Everything is not what it seems in the world of shifters.

I had to learn that the hard way. Exiled from my pack at a young age, I have now returned to help save the wolves from destruction. With my ex-best friend turned enemy turned something else entirely and his betas, I have to travel through the forest, searching for the first shifter and answers to the rising questions.

Rylan may have hated me once, but now, something else is brewing beneath the surface. And I can't deny the pull I feel toward him. But when my powers lead us to danger, it will take more than our undeniable connection to see us through.

It will take sacrifice to survive.

If you love fast-paced action, enemies-to-lovers romance, snarky heroines and broody wolf shifters, then you’ll love Wolf Untamed, the next book in a pulse-pounding series by USA Today Bestselling author, Valia Lind.

Now that’s how you write a sequel!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: kissing nothing explicit

I’ll admit when I started this book I was about 30% in and felt a little like I was just getting a recap of book one and I was disappointed that the characters felt like they took 3 major steps back in development rather than any steps forward but when I hit about the 40% mark things made a dramatic shift! The plot picked up speed, the characters were back to the characters I remembered and loved, and the romance (which I’ll be honest is what I was really here for) picked up exponentially. It finally felt like they were moving from enemies and hatred to at least some version of friendship! More about that later though, because man once the plot picked up it really picked up!!!

So this book picks up pretty much immediately after the events of book one, so definitely read that one first as these can’t be read as standalones. There maybe spoilers for book one in this review so if you haven’t read book one, I don’t suggest reading this review any farther. After the cliffhanger ending of book one our characters begin the second half the book on a mission to find the Ancient one. And after a little bit of help from the Hawthorne witches, and a few leads our two MC Trinity, and Rylan are off to see if they can begin unraveling or at least understanding what’s happening to the missing wolves… of course nothing is ever that easy and after being shot at, lured into a magical but disturbing town, and then finding themselves in a forest that seems to wants them perished rather than alive. They begin to realize that maybe they’ve chosen the wrong people to align themselves with as the obstacles they seem face are specifically tailored to them. And that’s the best synopsis I can give you with just enough to keep you interested but not enough to spoil anything!! If you think the plot is the only thing I loved about this book though, the characters are not to be beat!!

In this book we get an even more in depth look into just who Trinity and Rylan are and the past that made them. Trinity in this book at first felt like a totally different character to me she seemed to leave the take no **** attitude behind and began to question every decision, look, touch she made which I’ll admit felt like a big step back in her character development. But after an event in the story, that you’ll have to read to know what I’m referring to, she’s back to the sassy, confident, Trinity we all know and love!! And when she got back to herself we finally got to see some movement on the romance front, which I was more than excited for because I love Rylan!! And I loved that we got his POV in this book even though it was in relatively short bursts! I loved that we finally got his thoughts on Trinity, and not just the possessive, wanting looks. As well as his POV on what transpired between them in the past!! And I love that we got to see how deeply he really felt for her and can’t wait to see more, hopefully, in book 3!! Truly though the highlight for me was getting to see a development in their enemies to lovers relationship, it was nice to see them go from fighting their feelings, to longing looks (while still fighting their feelings), to open touches, and finally a sizzling kiss!! Their romance is simply one of my favorites and is another thing I can’t wait to see more of in book 3!!

I’ll say that this was a sequel I truly enjoyed and was very close to a five star read for me. The only reason I took one star off is because I felt like it took just a little to long for us to get recapped and into what felt like the new part of the story. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves books with a slow burn enemies to lovers romance, an interesting take on a magical apocalypse, secondary characters that you’ll love as much as the MCs as well as betrayals you may or may not see coming!!

Happy Reading 📖

This series just gets better and better!! I am so in love with these characters and in this book the world building was incredible!!

Rylan and Trinity come against so many odds, but get through so much. But will their luck run out?

I loved the magical forest! As much as I wouldn’t want to be stuck in it, I found it so fascinating!

This is a unique paranormal romance. The romance is slow building, but mostly because of their pasts. There are so many shocking twists and turns, a lot of healing and a bit of a cliffhanger. So I’m going to need the next book asap…haha….no pressure.

If you haven’t read book one, you definitely should! Valia writes the best stories, whether it’s retellings or paranormal or whatever, she knows how to make you fall in love with the characters, and she keeps a fast pace that keeps you flipping the pages, but not so fast that you lose the depth of the story. If you love werewolves, witches and magic, you will love this series!!!

This one continues where book 1 leaves off. It has so much action and drama throughout it. Trinity in this one seems just a tad bit of having the why me attitude but yet we also see her growing. Rylan is the grumpy kind of guy that we also see learning more about himself. This story is one that has me on the edge of my seat unable to put it down. I absolutely had to see where it was heading, what was causing all the madness with the shifters and how was it going to stop. We didn’t get to see many questions answered but goodness did this story have so many twists and turns throughout it. It seems that they just can’t catch a break on anything. The story is extremely well written and developed. It amazing descriptions that just draws you deeper into the rabbit hole with them. It is a fantastic journey and then it ends in an extremely major cliffhanger. I definitely can’t wait to see what happens next.

I loved the first book in the series and had high hopes for this one unfortunately it did not quotient live up to the expectation. Valia writes so many amazing books but for me this was not her bestIt seemed like there were a lot of scenes that furthered the characters relationship but not the plot with none of the amazing fight scenes from the first book. I struggled with the fact that the main character seemed to do all this thinking and internal ‘therapy’ without actually expressing any of it to the other chargers or in her behaviour. Despite this this is a well written book that continues the series well and provides some action and romance. While the second book was not as good as the first I still recommend it as a read.

I really enjoyed reading more of Trinity and Rylan's story. This one picks up right where we left off in the White Wolf Saga and expands the world considerably. Trinity and Rylan adventure beyond the pack to work to uncover what's happening with the kidnapped wolves and the Ancients. I loved seeing more of their world and plot mystery established. Trinity and Rylan also do a lot of emotional work in this one to work through their history and tangled pasts.

This was a satisfying sequel and I highly recommend it for fans of paranormal shifter romance. I am very excited to continue their story. Another compelling book from Valia Lind. Thank you so much to Valia providing me with an e-arc of this book.

frenemies to allies and so much more!

When in rains it pours! So many obstacles in this book! Just when you think they got it figured out, bam! Fate is like no you dont - it was definitely a struggle for our leads! More questions then answers which is frustrating for us the reader but im having fun trying to figure it out with our characters!! im happy with the progress in the romance department but i do wish it was faster!! its definitely slow… but the burn is so worth it .

Such a good sequel. Trinity is dealing with a lot. She has a power she doesnt understand and feelings she hasnt worked through. When they get to Williamsburg, weird things are happening. With Rylan's help, she attempts to enter a magical forest, but things go awry. Finding the first shifter turns out to be harder than they thought!

I really liked the character development and the added layers. Cant wait to see what happens next!

I love Rylan and Trinity's story and how they are growing into the alpha they are meant to be. Waited so long for this book and it was not a disappointment at all. Cant wait for the 3rd boom to see how their story is going to end!!

I like where the author seems to want this series to go, but I feel like we spend too much time not progressing on their relationship and not enough time on her potential alpha powers (among other things). Series is still worth a try, as I appreciate a shifter series that doesn’t focus heavily on spice.

Book 2... Trinity is still annoying me. Then I remember she's only a teenager hence all the angst. It feels like she's constantly getting them caught in tough situations. Not a fan of YA fiction, so it's a middle of the road rating.
