Cyrus LongBones and the Yeti Kingdom
After defeating the Sea Zombie, sixteen-year-old Cyrus LongBones has a plan to rescue his stranded village. He sets out in search of the Yeti Kingdom, but instead is taken prisoner in hostile territory. Cyrus discoverers that an evil being, known as the Queen, has crushed the Yeti Kingdom and captured its people. Cyrus breaks free of his prison, committing murder in the process, and is chased into the mountains. He must find this Queen and the missing yeti if he is to rescue his village, but will the yeti help a murderer, and is Cyrus prepared for the Queen's true identity?

Greeting adventure seekers, from the treacherous frozen north.
My name is Jeremy Mathiesen, and I’ve wanted to create stories ever since I was a little kid.
I remember being five years old, watching Indiana Jones in the theater, excited and shaking in my seat. As the giant stone rolled towards Indi, I remember realizing that someone, somewhere had created this movie for people like me, and through it, was playing our emotions like a fiddle. It felt like true magic.
I remember, a few years later, seeing The Return of the Jedi with my dad and brother. It seemed like the story I was experiencing reached far beyond what I could see on screen, like the Star Wars universe had a history and depth greater than real life. I knew that one day when I grew up, I wanted to be involved in that kind of creativity.
I was a terrible student. I was held back in elementary school, and suffered from crippling learning disabilities, but always the desire to create stories stuck with me. My teen years were not my favorite. I barely graduated high school, but I was a decent artist. When I was nineteen, I was accepted into animations school. A year later I was hired by Mainframe Entertainment animating cartoons like Reboot and Transformers. It was a lot of fun, but I still wasn’t doing what I felt I was meant to do. At the age of twenty-three, I had the idea for my Cyrus LongBones series. When I turned twenty-eight, with zero writing ability, and dodgy English grades, I decided I was going to write my first book. I joined the West End Writers Group, and the Western Canadian Children’s Writers Group and I started writing every day, and I haven’t stopped since.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I look forward to when the next book in the series will be released.

This is the sequel to Cyrus LongBones and the Curse of the Sea Zombie, Jeremy Mathiesen’s sophomore book. In this book he continues his excellent story telling and thrilling adventure of Cyrus LongBones.
But again in this book Cyrus is such a coward, it actually got on my nerves. He showed very little to no strength and I literally was getting angry at him and disgusted by this. But then towards the end of the book, something in him broke, and he became a raging monster to the point of acting without thinking. It seemed almost too much of a radical change, from Angel to Demon kind of change.
Besides that, I thought the story and writing was top notch and it kept my attention throughout. Now I have to patiently wait for the third book!
This book is a bit darker and a lot more action packed than the first book. It is a quick read even though it is almost nearly 400 pages. I read it in probably 5 or so hours.
This is a pretty clean read when it comes to swearing and sex, but it has a lot of fighting but not too gruesome but I would say kids should be 9-10+ years old to read it.
I did find some errors throughout in this one, but they are minor things that the author will quickly fix I’m sure.
Unfortunately this book has DRM, so I have to subtract a point for that.

The second installment finds the reader joining Cyrus, Edward and Fibian on their northward sailing. The travelers encounter more danger and fighting in their quest for information on how to save Cyrus' home and people. There are lots of different creatures, none we are familiar with in our daily lives, some good, some not so good. We cannot help but cheer for the young Cyrus and his friends. The book is filled with lots of intense anticipation and uncertainty as to how the story will end.
There is a large amount of fighting so if you or your younger reader are not up for that this may not be the best book for you. All in all the adventures as they journey on their search for the Yeti Kingdom, as part of the larger quest to save Cyrus' home, were enjoyable. I will seek out the 3rd book in the series as well.

This book was a rollicking good time and just the sort of action and adventure book I loved as a teen. Do be aware that it is a bit darker that the first book in the series, so maybe a 13+ read. No sex, just fighting (and war. This is the second book in the series, and I definitely advise reading book I first, so you know the history of what is going on (you know, how we got here😉.) Cyrus is in the fight for his life again, and maybe his soul. I love this series' unique and creative world-building and its interesting characters. Bring on Book 3.

Froskman, Bladbod, Two Evil Queens and a Young Alveling!
Cyrus LongBones is no longer the innocent youth we grew to admire in book 1. The prophesy fortelling the rise of a savior capable of defeating the Black Queen may be realized eventually. This book is far darker than book 1. It definitely is not fun to read as book 1 was. Jeremy Mathiesen's Cyrus LongBones and the Yeti Kingdom ends with "to be continued". Therefore, book 3 is coming and hopefully it will be less grim.

This was so good! Full of actions and it never stopped accept when you didn’t want it .. where is the third book when you need it? 😂 I felt the maturity of the writing and the development of the characters are well done, you are feeling the growing of Cyrus and I enjoyed the new characters. Can’t wait for more Jeremy.. when do we have the third one?

I really enjoyed the first of this series and couldn't wait for this one. It was worth the wait! Very good story line and the characters are great. I can't wait to see where the next one takes us!

What a fun exciting read. Cyrus is growing up so fast and the pressure of his adventure has changed him . This book is a bit darker than the previous one. All and all a good read. Probably would rate this book as a PG 13 just due to the war like way the story has gone.
Mr Mathison is a gifted story teller and creates good characters and a wonderful world. Lots of action and plot twist keep the reader on his toes. All in all a solid 4 star read.

In the second book of the Cyrus Longbones series our hero becomes a true warrior in the fight against the Sea Zombie.
Cyrus and his companions, Fabian the Froskman and Edward the Blodbad spider, locate the island of the Yetis. They must seek the Yetis help to locate the long-lost Hune, a giant sea turtle that is the twin of the dead island Cyrus’ village was founded on. But the Yetis are a shadow of their former glory. Most of their kind have been enslaved by a mysterious Queen in an iron mine far to the north.
The trio of friends manage to find the mine and at the same time find the Hune, although not as they would have expected. Cyrus drinks forbidden blood and becomes a giant with super-human healing powers. But in becoming physically powerful he loses sight of his own humanity, and his lust for revenge threatens to overpower his good nature.
Cyrus learns to fight and kill, but is it at the price of his soul? I can’t wait to dive into book three and find the answers.

Great story!
I read the books out of order...I have the first book but read this one first without realizing it. An incredible journey for such a young man to embark upon. The story is loaded with trolls, elves, yeti and so much more! The fight for good against evil is happening in every realm. But I was very surprised to see it rated for 9-12 year olds. No way I'd want my children to read this book if they were that age. The innocence of youth is stolen early enough as it is.

Loved! This second book is darker than the first but still, so good! Cyrus is learning more about the evils in his world, trying to find those he can trust (besides Edward and Fibian), and still trying to find a way to save his people and his town, all while learning there might be darkness in his own heart. Great read!

For a YA novel, this got a little dark for my taste. In some ways, I feel like this is where the book needed to go, but it is rough to encounter when it is unexpected. Overall, the book was well written and this author's descriptions are super detailed. I love the new characters and creatures being invented. Fibian remains my favorite character, but Cyrus was improving, until he wasn't. I feel like Cyrus is way too black or white, he can't seem to reach a middle ground and stay there. Hopefully, book three puts Cyrus in a nice happy grey area. This was a good book, that I would recommend, but maybe to an older audience than the first book would lead you to believe.

Cyrus's adventures continue in this story. He is in search of the Yeti's, who the Sea Zombie has not been able to defeat to get help for his people. He hopes that they know of the Hune, a giant turtle that has a forest on its back that can be his new home.
When he finds his first Yeti, it is not as he hopes for. The Yeti's are few and in hiding. The Yeti leader tells them that they will never be allowed to leave because they do not want to be found by the creatures who have enslaved the rest of their people. Cyrus is determined to fine the Hune and plans his escape.
This begins his next adventure, which brings him more pain and takes a darker turn.
I plan to read the next one to see if Cyrus can fulfill the prophecy that says he will defeat the Sea Zombie. Also, to see if he came come out of the dark path, he seems to be going down.

Poor Cyrus is once again in the position of fighting for his life and the future of his village. But this time even his allies turn against him. This is a much more violent and bloodied book than the first one. I think a rating of 14 or older would be appropriate. The fighting and bloodshed is very graphically written. The way the queen develops her armies is barbaric and beyond cruel. But Cyrus and his friends keep pushing on to win the battle. Have they picked the wrong battle this time, they are terribly outnumbered, or can the prevail as before? Lots of adventure and action.

First of all, I have suspicions that this is a previously published author using a new name. The writing is just a little more polished than you would expect from someone who only has three books out. Maybe I'm just crazy, but I could also be right!
I went into this series totally blind but I've been wanting to branch out with my book reviews and break away from romance so I jumped on this opportunity! I, of course, read all three books and even though they were no where near my regular genre choice I loved them. They were immediately recommended to my boyfriend and anyone lese who enjoys the fantasy adventure genres. Fantastic for a binge.
