This book is good to show a variety of different deserts across the world. I especially like that it included a page about icy deserts, since most books that talk about deserts talk about the heat. I also like that there was a page about sand and how the wind makes different patterns in the sand. I also like that it included a page of different cultural groups who make their homes in different deserts. This is a good book to get a look at how diverse different deserts are across the world, but sometimes with this kind of format it is hard to really see how each desert differs from one another because each category is all mixed up on one page. I think that to really use books as a teaching tool about deserts, both kinds of books are needed.
