I received these books from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review~

I really enjoyed Animal ABC, Animal 123, and Animal Colors, so of course when I saw these cute books I had to press that read now button. I had to read them! And right after requesting them I went to read them. I just couldn’t wait any longer. I was at first worried as the Opposites one wasn’t working on my PC (the pictures were just the shadows of the animals) but it did work through the Netgalley app on my phone.

I thought it would be the most fun to write a review for both books! So here we go~ In these two books we get to see Animal Shapes and Animal Opposites. From small crocodiles and big crocdiles to a square aquarium for two very fat goldfish. I had so much fun flipping, well OK, swiping through the pages and get to see what was next. I have to say that it worked perfectly on my phone as the surprise was even bigger. With a physical copy you get to see the two pages immediately and with the phone you just see one part and then the next. With some of the opposites of course you could easily guess what was next, at least if you know your opposites. XD But with the shapes? That one held a fun surprise each time. What animals and what about the shape. Like the heart, I hadn’t expected that as the next one. So I was definitely happy. For once I didn’t mind reading these books online. And I loved the various opposites, some made me laugh like the shark who went fast. Or the oval, good luck with that one!

I really love the illustration style. Nikolas Ilic just has a wonderful and zany style that makes you giggle. The eyes especially at times. XD

All in all, I think these two books are a wonderful addition to the rest of the series and I think kids will absolutely love it. The opposites and the shapes are well done + the colours are popping + the illustrations are fun. Learning your shapes and opposites is fun!

This book aims to introduce toddlers to the wonderful world of opposites.

The word pairs picked were useful for toddlers with a growing vocabulary and also presented in a clever way. For instance, to show 'up' and 'down', it showed a bat hanging upside down and a bat sitting up on a branch. I also liked how it ends with a goodbye to all the animals-- my two year old happily waved goodbye to them before asking if we could read it again.

The illustrations are a joy. They are super colorful. and appealing for toddlers, but with enough detail and character to appeal to adults as well. The animals are also well chosen and provide a nice variety of common and uncommon creatures to pique your child's interest.

I would recommend this to anyone with a child under age 3. I'll definitely pick up the board book version of this when it releases.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the author, Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This artist is amazing, I love this book and the little one I read it with was entranced. It's colorful and fun - the sheer variety of animals make this a great book to look at and read with young children and the "opposites" concept is very well-done and illustrated. I especially like that many of the animals are not particularly cuddly, but still nothing to strike fear into young hearts. Highly recommend!

Another book that my kid read herself and she loves to read this daily. Learning opposites with animal pictures makes this book different than other opposite board books I have seen so far. We dive right into the book that first shows the picture of an animal with a word and then its opposite with an animal picture. Mine is eARC so I have to flip the page for the opposite word but I think physical book might have both opposite words side by side (see pic below). There are easy opposite words for early learning kids. Animal illustrations are very cute and each opposite word set has different bright colors.

This is a most adorable and well illustrated book of opposites for toddlers. Two of my favorites include inside and outside with a chick and its shell, and wet and dry with an unhappy wet cat followed by a dry kit under an umbrella. All of the pages are cute and engaging. I wonder which ones a child you know will most enjoy!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.

This is a simple board book meant to illustrate simple concepts. In general, this would just be another of the same thing that comes out every year. However, the illustrations are so much fun. I would hang almost any of them on my wall. My personal favorite is the wet cat and the far pigeon, but the elephants are kind of cool too. This would be a book I’d gladly get for my little niece to chew on and eventually one day read and understand.

Very friendly introduction to opposites, and for once a heck of a lot more than we tend to get. Near, far, up, down, clean, dirty – all the useful sets of opposite terms seem to be here, presented by delightfully cartoonish animals in the creator's typical uber-bright and child-friendly fashion. So, so colourful, and seriously useful – there's nothing to fault.

My kids asked me to read this one again as soon as I finished. I’ve read quite a few opposites books and this is probably my favorite of them. The only critics is “far/near”. Near is not a word that my kids ever use, but “close” is. I’m confused why close wasn’t chosen. But I would for sure recommend this as my first choice for a book of opposites!

The cover was great, but two issues had me in a daze. The colors and illustrations were out of wax. The colors were bright and dazzling to the eyes, while the illustrations' shapes were blotchy and sometimes undefined. This book needs some tweaking to make it a great read.

This book is another cute book for teaching children about opposites. There are 13 pairs in this book, each with adorable and goofy animal illustrations. It's very colorful, with the background color changing with each pair, easy to keep a young child's attention.
