This book explores the inter-relationship between individual learning and organizational cultural change. It presents and discusses the key concepts, methodological choices and findings of this study. The inter-relationship is explored through an in-depth case study which focuses on managers’ perceptions of their individual contributions to organizational change through learning and development, and on the impact of the organizational change developments on learning at various levels. The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of the study. The chapter commences with a discussion of the rationale of this study, then goes on to describe the focus of the study, and finally concludes by reviewing the change development of the Host Company and outlining the overall structure of the thesis.
