After Him by Kelly Finley
All for You Duet #1
Dead man talking from the grave.
Did he deserve to die and if so…why?
What part did he play in creating distance between soulmates?
Soul mates from childhood
Separated by dark events
Will they find their way back to one another and if so, how?
This was an intense, steamy, emotional journey for Cade, Redix, and for me as I read their story and willed them to a happily ever after ending, but as is true of books in a series…it might take more than one book to achieve that happy ending for Cade and Redix.
What I liked:
* Cade Bryant: ex-model, police sergeant, only child, made a pact with the devil…or was it with god, loves one man eternally, suffers without her soul mate, strong, resilient, capable, lethal, communicates well, tenacious, does what it takes…and then some
* Redix Dean: ex-model, move star, sexy, strong, caring, protective, addict, alcoholic, adored by women, cares deeply, seems a bit lost, grows quite a bit in this story, loves one woman eternally, hopes for a second chance
* The strong bond between Cade and Redix despite the issues they face
* The look at the emotional impact on Redix and Cade and how that one dark event impacted them both in different ways
* The tie-ins and hints about characters from the Come for Me series
* Cade’s parents: divorced but still together, strong, caring, capable, and there for those they love
* The thread dealing with missing women and how it is being worked out by the police – do hope they catch all the culprits
* The plot, characters, and writing
* Silas, Jameson, Penny, and other supporting characters…wonder if we will see and hear more about them in the future
* Feeling that Redix and Cade are well matched – do hope they find their way to a HEA by the end of book two.
What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* The pain that both main characters went through
* Knowing that the evil in this story is all too real
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
