This is Jo's story. Jo is a sous-chef in Tacoma where she lives with her husband, Charles, son, Nick and daughter, Tracy. The seemingly perfect married couple until Charles and Nick are killed in an automobile accident. After Jo has mourned the loss of her husband and son for over a year, she decides that she too will return to Oak Harbor to help care for her mother. She wants to rekindle her friendships with her sisters.
Jo has a big secret that she has been hiding and that her daughter does not know about. With her sisters, can she mourn her father's death, get over a damaging secret, and help her mother during her illness. Jo is the most insecure of the sisters, but I liked her.

Summertime Forgiveness is Book 3 in the Oak Harbor series about three sisters who have been estranged from their parents and from each other for years. After their father's funeral, Cora and Andrea have decided to stay at their family home to help run the inn and to take care of their mother who has a terminal illness. In this book we learn Jo's story and follow her decision whether to stay at her family home or return to her old life.
A year earlier, Jo lost her beloved husband and son in an auto accident soon followed by her estranged father's death. She decides that there are too many memories in her home so she sells her house and moves to Oak Harbor to live with her mother and sisters. She hasn't decided how long to stay but once she reconnects with her sisters, she is beginning to think that she'll stay. She's extremely fragile emotionally and it doesn't take much to make her think about returning to the city but when she begins to realize how sick her mom really is, she is inclined to stay at her family home. She was a sous chef in her past life and when she's asked to help out Chef Daniel in the restaurant, she's thrilled to help out. As Jo ad Daniel begin to spend time together, the sparks begin to fly between them. Jo feels like it's too soon for her to fall in love after the death of her husband so she wants to keep the relationship as just friends. As Jo is starting to become part of her family again, she has to decide if it's ok to start living her life again and getting rid of her grief. Will Jo and Daniel let themselves enjoy life again and have their happily ever after?
This new series is about friendship, love and loss. It's about finding yourself as you learn to love and accept your family again. The relationship between the sisters is well written and believable. This is a fun series and I can't wait to read book 4.
This is book three in An Oak Harbor Series and it is Josephine's story and it is definitely a must read. Wow this book is so emotional and you feel all the pain that Josephine is feeling as if you are there with her but how much loss can one person to through before it becomes so debilitating and breaks them apart. After all that she has lost Josephine decides to go back home to Oak Harbor to help her sister's care for there I'll mother but will she stay and help with the inn especially as she used to be a chef and has experience in the kitchen and with her emotions all over the place and the secret's that she is keeping is she really ready to settle down and become part of the family again. I absolutely love this book and how even though the sister's haven't seen each other for so long there bond is still there and they still support and take care of each other regardless of the situation and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series.
Jo returns home to regroup after learning the car accident that resulted in her husband and son's death was not an accident.
She knew her husband was stressed out at work, but he never shared the reason. Shortly after his death she learned he'd taken 1/2 a million dollars from a client's account and the investment tanked losing all the money.
His boss approached Jo after the funeral to repay the money from her insurance settlement. She refused to take his calls, blocked his number, and ignored the threat to tell her daughter. When her daughter confronts her and they argue the issue is revealed.
This is a story of family, redemption, second chances and rebuilding trust. I can't wait for book 4.
I really enjoyed Jo’s story in Summertime Forgiveness. While still grieving the loss of her father, she’s sent reeling with the death of her husband and son. She decides to pack up and sell the house, after her daughter moves out. Jo is going home to Oak Harbor. I loved how the sisters rally around to help their mother during her sickness. They may have grown apart, but they still have each other’s backs. No one knows Jo is keeping a secret and when it is revealed, it may hurt the relationship she has with her daughter. As Jo works at the Inn’s restaurant, she finds herself attracted to Chef Daniel. Will there be romance on the horizon for them? Grab your copy and see what happens.
I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
What would you do if half of your family was gone in an instant? Jo experienced the loss of her husband and son one night coming home from work. Her daughter was older so going back home was exactly what she needed. Time to heal, spend time with family and maybe find new love.
Returning home, Jo was able to mend family relationships, enjoy the time they have left with their mom and heal from secrets and the loss of her husband and son.
I love the Kimberly dedicates an entire book to each sister and coming up, friends! It helps pull the series together and allows the reader to really get to know each character.
I have really enjoyed these first 3 novels about the sisters returning home after many years following the death of their father. I have been waiting for Jo's story b/c her interactions with her sisters just seemed strange. There was clearly a secret and being able to read and learn her backstory was beautiful. I love the way the author weaves the stories of the sisters lives together - even though they have been apart for so many years. Romance seems to be building for all of the sisters - if they are willing to open up and heal. Great book - a must read.
Loved this book. It will break your heart but will mind it back together. Jo lost everything a year ago but her daughter now she comes back home to start over with her sick mom and her sisters Daniel is the chef at the inn the Hamilton family owns and when he meets jo something sparks between them. Is jo ready to move on?.

Friendships and second chances are central themes of this book. This third book in the series is Jo’s story. She is having to rebuild her life after the tragic accident involving her husband and son. Jo returns home to the love of her sisters and her mother. Lots of mixed up emotions and family dynamics are revealed.
What will happen when her daughter Tracey learns the truth about her father?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
Oh man has this family gone through a lot of trauma. This is the story of three sister's that are having to come together to help put their mom. Sentimental, heartwarming, tragic, and pulling together, making new memories.

4.5⭐️{Kindle} Best one yet. BK3 in a 10 book series. Free with KU. These are shorter books in a story continuation {180-200pgs each} based on a coastal scene of Oak Harbor. The series is hallmark like with heartwarming cast of characters. Loss, love, friendship and family. Quaint, sweet and quick reads. You’ll be vested in the Hamilton family.
This is Jo’s story in this series. She’s come home to help her sisters with her Mom. It’s an emotional story of forgiveness and new love. It’s a good continuation of the series. Thanks to the author for the early copy
Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Cherrylily ARCs and am voluntarily leaving a review. This story this family is full of love, affections, restored relationships, and new beings . cute.
This was my first read from this author. It was a good story, however the reason I gave it four stars is because it was written in the third person point of view which is a deal breaker for me.

This book was filled with so much love even with all of the tragic memories everyone had. In the end everyone found someone special. I am looking forward to reading the next story.
This is a very interesting and refreshing story. Jo made the decision to move back to Oak Harbor to help her sisters take care of their mom. This is a good decision. Read this book to see how everything goes.
I really liked this book a lot. I rated it lower due to the errors in words and grammar. The story continues with the three sisters coming to grips about their mother's illness and supporting each other.
