Hallie is the best type of heroine and she just added to this book. She’s been through so much and is so strong but also isn’t looking to face her demons which is why Avery is great for her. He knows she’s not the easiest in many ways and he’s okay with that and there chemistry is explosive.

I have been eager to read this story in the Phoenix Force series; I have loved all of the others and knew this was going to be an awesome book, it definitely is!
Hallie, aka Hellfire, is a gritty, whirlwind ex military team member, now a team member of Phoenix Force, who tackles problems head on and never shies away from anything. Having some childhood trauma makes her more determined about certain things but 🤐 enough said. She is a highly passionate person and isn’t afraid to admit her preferences. Let’s just say she sets the bedroom, alley, bathroom, kitchen, living room—you name it—alive and on 🔥.
The action scenes in this book are topnotch and get the old adrenaline running through your veins as you flick through the pages reading as fast as possible to find out what happens.😅 Honestly, it is terrific and I loved every bit of it… well almost, but you’ll get what I mean when you read it. I also enjoyed the touch of teasing and sense of humour throughout the story, whether it’s banter between characters or suggestive jibes, it’s all in good fun.
The terrific storyline, interesting characters—including the villains, fantastic descriptions and careful balance of emotions makes this fast-paced story one of pure enjoyment and entertainment.

This military romance hits the right spot and has you on the edge of your seat with the grit, chaos, suspense and emotions. Hallie is a character that has been through hell and come out the other side making her a character with depth, intensity and strength. Avery will steal your heart and light you up as his possessiveness and alpha tendencies come into play. The chemistry between these two is like a raging inferno. This book starts off with a bang and leads the way to a storyline that has you unable to put it down. There were twists and turns but also so much emotion and passion. When it comes to military romances this author doesn't let you down.

Hallie's story was rough—brutal at times—and full of challenges.
While initially it seemed like a fun and flirty tale, it quickly morphed into a twisted, suspenseful, and emotional read.
It was fast-paced, chock full of steam, and littered with danger.
I really admired Hallie's strength, her fight...her fire. She stood strong when others would have crumbled.
Avery was definitely a blessing in her life, despite her reluctant attitude towards relationships. He was exactly who she needed—to push her, challenge her and support her through her hardships.
While I have not read any of the other books in the series, I didn't feel as if I was in the dark about anything. However, I will be reading more of them, as this story has me curious about the other team members' lives.

Edge of your seat, hard hitting military drama from Ms Summers as we follow the fiercely strong Hallie on a life endangering mission.
Hallie is absolute fire, her strength, determination and belief in herself are what all little girls should be encouraged to feel! I loved her take no prisoner attitude with a heartwarming side of vulnerability reserved for a very select few. On occasion I wanted to shout at her for her reckless choices but I admired her at the same time!
Avery is every girls dream. Strong and supportive, with a side of sarcastic humour and a very naughty glint in his eye! He totally has the measure of his Hellcat and boy does her encourage her sass!
Loved these two together. This story has some hard hitting subject matter but it’s balanced nicely with action and steam.

Hellfire was a fantastic military romance read! WOW Hallie's journey was gut-wrenching at time's, but omg she is a fighter! Then we have Hallie and Avery together these two have the chemistry and are smoking together! Loved Avery he was there for Hallie pulling her back from the brink! The other characters amazing! Fantastic ending!

Who needs sleep when there’s PHOENIX FORCE to read?? And holy-hell, HELLFIRE, Author Vi Summer’s contribution to this series was ON FIRE! 🔥🔥🔥 It was a full-on action that moved so fast and was so perfectly executed that I didn’t even have time or the wherewithal to be shocked and horrified by the traumatic events that our author put her heroine through. HELLFIRE is gritty, and it’s heart-rending. And, it’s also hot, witty and suspense-ridden.
Sargent Hallie Ivanov was former Army SRT (Special Reaction Team), like her other bad-arse Phoenix Force team members, harboured regrets, inner scars and secrets. She loved men, as toys to play with, an itch to scratch even, and refused to find it within herself to develop an attachment, except for Avery Montgomery, ex-teammate and still current member of SRT. He’d been Mr. Thursday-Through-Sunday-Nights, which had been as serious as she’d ever gotten; until she left the team.
“I’d never allowed myself to catch feelings. ... The fact that Avery created emotions I couldn’t—and didn’t want to—escape from, scared the ever-loving shit out of me.”,
The push and pull of Hallie’s actions towards Avery were understandable and not due to any vacillation of feelings on her part. She knew he understood her, was good for her and loved her, but she had a reason that Ms Summers absolutely validated. The events she suffered throughout her life and recently, the aftermath, and yep, the healing was everything that I could have imagined, no ‘magic recovery’ in sight.
On his part, Avery was perfect for her. I’ve decided I love the mind of Ms Summers because her written description of that man culminated in the most devastatingly sexy specimen that could ever have been conjured out her imagination. He was a total growly sex-on-a-stick alpha-male who wholly owned his feelings for Hallie and wasn’t afraid to use them. More than that, he ‘saw’ her.
“Like a Phoenix; breathtaking and seemingly immortal. I just had to wait for those burning embers in her soul to catch a lick of life, and I would be there to worship her when she rose on reborn wings.”
The relationship between them, and Avery’s ownership of Hallie was to me, the third main character in HELLFIRE simply because it was strong and palpable. It was electric and alive, and it pulsed. This love wasn’t possessive, because a woman like Hallie wouldn’t have a bar of any man with that attitude, but he absolutely ‘owned’ his feelings for her, owned his support for her vocation, owned her trauma, her tears, her passion and celebrated her successes.
Strong, exciting and intense, with the writing of HELLFIRE I really believe that Ms Summers has found her groove. This is her second military based book and with both of them she knocked the execution of them out of the park. OBLIVION had been my favourite of hers until now. Until HELLFIRE. All of her books contain her trademark extremely witty banter, so there are always all the feels from heartbreak, shock, and anger, right through to spit-laughing all over your reading device, and once picked up, are hard to put down.
This ninth book in the PHOENIX FORCE multi-author series was one helluva 5-star-ride!!!! I loved it ☆🧨🪖☆

I love everything Vi writes and this was no different. It's been a while since I've read a military romance and this hit the spot perfectly.
Hallie... what an absolute legend. She is a force on her own, fierce, independent, and unapologetic. She goes after what she wants and isn't afraid of the consequences and I loved that about her. It was also so beautiful to see her vulnerabilities at times - Vi did an amazing job at writing some pretty heartbreaking scenes!
Avery is the ultimate book boyfriend material. He is kind, strong, possessive, courageous and there for Hallie no matter what. The chemistry these two have together is fire, and I absolutely love how much they understand and need each other.
This is a beautiful read filled with twists you won't expect, an awesome fast-paced plot, heart-stopping military action and some badass characters. If you love all things military then give this a go.

Hallie is a fighter. She is a BA. However, she has been through a lot and continues to struggle with certain things and situations. She knows what she wants and she isn’t afraid of going after it, which I loved about her. Avery is the perfect man to balance Hallie. He is alpha, he is caring, sweet, and insanely protective.
Hallie and Avery have no shortage of chemistry. They both understand each other in a way not many would. Avery has a ton of feelings for Hallie, but knows that she is somewhat of a wild one. He never gives up and continues to let her know that he is there for her and he cares about her.
This story is a wild ride that is full of twists and turns, but also brings in some sweet and spicy moments.
If you’re looking for a military, romantic suspense book this is one to check out.

I freaking loved this book. This author can write any genre and do it fantastically. Hallie aka Hellfire is hell on wheels. She is one of my favorite characters. She is one kick **s woman that doesn't take crap and isn't afraid to dish it back out. I just love Avery, he is everything you would want in a man. He is sweet but possessive, he is courageous and will do anything for Hallie. I do have to say I really like Shaun, he was also so sweet. This story was fantastic and most definitely highly recommend it.

Hellfire is a sexy and suspenseful military romance story that I devoured from the edge of my seat with the fan turned on HIGH!
Hallie (aka Hellfire / Hellcat) our heroine I absolutely loved. She is a total badass fighter who is unapologetic in who she is and what she wants.
And...
Her journey was a heck of a ride! It was steamy, suspenseful and at times truly breath stealing and heart aching. But... you can't help but admire the fact she holds strong and fights till the end.
However, one might wonder...
Can a Hellfire / Hellcat be tamed?
Well.... Enter Avery. Gosh I loved this man. He is seriously alpha, sexy, protective, caring, sweet, and while he wishes he could wrap Hallie up and keep her safe, he understands and supports her Hellfire ways.
These two are FIRE together. Not only do they share a sizzling chemistry but they also have deep connection that Hallie has experienced with no other man.

Holy moly!! You ever need an author that NEVER disappoints and keeps giving you the best of their writing every single time….this is that author!!
Hallie is one of the most bad ass characters I’ve EVER read!! The horrifying things she has gone through AND even more as each chapter goes!! I am in awe of the sass, the anger, the sexiness, the pain, the lost moments that she shares. She may be my most FAVORITE CHARACTER this year!!
Avery is NOT what I expected!! The possessiveness he has right from the beginning speaks to so much!!! I LOVED the conversation between him and Shaun!! I got a little giddy each time Shaun showed back up!
The start to this book was WILD and just spoke volume to how the rest of the book would be!!! I couldn’t put it down and only when forced!!! So many crazy things happened and the shock factor happens OFTEN, so be prepared!!!

Hellfire was a fantastic read. It was my first military read and I have to say I enjoyed it. Hallie is a fighter and her no BS spirit is one to not mess with. I admire a woman who no matter what things were thrown at her she pushed through. And then you throw in Avery who even though he loves her so hard he pushed her even harder. When she wanted to curl into herself and shut him out. He pushed. His dedication to her is one that’ll leave you wanting to trade her places.

Given this ARC for an honest review and all thoughts are my own.
Well not sure where to start but this novel is a great novel,if you have never read a Vi Summers novel it is fantastic military romance with some very nice steamy scenes just to bring the heat and warm a cool night up. But it can also rip you apart in the next page so it is also trigging in some parts.
Hallie and Avery will melt your heart and your pages with the love but yet non love they have for each other.
I will say this is an easy book to just jump in to and never leave. I read it in 2 nights and found the chapter are not overly long which helps when you have real life getting in the way. Highly recommended this novel.

Hallie and Avery were on fire! Off the charts chemistry and an emotional read. Hallie is a true fighter and with Avery by her side she can conquer anything. An amazing read and a definite page turner, a must read!

Back To Her Nightmare.
MF, Contemporary, Romance. Easy to read page-turner with dark themes and great characters. Book nine in a multi author series but a complete stand-alone read. Lots of twists and turns throughout with angst, violence, heat and love. Guaranteed HEA.

Hellfire! What a book, what a title!It sums the book up perfectly.
I’ve got to say I’m not overly into military romances but this one had me hooked.
Hallie, the main character, is a fearless warrior, who’s gone through lots in her life and it’s made her the fighter that she is. Couple her together with Avery and the chemistry is ridiculously hot!
The book has a great story with lots of suspense and drama that means you won’t want to put it down.
The only thing is I wanted more from the couples relationship but that’s me.

Fierce and suspenseful.
This is by far my favourite read by this author to date. There’s no shortage of heat, suspense, super steamy connections and a heartfelt journey.
Keeping in mind there are triggers, none of these effected me and I steamed through this book!

I really enjoyed Hallie and Avery’s book. When i first started reading this book i wasn’t sure about it as i just wasn’t sure if it was my type of book but i kept reading and i’m super glad i did. Hallie is an exceptional woman who wore her past like an armour with strength and courage constantly emitting from her. Avery was so patient straight away you could see they had this connection, this energy together. It takes an exceptional and courageous writer to have us fall in love with a main character in this case Hallie and then have her go through something so harrowing and heartbreaking. Hallie’s strength and vulnerability showed through and you could tell all she wanted was to get through it but it was constantly dragging her back in the memories. I also think a really important part of this book to also note is how the author made sure to normalise mental health and getting help when you’re in the military showing it wasn’t a weakness or anything it was just another part of taking care of yourself. This was a great book.

Wow…I love strong, resilient, and sexy female heroines. Hellfire or Hallie as she likes to be called is definitely that and she isn’t afraid to be who she is and she knows what she wants. In her quest to find her mother she had a lot of trauma and a bit if a wild ride to finally find her HEA. Avery had to be someone special and he kinda had to prove himself but in the end they found one another (or should I say found each other again….don’t know if I count the first time they had a relationship but other readers might have a different opinion on that). It definitely took a special man to tame Hellfire (Hallie) that’s for sure. I can’t tell you how much I loved reading about Phoenix Force before starting Hellfire. Hellfire was the first full length story I read in the Phoenix Force series and it won’t be the last. I have to say that I enjoyed reading Vi Summer’s contribution to the Phoenix Force series. Lots panty melting heat with lots of drama, angst, twists and turns, things going sideways, and so many feels. I love authors who can bring out emotions and have you empathize with the characters. Vi Summers didn’t disappoint. She is firmly in my favorite author’s list. I have the whole the complete NorthShore Crew series downloaded on my kindle and it has been in my tbr. I don’t think it is going to stay there as I will be diving in to read it next. I highly recommend Hellfire, The Phoenix Force series, and Vi Summers as an author. Happy reading!!

Hallie (Hellfire) and Avery take on an emotional, action packed, tear jeaker of read. Right from the start it pulls you in and as the story unfolds you won't expect anything. Hallie after the military joined the Phoenix Force where they do mission and try to save lives. After a really difficult mission she is going back to Cape Town, South Africa to try and find her mom, but when she is taken and forced to go to her fathers some truly unimaginable things happen and she has to choose between her mother and freedom. Avery is still in the military and is helping Hallie deal with her last mission, but when she decides to leave he has no choice but to let her. Will he be able to find her in time or will he be too late? Will her friends be able to help him save? Absolutely fantastic read with twist, turns, emotional highs and lows, and an ending that will have you wanting so much more. I so can't wait to read what she has next.

Much too soon, she decides to head back out not allowing Avery or her team to help her come to grips with her demons. This military romance has a lot of triggers, but I was captivated by the depth with which Vi wrote about the PTSD and real emotions felt when both being in combat and after. Hallie is a determined, strong yet traumatised character fighting her demons after so much loss and struggle in her life. Avery is her rock, despite keeping him at arms length, his strength and refusal to give up on her had me wanting an Avery for myself.
This book is a hot book with plenty of chilli but I loved the combat and punch that Vi has added which is a book unlike most of her others.
Having not read any Phoenix Force stories, I had no comparison but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a saucy, emotional, gritty page-turner.

I've been dying to read this for far too long, and it didn't disappoint. The premise of this series had my interest piqued from the get go.
For me personally, the reason for my rating is more personal preference than anything else.
I struggled to connect with the female main character for a lot of it because of this fact.
The plot on the other hand....
You'll find yourself on the edge of your seat, unable to believe what you are reading.
Does Ayves manage to tame his Hellcat, or does she get ripped away from him?

A hell of a ride is the story in the book. Great characters and lots of steamy scenes. This one had me at the edge of my seat. Loved it!!
