"A charming, book-centric whodunit." -Kirkus Reviews

Book lover Harley Henrickson follows a trail of murders linked to a rare first-edition printing of Jane Eyre.

It’s summertime in Notchey Creek, Tennessee, and Harley Henrickson is attending the Antiques and Blooms Festival. Antiques line the streets, flowers fill hanging baskets, and festivalgoers stand in line, waiting to appraise their treasures. Order turns to frenzied excitement when the town’s controversial new resident, Suzanne Clare, presents a rare first-edition printing of Jane Eyre. The book is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, a prize for which many would kill.

On the following morning, Suzanne Clare is found dead in her mansion, and the book is missing. To Sheriff Jed Turner, the woman’s murder appears to be a clear-cut case of burglary-homicide, but Harley is not so sure. Suzanne Clare had many skeletons in her closet, and many enemies among her neighbors. When Harley's friend Beau Arson is suspected in the woman's murder, she will stop at nothing to prove his innocence.

As bodies begin to accumulate and jealousy, passion, and revenge rear their evil heads, Harley discovers that Charlotte Brontë’s rare first edition is indeed a book of murder.

A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek is the 4th book in this series. Harley Henrickson is the main character who is a whiskey distiller and owner of the Henrikson Whiskey Distillery and Smokey Mountain Spirits store in Notcheiy Creek, Tennessee. The other characters add to this story. It is Memorial Day weekend with the festival. Harley is in line at a table that is doing book evaluations to see what her book is worth. The woman Infront of her is showing her first addition o Jane Eyre which is also signed. A mysterious woman pushes herself ahead in the line with her eye on the woman with the book. Jonathan Vermis gets very excited when he exams the book and tries to buy it at a low price. The woman says she will get another opinion and goes to The First Edition Book Store owned by Hunter Rowlandson. the book brings much excitement. Many people what to buy it. The woman with the book is Suzanne Clare who has just bought Stoneridge and is new to the town. . When she finds out that the book is worth millions she offers to sell it to Hunter and invites him to her house for dinner. When everyone interested in the book all leave from the back of the store. Shortly after everyone leaves Jane Merriman rushes into the store saying there is a dead woman in the dumpster It is the strange woman that was in line. She has a knife in her chest. She was in the book store earlier. Hunter is uncomfortable going to Stoneridge alone and asks Harley to come shortly after he arrives.

Before she goes to met Hunter she goes to see Beau Arson who is the last of the Sutcliffe family. He made his money in music as well as the family money. They are good friends since childhood. Harley tells Beau about Hunter and he says he might be interested in the book too and goes with her to Stoneridge. They go inside to the library and finds Hunter in a situation with Suzanne. Beau and Suzanne seem to know each other and there is a scene where Beaiu tells her to get out of his sight before he kills her. The next day Haley gets a phone call from Tina , the caterer, who went to pick up her things from the night before that Suzanne has been murdered. This is where the story takes the reader on an adventure of whodunit as well as two more murders that follow. The story is too complex to try to tell so I will leave it to the reader to find out all the background. Jed Turner is the sheriff and is also a good friend of Haley. The story builds up with an exciting ending of who killed the people and why.

Two weeks after the murderer confesses Harley goes to the cemetery to visit her families grave. She cries when she thinks about her mother.. Beau comes and sits down beside her and they sit together.

I look forward to the next in this series to see where Harley's life goes and what adventure is ahead of her and her friends.

This is the fourth book in a series by Liz S. Andrews featuring book lover and whiskey distiller, Harley Henrickson. In this instalment which is my second, Harley is at the Antiques and Blooms Festival where she is volunteering. Everything is ready for the event; the shop fronts are adorned with flowers in hanging baskets and cocktail samples are shimmering in the sun. The sweet iced tea is at the ready. The main item of interest is newcomer, Suzanne Clare's rare first edition copy of Jane Eyre. Then a dead Suzanne is found in her own mansion...

A charming, well-constructed cozy packed with quirky characters and red herrings aplenty that kept me guessing. As well as the helpful though awkward Harley, I adored the parts that included her rock star friend, Beau. For a highly amusing and wild time, grab your copy of A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Little Forest Press via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

Shared pasts. Shared memories. Shared secrets.

Superb mystery with many layers. The author's writing style flows, almost poetic at one moment, insanely tense at others, all while moving the story steadily forward. Her imagery is superb, capturing moments and sounds that vividly help us visualize the beauty of the setting and mood. I didn't write it down exactly, bad me, but one phrase introducing a tense encounter sorta encapsulated that ability as she describes crickets chiming out the "beleaguered seconds" like a metronome. In other words, I fully loved this book.

I won't detail the plot, which is easily found elsewhere, but simply say that it's far more complex that the cute cover might indicate. Harley has an amazing ability to remember and quote passages from books. She's well read and once had a scholarship to Harvard. Yet, she's known for her cocktail mixes, hence many underestimate her. Although this worked nicely as a stand-alone, I found myself wanting to know more about not just Harley's past but that of her rock star friend, Beau, who seems to share so many of her memories. She's also got a good friend in Jed, the sheriff, who in contrast to the more stereotypical police-v-amateur sleuth relationship, seem to work together well and trust each other. How refreshing.

As for the murder, it's complicated. On the surface, it begins simply enough with the death of an unknown woman. Then bodies start piling up. First, who is the unknown woman? Is there some connection between the deaths or is there a random killer at large? Wow, did you realize how much rare books are worth? How is a tatoo connected to the book "Jane Eyre"? What did Suzanne mean when she called "Jane Eyre" a little golden Easter egg? A maid mumbling literary verse? Why is the press hounding....oh, never mind. Enough teasers. Read the book. I don't think you'll regret it and, hey, Matilda the pig does get a couple scenes.

Thanks #NetGalley and #LittleForestPress for introducing me to the wonderful series. I'll be back! And, oh, those cocktail recipes sound wonderful.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Harley seems like a strong character, I'm going to enjoy getting to know her.
The twists and turns the author wove into the story kept me guessing, I wasn't sure who the killer was.
A book appraisal for a rare copy of Jane Eyre is the catalyst that sets off a roller coaster of events, which leaves Harley asking questions, and putting herself in danger.
I'm really looking forward to reading the previous books in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Notchey Creek Murder . . .

At the Antiques and Blooms Festival, Harley Henrickson sees a recent resident in town, Suzanne Clare, who brings a valuable rare first edition printing of Jane Eyre to be appraised. The book is worth an enormous amount of money, a temptation that someone might even kill for.

When Suzanne Clare is discovered dead in her mansion and the book cannot be located, Sheriff Jed Turner is looking at Harley's friend Beau Arson as his suspect in the case. Harley immediately begins her own investigation to prove that Beau is innocent of the crime. Can she find the real killer?

The fast pace, character development, and the mystery were excellent, the plot was well-written and suspenseful. Grab your copy and see whether you can identify the killer as Harley follows the clues!

I honestly did not think the author could maintain such a high level of beauty in her series, but she did it again and even surpassed herself. The characters are full of life and passion, the plot is easily followed and straightforward, step by interesting step, and the premise is finding out who killed the strange "homeless-looking" lady and why. More murders ensued and the answer to all the questions posed in the story were answered. One could not ask for a better ending. I most certainly highly recommend this book and the rest of the series.

I am not sure why I find this series so compelling, but I do. I thought there were only 4 books in the Notchey Creek Mystery Series and was delighted to find that A Book of Murder is not the last one. Liz S. Andrews does and excellent job of creating characters that touch my heart. I won't more of all the regulars and look forward to the next mystery as well. It is always characters first for me.

Harley Henrickson puts her investigative skills to the test again when a body is found at the annual Antiques and Blooms Festival. It seems that one of the newest residents of Notchey Creek, Suzanne Clare, recently acquired a rare book and came into town to have it appraised. She spoke with Jonathan Vermis, who tried to lowball her and buy it out from her. Regina Somerville was also appraising items and started salivating when she saw the one of a kind first edition Jane Eyre. After causing a stir with the appraisal and actually scheduling a date with Hunter Rowlandson to buy the book, a woman is found dead behind the bookstore and it is Harley who takes the lead to find out who she is. She recognizes the woman from the appraisals line where she seemed very intent on the appraisal of the rare book, however, neither she nor Jed, the sheriff, know her name. However, before they can get more information about her, a new morning dawns an additional murder as Suzanne is found dead. As Harley starts asking questions as an honorary deputy (temporarily of course) she starts uncovering a secret held for decades. All the while, more bodies are added to the list, narrowing down the possible suspect list.

This book is even crazier than the last and I love it! With all the twists and turns and almost steamy interludes, the author takes you on a great ride. Harley is just about one of my favorite characters to read about. She has a heart of gold and nerves of steel. She just needs to kick that self-confidence up and she would be knocking the silly boys away with a stick. Everyone is drawn to her because of her great personality and she is smart as hell, connecting dots all over the place. She is always in the right place at the right time and can knock down leads quick. Didn’t even need to go through police training to be steps ahead of the actual detective. These books are all written beautifully, the flow is perfect and the storyline is engaging. It never felt like there was irrelevant descriptions nor filler pagers to add to the length but not the quality. Each night I would read until I fell asleep, I just couldn’t put it down. This book is great for everyone who enjoys a good mystery who-done-it.

A Book Of Murder In Notchey Creek is an expertly written, exceptionally well structured, somewhat quaint mystery, set in a small American town. (It is somewhat quaint because the town where it takes place is a slice of pleasant, down -home Americana, but the murder that transpires and is investigated in it, is far from that.) The novel contains impressively, well developed three-dimensional characters and some surprising plot twists that are completely believable. Furthermore, the book has an intricate, wonderfully displayed atmospheric quality that readers cannot help but get caught up in. One can actually every nuance of the people and the town where it transpires in his or her bones. Moreover, the chapter of the book that features the appraisal of rare editions of books is extremely interesting. Finally, and arguably the book’s most superb quality, is its protagonist, Harley Hendrickson. She is a very endearing, decent young woman whose deep family roots within the community belie a keen intellect and a a gift for solving crimes. It is an absolute pleasure to follow her from the novel’s seemingly mundane beginnings, to the murder itself and lastly, to the reveal of its perpetrator.
There was not a single flaw that I could find in A Book Of Murder In Notchey Creek. It is as well constructed as anything by Agatha Christie or P.D. James, but with its own flavor. Initially, some readers may be thinking they are heading for a very saccharine story, but that is dispelled the moment the crime takes place. Everything about the novel shines. This is a rarity and is a testament to Ms.Andrews considerable talent.
So, if you love mysteries, than you’ll love A Book of Murder In Notchey Creek. If you love books set in small American towns, then you will certainly love it too. Or if you are one who appreciates storytelling at its finest, you should pick up this book. I sincerely doubt that you will be disappointed by it.

Lovable Harley Henrickson is back on the case again, this time following a trail of murders linked to a rare first-edition printing of Jane Eyre.

While having her book appraised at the Antiques and Blooms Festival, Harley Henrickson encounters the town's controversial new resident, Suzanne Clare, who presents a signed first edition printing of Jane Eyre for appraisal. Suzanne Clare is beautiful, wealthy, and sexy, with a checkered past and allure that make her an object of desire among the town's men and a source of contention among the town's women. And the only thing people want more than Suzanne Clare, it seems, is her priceless book. Some would even kill for it.

When Suzanne agrees to sell the book to handsome bookseller Hunter Rowlandson (with questionable strings attached) and not the others, things spiral out of control and lead to murder. The case becomes personal for Harley when she learns of her friend Beau Arson's connection to the case.

This was a non-stop mystery ride filled with tons of clues, intrigue, and interesting characters that kept me guessing until the very end. If you are a book lover, you will also enjoy the references to antique book collecting and classic literature that are relevant to the case. Again, we see Harley Henrickson grow both intellectually and personally, assisting childhood friend and sheriff Jed Turner in solving the case, while exploring her romantic feelings for medical examiner Eric Winston, and learning more about rockstar friend Beau Arson's tragic past.

Did I mention Harley and Beau have great chemistry? There are more romantic components in this instalment than in the previous books, but it is well done and a natural progression of Harley's character development and awakening.

Great read!

After finishing Liz S. Andrews, 3rd book in the Notchey series, I immediately sought out this book by Liz S. Andrews, Book of Murder in Notchey Creek (Harley Henrickson Cozy Mystery Series Book 4), is the perfect mix of charm small town, larger than life characters, quark, mystery, and good writing. I am so glad this book is part of a series so I can go back and read the others.

Andrews has created the quintessential small town in Notchey Creek. A cozy sense of charm and community accentuate the nutty and bizarre aspects of its towns people. All of the characters, and there are quite a few, are extremely well written, realistic, and multifaceted. I found myself connecting in different ways to each one. But Harley is the true shining star of this book. She is a pet pig toting, whiskey distiller, who also helps out at the bakery, and has the support (and some times “interference") of a really close group of friends and family. She is upbeat, so likable, smart, full of spunk, and determined to get to the bottom of the mysterious circumstances plaguing Notchey Creek and its people. This time it involves murder and first edition of Jane Eyre.

The actually mystery is full of unexpected twists and turns, so many things to throw you off course, and great writing that kept me turning the pages. It is the kind of book you try to read slowly and drag out the chapters the closer you get to the end because it is just that good and you don’t want it to be over. I didn’t figure out the ending and was super impressed at how it all came together. Also, I love the whiskey cocktail recipes in the book and will be trying them soon. I give this 5 out of 5. And I am off to find the first two books in this series.

I have read one other book in Liz Andrews series of novels, and each is great read. This series is what I call the perfect “fun read”. An easy, yet fun and engaging read. They can easily be read as stand-alone books or as part of a series. A Book of Murder in Notchy Creek is about 26-year-old whiskey distiller Harley Henrickson. Her other and most interesting job is helping the town Sheriff solve crime. This particular crime is the murder of the new town resident who is in possession of a copy of a first edition printing of Jane Eyre which is worth A LOT of money. Harley also happens to be an avid reader and book lover as well.

She and the Sheriff discover much more than they ever bargained for in this town where everyone knows everyone else, and events are remembered for 50+ years. I live in a town like this, so they do exist. I love Harley Henrickson! She had a rough childhood but worked—and is still working—to overcome it. She didn’t let it stop her from following her dreams or become bitter. I enjoy the strong relationships that she has built. I somehow always thought that she and the Sheriff would become a couple, but I understand perfectly now why that didn’t happen. The Sheriff relies on her for help but sometimes begrudgingly so—typical behavior for some men. I won’t spoil anything else!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was a great escape from real life. The first few chapters were kind of slow, but after that I couldn’t put it down! Highly recommended.

“A Book Of Murder in Notchey Creek”, written by Liz S Andrews, is a fun mystery book featuring a lively cast headed up by Harley Henrickson and her adorable 300-pound pet pig Matilda. The whole thing begins when Harley leaves her whiskey shop to join the festival in her town, Notchey Creek. She plans to go to the book appraisal booth and have her beloved copy of “Great Expectations” appraised. When she joins the line she has a strange interaction with an odd woman, and then witnesses an even stranger interaction between the appraisers and a new woman in town, whom she later finds out is called Suzanne Clare.
Clare, it seems, is in possession of a rare signed copy of Charlotte Brönte’s “Jane Eyre”. The odd woman in line with Harley seems to be fixated on Clare, and the appraisers are behaving oddly in their interactions with Clare. This sets Harleys inner detective to work. The mystery begins with “Who is Suzanne Clare?” And continues with “How did she come into possession of this rare book?” And when the strange woman from the book line ends up dead outside the bookstore that Suzanne Clare and the dueling appraisers were just in, the mystery really gets it’s sealegs.
With a colorful cast of characters and one determined young woman, this book moves fast and is entertaining while still providing the reader with enough clues to guess at the mystery alongside Harley (& Matilda)!

I found "A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek" incredibly fun and easy to read and follow despite not having read the other books in the series. It’s one of those books that once you start reading, you don’t ever want to put down.

A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek is chockfull of mystery, suspense, love twists, and everything you want in an investigative book. The author’s writing style is simple enough that anyone can easily follow the plot, but there is also a depth to how she writes that will catch anyone’s attention. The plot is rich with twists and turns that I never saw coming. I really love it when I can’t anticipate what the writer’s next move is, and simply got blown away a few times by the unexpected turns that Liz S. Andrews threw into the works.

You will certainly enjoy reading this book if you enjoy a good investigative story, but also one that doesn’t conform to the tired investigative prose where you can tell from a mile away how the story will go. As a bonus, the investigator is a strong female character. Her strengths as a woman shine through in her pursuit of the killer in the small town. You can easily tell that the author took time to develop the characters as they all play their parts in ways that push the story forward without any one overshadowing the other. Overall, this is one of those books I could easily reread in the near future, and most likely will!

This book is a classic “who-dun-it” mystery with a long list of characters and potential suspects. The author has done a wonderful job of character development, describing every person until you feel like you personally know them.
The main character, Harley, is the only person who recognized the first murder victim. She had seen her while waiting in line to get a book appraisal. She felt that something was “off” about the woman. She was in the line, yet she had no book to be appraised. She was staring oddly at another woman who was there who happened to have an extremely valuable book. Harley felt that the murder must have something to do with this book.
Then, the woman who owned the valuable book (or so everyone thought in the beginning) was killed, letting everyone know that these events must somehow be connected. The rest of the book is a series of more murders, clues, twists and turns, and romance as the characters try to get to the bottom of the mystery and find the missing book. Characters' pasts are revealed and the puzzle is slowly put together. The ending was truly unexpected and the story carefully woven by the author.
I thoroughly enjoyed the journey to the conclusion of the book and if you like mysteries I definitely recommend this book! It is an exciting story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and keep your brain actively working to figure things out the whole way.

A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek, by Liz Andrews is a great new mystery novel that should please most fans of the genre as well as casual readers. The colorful and light cover page is an amusing contrast to the more serious subject contained in the book and grabbed my attention before even opening it. This book is part of a series and picks up where the others left off and continues the series in a fine fashion and keeps readers hoping for more fine additions to the saga of Harley Henrickson. I think that this book compares favorably with mystery novels written by more well known authors and I think that the style of Ms. Andrews surpasses them in many ways. I hope the author decides to write more books in addition to this series because I enjoyed them all and typically find that most books written by the same author are pretty consistent in terms of quality. This book answers some of the questions and mysteries from previous books in the series and at the same time adds some exciting twists and turns to the ongoing plot. I read this book very quickly which is typically a good indicator that I enjoyed reading it and had difficulty focusing my attention on other things until it was finished. The pace of the book is fast but not to the point of jumbling together different elements of the story which is irritating. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun book to start the summer.

I enjoyed this book to the fullest. Putting a character list in the beginning was an amazing idea that I feel more authors should consider doing. It helps when reading for us to get a deeper sense of who people are and to follow along with the story without trying to figure out who the person is.

I've read another book in this series which is why I was happy to get this one and need the rest. The author delivered another interesting and fun book. Characters come to life and allow you to feel as if you really know them and you are able to create your thoughts on each of them. I was wondering who was Suzanne really? Was she actually trouble and came to stir up problems for the town? Was she really a sweet woman who was misunderstood? I had many suspicions on who was a part of everything and you will root for one while blaming another. I realized the plot was much deeper than it seemed. The chapter "Stolen" was my favorite section because it was some vivid information in there and it was very real to me, even a little emotional parts. There was no dull moments and this was a book that's hard to put down.

I highly recommend this. It was an affordable price with a great story. If you enjoy a mystery or even a book that the author took time and put out something for readers to truly enjoy, you will love this book.

Jumping into the fourth book in a series, I thoroughly enjoyed A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek. The recap of characters in the beginning and complete storyline, helped catch me up to speed with the setting and who's who in the group of stories. This one follows Harley as she snoops her way through town after a murder, finding some clues and often digging up more questions about the events as they unfold around her. I really enjoyed the layers that peeled away as the mystery unfolded. Liz S Andrews wrote a beautifully unpredictable multi-murder mystery. Sometimes books in this category are easy to decode and as a reader, and I'll guess the twist or murderer early on in the novel. With this book, I honestly had no ideas and some guesses that were proved wrong, which made the book even more fun to read. The town descriptions remind me of a Hallmark movie- beautiful and fatefully connected...but with a murderous twist. The pacing is just right, and there is never a dull moment. While there are hints at romance, it is not a central player in this story. The Sherlock Holmes style investigation is front and center. If you are someone who enjoys discovering secrets and being totally surprised, this is the book for you. As a bonus, there are even recipes of mixed drinks featured in the story at the back of the book.

This is the 4th one in the series. It was a fun mystery with wonderful characters.
It’s almost summer in Notchey Creek, Tennessee, and Harley Henrickson is attending the Antiques and Blooms Festival.
When Harley's friend rockstar Beau Arson is suspected in the woman's murder, she will stop at nothing to prove his innocence.
As bodies begin to accumulate and jealousy, passion, and revenge rear their evil heads, Harley discovers that Charlotte Brontë’s rare first edition is indeed a book of murder.
Overall a great read however I would read them in order.

This is book #4 in the Harley Henrickson Mystery series, but it is not necessary to read the previous books to feel right at home in Notchey Creek. The action starts at the antique appraisers’ tables that are part of the town’s Antiques and Blooms Festival. When a new resident, Suzanne Crane, brings a first-edition printing of Jane Eyre, mayhem ensues as competing book lovers struggle for a chance to purchase the rare book. By the next morning, Suzanne is dead, Jane Eyre (the book) is missing, and Harley’s friend (and celebrity rock star) Beau Arson, is a possible murder suspect.

This is my first encounter with Harley Henrickson and the various citizens of Notchey Creek. I plan to read more in this series as the characters and the plot left me wanting to learn more about Harley and Notchey Creek. In this book the reader learns more about the friendship between Harley and Beau, along with various events in Beau’s life. There are several suspects, along with two additional murders, that lead to an unexpected ending. I was totally surprised when the murderer was revealed. I had a great time reading about Harley and Notchey Creek.

Thanks to Net Galley and Little Forest Press for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek is book #4 in the Harley Henrickson Mystery series by Liz S. Andrews. This is my first book I have read in the series. This is a delightful cozy series with great charcters and a well crafted sleuth. Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity. My review opinions are my own. I liked the characters and Hayley the protagnist , Beau the rock star friend and Matilda the pig are all great additions to this series.

The setting of early summer in a small town in Tennessee is beautifully atmospheric and enjoyable. As the town prepares for a antique fair a local woman of esteem and a checkered past has a valuable copy of Jane Eyre to sell. She makes a deal with a less than honest antique book vender who convinces her to sell to him. Soon secret emerge and dealings with nefarious types who want access to the book . The mystery that builds is so well done I found myself enthralled turning pages to conclusion. A very enjoyable read, a well crafted fun sleuth and great charcters. Well done to the author.

Although this is the 4th book in this series, this was the first book for me and I was hooked from the page one! This book has a good plot, was fast paced, and kept me in suspense til the end. Newcomer Suzanne Maire has a rare first edition copy of Jane Eyre appraised at the Antiques and Blooms festival in Notchey Creek, Tennessee.. She finds out its worth thousands and she wants to sell for top dollar. Several book collectors are hot on her heels to buy this book. The next morning Susanne is found murdered in her mansion and the book is missing. When Rock Star Beau Arson becomes a suspect, book lover Harley Henrickson pulls out all the stops to prove her friends innocence. Two more murders follow and Harley feels they are all somehow linked to the book and something that happened in the past. I read this in one sitting. A nice whodunnit. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the advance copy.

This was the perfect cozy mystery and I am now wanting to read the entire series! Harley Henrickson is a modern day, southern, Nancy Drew and I am here for it. I loved her character development and the spark between her and Beau.

As a book lover, I especially enjoyed the references to first edition books and some of the history behind them. It was a great addition to the plot and the revealed meaning of the significance of the books was a mystery right until the very end.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book! It was such a comforting read with a pinch of adventure, a splash of romance and the small town story I was hoping for! And the drink recipes are a fun add on too!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A Book of Murder in Notchey Creek is book #4 in the Harley Henrickson Mystery series by Liz S. Andrews.

Harley Henrickson plans to have a book appraised at the Antiques and Blooms Festival. Someone has a first-edition printing of Jane Eyre and several people want to buy it and someone will kill for it.

I had a theory early on and was absolutely off-base. I really like the relationships between Harley and Beau and Harley and Jed. The descriptions of the scenery and homes make you feel like you’re there. A mystery around a priceless book was interesting and I was surprised by several of the twists. I couldn’t put it down.

At an annual festival, a woman brings a first edition of Jane Eyre to be appraised. It seems the book is quite the hot commodity among the buyers. While looking into two deaths that seem to be related to the book, Harley and Jed find it’s more complicated than just the value of the book. Secrets keep coming out and bodies keep piling up. Can they solve the case before they join the body count?

If you love cozies with small town settings, this is the one for you. I’ve not read this series before and simply fell in love. While this is the fourth book in the series, I had no trouble reading it and following along, so it works well as a standalone if you’re just discovering the series as well.

This is a new author to me and an excellent one. A story of books and !murder. I liked the characters Hayley who mixes a mean cocktail, Beau the rock star, Matilda the pig. The story revolves around a valuable first edition of Jane Eyre who's owners keep turning up dead. The writing is entertaining, the mystery excellent and the killer unexpected. A classic whodunit with some great touches. It can be read as a standalone but reading the previous books would help greatly with the backstory.

sometimes love takes a wrong turn - a step towards obsession, a drive for possession, and what should be a joy turns into pains.

An antique fair reveals several betrayals and misdirections. Some might be easily rectified, others impossible.

Can an insightful sleuth and her strong insights and strong heart set some things aright? will some hearts be mended as others are shattered, and others stop beating all together?

intense drama filled mysteries, whodunnit and action.

This is the first of the Harley Henrickson mysteries I have read. Notchey Creek is an interesting town. Harley has an interesting backstory and seems very smart.
I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery centered around books. The descriptions of the town and surrounding areas were well done. I feel like I could have been there.
I did not suspect the killer. The story was put together well. I liked the experience of reading it.
