A new queen is born, enemies strengthen their grasp across the lands, and new alliances are forged in this exciting sequel to Reign of the Dragon Queen.
Just when she was finally adjusting to life as a dragon rider and queen, a series of attacks against her people and the lives of those she holds dear throws Meilene's life into chaos. Their enemies grow stronger and so must she, no matter the cost.
The hatching of a new queen casts doubt on her ability to lead, and the shift in power may be what her enemies need to take control for themselves. The dragons chose her to lead for a reason, if only she can figure out why before it's too late.
Meilene's journey continues as she struggles to keep those closest to her safe as two wars wage against the dragon riders.
SJM fans would enjoy this series great plot and unexpected surprises. Can’t wait for the next book. Love watching the main characters grow as the story progresses.
These dragons do not spew flames! Interesting. The characters are interesting. The story is about a young woman who is inexplicably drawn to bond with a special dragon, a Reina. Her trials at coping and learning are difficult. However by this book she is definitely becoming the Reina she is supposed to be. The author has not had a very good editor however. The homophone errors are many. A few missing words and rare typos exist. Fortunately the story is good enough that this can be overlooked.
I feel like the end for the BBEG was a bit rushed and over too quickly, but I do love the revelation Mielene and Aletizia got to have. Had to push through around the middle of the book to not DNF but the ending was worth it
