Solomon Macaroni is the sweetest vampire you’ve ever met. Can he survive one hundred years staying with his naughty prankster cousins?
You’ve never met a vampire like Solomon Macaroni before – he’s friendly, polite and makes a mean tofu bolognese. Understandably, when his parents go on a one-hundred-year cruise without him, Solomon is not impressed. Especially because it means having to stay in creepy Transylvania with his six cousins, who are the rudest and naughtiest vampires in existence. (Well, apart from Lucy. He likes her.) Not even his uncle, Count Dracula, the oldest vampire in the world, can stop their pranks.
But when his cousins venture into the spooky Wildwood on a dangerous mission, Solomon reluctantly agrees to help Lucy rescue them. In the forest, Solomon must draw on all he knows – about old magic, wet wipes and the importance of a well-timed entrance – to save his catastrophic cousins and possibly the world.
A fang-tastic tale about loving your family, even when they drive you batty.
Solomon Macaroni is an absolute delight. I read it out loud to my nieces who were in fits of giggles over Uncle Dracula particularly, and loved the book-loving character of Lucy, but who adored the main character Solomon so much. Ashleigh Barton has created such an imaginative world for children to immerse themselves in. My nieces are six and five years old, so perfect to read to those age groups, or confident readers from 7+ years should be fine.
I can't resist a vampire story and this book was such a fun take on the lore. It had everything I love in a kids book from whacky inventions to a brilliant cast of characters - I would definitely give Uncle Dracula's Ice Creamalator a go; sounds both fun and tasty!
OMG, I am OBSESSED with this book!! 😱 Solomon Macaroni and the Cousin Catastrophe is EVERYTHING. Solomon is the sweetest vampire you’ll ever meet—he's polite and kind When his parents go on a 100-year cruise (lucky them, right?), Solomon has to stay with his six cousins and Uncle Dracula in Transylvania. But his cousins are total pranksters—except for Lucy, who’s awesome. 🧛♀️ The adventure kicks off when the cousins sneak into the spooky Wildwood, and it’s a rollercoaster of werewolves, witches, and wild magic. 🐺🌲✨ I loved watching Solomon find his courage and stand up to his mischievous cousins. This book is funny, heartwarming, and full of surprises. If you love quirky characters, magical adventures, and a dash of vampire charm, you NEED to read this! 🧛♂️💜
