Seth Murray just might be the most stubborn man on the face of this plant. He refused to move back to Pickleville because of one fight with his father. That is until he gets a call saying that his dad has passed away suddenly. The first person Seth thinks about is the one man he gave up because of his stubborn pride. Five years ago, all Seth wanted was to be with Carter. Now he doesn’t know what he wants. And Carter has his own life. One that Seth certainly didn’t see coming when he finally reconnects with the man again. One that revolves around a certain blonde haired, blue-eyed little girl that completely melts Seth’s heart the minute he meets her.
Living in Southwest Michigan, April resides with her husband and two kids. She has been an avid reader for several years. Writing her first story at the age of ten, the characters in her head still won't stop telling their stories. If April isn't reading or writing she can be found outside playing with the animals or taking a long walk in the woods.

As you already know I love this series and this book is not the exception!
Seth and Carter's story is heartfelt and heartwarming , also during some of its moments I wanted to stop reading and crawl into the book to hold them both tightly.
Without saying much, Carter had to mature and go through a lot.
Seth had to learn how to live with his decisions.
When difficult circumstances bring them together, Seth and Carter had to be the men they always seemed to be.
I love Carter's family, love and acceptance of Seth being back, and oh my, Izzy!!
This is book 9 in the Pickleville series and I can honestly say, I loved every minute of it.
The journey that Seth and Carter go through is as heartbreaking as it is heartwarming. Unexpected circumstances throw them back into each other's orbits after years of distance. There were moments where I wanted to shake them both and others where I wanted to wrap them up and feed them hot chocolate. They both had to go through so much to get their well deserved HEA.
Carter needed to mature and learn a few life lessons while Seth had to come to terms with how his decisions had affected not only himself but those around them. Their connection and chemistry was amazing to witness and I absolutely adored Izzy and the rest of their family.
I can't wait to see what the author brings us next!
This has been a wonderful series and Carter and Seth are a great pair to close it out. Both men have made choices in their lives that drove them apart once and have changed them into the men they are now. When circumstances bring Seth back home, they have to get to know each other again and see what they can be and want to be to each other this time around. An emotional second chance romance with a lovely HEA.
What a wonderful 9th book in the Pickleville series. I always look forward to the next story in the series. I loved reading the first couple books prior to this one. This one did not disappoint me at all. Absolutely love these small town stories!
The story focuses on Seth, an attorney for a firm in the big city. He was working on a case when he received word that his father was brought to the hospital in Pickleville. He immediately dropped everything and drove back to his hometown. His father got through okay. However, while he was in the hospital, Seth’s childhood crush, Carter was able to help tend to Seth’s father’s farm. Carter had loved Seth but Seth left for the big city. It destroyed Carter. Carter went on to have his own farm and a wonderful daughter name Izzy. When Seth saw Carter, all the memories flooded back and he wanted to give it another shot. However, Carter had his wall up and was afraid he’d get hurt once again. That’s where I’m going to stop and have you pick up the book to read to find out what happens. Definitely a 5 stars read for me!
I absolutely love Pickleville and can’t believe that this series is ending. It makes me sad but I can go back and read them over and over again. I love small town found family. The characters are so well written and I love the low angst hometown feel to the whole series. It feels so comforting and like a nice warm blanket. We have come full circle now with Carter and Seth. These two have been friends forever and now they are finding their happy ending. Seth is coming home to help his dad and returning to the best friend he basically ghosted in an attempt to move on from his hopeless crush. Carter doesn’t know whether he can trust Seth not to leave again. It is a very fitting way to bring this series to a close. If you haven’t read the rest of these books, I strongly suggest it. None of the books take long to read and all have HEAs. The characters overlap but each one is about a different couple.
Sometimes, it's best to go home again. Seth considered his Dad and the Heaths, his only family. Seth was close to his Dad, Kyle, who always made time for him. Seth, is a classic introvert and a bit oblivious to the ways of the emotional world. Seth, works as an accountant. He preferred relationships to one and done experienes. Carter has his 3yo daughter Izzy and their dog, Snickers. He was contemplating dating but was still wary of women after his experience with Izzy's Mom, Bethany. He has trust issues and questions bringing a stranger around Izzy. Kyle had a health emergency that required Seth returning home. Seth and Carter spend time together and get to know each other again after the years of not communicating. Will Seth and/or Carter discuss their feelings? Will Kyle recover? Will Seth be willing to return home? Do Seth and Izzy get along? Good story. Fantastic family and friends. Well done! Hot cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this book. I have read other books from this author, but none other in this series. I really loved these characters. Carter and Seth had been close friends until Seth ran away to avoid his feelings for him. When his father has a heart attack, Seth rushes to see him. When Carter hears the news, he contacts Seth immediately, even though they haven't spoken in years- not for Carter's lack of trying. In spite of the circumstances causing their reunion, it was beautiful to see. These two had such great chemistry and all those wonderful feelings were still there and only continued to grow. I couldn't put this down. 5 stars.
Carter and Seth were close friends, but Seth panicked at his feelings for Carter and ran away from the small town to avoid it. When Seth Murray’s dad has a heart attack, Seth comes home to be with him. Carter Heath is glad to find that Seth is back and contacts him since Seth had made that impossible over the years. Both of them are attracted to each other and just needed time together and better communication. But will Carter be willing to trust his heart to Seth after he ghosted him all those years before? Will Seth tell him the reason why?
This was my first book by April Kelley and I will be back to read more from her. I did enjoyed this book with the sweet connection and chemistry between Seth and Carter. These two have some things to work out, alone and together, but these two get a really sweet HEA.
