Cruising Through Midlife (Cruising Through Midlife 1)

My name is Trixie Troublefield, and I see ghosts. It’s sort of a new thing, and it’s more than a problem.

While I was busy running around doing some last minute packing for my tropical anniversary cruise, my husband was busy bedding three other women—at the same time. So I did what any other sane person would do—I grabbed my suitcase and took to the high seas, alone.

Here’s the thing. I’ve never been on a plane or a cruise ship. I’ve never left the state of Maine. I’ve never been on my own. I’ve never seen ghosts before either, but that seems to be on the universe’s agenda for me, too.

I’ve got eighteen days to recalibrate, rethink my life, recharge, and eat all the food I can get my hands on. And I might look into a poltergeist pest control service while I’m at it.

Of course I’ll start a travel blog and log all of my adventures for the world to see. Why not rub all the fun I’m having in my cheating ex-husband’s face? I’ll call it Suddenly Single! What a Trip.

But no sooner do I step on board of that stately cruise ship than I stumble upon a body.

Midlife on the high seas is proving to be a real killer.

Mai Tai Murder Cruise (Cruising Through Midlife 2)

My name is Trixie Troublefield, and I see ghosts. It’s sort of a new thing, and it’s more than a problem.

I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is my travel blog Suddenly Single! What a trip. Has taken off like gangbusters and I’ve inadvertently become the queen for an entire tribe of newly divorced women.

And even better than that? Handsome Ransom Baxter, the head of vessel security, is throwing out more than a few signs that he’s interested in me.

The bad news? My ex has booked a cabin on the very same ship and not only is he determined to win me back—he’s determined to make me jealous with some leggy blonde.

It’s going to be eighteen long nights to paradise and back before I can evict my ex out of my life once again—but a killer has different plans.

Is it bad that I’m rooting for the killer?

Cruising for Trouble (Country Cottage Mysteries 23)

My name is Bizzy Baker, and I can read minds—not every mind, not every time but most of the time and believe me when I say it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

My friends and family are joining my husband and me on a cruise to the South Pacific—and so is a killer. Here’s hoping we come off that ship alive. One thing is for sure—one person won’t.

Enjoyed the middle age and older sleuths

I like where this went for the most part...

On the day they are supposed to start their anniversary cruise, Trixie finds her husband of 25 years in bed with another woman, while a couple of others are waiting in the wings. After confronting him, she decides to go on the cruise solo. While having her first vacation alone, she is lucky to meet two women who show her the ropes and provide her with the best advice and adventure. Bess and Nettie live on-board and take Trixie under their wings. When a murder is committed and Trixie finds herself the unwitting person lucky enough to see a ghost who tells her she needs to solve the murder, the real excitement begins. From here on out, she'll not only learn the ins and outs of life on a cruise ship, she'll find romance, make some new friends, see some beautiful places, and solve a few murders.

I loved Nettie and Bess. Different personalities but great friends. Older than Trixie but living their best life and more than willing to take her under their wings. My only downside is how much she is portrayed to eat. No woman can eat that much food at one sitting without getting sick!

Love this book!

So I'm posting this after I finished the first in a three book box set. So far, it is phenomenal, and I just know I will also love the other two books, which I will be starting momentarily. Every previous book I have read from this author has been great. The only issue I have (and it is a ME problem) is in chapter 10, Trixie mentions 72 trombones. The musical "The Music Man" it relates to is 76 trombones. That being said, Trixie's attitude and thought process is hilarious, and I can totally relate to her snark. The fact that she is midlife and not a young woman is helpful in that regard, too. I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Cruise to Paradise (Death)

All her books are amazing! However these are exceptional! The characters are quirky, wacky, handsome, hot, beautiful. Sassy, and real! The scenery and food is fantastic! Can’t wait to go on their cruise! Lots of murder and mayhem! Secrets and lies that add up to an unexpected surprise and an unfortunate death! Have no fear Trixie and a ghostly helper is on the case! Now if she could only choose which hot man will it be? The captain or the detective? Have to wait and see!

Loved this series, looking forward to reading more. Trixie comes home after a spa day, to find her husband of 25 years, entertaining 3 women in their bed. They were planning an anniversary cruise to celebrate, Trixie decides to go on her own. Trixie seems to find trouble, when she keeps finding dead bodies and solving their murders. It's a laugh out loud, fun story, great beach, travel book to read.

What a fantastic cruise...

These three books deserve 10 stars each. Stellar storytelling, believable and unbelievable characters, fabulous scenery, wild adventures, dead bodies and Chocolate Lava Cake! For anyone looking for a super fun read that you can't put down with all the charm of the tropics to escape to, I highly recommend them.

I just finished the 1st 3 book box set on Kindle, enjoyed it.
I purchased it as on my last cruise I took all 3 ten book sets of Patricia Fischer cruise ship mysteries which I really enjoyed ( perhaps due to being on a cruise.
I will purchase the next books in this series & perhaps save them for my next cruise for context.

Cruising Through Midlife 1-3

I enjoyed this cozy mystery series. I began it while on a cruise to Canada out of New York. It proved entertaining while I relaxed on my balcony or in bed. The ghost aspect was different and I appreciated that.

Okay, hear me out—this is the perfect cozy, quick read and palette cleanser you need between the heavy, dark stuff.

I honestly enjoyed these so much more than I expected!
