Dark secrets. A huge cover-up. One crime that ties them all together. With Marcus packless, Alyssa Crawford is practically forced to take the wolf shifter in. Too bad they still don’t get along, even when they’re on the same side. Alyssa wants to investigate the murder of his sister’s assailant, but Marcus wants the past to stay buried...especially since his father already admitted to the murder. A murder both Alyssa and Marcus know Marcus committed. There must be some reason his sister was targeted, though, and a reason the usually selfish and self-serving father took the fall. If Alyssa can figure out those answers, the bigger case at hand just might reach a resolution after all, but without Marcus’s cooperation, the pieces are falling into place too slowly. Now the body count is rising, and all clues point to Alyssa being next. I write horror and paranormal stories based on my vivid dreams. It's the best way that I know of to get the demons out and onto paper. I hope they haunt you and leave your heart pumping like they do me.
I established my first LLC. when I was ten years old. My friends were my first employees. Other than sharing my stories with others, I love making videos on YouTube. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million. I've directed two movies so far. You can find them on YouTube at Super Plus Toys.
Outside of writing, I spend most of my time playing guitar or golf. Travel is also high on my list of leisure activities. I've been to seven countries within Europe and plan to visit many more in the years to come. The richness of other cultures is thrilling!
I have a pet tarantula named Venom; a dog named Emma; and cat named Ellie. They are my secret confidants to the mysterious worlds I create. I have both an American and Danish passport. Feel free to ask me more about my Polish heritage.
Some other things I enjoy are rock n' roll, public speaking, broccoli (I know, isn't that weird!), school, and heart-wrenching horror movies that leave me clinging to the seat. While I love learning, I dislike homework, disrespectful and rude people, senseless drama, and bullies. There is no room for hatred. We only have one life to live; let's do it to the best that we can and treat everyone with love and kindness.

I received a copy of this book from BookSprout but this review is my own.
I have previously read the final book in this series (I know, I know I am reading them out of order, but I didn't realise that Alpha of the Wolves was the last book in the series when I received it!), so although I do know how things turn out in the end it was good to read the lead up to those events.
In this one, Marcus is no longer the heir to his wolf pack and stays with Alyssa, a fire mage and previous girlfriend. Things are soon heating up between them, but as a cop, Alyssa just cannot let all the cases she has been working on slide, despite being suspended from the force. She just has a feeling that they are all somehow connected and she needs to try and make those links as quickly as she can to get to the bottom of everything.
I loved reading a bit more of the history between Marcus and Alyssa and with the secondary characters of Agent Starburns and El Capucha too.
The reason for my 3 stars is purely the huge amount of typos and strange words used in places that just made no sense whatsoever. I found it really distracting that every few page turns on my Kindle needed me to stop, re-read, re-read again and often ask someone else what on earth this was supposed to say! For a book that has been edited (I guess so anyway!) and gone through the beta readers and proofreaders, there were just too many errors for a smooth read in my opinion. Shame as the plot is a really good one and with a bit of polishing this story could be great!
“Spirit of the Wolves” the fifth installment in the “Call of the Wolf” series, continues to build the verse created by in Adam Dark & Matthew Thrush’s, and exploring Alyssa and Marcus story, who don’t really see eye to eye, despite of allegedly being allies. As Alyssa has to take Markus under her roof, to spare him the struggle of living on his own as a wolf without a pack. His differences spike as Alyssa insists on investigating the murder of William Furlough, the man that attacked her own sister, Marcus – who is in fact the one who exacted justice on William – would like to let things be. But as Alyssa father confessed to the murder, she is convinced that there is a lot more behind the attack that should be brought to light, a difficult thing to do with the lack of Marcus help, and a path that can only make her a target.
“Call of the Wolf” is a thrilling paranormal romance series, that entices with fast-paced action and captivates the reader with a very well-crafted fantasy world, interesting characters and intelligent plots that blends mystery and procedural tropes with fast-paced urban fantasy action.
This is book five in the Call of the Wolves series and it picks back up with Alyssa still under suspension but is allowed to work unofficially with Agent Starburns. There is a great deal of strife in the pack because Marcus has been banished and the Alpha Logan admitted to murders he didn't commit. If this isn't bad enough Alyssa and Starburns must find the answers to solving all of the murders or war is inevitable.
This book definitely defines the characters and we get deeper looks into the backstories of many characters as well as the strengthening of the dynamics between Alyssa and Marcus.
This leaves a great deal to be explored moving forward in the series so I look forward to seeing how this all plays out.
Very action packed and tension filled with multiple hooks leading into the next installment. Definitely enough questions answered as well as new ones to be explored. This should be interesting as the series moves forward so hold on it's a ride.
Alyssa’s Shadow Force partner is able to get her and Marcus in to talk with Logan Walker in the supernatural jail in hopes of getting information, but the outcome is not what they expected. Her partnership on the murder cases with Agent Starburns may be alienating El Capucha, a potential relationship with Marcus is clouding her focus, and now the Witches Council is causing turmoil on the eve of the inauguration of the new High Priestess.
There are so many plot twists that I just had to keep reading! I love this series in spite of another cliff-hanger ending and I can’t wait for the next book. I have to see where this story is going! I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
Book 5 has more secrets revealed and prejudice against other races are being seen more and more. There is an impending war coming between witches/mages and wolves. Marcus and Alyssa have a lot of hard work ahead of them to stop the prejudice between races and be accepted as a couple. We still do not find out who is taking the pups and nothing is really solved so I only gave this book four stars. My favourite character has changed to Agent Starburns, I like his wit and humour.

Alyssa and Marcus have gone separate ways in discovering why Marcus’s father banished him from the pack and made Anthony the alpha. Marcus goes to reconnoiter in the Brown wolf pack and Alyssa allies with Starburns to find a connection with William and the deceased High Priestess.
This story is full of subterfuge, attempted murder, and love interests. Some great secrets are revealed and the story keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next.
You would think my book 5 that they would start getting boring but it's not! Marcus and Alyssa Keep you entertained while finding ways to get in and stay out of trouble. Things from previous books are answered while at the same time leaving more questions for following books. However, when you have a war between paranormal races what are you expect. Marcus being kicked from his pack and Alyssa being suspended from her job definitely doesn't help the relationship.

Spirit of the Wolves was a great read with new partnerships formed on need versus trust and even more twists to the plot. We learn more about characters past which helps one gain insight on what makes them who they are today. There were more typographical and word usage errors than normal but easy to overlook with the fast paced and great story line.
This one ends with a cliff hanger and can't wait to see what happens next. Adam Dark never disappoints.

Still a very good series but the suspense is killing me. I need answers and those cases solved. Still some minor glitch that annoys me about the FMC...like if you are one of the best detectives, wouldn't you think to ask where the body was found? The suspense is good but it feels a big drag. They aren't as much as new elements as in the previous book so my interest is lessening. I am still going to keep on though. Urban fantasy series book 5/8 Fisrt person POV (Alyssa, FMC) 🌶️ Spice level: none, YA Suspense 🕵🏽♀️🕵🏽♀️🕵🏽♀️
The plot thickens. Alyssa is getting closer to solving all of the murders and the missing pack pups. She and Agent Starburns have come to realize that they are all related and it all goes back to the deceased High Priestess. But how? And what was William to the High Priestess? Knowing this might just solve the cases. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This series just gets better and better! Alyssa continues to investigate while suspended. Her partnership with Starburns brings some unexpected results. She finds herself walking a fine line between Starburns, Marcus, and El Capucha. As always, this book ends with a powerful hook. I enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Now Marcus is "suspended", by his own father. This gives Alyssia a new roommate, and both of them a chance to reconnect. And suddenly there are many admirers all around. But as Alyssia continues to look for answers to find justice, many questions remain unanswered. And people are not happy that she keeps asking questions. But the new Highpriestess knows something.

Marcus doesn't agree with Alyssa questioning his sister. Alyssa believes Cece Walker maybe the key to the link to solving all the murders. More background on Agent Starburns and surprises come to light. The action in this fifth of the series keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next.

Now if you are in the mood for some adventure and thrills stop right there. This is also a great addition to the series. This has some debate going on that catches us in it with also a mystery to be solved. Drama at its finest you could say. Marcus and Alyssa keep us enthralled mostly through this one. Watch out for the obstacles and the pitfalls that you do not get hurt.
I would give this book 5 stars, except there are way too many errors that made it a little difficult to read properly. I had to stop numerous times to try and figure out what weird was actually supposed to be there. An example: spin = skin or spin = spine. There were 5 errors within the first 10% of the book.
Highly entertaining and emotionally thrilling adventure filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. Was an action packed, edge of your seat exciting read from beginning to end.
This PNR read was well developed and entertaining throughout the pages. The characters are engaging and well written with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages.

leuk boek spannend boek 5 in de serie een aanrader voor de boek verslaafde lezers dus ren naar de boek winkel ( of de ebook shop)als je van dit type boeken houd
Well Alyssa is at it again ... still suspended but "working" off books.
Marcus is in a bigger pickle than last book ... wonder how this will turn out?
El Capucha ... I like him a bit more every book!
Agent Starburns ... seems to be coming around to Alyssa ... I'm suspicious!
As in the previous 4 books, this is a well written story with engaging characters and an action packed plot that keeps you guessing! Big suprise at the end!
I received this as an Advance Reader Copy from Booksprout with the hopes I would like it and review it.
