World of Chains #4

The Court Bard

Rate this book
Go to the big city. Hang out with the bigwigs. Have fun.

That was the plan, right? Right! Except, our hero was supposed to be the guest of honor and the mob was not supposed to be invited.

Daniel was running out of places to lay low, however. Something needed to be done, or he’d be caught in the ever-tightening net of his pursuers.

Good thing the capital was right there, beckoning with a promising and permanent solution to his predicaments. Now, things would start looking up. The place surely wasn’t called the Cradle of Hope for nothing.

It is such a pleasure to listen to a Soundbooth Theater Production, especially when it melds so smoothly together with the book that they're doing. And, World of Chains by Lars Machműller is perfect as he sets the perfect pitch. It's almost like it was written just them 🤔 I wonder.
Although, at times I found that Lars story was so complex, I actually lost the thread of the story ARC, confused about who was double dealing this, and backstabbing that. But our intrepid heroes came out on top so it turned out OK. Atlas our beast chameleon was amazing as ever and he cleanes up well. 😆 He even helped cheat at a game of cards. Wanna know how? Grab the audiobook because you won't want to miss a single note played...

Here's a couple of quotes that I found amusing. And who else, other than Lars could add burgeoning and schadenfreude in the same sentence?

"...my thoughts were chaotic milling about, they kept returning with one recurring detail how the capital of this city despite all seemed to be living up to it's name, because as I walked, the one emotion burgeoning within me was Hope, and schadenfreude."

"Afterwards it had been like dropping a cart full of mentos into a swimming pool of soda, the explosion was immediate and completely out of control."

So Soundbooth Theater Productions 5⭐'s
And Lars Machműller 3½⭐'s

You know when you have to wait or someone leaves

A person, a book or the characters within, you know its good when you reach the end and await the next one. Need some time to practice meditation on a tall mountain to calm the impatience of reading the next part of the story. I am looking forward to see what this poor hapless fool will do, potentially an accidental hero, we will have to see. The way I see it is as much like people they’re are either something we can do without or not live without.

Yes I could live without these books but I want to join in the journey of Archie. While I also contemplate whether A.I. Will have souls and spirit, will they tap in to the quantum field of reality opening doorways to other worlds or creating them - often I wonder if that is where these books will end up that the people in the immersive Vr are real instead of part of an AI algorithm. Meanwhile I await your next book. Gives Lars my best Head master glare, if I was a headmaster or a judge :p I am sure Arack would back me up her just for kicks.

I really loved this addition to the series! It's still got all the elements from the first 3 books. The story's very well-written, witty, exciting, and funny. I enjoyed it from start to end. I can't wait what's going to happen next.

Again, the narration and production were just simply amazing!

Solid book, and I was happy they finally got to the real world issues which had the MC flee to World of Chains. It didn't really come to a conclusion, but it seems like it's put to the backburner for now, with the author able to come back to it whenever he wants.
