The author’s LinkedIn title: Elite Athlete APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist

This jumped out at me as I scrolled through the new audio releases on my numerous library accounts.

I’m by no way a gym user, nor do I use weights in any professional set up, but I was definitely interested.

I do like to run though, and have formed a habit with this, and I’m seeing results. This piqued my interest because of my newfound fitness, and I am still interested a couple of weeks after reading the book.

The author is highly qualified and states his degrees, Master in Sports Physio, his various work experience, and the types of athletes he has worked with at University of Melbourne. He teaches and is on his way to gaining his PhD.

The book is quick to the point, well described with what to expect/avoid/look out for. At the end of the audio book he converses, in his own words, how to carry out each exercise properly. This was not scripted and was very good. It felt like a personable conversation, very concise.

The model is to set aside three minutes of high intensity daily, or as close to, for 21 days. Set a visual diary somewhere obvious at home to always tick off, and to allow this become a habit. They are a choice of 6 HIIT workouts without the gym, using your own body weight and movement that provide very quick results.

I can’t see how I can’t not give this a go. But! I need to book to really have it in front of me!

Recommended, short and to the point. Quite like the training is menat to be, I imagine.

I listened to this on the BorrowBox platform at 1.5 speed.

Probably one of the best training programs I have seen. The 3:21 system is a 3 min high intensity workout of 6 body weight / gym free workouts, for 21 days (the time to lock in any habit).

Kusal has an incredible pedigree in the system and sports results that he has achieved so this is literally the best system for overall body health that I have seen.

HIIT has been super popular as it has a well rounded set of quick results.

It is written in a very concise and a highly information dense manner, while still being very simple to follow.

I read the full physical book in 24 minutes with about 20% skimming.

Really basic, aimed at athletes rather than everyday people.
The concept is interesting and the tips are useful but having this as a whole book seems unnecessary

The concept of the HIIT program is good. The writing could have been better though. I felt like I was reading an unedited draft as there were a few duplicated sentences and paragraphs, and small grammatical errors. Some basic editing could have made the content more concise too. The last section about living in the moment felt repetitive. None of the research studies that he referenced were named or cited. Could have been an online article instead of a book in my opinion. I will give the HIIT program a try though.

This seemed like a book to promote himself in the light of all the people he's worked with and witnessed great results so far. Whilst I thought the 6 exercises of 30sec to do in the 3-minute workouts were not ones I would normally choose if I only have 3 minutes, it definitely inspired me to go back to HIIT workouts of longer length of time for several of the listed benefits. And that's what I've taken from it - do some exercise every day, and try get that heart rate up whenever possible.

This was a great book. Lots of good advice and research. The structure of the book was a little boring but worth battling through. I feel this should be a book I read from time to time to improve my lifestyle
