When Sophie Cartwright comes home to Augathella, she doesn't get the welcome she expected. Her brother, Braden, has got his father act together, the new staff at Kilcoy Station are keeping things running, and Sophie, well, she feels . . . unwanted. As for her ex, Kent Mason, he and his attitude could go take a flying leap.
Kent Mason is cautious when Sophie comes home to Kilcoy Station. Maybe she'd finally grown up enough to make better life choices. He didn't have the time to worry about her anymore, and he wasn't prepared to be hurt again.
So how was it that they seemed to end up in each other's company more than ever?

Book three in the series and I was happy to be back at Augathella to see how everyone is getting along.
This book is a fairly short but very involving tale about a broken relationship from the past, with the possibility of a revival. Will Sophie and Kent be able to move beyond their misunderstandings and rekindle their love?
This is a fun series which features a different couple in each book but with the other important characters always in the surrounding story. The author designs the ending to be a hook for the sequel and it always works for me. I have the next book ready.
After Sophie Cartwright was removed from a serious situation by her brother Braden and ex, Kent Mason, Augathella was once again her home. Kilcoy Station, the family cattle station was where Braden and his three boys lived, and in the two years since his wife Julia had died, his loneliness was helped by the care of friends. But only six months prior, a nanny had arrived at Kilcoy and Callie and Braden had become close. The boys loved her and so did Sophie. But Sophie couldn't get past what Kent had done to her, and she knew it was one of the reasons she'd fled Augathella. Would Sophie stay at Kilcoy to help Braden, or would she flee once again?
Outback Escape-The Sister is the 3rd in The Augathella Girls series by Aussie author Annie Seaton, and I'm quite enjoying this quiet, gentle set of stories. I did predict what would happen close to the end, but the journey to the finish was enjoyable. Callie and Braden, along with the boys, are great characters - I'm looking forward to the next in the series. Recommended.
Another wonderful trip to Augathella, I am loving this series and I have been looking forward to this one having gotten to know Sophie in the previous two books and seeing Sophie find love and happiness was just the best, so many emotions in this one.
Sophie Cartwright has returned home to Augathella after escaping a bad relationship but she doesn’t want to talk about it and wants to move on as quick as she can seeing as the man that broke her heart two years before of course is still here, she is here to help her brother Braden out, and no matter how she wants to wipe Kent from her heart that is not easy.
Kent Mason was happy to fly his best mate Braden up north to rescue his sister Sophie and maybe he was hoping that Sophie and him could talk and he would finally discover why she dumped him two years before because no matter how hard he has tried he cannot get Sophie out of his heart, will they be able to talk and forgive?.
This story brings out emotions and truth that should have been worked out two years before but a tragedy made things worse back then, life is moving well for everyone else in Augathella and Sophie is struggling but when the truth comes out hearts open up as they should and there are lots of smiles from this reader. I would highly recommend this one if you are looking for a beautiful romance of second chances. I look forward to the next book in the series.
I'm nearly halfway through this simplistic yet charming series set in Queensland's Augathella. Enjoying my short trips to the district and meeting the locals.
This time, it's Sophie Cartwright's story to be told. We've already been introduced to this established character, being the younger sister of Kilcoy Station's owner, Braden. Sophie's recently returned to the area after escaping a nasty situation that's left her troubled.
There's some important decisions in store for Sophie. Unable to face moving back home permanently, she's been couch surfing and working at the local pub. There's plenty of reasons why Sophie isn't able to commit- the main one being Kent Mason, the man she let go two years ago. These two were high school sweethearts until they ultimately broke each other's hearts. But what if it was all a big misunderstanding? With Kent being her brother's mate, and Sophie now temporarily working for her brother, it's going to be hard to avoid one another!
Whilst this is predominantly all about Sophie and Kent, it was nice to catch up with familiar faces once more. There's another newcomer to meet properly next time, jilaroo Amelia. I'm already sensing that she's going to be a lot of fun!
A weak four stars. It’s the setting in the Outback that kept me interested, but as with the other books in this series, there’s not that much sense of place. About 90% of this book is just frustrating the reader that the two main characters won’t be honest with each other. And then, finally, a near-death experience snaps them out of it and they’re engaged to be married! Woohoo! Just as formulaic and rushed as the other books in the series. ;) The book probably deserves three stars for that and for several mistakes/typos. (“Shoot” vs. “chute”, for example.) But, it was a page-turner, mercifully short, and it introduced a golden retriever into the story.
I really enjoyed the third book in this series, although it's a short series the characters and the town are really easy to like and connect with.
This one was a tough one to read Kent and Sophie were clearly meant to be together and that was clear from the start. It's sad what spiteful people will do to get what they want however Jock Evans and his sister were two dispicabel human beeings. It was very emotional seeing Kent and Sophie overcome the issues they'd had. This one was my favourite so far.
Sophie and Kent were inseparable until Sophie believed the wrong person and left Kent high and dry as she moved on with someone else. When that relationship went horribly wrong, her brother and Kent went to bring her home. They tried to avoid each other but life kept throwing them together. Eventually the truth comes out and Sophie sees the error she has made but is it too late for them to rekindle their feelings for each other.
Enjoyed this book very much, love outback stories, great characters and hard working people, always busy with something on a cattle station, looking forward to next book in the series.
It only took a few lines to peak my interest in this beautiful, angsty love story. Annie Seat on us a fantastic story teller. Love the characters and the Australian Outback.
