Three years ago my tormentors kidnapped me from my bed with the promise of ending our longstanding animosity. During the two days on that mountain, disturbing secrets were revealed and heavy feelings exposed. In one night, everything I thought I knew shifted. Regardless, I couldn’t stay in their twisted world. Maybe I broke their hearts, but they had hardened mine.
Now West, Blake, and Cody are back for their pound of flesh. Debts will be paid, consequences be damned. What I didn’t realize when I walked away from everything was that I would forever change the course of their lives, just as they had mine.
But as complicated feelings resurface and lines are blurred under the guise of my own safety, another threat emerges. Can I count on them to have my back after everything we’ve put each other through, or will they toss me to the wolves in a final act of revenge?
Nichole is a contemporary romance author. When she isn't writing, she's chasing her four children around. Writing has always been her aspiration but it wasn't until her husband suggested she actually follow dreams that she took the biggest step. Her debut novel, Cold and Broken exceeded her expectations and she can't wait to share more of the stories taking up space in her mind.

'🆃🅷🅴 🅷🆄🅽🆃' Is a full length suspenseful reverse harem romance book, by new to me author Nichole Greene. This is Violet, West, Blake, and Cody's story.
I’d seen this doing it’s rounds on Facebook, one look at the cover, a glimpse over the blurb and I was all in I couldn’t wait to dive in upon purchasing. The beginning had my heart beating out of sync, hunted in the forest by the three who wanted to claim her not knowing that a predator also had his sights set on her.
West's bullying and hatred ran deep after things in Violets life took a turn for the worst when her parents died in an avalanche in the small town Roaring Forks, Colorado. If it wasn't hard enough losing both parents it was harder even still losing her best friend West when out of the blue he turned on her and taunted her any way he could.
The night of graduation is where he and the boys take it up a level. If she can beat them all up Cascade Peak the mountain where her parents met their demise they will pay her college tuition in full, but if she looses she will become their's.
The HUNT is on... Game on because she's up for the challenge and hasn't backed down to either of them for years.
Seeking refuge in a cabin nestled up on the mountain changed everything, but before it could become something monumental between all of them she leaves town behind in her rear view mirror.
Years later and the guys have hunted her down in a small town in Alaska. And it’s here where I found myself enjoying the book even more.
As far as RH books go this was well done, I loved the group dynamics. There was no alpha, no jealousy, and it just worked perfectly as though they were all mean't to be together. This will definitely not be the only book I'll read by this author.
This was beyond 🔥🔥 the only thing that really niggled me was the abrupt ending which was the 'epilogue' felt rushed which is a shame.
I love Violet and enjoyed how she never back down to West, Cody and Blake when they bullied her. West bullying and hatred was more because Violet broke his heart when they were alil younger when her parents died. But for the past few years they made her life a living hell now its time to graduate and they have a thing called the Hunt and they kidnap her and chase her. If she wins they let her go and pay for her schooling if she loses she's there's. But some problems happen and they have a night to remember before Violet ups and runs. 4 years later West and the guys are tracking her down and they found her. The tension is high because they need to deal with all the past and violets uncle who is trying to find her. The group has some spice scenes together, secerts are told and forgiveness

Honestly, it’s taken me a minute to figure out what I want to say about ‘The Hunt’ because truly there’s so much to say, but I also don’t want to spoil anything for anyone. This is definitely one of those books that’s most entertaining when you go in mostly clueless.
There’s a childhood besties to enemies to plot. It’s why choose. There’s some primal kink lite. It’s also second chance romance. Oh, and there’s a suspenseful subplot and some dark/heavy themes as well. SEE, there’s a lot to say and that’s not even all of it. Violet, West, Cody, and Blake truly take us on a rollercoaster. From waking up in the middle of the woods to HEA. It’s.. a ride. I enjoyed this story so much. The romance was angsty and emotional. The steam was… so damn hot. The subplot kept me guessing and honestly had me a little bit stressed at some points because I was worried for our mains.
If you enjoy second chances, suspenseful subplots, why choose, and a heroine who keeps her heroes in check even when they think they have the control… then check out The Hunt!
I haven’t backed down from them in years and I sure as fuck won’t be starting now. They want to battle, we’ll go to war.
CW/TW (could contain what some consider spoilers): bullying, neglect, assault, kidnapping, primal play, choking, dubcon, violence, marking, negative body image, death. (off page): death of a parent, abortion/abortion discussion
This had so much potential but I honestly hated it. I almost DNF'd a couple of times. It's a shame because I actually really liked the premise of this. The creepy woodsy vibe was right up my alley, and the idea of the guys hunting Violet through the woods was so interesting and would have been amazing if it was written well.
But the pacing was absolutely terrible and the writing was all over the place. The whole thing was so rushed and nothing was fully explored or fleshed out, so in the end nothing really made sense?
There was no enemies-to-lovers whatsoever. The bully/torment angle would have worked so well with this plot but it was briefly mentioned once in the beginning and there was nothing to show for it. Everything is forgiven instantly and immediately resolved or just completely glossed over, and there's no angst or tension.
You're constantly being told and not shown, none of the characters are fleshed out, there's no depth to any of them or to any of the interactions. I couldn't connect to a single one of them, and none of their motivations made sense because they weren't explored.
I kind of wish it had just been done in a single POV from Violet, rather than having chapters from all of the boys too. It would have created a lot of tension and suspense in the beginning part of the book, but everything was being offered up too quickly and easily and there was no intrigue behind the boys' motives or intentions.
The entire book should have just been the first part, but in a lot more detail and more action and depth.
Part Two just wasn't interesting whatsoever, the only thing good about it was the spice, but even that was dived into too quickly and unrealistic at times. I did like the reverse harem aspect though and the MM vibes. Also the body positivity with a curvy heroine was a plus.
And, I would DIE for Blue, the crow 💕 the true star of this book. I develop an unhealthy attachment to fictional animals, it seems.
But I definitely wouldn't read anything from this author again.
I knew when I first saw Nichole talk about this book it would be something I’d love. A good reverse harem, bit of a mystery, angsty as hell? Sign me up. Plus the scenery had me falling in love, so easy to escape into.
I was quickly intrigued by this group. I thought the initial premise was interesting and couldn’t wait to see it play out, imagine my surprise when I got to part two. I really adored watching these characters figure out how to come together and it revolves around Violet and keeping her safe. And the fist bumps had me grinning.
I definitely recommend this book especially if you’re in a reading slump. With it being fast paced and easy to read, made it hard to put down.
I enjoyed the plot except of some details, like the age of the heroine and heroes, however I did find the whole hunt concept interesting. What I did not like was definitely the writing, which I found slightly annoying at times. Overall an okay book but wouldn’t read again or recommend.
I really liked this one and the steam was top notch!
What I loved: 1. I enjoyed the three guys in this why choose romance. Each has their own purpose and dynamic with the heroine, and I enjoyed their individual moments as well as the group scenes. 2. The heroine was definitely feisty and put up a fight with the guys. 3. I did love the suspense plot line too. 4. I consumed this in a little over a day. I’ve been in such a book slump, so it was nice to get lost in a new world. 5 The steam was amazing, pairings and group scenes were so good.
What I needed more of: 1. This is labeled as a dark romance and it really isn’t. There is some suspense in the beginning and end but none really threaded through. The synopsis also made it seem like that was always going to be danger lurking but never was. 2. There is not a lot of depth to the guys and even their relationship. The beginnings are there but I wanted to see more. 3. The bully aspect of this story was only talked about, and not that I want or need to see bullying in romance, but it was a lot of them talking about how mean they were without really seeing it. 4. I wanted more depth, more development with the characters and the story overall.
If you are looking for a book with steam, why choose with a bit of suspense , I think you would love it.
Picked this up since others were sharing some of the steamy scenes and this is a new to me author. and the steamy parts were pretty good. But, there were parts of this didn't really work for me. In part, I dont think my expectations were appropriately calibrated- in part because of the way the book is advertised. Bully- not so much. Dark- not really. The writing style also seemed to rely a lot of telling vs. showing, off page content that is character critical, and some elements just didn't feel well developed or fully dimensional. The heroine is likable, but the guys felt a bit one dimensional- which is just a personal preference with RH- I like the heroes to be as complex as the heroine. All in all, entertaining, just now quite what I wanted/expected- but the steam was def good, and many seem to be really enjoying it- so if you like steamy RH, check it out.
I did enjoy the overall idea and could see where the author was going with the suspense, but I found myself wishing for more depth in the characters and sharper development in certain plot points. The twists were there, but not all of them landed as strongly as I hoped.
When I first started this book I was expecting dark. Not that it is a bad thing that it wasn't, but I was expecting darker themes.
Moving on...
Violet was the girl in school that literally could care less what people thought of her. She wanted to get in and finish the school year and move out of her godforsaken town. But it wouldn't have been the end of their senior year without "The Hunt". Much to Vi's dismay, she was the chosen one for the boy's little game.
I will say I still really liked this book. One thing that will never fail to get me fired up though is a time jump. FOUR YEARS! Nichole, why do you enjoy hurting us like this?
The spice in this was good (as usual with Nichole's writing). If you're looking to dip your toes into spice and light grey books, this is def. one I recommend starting with.
TW: Assault/ body issues regarding appearance & weight / homophobia /kidnapping / abortion (off page), death of parent (off page)
I love discovering a great standalone story because I don't always have the time to dedicate to reading a longer series and I've also gotten a little burnt out with longer series that seem to drag everything out. THE HUNT not only has intriguing characters and character dynamics, but also some amazing scenery visuals. This is a friends to enemies to lovers story. The spice definitely wasn't lacking, but also perfectly balanced throughout the story so it enhanced the story rather than overpowering it.
I will point out that there are MM scenes without the main female being included (only pointing it out because there are always those reviewers who find it necessary to rate a book poorly simply because they can't move past their aversion to these types of relationships). I personally loved the scenes because it showed that it is possible to have different dynamics between male characters in a why choose situation and still have the end goal of all of them being focused on the heroine. I loved the heroine isn't photoshop perfect. She has insecurities that most women have about the imperfections on their bodies (stretch marks, thick thighs, rounded belly, etc.). But I loved that the guys made a point of showing her that she was beautiful exactly as she was and also supported the difficult choices she made.
This is the first book I’ve read from Nichole, and I am immediately a die hard fan after it. There’s no going back.
Firstly, the writing in and of itself is beautifully crafted. The plot, characters and every detail put into this book was perfectly executed; making this read one of the most enjoyable ones I’ve embarked on this year.
Secondly, the spice. 🌶 *chef’s kiss. It did not disappoint. And on top of the actual sexiness of it all, there was also a ton of emotional and romantic aspects to this relationship with Violet, West, Cody and Blake. And it was an utter masterpiece. 🖤🖤🖤🤍

Star athlete, primed to take over his family’s ranch one day, living his best life. • Blake, the one who feels like he didn’t fit in being 1/2 Korean growing up in a primarily white populated mountain town. • The night of their graduation they drug and kidnap Violet from her bed and leave her on the mountainside with a pack and a walk-in talkie. The goal? Get to the peak before them. She wins and they pay her tuition for college IN FULL. They win….they get her! • Then a time jump. A reunion. A CRAZY twist I didn’t see coming, and a WHOLE lot of love, rebuilt trust, and STEEEAM!! • This is a MMFM reverse harem that will allow the feminism to stay completely intact in your body! It’s full of heartache, betrayal, swoon, sass, and steam! Nichole never disappoints me! If you enjoy a reverse harem, then you’ll love this fast paced intriguing read!!
This was a wild, emotional rollercoaster ride of a story that had me captivated right from the start.
Violet, Cody, West and Blake have an intense and rough start to their relationship. The boys play little games that end up hurting Violet, even though that wasn’t their intention. They so desperately want to make her theirs but past bullying makes it hard for Violet to trust them.
I loved the dynamics between the four of them and the fact that Violet makes them work hard for her love.
This story was well written with some twists and turns throughout that kept me turning the pages quickly just to see how it was going to all play out in the end.
This is probably one of my favorite RH stand-alones to date. The story was good and I very much enjoyed the writing style which kept me hooked the entire time. It was an easy read even though it wasn't hard to tell the direction the author was going with the plot. They spicy scenes were on point!
This was my first book by this author and I knew that I needed to read it when I saw it had RH and angst in it! I’m always down for a good Reverse Harem ❥
This has spice, angst en mystery in it and was well written. It was very fast paced and it kept me going, I love that in a book!
I would definitely recommend this book if you want to read a spicy, fast and simple read!
“One thing I do know, no one hurts her but us. It’s always been that way. All three of us are always ready to go to the mat for her.”
2.5 stars but I can’t round up.
This book isn’t really about what the book is advertised as being about. For one, it’s not dark. It’s got minor bully elements at the beginning but it’s mostly 3 guys simping for Violet and her being like “I caaant”. Nobody’s “hunting” anyone - they even specifically say how they’ve never hunted anything. This felt like a group of immature post-college kids having fun.
Things didn’t make sense. Why were they so mad at her? West was mad because of an incident at 11 years old, but why were Blake and Cody mad at her? How is the bird psychic and helpful? Why wouldn’t poor Violet tell rich Cody she needed help in Portland (won’t spoil why)? Why does no one use condoms? Why would 3 successful men drop everything and move to some random town in Alaska?? What happened to Mitch? What happened to the girl West was flirting with at the restaurant?
The separate spicy scenes were decently done, but the group scenes were not realistic and took me out of the story bc I was chuckling. It felt repetitive with the same words - fucking fuck, soaking folds, cum, biting her clit etc. Idk.
I wanted to love this but it did not work for me, on multiple levels. The story could’ve benefitted from more pages - it felt rushed and lots of what would’ve been important details got lost on the way. This had a lot of potential but unfortunately just was not for me.
OK this is the only book that I’ve ever read in 1 sitting. Some parts were sort of hard to follow & some of the details didn’t make sense ??? BUT there were some SPICY scenes. I liked the romance & mystery combo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The hunt was good and I liked the characters but sometimes the story flow would be off. Overall I liked the story and it's great if your wanting a quick why choose kind of book!
“Cherry, nothing gets me harder than chasing you. Haven’t you figured that out yet?”
The Hunt is a wonderful little story about forgiveness, second chances, and a dangerous secret on a Colorado mountain. Violet has just graduated high school when she’s drugged in her bedroom by her three high school bullies: West, Blake, and Cody. She wakes up to a note telling her she must reach the top of Cascade Peak before they catch her or else she belongs them. Things don’t go as planned and the four spend one incredible night together in a cabin. By morning Violet has vanished into thin air, but the guys have no plans to let her go so the hunt begins.
This poly relationship romance was pretty good and easy to follow. The author did a great job at making each personality distinct, relatable, and lovable. I loved the amount of understanding and how not judgmental the guys where when it came to Violet. In their own ways they had great communication skills and were quick to shut down Violet’s insecurities, self doubt, and tendency to blame herself. I enjoyed the bits of suspense and uneasiness that followed me throughout the book. Overall this was a good first read and it definitely makes me want to read more of Nichole’s books!
TWs: on page physical assault and attempted rape of the FMC (not by any of the MMCs), mention of parental deaths, mention of homophobia/biphobia, threats such as slashed tires, brief discussion of a past abortion, attempted murder of FMC (not by MMCs) and murder in self defense, drugging and kidnapping of the FMC
What to expect: -RH (3 M & 1 F) -primal kink -bisexual rep -protective animal companions (1 crow & 2 German Shepherds) -mystery and suspense -4 year time jump -ex friends to lovers -they were her bullies in high school -forced proximity -small Alaskan town -DVP, DP -he loves her stretch marks -the bullying is in the past but they are obsessed with her
I’m very anti stories where the author just TELLS us something instead of showing us. I find that this book does that a lot. First, we’re told that this is a bully book but we don’t really see the three guys bully or torment violet past one singular comment at their graduation ceremony and a memory flashback to something they once did.
Then four years pass, and we’re TOLD about Cody being disowned, him sparking a relationship with Blake, Violet running and creating a life for herself, Violet finding out she was pregnant and having an abortion, etc. We are told these things, but we don’t actually get to see them play out. This also hinders the romance aspect since it seems to develop so fast but we’re already struggling to fully understand our characters and their stories.
The big climax with Violet’s uncle and the dirty hiker, as well as the truth about her parents’ deaths falls flat and happens quickly, leaving me feeling indifferent overall.
We don’t get any real depth to the guys other than a few minuscule things thrown in, like Cody being disowned or Blake’s inner monologue mentioning once that he didn’t feel like he quite fit in to his all white town being half Korean. So it becomes hard to relate to and care for these characters since we don’t get much from them.
Mitch was a goddamn waste of time and a clearly failed attempt at a red herring in this story. He disappears fairly early on and makes NO return to the story, so he was useless.
Anyway. 3/5 I guess. Not an awful story, but definitely some parts that I feel are lacking.
When I read the blurb for this book is sounded soo good and I knew I needed to read it! Now, after having read it, I completely devoured this one- I loved this book!
We meet Violet at her HS graduation. Not really having any family after her parents died a few years prior. The only attention she seems to be getting is from the guys that bullied her all throughout the last 4 years. West. Cody. Blake. As much as she hates their attention, she craves it at the same time and wants more. After forgoing the end of HS party, she escapes home to sleep it off and start a new beginning the following day. Only, when she wakes up in the middle of the forest the next day with a backpack and notes...she realizes the guys "Hunt" they were talking about, included her as the prey.
Trying to move forward, the guys big plan to reveal their true feelings to Violet ends up in a unforgettable few nights of steam and longing. But Violet cant just erase the last four years like it was nothing and escapes early morning with no turning back.
Fast forward four years later and the guys are finally closing in. Wanting what they cant have. Will Violet finally see them for what they have to offer now? Can they claim the woman who owns their heart? When Violet has a stalker and is not willing to be nice, can the guys keep her safe?
I really enjoyed Part 1 and Part two of this book! The author did a great job at keeping the flow. The only thing I wish the author went over more - was I wanted the guys to grovel a little bit more or feel more remorse for all they put her through before. And I was really sad this was a standalone. I could have read this in a series! I really loved the plot. Overall, this was a great story! Steamy, suspenseful and original. The angst between all of the characters kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't figure out why she was being stalked. The reason was one I did not see coming and enjoyed the little twist.
I have read a few books from this author now and really enjoy them all! I'm looking forward to reading more.
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Fast Burn *Stretch mark kink (obsession) *MMFM Romance (Light MM) *Ends in HEA
Violet was orphaned when her parents died in an avalanche and was sent to live with her uncle, who was an addict. Just after she lost her parents, her best friend, West stopped speaking to her and a long with his two friends Cody and Blake they have made sure she is an outcast and warned every other guy away from her.
They want her all to themselves and after graduation its finally time for them to make their claim so they devised a plan called ‘The Hunt’.
“Violet- You’ve been chosen for the hunt. Beat us up Cascade Peak and your college tuition will be paid for in full. But if we catch you first, you’re ours. RUN”
She doesn’t trust the boys, for obvious reasons and just when they think they have caught her, she runs.
I was drawn into the story from the beginning and there were twists I didn’t see coming. A lot happened in the last 10% of the book and I feel like those events were a bit rushed. But overall, I really enjoyed the book. It’s a great stand-alone RH if you are looking for one.
This book...just wow! It was so good, and not what I was originally expecting. I would say this is a friends to enemies to lovers book, but it's so much more than that.
Violet lost her parents in an accident and goes to live with her sleazeball of an uncle. She's bullied by her former childhood best friend West, and his friends Blake and Cody. The day after they graduate high school, Violet finds herself in the Colorado wilderness, and while it might have been where she grew up, she's not just there for a leisurely adventure. No, the boys have taken her and given her an ultimatum. Get to the top of the Peak before they do and have her college tuition paid for, but if they make it to the top first, she's theirs for the summer.
After a twist of events and one wild night together, Violet leaves the boys, and Colorado behind. But little does she know that wherever she goes, they'll find her. 4 years later, she's living her life in Alaska, but the past always has a way of catching up with you, in a good and bad way.
This was another amazing story by Nichole, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! Please be sure to read the trigger warnings!!
The premise of this book had so much potential, but overall was disappointing.
When the book started I was so excited for “The Hunt” but it got cut so short. It felt like the parts of the book that could have held so much buildup and tension got sped past.
I think this was suppose to be a “bully” romance and maybe 5% of the book had bully in it. Every issue seems to be resolved so quickly or glossed right over.
Some of the language used to build up a MM storyline felt weird to me. “Sometimes I’ll find myself looking at him and wondering if I’m a little gay or if he’s just that f-ing hot.”
That sentence really distracted me through the rest of the book and I kept going back to it.
If I hadn’t received it as an ARC I probably would have DNF’d. I think this book could definitely use more sensitivity readers from the LGBTQ+ community to fix the language issues.
Nichole Greene's newest release is one of my all time favorites!
I tend to fall in love with each new group of characters she writes! I started reading the second I got the book downloaded and I swear I didn't leave my couch until the book was finished.
The Hunt is a standalone Dark M/M/M/F romance that starts out a little dark and angsty but leaves you with a sweet and satisfying ending. The relationship between Violet, West, Cody and Blake had me shaking my head, laughing and cheering them all on throughout the whole story and the epilogue was *chefs kiss* The spicy was really good and the overall story was attention grabbing and kept me hooked from the start!
4.25 ⭐️. I thoroughly enjoyed this. This almost feels like if ‘Credence’ was set-up as a ‘why choose’ romance, with some added guy-on-guy action thrown in there. Yet, despite this comparison, this feels like a unique work on its own. It straddles the boundaries between genres, as it veers into suspense on numerous occasions.
The premise is very interesting purely on its own, especially given that our heroine has a curvy/plus size figure. That, and the added ‘friends-to-lovers’ angle between 2 out of the 3 guys (Cody and Blake) makes this feel like an entirely unique take on the RH-trope, where the men are usually entirely focused on the heroine only. The resulting story is very entertaining from start to finish.
This is reverse harem, so obviously the spice was immaculate. I have read anything RH where this wasn’t the case. Overall, a quick, impactful, and incredibly 🌶🌶🌶 read.
