Her dream. His freedom. Their Deal. Will her heart be safe?

All I ever wanted was to be an acclaimed painter. When I start Freshman year at university, I’m convinced my dream will only ever be that — a dream. It isn’t until I’m told I have an opportunity to study abroad that I realize I may have a chance at the dream career I’ve always wanted. That is, until I learn how much the trip will cost. Feeling defeated, a chance encounter with a sexy stranger reignites my hope because he has the money, and he’s willing to give it to me.

Albeit, not for free.

Two months. I just have to deal with this annoyingly handsome and snarky guy for two months. When I agree to be his fake girlfriend in exchange for the money, I find out that life as I knew it was a lie. Because my new “boyfriend” isn’t normal, and the easy going life I’d had up until now is completely gone. Instead, I’m surrounded by magic, Fae, and a century’s long war. How will I manage to come out of this two month long deal sane or with my heart still intact? Because I’m falling for the Fox, and I’m not so sure how much longer I can keep things as just business.

Am I biased? Yes, yes I am. Am I leaving a review anyways? Why, yes, yes I am.

This book is everything to me. I put so much of myself into this story, and I couldn't be prouder of the way it turned out. It is the start to an amazing story that I can't wait to finish telling, and I hope everyone who picks it up falls in love with the characters alongside me.

My latest ARC read that I devoured without knowing how to stop.
Bria is an artist who needs $5k to pursue her dream of studying in Italy. While she has no such money lying in her pocket, the heroine isn't going to give up her dream.
When Bria discovers that her pathetic boyfriend has cheated on her, her bestie encourages Bria to go out, and they meet a mysterious guy named Rune. They share a steamy dance, and eventually, Rune gets Bria's number. The girl is excited about the opportunity, but the reality slaps her...again. When Rune and Bria meet up, Rune's plans for her are not what she anticipated—Rune wants this gorgeous girl to pretend to be his fake girlfriend in exchange for money...lots of it.
This was a great read with a beautiful and detailed (but not overly-saturated) world where Fae of different kinds secretly live among us, most of them capable of transforming into animals (yes, this is where Fire of the FOX represents the story). All characters in the book are well developed. Bria is a loveable and strong female lead, her friendship with Dallas is admirable and realistic (I'm lucky to have friends like her in real life), and Rune is just the right type of asshole that readers like me want to read about. Akira was my favourite character, and at some point, I wished Akira were THE main character.
I highly recommend this book!!!

Thank you to the author for an eARC of this book!

This is a upper YA/NA paranormal romance releasing in August that features fae, grumpy/sunshine trope, fake dating, forced proximity and diverse characters! I loved how fun and easy to read it was - it made it impossible to put down and perfect to binge. It was funny, emotional, intense and I had so much fun theorising the different plot twists. I also really liked the development of our MC Bria - she had really clear motivations and fears and this made me quickly feel invested in her story! There was a delicious touch of spice and that ending?! It totally left me hanging and I can't wait for the sequel so that I have answers...but I'm also scared for all the drama that's about to go down

Hi friends!

First, can I just have us all take a second to take in just how insanely beautiful the cover of this book is? When I first saw it, I was immediately in love and knew that I had to read this book!

So, it's time for some of our favorite tropes. Repeat after me... Fake dating! 'Touch her and die'! Found family!

This book is a super fun, easy read that I found myself devouring in a pretty short time. Bria, our lovely FMC meets the mysterious, yummy MMC, Rune, when out dancing and their connection is undeniable. But, there is a LOT more to Rune then meets the eye.

So, I absolutely loved the found family that was created here. Bria was taken in right away by Rune's roommates, even when he was being emphasizing his douche-canoe side. Now, we all know that we all love a broody, emotionally damaged alphahole, and Rune definitely fits the bill. He is swoon worthy and definitely a book boyfriend in the making.

Bria, oh my sweet Bria. So much bad shit gets thrown at this lovely girl, but she just keeps going, keeps her chin up, and decides that she can be her own hero. I loved that. I loved her survivor mentality. She definitely fits the main character mold and I am curious to see how she grows in the next book.

This Fae world is different than what we are used to reading, this is definitely a more unique take on Fae and I'm excited to learn more about this world that Sylver has created.

All in all, this book has a bit of mixture of YA and NA feel to it, but it definitely works. I am looking forward to reading more from Sylver and will be continuing this series!

I received an eARC of this book from the author. This in no way impacted my review.

Thank you Sylver Michaela for letting me read a copy of Fire of the Fox before its publication.

Can i just say, wow, that was AMAZING.
Fake dating, a broody and sexy male MC with a strong female MC was awesome.

Personally, it was a refreshing take on the fake dating trope.
You can really see the way the characters feel about each other, and they still went on dates, not to show off to anyone, but simply to enjoy a night out.
I feel like you don't get a lot of that in some fake dating tropes, and the way it was done here was magical!

and the surprises that came through; so good. I knew it was all leading up to something big, and some of my theories were correct which just made it more exciting.

I loved Bria's character progression through the novel; the way she changed and grew as a person, and adapted to everything around her. It showed a beautiful strength that makes me hope to see more of her power, strength and independence shine through.

I am genuinely so excited for book two, I need it now!!!!!

A really intriguing world and something different to other Fae books I have read before. I definitely liked the main character and the love interest. I am really excited for book 2, especially as they are making their way to the "Fox's Den" now.

I cannot wait to see what is going to happen with Bria's secret. I was waiting for it to drop and come out and it didn't, now its all hanging over the meeting of Rune's family. How is all this going to unfold?

I sort of saw it coming that Bria would be who she was revealed to be, the subtle signs were there along the way, so the revelations didn't take me by surprise...but its certainly going to make things interesting!

I did enjoy the snippets of spice we got through the story and the 'who did this to you?' trope was nicely inserted in places.

All in all, a great page turner, fast paced read!

If you're looking for your next addictive read, then look no further 😍 Fire of The Fox is book one in The Broken Fae trilogy and what an amazing start to the series it is. I read it in one sitting and it left me wanting more. Bria and Rune have such amazing chemistry and a wild connection from the start. I loved their interactions and banter and also the secondary characters, who are really well presented and make this story even more intriguing.

What to expect from this book:
🔥 Fake dating
🔥 forced proximity
🔥 mysterious broody hero
🔥 sweet but fierce heroine
🔥 found family
🔥 steamy slow burn
🔥 LGBTQIA+ characters
🔥 Fae and other magical creatures

I'm not gonna talk about the plotline because it's better that you go into this story blind, for a better experience. I highly recommend it if you enjoy urban romantasy and new adult romances.

Many thanks to the author for the free eARC!

i went into this book pretty much blind and while it was okay it wasnt great, i felt like rune and bria didnt have much connection besides her forcing or convincing herself of it. bria was lacking so much for me she folded so fast about everything and i felt she could of stood up for herself better but she got better towards the end, the good parts about this book though are the realtionship between rune's friends and bria were great and funny. maybe this book wasnt for me all the way but it could be great for you!

ARC Review

Bria is ready to begin her life of independence! Being in her college dorm with her best friend and roomie. Bria wants to be a full time painter, but money is needed to live in this world. . . But when an opportunity presents itself to Bria she can't turn it down. The money being the issue stopping her from saying yes.

Until she bumps into a cinnamon roll, code word for her type. Only things don't go the way she wants them to with this man who's her dream boat.

"If he was a cinnamon roll, he'd be one I let burn in the oven until it turned black, crispy ash." - Bria

But when "cinnamon roll" offers her a deal that would completely cover the opportunity of a life time, can she pass it up? Bria has no idea that this deal she is about to make is going to flip her world on its head. There may even be some things that don't seem possible, but seeing is believing.

I loved this read! It was a very enthralling adventure with great characters. Rune may be a cinnamon roll but he is a rather grumpy one. I liked his character even though there were several times I just wanted to shake him.

This is going to be a slow burn romance, be warned. It isn't a clear cut romance which I am fine with. I enjoy twists with books and characters. The trope is themed around fake relationship and I feel a bit of enemies to lovers.

Bria's an amazing character and I enjoyed watching her arc and how she progressed through the book. She's a strong, beautiful souled woman. I liked how she didn't back down from things including Rune and his hotheadedness.

Dallas was a great best friend for Bria and I loved their dynamic! Sylver did an awesome job bringing the characters to life. Though I hope in the next two books we get to see deeper glimpses into the guys. Loved all of Rune's roommates and the author portrayed an array of the LGBTQ+ community beautifully! It didn't feel forced or like she was checking any boxes.

There's some language within the book as well as violence. Talk of war along with aftermath and the "spoils" of war. . . The author doesn't go into long drawn out detail about things! Just gives enough information so you know what happened and can feel those emotions. There's some MF action, but only teases. Again this is going to be a slow burn romance.

I enjoyed the twists within this book even if I was able to figure them out before the cast did. I enjoy being right in my guess, don't we all? But also loved and felt the reaction when character's put two and two together! I also really loved this ironic scene in the book, it had to deal with cinnamon rolls. That's all I'm going to say because I don't want to take away the moment of reading it for the first time.

This is a trilogy so expect the cliffhanger! I am so ready for the next book and I hope to read it when it comes out! This book kept me in it until the very final chapters when I was realizing that this is going to be a rough cut. You will be wanting the next book!

Enjoy the read with fantasy elements and give the author some stars!

Fire of the Fox by Sylver Michaela is a gripping fae story like none other.

This story follows Bria and Rune. Bria a typical teenage college student moves into her dorm with her best friend, and they begin to explore the college life of dating and mingling amongst new peers. After kicking her lousy so called boyfriend Dax to the curb, Bria catches the eye of Rune. Rune seems like the perfect sweet treat and Bria begins to wonder if this could become her new man. After a breathtaking night at the club, Bria can't wait to hear back from her new Cinnamon Roll. But the relationship she had in mind of building with Rune was not at all what she was about to discover.

This novel, revolves around a human world with Faes living amongst them without their knowledge. The author does a wonderful job at painting a visual picture of the life and history of the fae. The character development is wonderfully done. Not only does the author focus on the character building of Bria and Rune but she also goes into quite the detail on the supporting characters as well.

Fire and the Fox is a beautifully written and captivating story that grabbed my attention from the beginning. Not only is the cover art absolutely astonishing, but the words Sylver Michaela uses her words to depict this fantasy world grabs your attention. This book is filled action, adventure, romance, all while having twists that you don't see coming. The are many characters that you fall in love with and some that you absolutely despise.

Fire of the Fox blew my expectations to pieces, it was truly fascinating. I highly recommend if you read fantasy pick up this book. I believe this book and the books to come in this trilogy will be enjoyed by readers from young adult to adult. Although this book is centered around fantasy it includes so many loved troupes and parts of other book genres that it would be a recommendation for almost all readers. Lastly, I have to say Fire of the Fox was an absolute page turner. After I finished this book I immediately grabbed the second book in the Trilogy, Whispers of the Water. There is so much more of these characters story that I want to know, so many unanswered theories that I need to see how it all plays out. I am invested.
Thank you Sylver Michaela for writing this story.

My rating of Fire of the Fox is 5/5 stars and 2/5 spice level.

This was a very enjoyable read! This follows Bria who is just starting college with her roommate Dallas. She gets an opportunity to study abroad in Italy for art, but needs $5K to go. While figuring out how to get the money, she is also trying to navigate life at school and her personal life. She dumps her boyfriend Dax(finally) who just cheated one too many times on her and took advantage of her smarts. She meets a boy called Rune one night at a club and he asks for her number to meet up with her another day. When they do meet, turns out he had other plans for her. He offers to help her get the money she needs if she helps him by pretending to be his girlfriend when he goes home for his birthday in two months to stop his mother from trying to set him up with someone else to marry. Bria needs the money and agrees to help, not realizing what she's actually getting herself into.

I really loved the uniqueness of this book. It's an urban fantasy, and a unique way of introducing Fae into the world. They basically live amongst us in secret, and there are the Land Fae and Water Fae, and then many different kinds amongst those main Fae. They each have different powers and have the ability to be in a human form, their Fae form, and full animal form. One of my favorite scenes in this book is when Bria meets and learns about the Fae. I just find it hilarious, her reaction, their reaction, and the overall experience is just great!

There are many fun characters in this book. I would say Dallas is my favorite. Her and Bria's friendship is golden to me! They clearly care about each other a lot, and know each other sooooo well! I love their guy rating system that involves food, I mean they're obviously best friends and you can truly see that when reading this book.

Then of course there is Rune and his buddies, Akira, Bassel, and Marlow. Each unique with their own unique personalities that really add to the story, and to their budding friendship with Bria.

My only qualm is that I felt the romance was a bit rushed, almost insta-love, but not quite(if that makes sense), like it was fast, yet believable, or got to the point of being believable. However, I also really like the romance in this book. It's enemies to friends to almost maybe lovers? lol. It is very sweet and I adore how it was handled despite how quick the romance was.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I don't read urban fantasies often, and so it is always nice to read one and enjoy it immensely! 4.5/5 stars.

Thank you Sylver for the free digital copy to read! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

But like….Is anyone else mad at that cliffhanger?! ESPECIALLY! when I can’t immediately begin to binge the next book!!

Fire of the fox was an awesome NA paranormal romance that you definitely don’t want to miss out on. We start off with our adopted FMC, Bria, starting off her freshman year of college with her best friend Dallas! In her first couple weeks as an aspiring artist, but following a more realistic goal of art teacher, Bria is offered the opportunity to study abroad in Italy under her favorite artist, as long as she can come up with 5000$. Not to much to ask of a struggling college student, and after putting in about 1000 job applications, Dallas convinces Bria that a night out is just what she needs to unwind and have a little fun. And fun is just what Bria has in mind when she runs into the wickedly handsome Rune. Who Bria forms a genuine connection with and can’t wait to see where things between them might lead. Unfortunately her dreams of something more meaningful come to a screeching halt when Rune lets her know he’s not looking for anything serious, or even a real girlfriend…. He is however looking for a fake girlfriend in order to throw his mother off. At first furious and hurt Bria declines, but then Rune offers her the one thing she can’t turn down… her future. He offers her the 5000 she needs to pay for Italy IF she can hold up her end of the deal and go on a trip with him to meet the family and stop his mothers idea of arranged marriages. And that’s all you’re getting out of me if you want to see how much crazier this story gets then I suggest you rush right on over to your local book seller (ebook, and audio sellers count too 😉) and pick yourself up a copy. Because if you are looking for a new adult, grumpy/sunshine, topsy-turvy, folklore filled,
slow burn romance than this is the book for you!!

HAPPY READING! 📖

Wow!!! Such a fun read!

This book focuses on Fae! Our FMC is a human (or is she?)

To break it down:
•Rival Fae (Land and Water Fae) have been fighting for centuries and HATE EACH OTHER. Like kill yo ass on the SPOT hatred!
•Land Fae take the form of animals and have specific powers to their animals. We haven’t learned much about Water Fae yet, but obviously their powers cater more to water! Not sure if they have animal forms too.

Tropes:
•Found family
•Forced proximity
•Fake dating
•Alphahole MMC
•Curvy FMC
•Power awakening
•”Who did this to you?”
•Light spice (some hawtttt teasing. More spice comes in later books I’ve been told)

I really loved the character and relationship development in this book! This one focuses on Bria and Rune “practicing” being a couple before they go to Rune’s parents house to visit. Rune’s mother wants to arrange for him to marry a Fox Fae, but Rune wants to stay single and ready to mingle so he’s bringing a pretend GF to get mom off his back.

He picks Bria bc she’s giving off a Fae aura and obviously a Fae needs to go with him as his date. Only….. Bria insists she’s human 👀 So they have to do a magical little spell on her to make her look like a Fox and give her tips and pointers to make it out undetected.

Then something crazy happens to Bria right before they leave anddddddd she decides to not tell Rune what has transpired bc it may end up causing her to lose her life 😅

OH MY GOSH!!!!! I finished this in two days not even realizing it 🤣

This was so good, I am so excited that I found it. I SCREAMED when it ended! I’m happy the next book will be out soon though, I am dying to know what happens!

This is a story of a Bria, a freshman college student aspiring to become an artist. But when an opportunity of a lifetime to study abroad under her idol falls at her feet there is no way she can turn it down. She just needs to figure out how to get the money for the trip. Cue in sexy mysterious stranger here. Rune comes from a posh traditional family. With his family wanting him to settle down but his heart saying otherwise, he devises a plan to have a fake girlfriend instead. Cue in fmc here 🤣. Once Rune and Bria meet and agree to some terms for this agreement ( fake girlfriend for two months and she gets the money for her trip) everything changes. She learns Fae are real and magic exists in this world. Her life is turning upside down but once secrets start to reveal she has to decide what is best for her.

I really love the fluidity of this story and how the FMC took charge of her life and grew mentally and physically.

100% must read

This book… 👏🏻 Ugh, Sylver, you did it AGAIN! I loved this book. Fire of the Fox is a Young Adult story about college student, Bria. Being a freshman can be hard enough, but learning that fae exist makes it 10 times harder.
We are introduced to many amazing characters, my favorite being Rune and Bria. The grumpy/ sunshine trope… *chefs kiss*
I also love how deep Rune’s character actually is. There is so much to his character and the way that he acts. I really hope we get to see more of him and his background in book 2.
I love the diversity of the characters in this story. So many books just have the same old characters, but with Fire of the Fox, everyone can find that one character to relate to.
The spice level kinda surprised me! When reading, I thought, oh this is you regular young adult story. But, no! There is a bit of spice that I was so glad to see! I hoping for even more in book 2 🤪🌶
This book ends with so many questions that I need answered! I can’t wait for book 2.

Congratulations on another wonderful novel, Sylver ❤️

This was a super cute and cozy fantasy read. I really enjoyed the story very much. I loved all the different characters, my favorite is Akira...loved his sassy loveable character. This book is a very slow burn acquaintance-friends-lovers read. There is no hot and heavy spice scenes but there is a sprinkle of pepper🤣

Bria is a art major student that has a dream of going to study abroad with her most favorite artist. Unfortunately the cost is too high until a very unique opportunity comes her way. On her first day she bumps into a very yummy cinnamon roll, Rune, and from there her whole life changes. The world as she knows it gets flipped upside down and just flipped again. She grows stronger as person and learns more about herself.

So this is book 1 and it does end on a small cliff hanger.

I would have loved to read Rune's POV.

What a FAE fantastically written fantasy series!! Listen, you will absolutely not be disappointed and will be left wanting more. Let’s start with this gorgeous cover, right??? That’s what drew me in. I go into books blind so that I am not prejudiced in anyway. I was not expecting a HIGH 4 star rating. This book has the right amount of backstory, asshole boyfriend, history, new found family, angst, grumpy-sunshine MMC that is quick to anger, protective, steamy hotttt, closed heart to dating butthead that u will absolutely fall for, just like Bria does!! The arrangement.. 5000 for 2 months of fake dating and to meet his mom, the Queen of the Land Fae. This thrill ride will have u pulling your hair out at what Bria contends with and Rune being a stubborn ass. I loved every minute of this book!!

Fire Of The Fox by Sylve Michaela is easily one of the best books I’ve read all year. She pulled me out of a reading slump and brought me into a world of Fae that I haven't seen in books before! It was captivating and I was chatting with my bookish besties about Cinnamon Roll and how it was almost 4 am and I couldn't stop reading! Sylver will be on my auto read list forever more! I'm completely obsessed with 10 out 5 stars for plot, writing style, character development and descriptions! 1 1/2 on the spicy scale! This a Fantasy Fae world you haven’t seen before and she pulls you right in keeping you there the whole time! You’ve got a diverse world of characters and so much growth throughout. I was completely enraptured and highly recommend this book. This isn’t dark at all, there is something for everyone to love in this one!

I was given an early copy of this title, and just finished the ARC as well!

What an amazing story! I love the banter, and the way Sylver describes Bria and Rune's body language is captivating. I enjoyed much of this story, from the secretive suspense to the sweet and spicy romance. There's a beautiful reality to the experiences and emotions each character battles through, and the support they all show each other makes my heart happy. I'm honestly rooting for them all! Every single character.

This books vibe: Heal, open up, love and be loved. Chase every dream, every happiness...right now.

I'm here for everything this book is. I especially love how animated the behaviors of the fae are.

I can't wait to read book 2 and see where this goes next, because shit's about to get real. 😱

Wow! I discovered Sylver on TikTok and her book Fire of the Fox and wow she did not disappoint. This book is filled with twists and turns. Spicy deep meaningful scenarios that literally leave you excited for the next chapter of the story. Sylver creates beautifully written depictions of worlds and places leaving plenty of space for your imagination to expand on. You can see the blue in the water down to the richness of color Amber in the eyes of the fox. Rune and Bria are the perfect match living in a world of normalcy and what dreams are made of. I have nothing but admiration for this author and the continuation of Bria and Rune's Story.

This book delivers that YA urban fantasy feels I used to always read. That isn't a complaint at all. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It gave those feelings while stepping it up with steam in the romance department. Heard the next one steps it up even further, which I'm definitely excited about. I adore reading Rune and Bria's growing relationship, and I can't wait to see where it leads next.

While it was predictable for me personally, it didn't take the enjoyment of the book away for me. I also adore the group of side characters that we get. I miss them already.

I can't wait for book two, and this little over a month is going to feel like forever while I wait to go to the fox's den.

This is a slow burn fantasy Romance with faking date, forced proximity, touch her die vibes, as well as found family. I absolutely loved the characters (Bria is a young and inexperienced girl which could be frustrating, but I think it leaves opportunities for character growth which I am so excited for in book 2). The author does a fantastic job describing them as well as the Fae world that is revealed in the story. I loved the unique Fae in this story it is unlike any other fantasy I've read. This book doesn’t drag the main characters meet right away and you won't be able to put it down. I read it super quickly. Fantastic dialogue and very easy to read captivating writing.

“You’re my weakness and strength all mixed together in one brilliant mess.”

3.25⭐️ I really enjoyed the characters in this story and the plot was interesting. At times Bria annoyed me but I don’t know if it’s she because she’s on the younger side for me personally. I did enjoy all of the side characters and how they interacted with each other. I am excited to see what happens in Book 2 for sure. It was a cute read and I giggled during different parts. I would like to see more character growth between Rune and Bria.

I was drawn in right from the start and was unable to put this book down! Sylver Michaela created a world and characters that are impressive and intoxicating!! This book is easily in my top 5 for the year. I can easily see this book becoming one of my comfort books that I will pick up and read whenever I am in a reading slump or just need a pick me up. I HIGHLY recommend this book

LOVE

Such a fun start to a story! Can’t wait for the next books! If you like fae and unknown ancestry books this is for you!

It did feel like a setup for the next book more than a full complete plot to me so know that going in. The thing hyped in the first 30% doesn’t even happen by the end so it’s not a roadtrip-trope book like it seems to be early on. But the world-building is still great so: worth it!

Absolutely fabulous story. I love a story that captivates you from page 1. Fire of the fox did that. I also have to say that I loved the graphic pages of each chapter. I haven’t seen that before. Just another element that elevated this story. I was engaged throughout the book. I love a story that makes me laugh out loud and this one for me a few times. Romantic humor is absolutely the best. I cannot wait for book 2.

I was so surprised with how much I liked this book. The entire storyline was so unique and different and I loved the details of it. The characters, the magic systems and how the differentiate the land and water fae’s characteristics had me wanting more. I absolutely adored the enemies to friends ordeal that Rune and and Bria had going on. The fact that it was an arrangement and the whole scenario throughout the book. Their chemistry is fire and I can’t wait for more of them.

A big cinnamon roll with extra icing could definitely hit the spot after that read! Fire of the Fox was my first exposure to Sylver Michaela's work and I had no idea what to expect, I have to say I was impressed! Bria was definitely a relatable character, and the cinnamon roll, well the cinnamon roll was delicious. The side characters were entertaining, I would love to see a backstory for Akira in particular! The cliffhanger left me needing the next book ASAP.
