Pastor Porter Everything changed that Sunday morning. Six years at Rolling Rock Church and every service was the same. Until the most perfect specimen I’d ever seen walked in. Long, strawberry blonde hair, fuzzy little sweater, and perfect legs. I’m a pillar of the community, a leader. But when I’m around her, I’m filled with primal needs. I’m shameless, I’m sick! But I can’t help myself — I must possess this sweet angel.
Skylar The Pastor looks enormous behind that podium. Almost Godly. My belly flutters as I take in his powerful, brooding energy. When he looks at me, it’s as if his eyes are exploring every part of my body. When I look at him, I’m mesmerized. And I have a feeling he knows… I’m young, I’m confused. And if Pastor Porter looks at me that way again, I don't know what I’ll end up doing..
Note: Pleasing the Pastor is a stand-alone age gap romance novel featuring a younger woman and older male, a nasty little Daddy kink, lots of steam, an overbearing mother and a splendid little HEA ending.
Daisy Jane is a forbidden love romance author, inspired by VC Andrews and more . When she's not penning a hot age gap novel or dreaming up steamy stories, she's enjoying the sunshine and warmth at her home in California. She enjoys reading, true crime, exercise and, of course, romance.
Not gonna lie, I skimmed the shit out of this book. But in all fairness, there’s only so much repetitive inner monologue I can take. It took three months but this is my first rant of the year.
I’m only going to compare this to Priest once. I think what makes this more salacious is that the girl is young and pure. Not only is the preacher corrupting his own ethics, he’s corrupting her and that is freaking hot.
Jesus! Plus this guy hasn’t had sex in six years. They’re basically both virgins.
The creeper shit is not sexy. Is this really the road we need to take? Nothing says hot like desperation.
Too many words, not enough action. Like seriously, I don’t need you to tell me how often he jacks off or how often her panties are wet. Yes, I understand you want it in the most deviant way.
If you want this to be a slow burn great, but can we live that more through their actions than what’s running through their minds?
I feel like the title and the plot was misleading. If I came into this thinking it was gonna be an angsty slow burn and not a kinky preacher daddy Dom story, I probably would’ve enjoyed it far more than I did.
The last 20% was alright. The writer crammed so much into those 50 or so pages. If she had spread that throughout it would’ve been a huge improvement and would’ve lived up to what I had originally expected.
I felt like the pacing was weird, and a lot of the inner monologues were getting so repetitive that practically nothing was happening development-wise for the majority of the book. There was also a lot of interference from side characters.
I also didn't understand the point of including the OM drama in the first half of the story. The h actually emotionally connected to the OM, and had genuine conversations with him, as opposed to the H, whose interactions were purely physical/smut-centered. It did nothing for their relationship 😭.
I wished that the MCs actually spoke to one another like the heroine did with the OM, it would've made their relationship a lot more believable 💀. And then once we passed that point in the book, there's a year time jump where we don't get to see any development at all 😭.
⭐️⭐️ 2 “meh” stars. It was an ok read. It wasn’t unputdownable (that’s a word right? Lol). I wasn’t enthralled and NEEDING to keep reading to see what happened. It was low angst. Low drama. I found myself skimming as i was kind of bored. It wasn’t a complex read by any means. Very little character development and fairly 2 demential. Which usually means MORE smutty but this was actually tame in the sex department I would have love more heat and angst for sure! GIVE ME THE ANGST.
I have just finished this book and when I started it I thought it was just another older man younger woman story. Oh it was that but so much more. Love at first sight, lust at first sight and an awakening of a young woman. Skylar was virginal but wanted to know sex. Samuel thought all he wanted was to be the pastor to his flock. That was until he saw Skylar and then his world completely changed. I really felt the frustration this couple went through. Oh they had plenty of sexy times but sneaking around? I loved this couple so well described by really good writing and I was sorry to see them go. Loved them epilogue so much. I haven’t read this author before but if this is the sort of books she writes I will definitely be following her.

Our hero is undone the moment he sees our heroine. Can he convince her that they were meant to be together?
This is an insta-love romance with a bit of an older/young and taboo theme thrown in as well. The story is well written and easy to read with an easy to follow plot that is nonetheless quite entertaining. Our characters are also well developed and I rather like them both. A lot. They have such excellent chemistry that it is almost painful to read. Add in a bit of steam and you have a wonderful romance. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.
Highly recommended.

I absolutely devoured this story about this sexy preacher finding his sweet angel. Samuel became a preacher because he wanted to do good things for the community and to serve a higher purpose. But the moment he sees Skylar from his pulpit, he wants to claim her. He may do a few stalkerish things but it's in the name of love right? He is so obsessed with her, he cannot think straight. Skylar may be 18 but she has never even kissed a boy so her feelings for the handsome preacher are new and has her wanting to do things with him she never experienced before. If you enjoy obsessed OTT age/gap insta love romance, you will love this story by Daisy Jane.
Pastor Samuel was instant in attraction at 31 with Skylar at 18. He wanted her as his wife. And Skylar wanted Samuel as her First, and last also. He wanted to wait to she was older to be together. Fantastic age gap, and daddy play.
This book had so much potential and some parts were smoking hot, but…
Okay y’all, I love a good taboo book. Seriously, totally awesome and fun to read. Usually crazy hot in a ‘this is so wrong, but it feels so right’ kind of way. A pastor AND call me Daddy hotness? Um…yes please.
But here’s the thing, while there were moments that deeply embraced the naughty hotness promised (the moment he sets eyes on her for example) it felt like that hotness was just phoned in by the end. This is a slow burn, but it tries not to be. They take until the very end to consummate the relationship. Because apparently, saying and doing filthy things is okay, but actually doing the deed is taking it a step too far. In real life maybe. In romance that promised to be taboo and sexy? Not a fan. Particularly after everything they go through before they actually touch.
There’s also a ton of will they won’t they. And she’s worried about OM drama at one point, but she didn’t need to be. It felt forced. Then, the first they really touch? 0-60. After all of the ‘does he even like me’ it felt really fast for me. And then once again…no sexy times.
I really wanted to love this and I give it 3 stars because moments really were good, but I’m a bit dissatisfied. I wanted me of that hotness. I won’t lie. But I appreciate this book because I’ve been in a bit of a book funk and I actually finished this one.
I got a sample of this book with my kindle unlimited and in the first chapter it was looking good until one paragraph made me see red with rage and ruined the entire boonand how the author for me. Daisy Jane, you have ruined yourself for plus sizes women anywhere and anyone like myself who feels terrible for a person being judged on their looks, age or weight. Warning spoiler:
In the first chapter our male protagonist Samuel spies our Heroine in the crowd at church as he's giving a sermon and gets uncomfortable in the pants area let's say. To get rid if his horn, he makes himself look at an overweight woman whose shirt buttons have stretched over her flabby (I'm paraphrasing but these are the authors words, not mine). I mean it's fine if that's not your thing but you've just told every woman reading this book that being big will turn men off.. well that's just horrible and Daisy Jane should be absolutely ashamed of herself for even thinking it, let alone writing it for the world to see. I will never read one of her books again now just on pure principle but quite honestly the writing wasn't that good so I'm not exactly depriving myself.
chapter 8 note (bc it’s funny as hell) - im just at chapter 8 but this mf pastor is FUNNY his internal monologues and little comments and little sassy and snarky comments... he's got me giggling and kicking my feet
review - finished now this was not what i was expecting and it was refreshing. since the title was "Pastor" and not "Priest," i knew that there was going to be smexy stuff without much push or pull from his side... turns out i was right, but not in the way i thought. samuel's insistence to date for a year and just get to know each other was such a good thing to me because it showed that he really was 100% serious. man was whipped for her from day 1 but this showed it even more. their connection was sooooooo nice to read about. skylar, for everything that she went through with her mom, was still the most mature, caring, considerate and loving person ever. i love the both of them
It's more than a meh for me. 70% of the book got so repetitive and the last 30% was rushed—typical Daisy Jane's writing style. The Wild One was her best book for me but unfortunately, it's all a miss for me after that for this author.
The story went on with the Pastor fantasizing about the virgin Skylar. They never talk, they're always in their heads and that's how their chemistry felt lacking to me. They were saying it's being in love but more like being obsessed into getting in each other's private parts.
I understand putting the plot into the smut but you know what pisses me off more? Dragging and repetitive monologues just for the sake of having a plot. Heck, even the smut in here didn't do it for my liking since literally, they are in their heads all the damn time.
I absolutely loved reading Pleasing the Pastor!!! All about Skylar Adams a eighteen year old college freshman & Pastor Samuel Porter a thirty-one year old pastor. He’s been the pastor of Rolling Rock Church for six years, he’s single and everybody loves him. I’m looking to work at the Sunday School teaching the little kids. I was just hired by Helen the woman in charge of all the kid’s activities at the church. Pastor Porter took an instant liking to me, and was very pleased I would be helping out. Read about Skylar & Pastor Porter and see if her spark is mutual!!! Lots of emotion, and some very intense pleasure throughout the book!!! Definite Read!!!
2.5 ⭐️ I love the priest/pastor trope and this one was a little different and I certainly liked some aspects of it but taken as a whole it just became too long and boring, with more of their development told than shown - including the best parts! I liked that the hero was a little stalkerish and his brief, fantasy-filled solo moments were fun at first but as the book went on it became the only sexy parts there were until the end, when their time as a couple was told with time jumps. I would rather have been shown increasingly tense couple moments to create the anticipatory steam in a slow-burn (which is my favorite to read) but this became too much inner monologue interspersed with brief masturbatory moments. The steamy parts told were hot and had the potential for full-length super hot scenes, and I missed that that didn't happen. It was different to have no doubt on the pastor's part about wanting the relationship 100% (owing to the fact it is allowed for a pastor vs a priest) and I found I missed the tortured angst of that typical aspect of the priest trope. Instead we have the heroine doubting whether it will be a real relationship fueled by her friend, and a crappy, controlling mother, and that just wasn't interesting to me.
This book has a taboo story and age gap. It’s a really slow burn prescribed by the lead male character because the female character was only nineteen. It’s a respectful coupling for Skylar and Samuel. For me, the first half had too much internal dialogue. It’s not that it wasn’t enlightening, but too much distracts from the story. The second half of the book was better and told the story of Skylar and the pastor (Samuel) together. They get a beautiful and happy ending. Read On!
So I NEVER read slow burns as they are boring to me but Pleasing the Pastor was my first one that I have immensely enjoyed! It had a slight Daddy kink, age gap, and a taboo aspect that I absolutely loved that kept me reading until the end. It was extremely sweet how thought Samuel was essentially slightly obsessed with Skylar and he probably could've taken advantage of her, he didn't and was very caring of her.
Le sigh, I wanted to like this book. A forbidden age-gap romance, sign me up! Unfortunately, that's where the appeal stopped. The constant reference to her child like shoes and clothing style was very cringe. Then the instant obsession the pastor has with the FMC was odd, like how are you stalking her and you've only seen her once? It was a DNF which doesn't come easy for me and I love Daisy Jane, but this one was not it. Should I give it another go? Let me know what you think.
Ms Jane touched on some naughty themes with this sizzling story. The female main character is the star of this book with her intelligence and charm. She's not a naive ingenue, despite her lack of sexual experience. Thankfully the story leads to a satisfying conclusion.
70% slow burn and the H spent more spicy time with his own hand than he did with the h. And the h didn’t even have a clue about his Daddy fantasies until around 75%. Repetitive inner monologue and a lot of filler with the BFF and their friendship.
Heat from the first chapter but still manages a slower burn. The younger female was inexperienced but not taken advantage of. The Pastor took things slow and clarified consent regularly. Great taboo read as always!
There’s something about a pastor book that’s so hot - maybe the forbidden nature of it? Add in a big old age gap, and yes please!! This book did not disappoint. The characters were beautifully written. I usually expect these pastor books to be pure spice but this one was so much more than that!!
The spice was amazing but it was pretty predictable. You know everything was going to happen when it did. Zero drama or suspense. But the story was sweet and spicy so it’s a 3 for me.
