Great Children's Book

Laurent tackles a difficult subject with her book. It teaches about personal space and private parts. It teaches a child that it is ok to say "no" or "stop" when they feel uncomfortable with various forms of body contact whether it be a hug or something else. Laurent does mention the medical terms for private parts. Some parents may not want their children to know those terms, but as a parent, I teach my kids the main terms for the same reason Laurent provides. I think it is important when your child is describing a touch so you know as a parent the appropriate path to take . A great book, and I recommend it.

Read this book to teach the importance of safe touch. I like this book, but I would also say that the few pages referencing bodily autonomy feel a little out of place. It also says that if you scan the QR code, you get lessons and activities that go with the book; I was unable to access those. The QR code never sent me anything.

The book teaches kids about respecting people's personal spaces and learning to say "no", as needed. It's important to teach kids to speak up when they feel uncomfortable, as well as respect the personal space of others.

Great book! Uses correct words for body parts. Kind of surprised when I saw that, but then pleasantly surprised!
