Zander Hollis a former combat field medic is a prisoner in California's Coujee Valley State Penitentiary for a murder he has no memory of so maintains his innocence. A massive fire breaks out in the rugged, remote and heavily forested area of N. California and Zander, fellow prisoners plus 2 guards are sent out to battle the blaze.Even with his training as a medic and time in combat, Zander fights a losing battle as injuries, deaths and the fire builds. The survivors head to a remote farm where a young teenager Willa lives and hunkers down before deciding they have to leave. How will they survive, when will help arrive and are their loved ones safe, these are the questions I'm sure will be answered in future books in this great series I highly recommend.

A very good start to a new series by Saul Tanpepper. Fire on the Mountain take place in the near future wher Climate change has only gotten worse for Earth. Zander Hollander is serving time in prison for a crime he doesn't believe he committed when the prison he is in is in danger from a rapidly spreading forest fire in Northern California. Zander is sent on a mission with other inmates to bulid a firebreak to try and stop the fire from spreading to their valley but there are those who wish him harm. A very tense and edgy story with interesting characters who seem very true to life.

A great disaster tale!

FotM is a great thriller with lots of surprising twists. The characters are very interesting. The main reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars is the extremely often use of profanity. I’d love to read book 2 and discover how it all works out but I won’t because of the vulgar language.

Slight of hand robbery.

I thought it was a fair read till I got to the end just to be left hanging with the offer of more money to find out how it turns out. I'm sure it will be drug out till you can sell the third book to see the end. Because of your sly tactics I'll not read any more of these books and pass your name on to fellow readers about your unscrupulous tactics.

Great job

This book brings up some of the troubles going on right now! All the wildfires all over the country. Can it happen where you're at let it get dry enough and poof. Great job! Look forward to reading more of your work.

Oh wow

This is one of the most intense stories I've read. A group of inmates is brought to fight an out of control wildfire. Manny things go wrong some caused by nature and others caused by man. Now this group is trapped on a mountain inferno. I can't wait to read the next one.

This book was really hard for me to get into. The first few chapters were slow. Once I got into it, then I wanted to finish, only to be disappointed when I got to the end and realized it was a series. So now I'm waiting to read the other 2 books this this one.

A bit long, but the adventurous/thriller parts made it worth the while to keep going. It did end on a cliffhanger so now I feel like I need to read the next one but I’m not sure if I will. Wildfire survival thriller

This was a good story until it wasn't. I don't particularly care for series books and try to avoid them. Unfortunately, I missed that this was a series book when I picked it up. So up until the point it ended suddenly it was pretty good but I'll never know how it ends,

Well written

An interesting story with characters that are easy to relate to and love or hate. I look forward to reading more about them in the next book in the series.

Good Reading

Very good story with interesting characters and a story line that could very well happen these days with all the climate change going on around us.

Not what I expected.

A well told tale. The characters were different and to a large degree exasperating. It did keep the story moving right along.

Fire On The Mountain.

Very well written. Hard to put down. Pretty sad that some one is not guilty for a crime and gets put away for it. Time will tell.

FIRE!

There is absolutely no way to out run fire. Try as they might, the characters slowly learn this. Saul's writing is captivating and you can almost feel the heat from the blazing inferno. This is a story about a man trying to survive a wildfire and all the kraziness that started because of it.
