College student Mallie is on her way home when she gets hit by a car, and falls into a coma she can't awaken from.
Daniel is a lawyer whose plans change drastically because of a brain aneurysm.
From two different worlds, they find themselves unconscious and fighting for their lives, two doors away from each other in the same hospital. What they don't expect is the magic that brings their souls together.
But can a love found in such a way survive the journey back to the physical world?
The premise of the story was good, but that was it. I found the writing to be very stilted and there was little research apparently done for accuracy. Oh-thirteen hundred??? No such military time. Stents, not "stints." What was described was not an aneurysm. I skimmed this story and was very disappointed.

Love's Magic, wow what a phenomenal book, i got so sucked in by the unusual story line it has and how well the story flowed from beginning to end. Betty McLain is am amazing author, even though this was the first book I've read by this author. The story line was very romantic and lovely, I felt emotional in areas of this book.

They have never met and do not know each other but as they lie in hospital beds two doors away from each other fighting for their lives they find themselves meeting on a beach where they fall in love.
This was a lovely story, but I did find the fact that Daniel's brother fell in love and became engaged with the daughter of their old next door neighbour so quickly a little unbeliveable. This could have been a separate story rather than an inclusion in this book.
This book was so fantastic I felt guilty giving a five. It is a fantastic story and well written. Daniel and Mallie was such fantastic characters. They definitely made you feel this was happening to you and going through it with them.I do believe in miracles and had a dr. tell me to keep talking to them as they do think they can hear you. This is a real tearjerker & definitely shows results of families sticking together.
This is a bedroom-door-nailed-shut book that is cavity-inducing sweet. There is insta-love for the couple and their relatives.
This is an appropriate read for those who like clean and wholesome books. It’s not sophisticated, deep, or memorable. I did like the concept of falling in love while in comas.
I started skimming at 40% because it reminded me too much of those stories in romance magazines back in the 80s or 90s.
I read Betty’s bio and got really moved by this nice old lady who loves to read and write, and I would not dare to write an unkind review of her book. However I cannot rate it with more than 1 star and be true to myself.
Constructive feedback? - write longer and more ellaborare sentences - if the book is medical, research a little more regarding the issues you’re mentioning.
Honestly I didn’t really enjoy. It sounds like it was written by a teenager who doesn’t understand healthcare or how love works. It’s very young and disappointing. Them saying I love you two seconds after meeting made me cringe so hard yuck!
A phenomenal story about the power of love in its full potential will melt your heart with the deepest emotions for these two individuals, who are in their saddest state yet most determined to acquire strength in life!
I never understand when a book is written badly and I am such a vibe reader but for this book I could tell from the very first chapter how bad and repetitive it was.I am so sorry but it felt like a teenager wrote this book. The concept had potential though.
This was a very lovely story of a couple who met while both were in a comma. They talked and communicated while not being able yo with anyone else. It's a wonderfully sweet story.
