slavers and sold to the highest bidder. To add insult to the mockery, she is “saved” by a man who is the alien version of her controlling father. Mistaking her feelings for fear, she does what she knows run. Unfortunately, to his species, that is the worst offense.
Zaan of House Marni is what Tarrassians call “perfect.” He is the beloved son of an Elder, the only heir of the powerful House Marni, and the youngest ever Warrior to become a High Commander. He has rules, and he expects everyone to follow them. However, unlike his elitist peers, he treasures all people, and everyone has value. His species rules the Universe, yet the Tarrassians are slowly dying, soon becoming extinct.
The arrival of humans changes everything.
The Sign, an ancient mating mark, tells the world Zaan’s human belongs to him; only he already knows that, but for a very different reason. A reason he would rather keep to himself, considering her outrageous behaviour.
Together they learn there is a thin line between love and hate, courage and fear. They turn a stormy relationship into an epic love story that will eventually alter the entire world's history.
The Warrior Queen covers sensitive topics, such as violence, sexual abuse, gender discrimination, suicide attempt and sexual descriptions. Please, consider such triggers when purchasing the book

So let me start by saying I really enjoyed this book. It has a lot of the things I like to see like, forced proximity, learning new cultures, learning from your past and so on. The world building is really good too. The only part that bother me was the first half of the book. I know it was suppose to be heavy and dark however it didn’t feel like it flowed right and kept me engaged. However, around the 40% all that changed. I became fully engaged and couldn’t put the story down. Zaan is an butt and he never stops to ask why are how can I help. He has rules to keep her safe but he doesn’t ask why she is the way she is. He never really stops to get to know Gia. Gia had/has issues and she dealt with them how she knew how. She wasn’t trying to hurt him presay but she needed to protect herself. Most of the misunderstanding stems all from zaan. Had he took one moment and told her everything and explain this and that, and asked her questions things would have been different. I know Gia wouldn’t have told him everything but that’s why he needed to learn human culture. Which he never really does. This book takes you through many emotions some you may not like and some may trigger you. However, in the end this author does a great job of showing how one event can change you forever and it takes a village to help you recover. Side note I hate Gia’s father. I have other things to say but I will spoil the book for others. Just give this one a try. My rating for this book is 4.5 stars only because of the first half of the book and the very ending and I’m not explaining because spoilers
Ok. What the hell?! What does Aria put in her books? They are so addictive!
Gianna is such a badass with extremely low self confidence due to a terrible time on earth.
Enter Zaan. I really thought I would love him from the get go, but he frustrated the life out of me 🫠 He blew so hot and cold. I wanted to grab him and scream at him to make his mind up 😂
This was a slow burn romance but it was never boring. I loved the build up of their relationship and the struggles they went through. The constant arguing and the angst throughout the book was pure entertainment gold!
I now understand why this book was such a big one compared to Queen of Monsters. There’s no way the book would have been as good without Gianna and Zaan constantly at each others throats.
My heart broke for Jade at Natalia and Tannons wedding. I felt irrationally angry on her behalf.
So glad that Zaan got over his fear and was able to show Gianna how much he cared for her and how special she was.
“I don’t even understand why I am still standing. Why am I still alive? Can’t people just die of pain?” “You need to learn how to bargain, my beautiful.” “I am in Hell, but it smells like my safe space.”
Alien romance with tropes like fated and rejected mates, forced proximity, and enemies to lovers. A great continuation of the previous book in the series, The Queen of Monsters.
The FMC, Gianna, was an interesting character with a dark and difficult past. I liked her inner monologue and thoughts about her issues and struggles. Even though she might have looked fragile and weak compared to the aliens, she was strong and fierce and didn’t need anyone to tell her what to do. The title Warrior Queen really fits her as a character!
I liked the relationship development and the slow burn between Gianna and the MMC, Zaan. There were times I was really frustrated with Zaan and his actions. He had a lot of rules for Gianna but never explained them or really asked questions of her. There were times when I really disliked him, but also times when I really liked him as a character. From the outside, he seemed like a monster, but on the inside, he was surprisingly sweet and cuddly.
The world-building was well-written, and the world continued to be interesting. The storyline itself was engaging without any dull moments.
It was nice to see familiar characters from the previous book, like Natalia and Jade. I haven’t read the first book in the series, The Ice Queen, yet, but it’s on my TBR.
Please check the trigger warnings before reading!
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
What can I say? This book was so amazing, but infuriating at the same time. They are both very stubborn characters, but only because they so deeply care about one another.
The males in this series are all very bossy, annoying, stubborn and infuriating. Their love is over the roof though. They will never hurt a woman physically and they care for them so much.
I fell in love with Zaan in this book even more and I would definitely read it again! ❤️
I am so grateful to Aria and BBPR for gifting me an ARC of this book! I truly enjoyed it!
◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦
⮞ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ⮜ Gianna has been between my fave characters, I loved her inner monologues about her struggles and how she knew her issues and did not just pretend she has none. Her struggles with different issues like anorexia, self-harming, and panic attacks were pretty harsh to read about and navigate together with her. I felt her struggles and It wasn't easy, but I loved the fact she got the help needed by the people around her, and eventually her issues subsided. I loved the fact that even tho she was so fragile compared to the alien people she was such a strong soul and such a badass. Jade made me laugh in the middle of the night. I snorted so many times in the middle of the night, her dirty mouth was the best. I have saved so many quotes related to her, especially the fact she was biting people - that scene made it hard for me not to laugh and wake up my husband. Zaan was the cherry on top, the way he was communicating with the humans was beyond hilarious. Calling Jade, female Jade and so many more other things that are worth reading! He is the epitome of a big monster on the outside and a hairy, fuzzy, cuddly bear on the inside. I loved seeing him vulnerable.
⮞ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⮜ The world-building, well, first is an alien world that's where the action is happening most of the time. Their gear, transportation, food, and hair accessories made me want to live there. Having a brush that checks your hair and applies conditioner to it depending on the hair type? Yes, please! The world in itself is such a beautiful one, it actually made me think a bit about the Avatar movie because of the colors and how colorful everything was, but also pretty dangerous.
⮞ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝/𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 ⮜ I loved the fact that I was two chapters in and I was laughing and terrified at the same time of what is happening. The book had no dull moment, it started strong and ended strong and it was such a wild ride. I loved the characters - almost all of them were likable including the enemies, for some reason the enemy in the story was down on getting Jade anyway even tho she bites people, that scene was so hilarious. The communication between Zaan and Gianna was a whirlwind of communication issues, language barriers, and stubbornness from Zaan which made all their scenes very funny but also very sweet - some of them at least, the majority were funny. On this occasion, I found out that I hate rules and perhaps developed some new kinks. I have saved a lot of scenes from the book because they made me laugh or they made me contemplate some stuff. The book will keep you on your toes, you've got funny moments that will make you laugh, some scary moments that will make you contemplate some stuff, and the whole story that will make you love it from page one to the end.
⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜ The story contains spice, like a lot, and lots of sexual tension. There is more sexual tension than actual spicy scenes. There are triggers, such as rape, abuse (mental and physical), self-harm, anorexia, panic attacks, and other scenes that involve blood and killing.
Yet another wonderful instalment from @ariamossi. The warrior queen is the 3rd book in the Tarrassian saga and what a book it is. I really enjoyed ‘The ice queen’ and ‘The queen of monsters’, but this book took the series to a whole new level. Although I had previously read the other books in the saga, this is an interconnected standalone, so can easily be read and understood without having to read the previous books. Having said that, I felt like I was more invested in the characters having read the others. Gianna is beautiful soul with so much fight and spirit within her. Her Tarrassian journey is truly heart-warming and her relationship with Zaan is definitely like being on a rollercoaster. One minute I loved him, the next he was frustrating me, but in the end his character really shines through and we see how he was destined for Gianna all along. This is a powerful story, but ultimately a true enemies to lovers fantasy romance. The slow-burn was intense at times, but left me wanting more every time I had to put it down. Once again @ariamossi writing is impeccable. She is a truly talented author. If you haven’t read The Tarrassian Saga then you are really missing out. I would recommend to everyone, even if you’re new to fantasy. It’s a great place to start. I’m already looking forward to book four.
Tropes: alien romance. enemies-to-lovers. touch her and you die. fated mates. rejected mates. forced proximity. high angst romance. stalker romance. discovering hidden powers. empowering female. overcoming trauma. soul mates. alien romance. fantasy romance. obsessed with her. diverse characters. LGBTQ+ fantasy characters. first person. dual POV. TRIGGER WARNINGS: The Warrior Queen is an adult Sci-fi Fantasy Romance. 18+ This book deals with sensitive topics: off-page rape, violence against women, gender inequality, enslaved species, the extermination of species, racial identity, violence, eating disorders/ anorexia, self-harming, off-page suicide attempt (vague mentions), PTSD, graphic description of sexual situations between consenting adults. Spice level: 5. The Tarrassian Saga supports diversity and inclusion. There are characters from different species, races, ethnicities, faiths, gender identities and sexual orientations. The male MC comes with his own warnings: obsessive-compulsive behaviour, stalking tendencies, overbearing, and controlling. Fated mates’ connection, with a slow-paced insta-love, because these two are stubborn. Like all the books in the series, The Warrior Queen is a standalone title with a complete HEA.
I have been putting off reading this, because quite honestly the book is nearly the size of a house brick. I am so glad I finally god that vexing stick out from between my cheeks and flew in.
I cannot even fathom the fact I have finished this book. What am I going to do now? I could cry, I’m not going to accept the fact that I will now need to wait for the other books to be released because it means I will be leaving the Tarrassian world for a little while. A place so magical, it will own a piece of this book lovers heart. Forever.
Gianna, I fell in love with from the beginning of this book. A beautiful soul, a true warrior in every sense, so deserving of her own story. I can’t explain how empowered I feel as a woman after coming across such an incredibly written character such as Gianna. The title The Warrior Queen is so fitting, in more ways than one. Zaan however, game me some mixed emotions. I loved him, hated him, could have bit him and then loved him again. He’s a bit like the British weather, positivity frustrating. You’ll understand if you read the book.
If you couldn’t tell by now out of the 3 books, The Monster Queen is my fav. Possibly because of a particular sphinx or maybe because it was the first book in the saga I had read, I’m not even sure. I just know I adore it. However, if you aren’t a fan of fantasy and I could possibly convince you to read at least one, it would be this one. It may be the longest, it may also be the 3rd book but in my personal opinion, it is the most powerful.
This marks the third installment in the Tarrassian Saga, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next book (and a story about Leo). I've thoroughly enjoyed the series thus far and have high expectations for what’s to come.
The narrative centers on Gianna and Zaan, and let me tell you, it was quite the rollercoaster! Reading this felt like being glued to a romantic comedy, yelling at the screen for the characters to "Turn Around" or "Don't Leave It Like That." You know how it is—when you're watching from the sidelines, it's easy to see what should happen next. Despite the tension of their will-they-won't-they relationship, the book was a delightful read. The focus remained on Gianna and Zaan as they navigate their evolving relationship, facing various challenges along the way.
Gianna is a fiercely independent character who has endured unimaginable hardships, including being abducted by aliens and paired with a particularly infuriating Tarrassian. But let me tell you, she stands her ground! She showcases incredible strength, confronts her fears, and ultimately grows beyond her past traumas. I admired her boldness and the fierce attitude she displayed; her sass is exactly how I would want to respond if I ever found myself in Zaan's clutches.
Now, let’s discuss Zaan! This guy/alien—brought out some serious emotions in me. His possessiveness is on another level. While it was frustrating at times, I can’t deny that I found some enjoyment in it. Despite his overprotective nature and peculiar rules, Zaan genuinely means well. By the end of the book, I was relieved to see him loosen up a bit and give Gianna a smidgen of freedom.
Their relationship is undeniably complex. On one hand, I was puzzled by Gianna’s willingness to change for Zaan, yet I found myself rooting for their union more than ever! Ultimately, I came to understand why Gianna adapted for Zaan; it was something she needed. The same goes for Zaan—his journey of opening up and grasping human emotions leads him to a deeper understanding of our perspectives.
An alien romance starts out with humans being saved from alien slavers. A standard amount of world building for romantasy books explores the alien planet of Tarrassia with a pair of fated inter species mates. This book features dual POV which is something I personally enjoyed here as the main male character is a serious authoritarian type thus understanding his inner workings was valuable to the book.
Please read trigger warnings before reading as there are several aspects touched upon and expanded upon further in some cases which some may find difficult.
My experience with alien romances is limited and I found the enslaved women at the start of the book unrelatable. They reminded me of high school queen bees and I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to get into it. I’m glad I stuck with it, I love fated mate books which incorporate enemies to lovers and this book did just that.
The lead female character overcomes trauma throughout the relationship and at times I felt the story took too long or over explored some of this. All in all I did like her and was rooting for the relationship to flourish.
These could be read stand alone but I felt the back story you get in the books predecessors help provide context and more info on the world so would recommend reading those.
My main gripes that avoid this getting a higher star rating are: 1) repetition of the word vexing. I’m sorry but this drove me insane at times. 2) some chapters were overly long for my liking and in my personal opinion, unnecessarily so. 3) kilt - as someone who is Scottish the description of the clothes being worn does not stack with what a kilt is and I’m not talking about it being white instead of tartan.
All in all a solid 4 stars, I would recommend the book for someone who likes a romantasy with fated mates and forced proximity. I would equally read more from the author and will be reading the next instalment.
This book was just everything and more I needed in my alien romance! I will say check the TW before as some topics might be triggering for some.
We go into this without knowing too much about Gianna as she manged to run away from the Tarrassians on day 1 and we know by the end of book 2 she has been found by her mate Zaan and something isn't quite right as he goes to Natalia & Tannon for help looking after her while looking in pain and distressed himself.
Gianna is a very beautiful supermodel with Aftican & Italian heritage and early on we learn she actually wanted to be a Marine, where her controlling father is of very high rank and we also learn about the trauma she has suffered while surrounded in that environment at a young age. This trauma changes the outcome of her adult life, including why she became a supermodel.
Gianna broke my heart with her backstory and even some of the things she did as a reaction to certain situations. I just wanted to give her a hug and be like no don't do that! She doesn't want to be Zaan mate, and the fact he lives by rules and seems to see everything black and white just felt like how she grew up.
Zaan is the High Comander of the Blood Fleet and at times I wanted him to listen and understand more but for someone who has been searching for their mate since they were 16 and seeing others around him find theirs he doesn't understand why Gianna is so reluctant.
Their story is the longest so far, but it was done so well it didn't just try to fix their issues, and then everything was all happy it was a lot more organic with things still not perfect, as always with this series it's not just about spice, the characters are so fully formed and the plot both between the MC's and the main theme was brilliant and I love how we get big chunks of other characters.
Firstly let me say sci-fi is not my usual genre but sci-fi fantasy is fast becoming something I enjoy. Secondly, I commend the authors for their unique world building that includes different names for time, days, weeks, years, seasons and celestial bodies and eventhough you can mostly guess what the words mean by the context of the sentence or the MCs reveals their meaning later in the story, having a glossary at the beginning of the book would be beneficial to the reader. That being said I went into this book knowing it was steamy and if it got too descriptive for my liking I could just scan the paragraph(s), what I didn't expect is the smut talk which I'm not a fan of but it wasn't overly done and the storyline was so compelling I had to continue with the story because I became invested in the characters the first night I started reading. This is a long book so I lost a few nights of good sleep lol. The characters are definitely morally gray and there were times I wanted to shake Gianna or knock some sense into Zaan but there is growth in the characters by the end of the book it just took some mistakes and bad choices brought on by past trauma and cultural impact that they took a while to work through. I don't want to say the story ended on a cliffhanger per say but it definitely has some loose ends to tie up and I'm guessing the author has several more books in this series coming and I really want to tell her I need the next book now lol. I haven't read the first two books in the series yet but they are next on my buy and read list. If you like steamy smut with morally gray characters with baggage that grow by the end of the book, funny and entertaining side characters and sci-fi fantasy romance I definitely recommend this book and series.
Many thanks to Matador and Aria Mossi for the advanced copy of The Warrior Queen via NetGalley, in return for my honest and unbiased review. Quick note: I don’t recap plots in my reviews, as it’s easy enough to read the book’s synopsis and blurbs, I purely focus on my feelings & opinions of how the books makes me feel.
Although the writing style was not to my liking, this book really sucked me in and I found I couldn’t put it down. It drew me in and was fun and distracting, definitely an escapist read. The writing straddles the line between romance and erotica at times, but has enough of a fantasy/sci-fi plotline to keep it going, and I will be seeking out the other books in the series.
As I mentioned, the writing style wasn’t to my liking. Although I am a fan of an exclamation mark, Mossi uses too many even for me. Sentences are often fragmented, clauses are confused and generally the overall tone and mood can come across quite scattered – often due to the overuse of the exclamation marks.
Overall, once you get used to the interesting writing style (which seems to temper a bit around the 55-60% mark), the story does draw you in. Some of the control aspects are questionable, but overall the story is female-empowering and respectful. I recommend this as a light, escapist read for someone looking for a spicy, sci-fi story.
Moods: adventurous, spicy Tropes: enemies/friends to lovers, redemption/dark past, soulmates/fated mates Pace: medium Character development: strong Plot or character driven: 50/50 Diversity: high Spice: 4/5
Trigger warnings: Eating Disorder, Rape, Self Harm, Sexual abuse/assault/harassment, Slut shaming
The Warrior Queen is book three in the Tarrassian Saga. I strongly recommend you read them in order just because it makes the experience better. However, each book is an individual story and follows a different couple. I agree with other reviews; this author is good at inserting the previous novels into each new book without overloading information. It helps even if you read them in order, as a reminder of what happened before.
I love the diversity of the characters in this series. It’s unrealistic and annoying when aliens just happen to ‘kidnap’ white female humans. I think this series, as a whole, embraces all the beautiful differences between humans. This is what I like to call an inclusive book. Different races, species, cultures, sexual orientations and beliefs are presented as something to celebrate and embrace. I read the other first two books in the series, and I think the love stories were my favourite parts. The Warrior Queen couple is intense, with a lot of passion and angst. Their love story is sizzling hot, but the plot of the Warrior Queen is even better. This book is more fantasy, my favourite, than sci-fi, and there isn’t a dull moment. The plot is full-on.
The female protagonist is a bit broken and fragile, yet she becomes an inspiring leader when push comes to shove. As I read this book, I found myself saving inspiring quotes. It’s just one of those stories that stay with you. Here’s my favourite quote: "Loving you gave me the clarity I needed to see myself, the real me. Some people are something on their own, but most are something because of others".
Please explain to me why I have never picked up a sci-Fi romance before in my entire life! I am not going to lie, I did not anticipate enjoying this book nearly as much as I did.
I was HOOKED. I don’t even know when it happened but I remember there being one particular chapter or moment and all of a sudden it was 1am and I couldn’t put it down.
The characters were lovable and so relatable. I found myself laughing and crying with them. Aching with them and squealing out love with them.
Gia is a godsend of a character. Sometimes she confused me, but also her depression and pessimism are things I have related to before in my own life, and therefore I really connected with her.
And Zaan was so stereotypically alien and the perfect gentleman. At times I didn’t understand his feelings either, but overall I adored him and wanted an alien hunk for l I myself. I mean, he’s perfect and such a wears his heart on his sleeve, head deep in love type of man. Hard not to grow attached.
Their growth individually and together was utter perfection. And the world building and environment that was created was magical. And astonishing complex but so simple still.
If you are looking for a in-depth, steamy romance, with fantasy/sci-Fi vibes and great easy to read chapters, THEN PICK UP THIS BOOK.
Please. I really need to talk about these weirdly adorable creatures and my undying love for them, that is so unexpected but real. It kinda scares me, actually, how much I loved this 🤣
I do love a good alien romance and Aria does an Alien romance justice. I mean she has all the awesome elements, an abduction, Terror for being trapped, misunderstanding of intentions, understanding, and most of all love. The beauty of this series is that all the women's stories intertwine so we saw Gianna in all the other previous books. We saw her story via the women's POV and now we get the whole story.
Gianna is used to men who are uncaring and who don't consider her at all. She has made a life out of a bad situation and she s not healed from that. All her action thus far is to avoid a situation of uncaring and being trapped in a situation with a man
Gianna starts very strong-willed and unable to understand. She later softens to her match and that is where the love and the real story starts
I loved the terror and the realness of what Gianna was truly feeling in that situation. I felt like the timeframe and actions of the characters seem correct to me if this situation was true. The things I didn't love were the hair comparison and care that seemed off for a mix raced woman - didn't match real life to me.
since to me, it seemed like her race had very little to do with her situation I am not sure it needed to be mentioned as much as it was.
Overall I did enjoy this read and I am ready for Jude's story
"Your hair has the color of love, my beautiful Lorra."

✨The Review:
The Warrior Queen is the third book in The Tarrassian Saga by Aria Mossi. I was lucky enough to receive this arc and this is my honest review.
Let's get straight to the point. The first half of the book had lots of world and character building, and though I enjoyed it as I have to admit I have not read the first two books, I was not engaged right off the bat. However!! After about half way through things really picked up!
These characters were both interesting in their own ways, I definitely loved Gia way more than Zaan. She was so feisty and strong, especially after all the things she has gone through. I wasn't a fan of the miscommunication between them but I guess as they are different species you can forgive that!
After reading this it has definitely made me want to go back and read the first two books as the snippets of their stories are in this but I want the whole experience! I don't read a lot of alien romances (Just IPB 😂) but this has made me want to read others as well!
✨Alien romance. ✨Enemies-to-lovers. ✨Touch her and you 💀. ✨Fated mates. ✨Rejected mates. ✨Forced proximity. ✨High angst romance. ✨Stalker romance. ✨Discovering hidden powers. ✨Empowering female. ✨Overcoming trauma. ✨Obsessed with her. ✨Diverse characters. ….. and so much more!!!
Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️✨(4.5) / 5
Thoughts 💭:
The Warrior Queen by Aria Mossi is the third book in The Tarrassian Saga series. This is an interconnected standalone series but I’d recommend you to read them in order to avoid confusion. Also be sure to read TW before starting this book!
I’ve been in love with Aria’s writing ever since I arc read The Queen of Monsters (book two in this series) and I’ve been wanting to this book for so long and I finally got chance to read it! And let me tell you this book DID NOT DISAPPOINT at all!!!
I loved every single thing about this book- the world building, the main characters, the storyline, the entire sci-fi concept was just amazing!!
My favorite character has to be Gianna Romano (our FMC). I loved how story and fierce she was- a total baddie! I loved her character since the very beginning and this title truly goes so well for her- The Warrior Queen.
Let’s talk about Zaan- the MMC. I honestly had love and hate relationship with his characters. Although he has best interests for Gianna, he did seem too bossy towards her which I didn’t like but at the same time he truly cared for her. And I love how both of them so stubborn lol.
Overall, I’d highly recommend you guys to read this book! It was such a great book with such amazing characters! ❤️❤️
“No one can punish us the way we punish ourselves”
Ok so I knew I missed Tarrassia but I didn’t actually realise how much until I was thrown back in.
The world that Aria has created for this series is unlike no other, the thought and details really bring this breathtaking world to life on paper and I honestly want to visit.
Given I’d probably not survive the span but still.
I knew I was going to enjoy this book so much. But what I didn’t expect was that Aria seems to have this innate ability to allow you to find little pieces of yourself in every character she writes.
I completely connected with the FMC in book 2 so I really didn’t expect to like Gianna the FMC in this book as much, but I found that I loved her just for such different reasons.
I’m trying not to give too much away in this review, even though I really do want to rattle on about it forever. Just trust me when I say this book is a journey of self discovery, healing and all the other beautiful things that come along with living the life that is meant for you.
So if you’re a fan of kick ass females and over protective aliens, I highly recommend this series.
But please check your triggers because it gets deep.
This is my first book by Ari Mossi. I absolutely loved her writing and characters. This will not be my last book by this author.
This story follows Gianna who is a model and Zaan, an alien warrior who saves her from slavers. I have to say that this book took me by surprise. I was expecting a fantasy book but what I got was a mixture of contemporary and science fiction. I wasn't sure if this was going to be my kind of book but I was completely blown away by how much I enjoyed this story. It had the feel of a fantasy but took place on another planet. I think this is why I enjoyed the story so much because it did have that fantasy vibe with warriors and action. The characters were very well written and I immediately fell for Gianna who was strong and so snarky! Zaan is the cinnamon roll. He has a hard exterior but a heart of gold who immediately fell for Gianna and would do anything for her. The world building set up the storyline for future books about other characters that were introduced. I am very much looking forward to reading the others within this series. This book gets 5 stars.
I was apprehensive starting this one as it’s not my usual choice. I’m normally a Romance/ Dark Romance reader with the occasional dabble in Romantasy. This was a bit heavy on the Fantasy for me and it took a while to get into the swing of things, however, I am so glad I stuck with it and finished it. The world that Aria has created within these books is just incredible. The characters, storylines, plots… everything, it just sucks you in and doesn’t let go! Although part of an Adult Sci-Fi Romance Series, each book is a standalone and as someone who hasn’t read the two prior to this, I can honestly say I didn’t feel that I was missing information. If you are looking for books where you can fall into another world and watch the relationships between humans and aliens grow, intertwine and blossom, then these books are for you! At the heart of it, it truly is an Enemies to Lovers, Fated Mate Romantasy Book with a sprinkling of spice thrown in for good measure.
Let me start this review by saying Aria Mossi is one of the most incredible authors I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. Her writing is just superb, the world building is like no other I’ve ever read, and the character developments are insanely good.
After reading The Ice Queen and The Queen of monsters (this one being my absolute fave) I thought it would be difficult to top it up but (with no surprises) Aria did it with The Warrior Queen.
Gianna is a true force to be reckoned with even if she doesn’t realise it herself due to her lack of self esteem. She is an amazing FMC. Zaan let’s just say I wanted to punch him most of the time and shake him senseless for him to decide what he wanted. I forgave him in the end because he really cares for Gianna 🥹
Enemies to lovers is my absolute favourite trope and thanks to Aria’s books sci-fi fantasy is quickly becoming one of my fave genres. The slow burning in this books was addictive and the reason why this book is considerably thicker than the other 2 on the series.
I strongly advise reading the trigger warnings, but if you do and you’re up to it then buckle up and enjoy the ride.
As always, Aria Mossi’s ability to engross the reader into a whole new world AND make the world believe and so easy to comprehend was incredible. I enjoyed how each story so far goes back to the moment all of the girls were abducted and shows each of their own experiences and emotions surrounding their capture.
Gianna is a strong character who has been through hell and while she often frustrated me with her stubbornness and naivety, ultimately her strength was admirable and she became a very likeable character - especially with how compassionate she is.
Zaan was really hard for me to like on the other hand. He is possessive and obsessive but to quite an uncomfortable degree for me. I thought that he could have reined it in or something, especially since he knew of Gianna’s trauma’s. I really hated his rules and how condescending he was to Gianna. I liked the whole element of the Lorrah moon and how it reflected Gianna’s eyes and also how protective of women he is. But his desire to punish was a little too Christian Grey for my liking 🤣
Overall, it was a nice and easy read and it had a multitude of likeable characters with really good world building.

Every time I read The Warrior Queen, it is a difficult read at times. Not because of the writing but because of the memories it brings back and the ghosts of scars long faded it reawakens.
Despite this, I absolutely adore The Warrior Queen as I can relate a lot to Gianna. I feel her pain and anguish as if it is my own, and I cheer for her every step of the way. No matter how many times I read and despite knowing the outcome, I feel anxious for her every time. And I wanna punch Zaan upside the head 😂 He is definitely the most frustrating of the Tarrassians we have come across so far! Regardless, I am happy when they both finally sort things out between them. When Gianna finally accepts and realises she needs him, it makes my heart soar, I cheer and let out a sigh of relief.
I always love the way Aria paints a picture with her words, she beautifully describes each person and race, and I am able to picture them clearly in my mind, as such I want to draw each and every one of them! I love the way Tarrassians welcome and accept every race with open arms and with no discrimination, and I really wish we could have a world like that.
When Aria describes Lorra, I felt a burning desire to go see it, I am so sad it doesn't exist! But at least I can draw Lorra and make it real that way.
Despite being an adult (supposedly), I have my own big rabbit that I am not ashamed to admit I hug every night to go to sleep. She makes me feel safe, just like Zaan does for Gianna.
Favourite Quotes;
"This is not the Devil. I am sure of it because Satan himself couldn’t be so full of shit"
"Well, it’s mainly Jade texting crazy things and Natalia encouraging the madness. There is a naughty streak to her and Jade always brings it out" (Accurate description for me and Leah 🤣)
"asking for help doesn’t make you weak" (we all should remember)

Where to start with this book? Firstly this was my first experience of alien romance and it did not disappoint.
Gianna is an aloof, stubborn human woman, Zaan is the larger than life copper skinned behemoth Tarrassian Male. She is stubborn and independent, he is stubborn and strict and you'd think these 2 would be like opposing magnets and yet something keeps bringing them back together despite Gia's reluctance to be mated to Zaan.
Gianna thinks she is beyond help and healing and feels unlovable and yet despite the gruff authorative manner of Zaan, he is exactly what she needs. This book had me laughing at Gia's sass, swooning at Zaan's devotion and wanting to punch a pillow in frustration at their 'will they won't they' back and forth. I came in to this book having not read the first 2 in the series but it worked perfectly as a standalone too.

It had been far too long since I had last read an alien romance and this book really scratched that itch for me. This is book 3 in a series of standalones, and the first book I have read from the series.
We follow the story of Gianna - entering into the unknown of no longer being on Earth, suddenly acquiring a hot as heck Tarrassian mate, and having to process past and present traumas and fears.
This story was energetic. The way it was written was so full of life and kept me engaged the entire time and there was just so much packed in this story - from the action to all the different and unique characters that were introduced. The world building and lore were fantastic too.
There was a lot of complexity and challenges going on with the relationship between Gianna and Zaan. Obviously, a bit of miscommunication is to be expected when its two different species involved, and it made this story a complete rollercoaster. It was a lot of hot and cold as their relationship evolved. But by the end I was truly rooting for them, both of their backstories had me feeling all sorts of emotions.
The suspension in their relationship progress also really added to this story. It was dual POV, but it wasn't a constant back and forth, so it left a bit of mystery as to the other MCs thoughts during certain moments.
This is my first alien romance book. I thought I'd give it a shot when I got the chance to read The Warrior Queen. The book is 530 pages so my first thought was oops, maybe I should have chosen a shorter book. But it wasn't something I noticed. It gets exciting 2 or 3 pages into the book and it continues all the time. The book is well written.
Gianna FMC, is a woman with a dark past that is very much reflected in her personality. Independent, tough and she has a hard time letting anyone in, until she meets Zaan and his intense, staring gaze.
Zaan MMC is a humanoid alien who is a bit controlling but he does it with good intentions. He calls Gianna Lorra which Gianna doesn't appreciate at all until she finds out why.
The book contanis fated mates, in a slightly different way, at least from what I'm used to. I have a penchant for fated mates books so that's a big plus.
I enjoy watching Gianna and Zaan's relationship slowly develop, even though I could get a little frustrated with Zaan at times.
Thank you so much Aria Mossi and @BOOK babes PR for the ARC
I liked how there is a little background to Giannas character from the outset as I feel that without this it might have been a bit more difficult to warm to her. She is a frustrating character in the beginning but the more you learn about her previous life the more it is understandable. By chapter 13 it becomes more obvious why she is the way she is and you really start to feel more for her but also want her to give Zaan a chance. Just as You feel that there is finally a Breakthrough between the pair, there are more twists in the tale that will keep you guessing what is going to happen next.
Unlike queen of monsters, this story is all about taking back power and not letting people walk all over you. It really is a story of overcoming fears and self worth and learning how to love yourself and overcoming past events to make you stronger.
This book had me crying, laughing, and kicking my feet. I loved the writing and the world building, I think Aria creates such amazing worlds and really shows how "alien" everything is, compared to the human world. The world building is also easy to follow and understand but complex enough to have a full-fledged universe.
Gianna is one of my favourite FMCs. She is strong and courageous but also loving. She has a dark past and a dark inner monologue, but it is (unfortunately) relatable to a lot of people who have faced somewhat similar circumstances. What she went through and how she was affected by it was heart crushing. It feels like a great representation of how trauma can affect people.
I enjoyed Zaan's character. Despite his tough exterior and actions, he felt like a soft, warm hug who was doing his best to love and care for Gianna.
I loved seeing some of the characters in Aria's other books, and I'm absolutely dying to read more about Jade!
First alien romance read ever and I freakin loved it!
I honestly had ZERO expectations going into this, I really wasn't convinced alien romance was for me but this book has me gripped. Once I got into it I couldn't put it down and devoured this book in 2 days.
The writing style was a bit different for me, and felt the use of an ! Was over used but honestly my ADHD ass did relate to the frustration expressed by the character.
This story is utterly heartbreaking due to many miscommunication tropes but it has the best HEA. I cried like a baby, screamed in frustration, laughed and totally fell in love with the characters and the world. I will absolutely be reading the rest of the series now.
