Lost Kings MC #22

Rust or Ride

Rate this book
Dixon “Dex” Watts has devoted his life to the Lost Kings MC. They’re the only family he needs. He found love young, lost it, and swore to never give his heart to another woman.

Emily isn’t just another woman. She’s the best friend of a brother’s wife. Not someone who should spark emotions he thought had rusted out years ago.

Heartbreak has visited Emily one too many times. She’s busy with her career and raising her teenage sister. Relationships don’t fit into her carefully constructed world. Besides, very few men have ever met her high standards or respected her strict rules for dating.

But when the club sends Dex to protect Emily, sparks ignite and hardened hearts thaw.
They’re complete opposites with complicated pasts and incompatible lives. But somehow, they’re drawn to each other over and over.

This series is a comfort read –it’s very tame as far as MC stories go. The heroes respect their heroines (and women in general) MUCH more than the average MC series. The violence is minimal. Fun past characters pop up in every book. So, it’s always nice to visit this world. But, this book was meh.

Dex and Emily are likeable enough, they’re just bland. This had no flavor to it. There wasn’t much momentum or substance in the story. Neither of them have much going on in their lives, aside from jobs that aren’t interesting, and some past trauma that this story spins its wheels about revealing. In past books, Shelby had a kidnapping plot, a tour, and had to navigate how it works for an outlaw biker to date a celebrity! Trinity had all of her trauma, angsty relationship with Wrath to unravel, her place in the club to figure out, her new business, conflict with a rival club! Z had a whole “secret baby” AND club intrigue plot in his books! Most of the other characters and couples in this series got books where they had more going on in their plot and their lives than Dex and Emily do.

The plot of this just feels THIN. It’s literally just, “Dex and Emily get together and have a bunch of mundane scenes, like meals.” That’s it! There’s some mild conflict where she’s weirded out that he has a job managing a strip club, and she’s ignorant about MC life – but THIS far into an MC series, a heroine who is clueless about MC life is tedious. Also, been there, done that, with Hope’s plot in her books! Why are we repeating that? It doesn’t even make sense for Emily to be clueless, since her best friend is an Old Lady.

I don’t mind a quiet read. I didn’t need this book to have shoot-outs and car chase scenes. But there’s a difference between quiet and boring! This book is filled with mundane scenes where Dex and Emily don’t ask about each other’s pasts, and she thinks something like, “I’ll get him to open up eventually.” But since nothing else is going on in this story, those scenes feel like the story is stalling, just to rack up a page count.

As for the characters themselves, Emily feels like a pale imitation of Hope. And in past books, Dex was mysterious. But it turns out, he’s just got a tedious “dead wife” / guilt backstory. If a story isn't going to be plotty, that's fine - I don't mind character-driven! But this felt like it skimmed their surfaces and didn't go deep enough to even be character-driven, either.

This wasn’t terrible, Wrath and Rock and Z appeared and got some fun scenes, so I’m not gonna rate a book below 3 stars when they show up. It was nice to catch up with Serena and Grinder after their story. This book FINALLY got some momentum in the last 5 chapters, because the rest of the club got more involved. So, an actual plot came out to say hi. The last 5 chapters were interesting.

I still like this series overall, but this was a bland entry in it. And Dex and Emily don’t need 2 books (or god forbid, 3 – I hope it's just 2). Since this book was so slow and dull, it should have been combined with whatever is happening in their next book. This author REALLY needs an editor or honest friend to have a conversation with her about pacing.

Here’s hoping that when Jigsaw gets a book, it delivers some much needed flavor.

"My boycott on dating must be clouding my manners."

Rust or Ride by Autumn Jones Lake, the 22nd book in the Lost Kings MC series and the first book in the Emily/Dax duet, offers another captivating read for fans of MC Romance. This novel delves into the lives of Dax and Emily, both harboring deep emotional scars that have made them wary of love. However, when they cross paths, their connection is undeniable.

"Emily has an inner glow that can't be bought, taught, or surgically enhanced."

Dax is a man who has sworn off dating after enduring significant losses. Despite his reservations, he is drawn to Emily, a strong and protective woman dedicated to safeguarding her heart and her sister. The chemistry between Dax and Emily is palpable, but their past fears and insecurities hinder their ability to embrace their feelings fully.

"Why does this woman feel like she was made for me?"

Rust or Ride perfectly blends passion, tender romance, and heartfelt dialogue. Lake's writing immerses readers in the world of the Lost Kings MC, captivating them with each turn of the page. As a dedicated fan of the series, I can never get enough of the intricacies and dynamics between the Lost Kings and their Queens.

"You deserve peace and happiness for yourself."

Overall, Rust or Ride is another stellar addition to Autumn Jones Lake's MC series, showcasing her ability to craft compelling characters and deliver a story that resonates with readers. This book is a must-read for those who enjoy MC romance filled with depth, emotion, and unforgettable characters.

OK so I'm not too sure about this one.
I think it's because they are quite insta, they have known each other a little while but in this book things progress pretty quickly.
But then they are both unsure about starting a relationship, for different reasons so I think it was mixed messages, to me anyway.

The heroine looks after her teenage sister and has for many years, she is bf to Serena who is in a previous book with Grinder.
She doesn't know much about the club politics or life. She's only heard about it through her bf, who had a bad experience with Shadow, that's in her book.
So one issue between them is introducing her to club life.

The Hero, Dex, married his high-school sweetheart young and his wife and daughter died.
He's not a man-whore type, he's referred to as a monk at one point and him being intimate with someone is an annual event.
He works at the Crystal Ball, the strip club.
He was involved however with the Inga paternity saga, I can't remember his involvement in that but obviously not a monk.

There is small other woman drama and hints of other men interested that the heroine hasn't clocked.

So they both have traumatic events in their past.

It is dual POV.
Duet so it ends on a cliffhanger. Because of this I may revise my viewpoint when I've read the complete story.
Lots of involvement from couples from previous books so updates on them and banter.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I think I’m numb after reading that book. But… in a good way?

Ive been waiting since I picked up my first Autumn Jones Lake book 5 year ago for Dixon “Dex”‘s book.

He’s been even more of an enigma after reading Cards of Love (Knight of Swords), now known as Renegade Path, and we got a teeny tiny little peek into his world.

But seeing him with Emily, and Libby, and experience the insane protectiveness, which only comes from Autumn’s insane hot MMC’s, just brought everything to light.

Emily and Libby are a forced to be reckoned with on their own. Their fierce protectiveness around each other reminded me of my relationship with my own bratty little sisters! (Who truly aren’t little any more) The way they took Dex into their little insular family and made him a part of their whole just made my heart squeeze.

Dex’s undying loyalty to his brothers seemed to spill over a little bit as he and Emily tried to figure out how to fit into each other’s worlds.

Agony to Ashes cannot come fast enough!

How could this book have been over 400 pages and yet not one aspect of a plot existed until the last chapter?

And this was so frustrating because the character development was phenomenal. I started reading two other books in this series and they were much the same way. Sigh…

I’m a massive LOKI fan but the last couple of book couples haven’t wowed me. Grinder…nope. He’d have been better served in the background while he found his feet rather than throwing an old man who struggled with technology at me. I don’t care how much of a silver Fox he is. Give him to me when he’s found his feet and doesn’t go all caveman on the first girl he sees after getting out of prison.

And so, now we have Dex. The mystery man of the MC. The sexy bad-boy who we’ve been waiting to help out of his grief since about a million books ago when he first said he’d give it all up for just one good girl. (Not verbatim but I’m too lazy to find the actual quote)

Which is why I’m going to hold off my review till I’ve read the next book. Because I love Dex. But Emily…She didn’t intrigue me at all when she was introduced as Serena’s friend. I certainly didn’t want her for Dex. And they get together so damn fast I got whiplash…when he’s supposed to be all closed off. He’s not closed off at all. He’s wide fucking open. And I don’t wanna hear the “he was just waiting for the one” stuff. Without that push and pull there’s no plot here. There’s backstory conveniently held back when they could have spoken about it 100 times already. Which means there’s a dodgy cliffhanger…where they need to sort through their baggage. I miss the days where the LOKI were racking up dead bodies.

I may eat my words after the next book comes out. I certainly hope I do. I’ve loved this series for years.

Ok. I suppose that’s a review of sorts.

24/06/23 ETA:After reading Agony to Ashes I totally stand by this review.

cliffhanger

Not happy this is a two part book so be warned. If you like a extremely mild MC read The lost Kings MC series if for you. I was excited about Dex’s book. It didn’t meet my expectation. Notice that this was book 22. I’m a loyal reader but I just needed more action maybe a little angst. . I’ll read the next one.

The couple: Dex and Emily

Romance trope: MC
Series: Lost Kings MC
Length: 484 pages

Plot: Dex is a long-time member of the Lost Kings MC, the same club that Emily's best friend's new fiance belongs to. Because they're now hanging out in some of the same circles, they keep running into each other. But as they get to know each better, they will each have to come to terms with their own pasts and what that means for their future together.

Commentary: Dex was so much more than I was expecting. Like most fans, I wanted his story - still waters run deep, right? We've seen Dex over the years, quiet, loyal, steady. We saw him at the very beginning of the saga in Slow Burn where his first words were to Rock at Crystal Ball (and he hasn't left, apparently!). Rock's first thought about Dex was "Dex wisely kept his sparks of wisdom to himself. Shrewd as usual, he would evaluate all angles before opening his mouth" (the scene when the brothers are picking up Rock after he's been released). We also met him as Juliet's beloved cousin and Roman's mentor in Renegade Path. (if you read the books in chronological order, Renegade Path comes before the Lost Kings series and is set in that world).

We've seen him through the years in stereotypical biker situations, but he never comes off as hedonistic or skeevy. He's a gentleman biker of sorts. But we always knew that he felt deeply; that is, in fact, the genesis of his trauma. He lost those who were dearest to him and has never forgiven himself.
If life’s taught me anything, it’s to temper my desires. Emily’s not meant to be mine. She’s forbidden fruit—too full of life to be swallowed by my darkness.

That trauma is why Emily calls to his soul. He's damaged; so is she.
Prickly. She’s so, so prickly when I probe too close to her pain. It’s easy to recognize it because I’m the same fucking way.
We met Emily as Serena's friend. In Grinder/Serena's books, Grinder arranged for someone to go to Emily's house and take care of her yard. Dex was the lucky gardener. Those two were peeking at each other and denying it the whole time. Their love affair was obvious from the beginning. The story was in watching them navigate those past hurts and barriers. They were both so closed off - generous with their bodies but not their secrets. But once they decided to love, they were so sweet.

“You want clarity?” How do I express this without sounding like I want to tattoo property of Dex on her forehead? “How’s this? If I actually prayed to any higher power, I couldn’t ask for anyone more perfect than you.”

And then that ending! I cannot wait for the next book!!

P.S. Grinder was an absolute grouchy font of wisdom in this book; I'm so glad he's there for Dex.

Review

At this point, 22 books deep into this series, I’m here for the comfort of being with these characters again. I’ve loved Dex since the beginning and it was super fun finally getting to be in his head. He was incredibly sweet and the man knows what he’s doing in the bedroom (or laundry room 🤭). I really enjoyed his and Emily’s relationship. They were sweet together and he was such a sweetheart to Libby. Emily being unaccustomed to club life gave the story an early Rock & Hope feel and which was fine, it was a bit odd that she was that naive to it all given Serena was not only an old lady but had been a club girl for years. Nothing too crazy happened plot wise but as I said, I just enjoy being back in Empire. We got bits and pieces of both Dex & Emily’s past trauma but they still haven’t confided the whole story to each other yet. I’m very interested to see how that all plays out in the next book. This one did end on a dramatic cliffhanger so I’ll be reading that one next! Both of them have a bit of a martyr mentality and wear the guilt of their loved ones deaths so heavily, so it’ll be nice to see how they navigate that and let go of their pasts to find happiness.

The highlight for me was definitely seeing Dex with Juliet & Vapor again! Dex & Juliet’s relationship makes my heart so happy, I love them beyond words. She’ll forever be his little peanut 🥹 I can’t wait to hopefully see more of them and baby Atlas as we dive deeper into the support club. Dex’s moment with Hope was also very sweet. I have infinite love for our First Lady and I always love seeing that the guys do too. And of course any moment with Rock, Z, Wrath and all of favourite brothers are winners in my book 🤍

I absolutely adore Autumn's work, I've said it before and I'll say it again - she doesn't just write a story, she makes you feel that story, every emotion, every bit of humour and friendship and even the steamy parts - and she's done it yet again!!

Dex, the long awaited Dex and man, is he worth the wait! He's a genuine good guy, he makes me smile but he also makes my heart hurt... We get more insight of what happened to his wife and daughter although we don't get the full story - I'll be honest, I'm kinda dreading it because I just know that it's going to destroy me, I would put my life savings on it!

Anyway, Dex is awesome, he's got a mean streak when it comes to protecting others but that's the morn for the LOKI men, and he's finally admitted he wants Emily - there's no big epiphany that he realises he can't live without her, he just realises he wants more than friendship and goes for it!
As for Emily - I love her! She's the guardian of her teenage sister and Sheesh, she's had it tough! I didn't realise all what's been through and there's definitely more we don't know about yet - I so can't wait!!!!!

Overall, another excellent addictive book that will make you forget the real world, it's full of humour, attraction, friendship, wit and a believable story that you can't help but want to be a part off!

I absolutely loved it and I'm seriously excited for more - top marks Autumn ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I did enjoy this, but I'm going to be a broken record and say that this book needed tighter editing and then it wouldn't have needed a cliffhanger and Part 2 (please only be 2 parts). It feels like the author loves these characters so much she sits and writes them shooting the shit for pages on end, and kind of forgets to progress the storyline.

As much as I love the LOKI universe I'm just not sure there's a lot left here. Maybe a spinoff series of a new charter, or a time jump to the next generation would bring back the magic.

This is the hardest book I've had to review in a long time, and I mean that because how it played out. Obviously from my rating I enjoyed it and as usual from this author it's a must read.
But honestly I'm not sure what else I can say.
Once you open the book and see the word count you'll think I'm nuts, but I promise that you'll understand
There is so much depth to both characters and plot that I don't want to give anything away.
Cannot wait to see what the author comes up with next.

Wow, after all the waiting for Dex’s story, this book certainly did not disappoint. Dex has been mysterious in the previous books and this book gives him the stage. Loved his story so much and cannot wait for the next book. Autumn’s stories always draw you in at the start and hold you in their grip right to the last word. Another amazing book from my favourite author.

Honestly I'm really disappointed in this one. Really slow, fairly boring until perhaps 3/4 in and its just so predictable.
Honestly, its probably only worth 2 1/2 stars. The story could have easily been told in 300 pages.

Ever since Serena and Grinder’s story, I have been counting down the days that I could read Dex’s story. A quiet but powerful Lost King, he’s one I’ve been watching. “Rust or Ride” is a steamy, thrilling and action packed start to Dex and Emily’s duet and I could not put it down.

Emily is Serena’s best friend and has been raising her sister, Libby, ever since her parents were killed in a home invasion. Used to being on her own, Emily is focused on raising her sister. Dex has been an important part of the MC for years but has also been single ever since his wife passed away. Dex and Emily are in each other’s lives because of Serena and Grinder and there is a spark and connection between them.

Dex and Emily are so special and I devoured the first part of their duet in just a day. I loved the chemistry between them and I could feel it as I read. Both have had extremely difficult pasts and it’s something that connected them with both of them still hurting from it. Emily is amazing. Strong, smart and trying to give the world to her sister after losing their parents. She gives me Hope vibes since she was never near an MC until meeting a brother. I loved her fresh perspective on what the club was like. Dex is quiet but so loyal to his brothers and the club. I love how he and Emily met and were slowly more involved in each other’s lives. They moved at the perfect pace from acquaintances to friends to much more. The ending was a great cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the conclusion.

I'm 22 books into the series and I'm still in love with these characters. LOKI has definitely expanded quite a bit over the years, but I still find so much intimacy and touching family interactions between the men and women of the club. Dex has always been a mystery for sure, but the tragedy of losing a great love will of course change how a man feels about getting close to another woman. Emily was the perfect one to make him change his stance and jump into the waters again full steam ahead. As usual, this author really gave us so much passion, intense feelings and steamy encounters between the two lovers while also showing the love and tender side of taking care of family (when it came to Emily's little sister). I was worried about how fast they fell for each other and seriously connected because that usually means there will be problems later on that neither one really saw coming, and yes indeed we were left feeling sad and disappointed for not only Emily but for Dex who was left with a broken heart and unsure of the future. We will have to wait for the next installment in the series to find out if love can really surpass life when it seems to leave no choice between taking responsibilities very seriously and leaving no room for personal needs and wants. Another epic book in one of my favorite biker series.

Rust or Ride is book 22 in the Lost Kings MC Series. I feel like I say this every time, but this book has been long awaited! We've had glimpses of Dex from the very beginning and little nuggets dropped along the way. We knew he had a tragic past, but we really didn't know how deep it cut.

Seeing Dex finally open himself up after connecting with Emily and having Emily open up to Dex in return has been bitter sweet. They balance each other out well. Dex is so serious and stoic, where Emily is funny and kind of a goof. They both have a lot in common with having past demons/trauma, misplaced guilt, grief, and being super hard on themselves.

Their journey is a slow burn and their story reminds me a lot of Rock and Hope. They are completely different plots, issues, situations, and outcomes, but there are some small detailed similarities that I can see.

We also get to catch up with some awesome characters we haven't seen in awhile, and there may or may not be a ghost of LOKI past coming back to haunt them lol. I always look forward to the LOKI banter and Autumn did not disappoint with all the laugh out loud moments.

Their story does end in a cliff hanger so be prepared, there is still a lot of baggage to unload and I'm hoping we get some more of Emily's fire and sass that we witnessed in previous books. Lots more to come in LOKI Land!

Worth the wait …..

I have been waiting for Dex’s story for what seems like forever ….. and I wasn’t disappointed !!! This was the first time we’ve actually got inside Dex’s head and got his POV and heard his inner dialogue …. And I’ve got to be honest , his inner voice was heartbreaking at times. Carrying a lifetime of guilt and constantly wishing he could trade places when others were suffering was crushing . BUT on the upside , when Emily entered his crosshairs it was so damn refreshing and cute to also hear his ‘teenage like’ mumblings and doubts . At times you could literally feel his nervous energy at being totally smitten , but at the same time not wanting to scare her off. All this coming from the most quietest and dare I say most emotionally detached Brother in the Club. On paper Dex and Emily are perfect for each other . Both have suffered loss and therefore seem perfect for each other … though the story does end on a cliffhanger , Autumn Jones Lake has left us with the 2nd half of Dex’s story ready for pre-order and I couldn’t press the buttons fast enough . Her books are around 50 Chapters so by no means a short story …. And there’s no fluff. Besides the main star of the book , we are constantly being updated on all the other members of the Lost Kings family. As loyal fans of Autumn’s writing , it’s this constant checking in that has kept us hooked from Book 1 and keeps us craving more and more .

I was really looking forward to Dex’ book. But it was kind of meh 😒. Firstly it’s a long book for LOKI and I’m just not sure it needed to be. There was a lot of filler stuff in this book. And there’s a part 2? Ends on a cliffhanger? I’m getting a Grinder/Serena book vibe here where I have no doubt they’ll get back together in the first couple of chapters of the next book. Which’ll annoy me because I lay money on the table this whole story would not have needed to be a 2-parter.

For some reason I had it in my head he would have ended up with Swan and honestly, I think I would have preferred that. I wasn’t really feeling these two. Obviously the intent is to draw two people with tragedy in their past together. But I wasn’t feeling the connection. And I don’t I understand why Dex hasn’t told her his story. And sorry, but the reason for the break up is weak at best. I mean I get it but seriously it feels like it’s over reaching because nothing else is going on with these people anymore.

I read in another review that they felt LOKI had run it’s course. It’s not really an MC series anymore. Everyone is hooked up and nothing happens. I really feel like that’s so true. There needs to be an end because the stories feel like their clutching at straws now. Maybe a spin off series or look to another chapter to keep it going but this main charter is kind of over now. Definitely at it very near it’s use-by date.

Dex- no spoilers

We have gotten glimpses of this character throughout the series and a few breadcrumbs to what tragedies he may have suffered through. Same with Emily. This book does what Autumn does best. It gives us more breadcrumbs, but not the whole story- not yet. This book gives you more intimate details of each character, we get to see past characters (which I love) and we get the promise of more characters (which hopefully means more books)! I know she'll wrap things up with the next book or two. Her longtime fans love multiple books per character. These books always feel like you're checking in with friends/family. If you've battled your own trauma, these books also are a beautiful place to escape into- a group of friends and family who battled their trauma and turned into stronger people and created a HEALTHY family/friend group. I think many readers want that kind of supportive group in real life and that's the allure of this series.
There is no petty stuff like cheating, fights, or drama- at its core, it's about a chosen family that has struggles but overcomes them because they support each other.

This was a great ride- it's what we've come to expect from this author and she did not disappoint! This is the 22nd installment! That's a lot. It's not a stand-alone book however, you can read this without having read the first 22. But don't cheat yourself! Have the full experience! It's well worth the trip. In this installment we are promised the back-story of a solid, yet mysterious brother. He's been with his club family for a long time and we learn a little bit more about the club's early days. We catch up to our chosen family, because at 22 books and counting these characters are more than our friends. They are family that we want to have dinner with regularly. The brother with a back-story has found his leading lady. Neither of them has typical commitment issues- they can commit to loving others. The true pleasure of this book is watching them decide to give the grace they freely give to others, to themselves. They aren't together at the end of this book, but the next one is coming in a few months and I'm looking forward to watching them get and give the happiness they both deserve.

No Rusting just Riding

Rust or Ride is Book #22 in the Lost Kings MC series. 9 long years Dex has been waiting patiently to have his story told. Capturing our hearts with his strong, silent demeanour.
Despite running the Mc's strip club Crystal Ball, Dex has always been respectful towards the dancers not really showing any interest in the opposite sex. Struggling from a past trauma, he isn't looking for a woman to ease his troubles until a chance meeting in a cemetery.
Emily is dealing with some past demons too and trying to raise her teenage sister Libby.
There's some sweet scenes between Dex and Libby and a whole lot of steamy scenes between Dex and Emily. Plenty of support and the usual family banter that we've come to know and love from the series and sometimes some unsolicited advice! Grinder shines in this book, with his words of wisdom.
I'd say this book can be read as a standalone but it's best read as part of the LOKI series. This book does end on a cliffhanger which concludes in Agony to Ashes book #23 around the end of May '23.
As always from me a fabulous 5 💫i💫💫💫💫

Dixon “Dex” Watts has always been a really enigmatic character in Autumn’s Lost Kings MC series. And someone whose story I’ve craved for quite a while. A man torn-up and inextricably changed by past tragedy, Dex never considered himself worthy of finding love again, until he met Emily.

The best friend of Serena, Grinder’s old lady, Emily has only had a passing affiliation to the Lost Kings MC. But for some reason, she’s always felt drawn to Dex. Dex brings intense passion, excitement and a sense of safety into her life, but being the sole guardian of her younger sister, Emily is stuck between wanting a life for herself, and protecting her sister. At some point something has to give, but at what cost?

Rust or Ride is another fantastic instalment of this epic #mcromanceseries. It delivered everything I’ve come to expect from a LOKI story - great humour, loveable characters, that comforting sense of being around family, with a little bit of angst thrown in. I can’t wait for the conclusion of Dex and Emily’s story.

Thank you Autumn Jones Lake for the advance copy :)

“Bricks stares at me slack-jawed. You’re the best of us, brother.”

Dex is 100% the best of them. His morally grey compass is filled with the best of intentions. He’s reserved and quiet, a hard worker and loyal, a total sweetheart and yet, broken hearted (for…reasons). He is always there for the Lost Kings and the CB dancers. He’s steadfast. It’s just who he is.

I don’t think I could have picked a better person for him than Emily. I cannot wait for what is in store for them.

Things of Note:
• This is part one of Dex’s story so it naturally ends on a cliffhanger.
• Can be read as a standalone
• May want to read Renegade Path first
• Troupe wise? I’m at a loss. It’s kinda forbidden but only in their minds.
• STEAMY

Recommendation: Read it. You can’t not fall in love with Dex.

4.75⭐️/3🌶️

Autumn has done it again. LOKI fans have been waiting for Dex’s book for a very long time. The man who is there for everyone but has a past we know very little of.

Dex and Emily have know eachother for a little bit, but never ever actually friends. Her best friend is with Dex’s brother from the MC. But they have both always noticed eachother, and there are definitely sparks and there’s no slow burn once they finally decide to give it a chance.

As always, Autumn knows how to just suck you into the LOKI world. You are in this world, escaping yours and before you know it, you’re at the end and have to wait for the conclusion in the next book. I didn’t see that coming Dex’s book was going to be more that 1! At first I was mad but then I’m like, no, Dex deserves that.

I can’t wait to find out the whole story behind his wife and child. We got snippets of it but just not all.

It goes without saying, Autumn knows how to write spice, the chemistry between Dex and Emily come off the page.

Love, love, LOVE this book!

It's been so good to finally get into Dex's head.. it really has been such a long time coming. Reading his thoughts and feeling about his past and present had been great.

I've loved getting to know Emily too. She's such a strong character. It's good to read a character who's not only strong enough to examine and admit their wrong doings, but to learn the lesson once and change for the better. This little hick-up of confusion is just a different lesson she has to learn...

As expected, Autumn has written a book that compliments yet improves and expands on all previous books in this series. She is an author who I know will deliver an amazing story each and every time.
I can't wait to read the next installment of this amazing series and all the others to follow!

Dex is finally here!!!

Oh my God!!! Where do I begin. From the first sentence to the last sentence, Autumn Jones Lake had me on the each of my seat! Dex is the long awaited story, and it certainly do not disappoint. And, of course all the LOKI clan were front and center. The dynamic chemistry between Dex and Emily was fire. Emily has had lots of responsibilities on her shoulders, and Dex just wants to love & adore her, and vice versa. Dex is such a beautiful torture soul, looking for light, and Emily brings that to him. Of course, Emily has her own demons to conquer. This was a roller coaster ride of ALL emotions. I cannot wait for their next book!!

If you haven't read Autumn Jones Lake's The Lost Kings MC series, you absolutely missing out!!!

Autumn has written another wonderful story!!

Dex is the mysterious club member we've been excited to read about. I simply loved reading and finding out Dex's story. I had a lot of curiosity about him and Emily. Both had a lot of hurt in their younger years.

If you've been wanting Dex's story you are going to love Rust or Ride. Emily comes out of her shell. I loved the banter between the. Had me laughing then crying a few minutes later. Just a note this book ends in a cliffhanger.

You will not be disappointed with this book. Autumn is a great author and keeps you interested in her books!!!
