Thanks to a strange turn of fate, Angeline was able to reunite her father with one of his former adventurer comrades, the archmage Kasim. Now with spring approaching, Belgrieve intends to bring everyone back to Turnera with him, but the unbreakable bond between father and daughter has left the two so concerned for one another that they ironically can’t seem to find common ground. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Byaku begin training in magic, only to encounter a certain problem. Where is this ever-growing little family headed, and what will become of the young magicians-in-training?
It's actually more like a 3.5/5... It's not bad, but overall it's flat, without much going on. Any potential problem that arose just got resolved quickly, without much tension. Although I guess you can say the story's pretty realistic, since in a world without telephone, cars, trains and such, things happen slowly over great distance... All that being said, I still love the wholesome relationship between Bell and Ange, and I still love the details of rural life depicted!
Audio: 5 Stars Amazing job with the 300 different voices!
Story: I wish Japanese manga writers would stop creating ridiculous characters with exaggerated behaviors, clinginess and psycho personalities are not ok. With the exception of the creepy behavior from the daughter, the story is fun and interesting and a great balance of slice of life and adventure. Better than the anime for sure. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!
The story of Belgrieve and Angeline continues, this time in Orphen with them dealing with past time regrets of Belgrieve and Charlotte's rough past. And it continues with its interesting characters, wholesome story about family and an interesting overarching plot in the background. I probably would have liked it more if Lucille did not keep speaking for fantasy odd sentences from modern life (e.g. "Rock and Roll Baby"). It being somehow tied in to old dialects or codes for when the beastmen were slaves does not make it less grating. Charlotte's story is also resolves rather easily for my taste. Still, overall I enjoyed the story.
