FIRST BOOK IN A NEW SERIES BY INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR KELLY MORAN!

Wallflower Rosemary Fillmore has never endeavored anything more than a good book, a cool glass of sweet tea, and a cat to curl up in her lap after a long day of teaching teenagers how to dissect literary masterpieces. Dowdy and shy, hardly anyone in her quaint southern town of Vallantine, Georgia, knows she exists, and the only time she has an ounce of confidence is if the world is a fictional one. So, when three of her star students suddenly start to show an interest in her personal life, or lack thereof, she wonders what on earth the girls are after. Or why. And how it involves a certain town librarian. Because she hasn’t exactly agreed with how he’s been running the beautiful landmark into the ground since taking over, and frankly, she’s been more than a little upset about it. Besides, he is probably the sole person more awkward than herself, despite how kind or understatedly handsome he may be.

As the only living descendant of the original town founders, saving the Vallantine Library from destitution falls on Sheldon Brown’s shoulders. And he’s failing. Miserably. The one-hundred and forty-year-old historical building, erected by his ancestors, has been in near ruins for a decade, and the state of the library system is declining. What he doesn’t need adding to his burden is giggling teenage girls hanging out between the stacks, spying on him, and asking silly questions about their teacher. Even if the woman in question is Rosemary. Pretty, sweet, and utterly endearing Rosemary, who he’s been attempting to ask on a date since forever. Except he’s chronically gotten the impression she doesn’t approve of him or his attempts to save the library. But then a mishap one night and a strange challenge from an unlikely source changes everything, and he wonders if perhaps two introverted bookworms can get a happy ending, after all.

A Thousand Moments is a short novella that started in a fabolous way a new romantic series written by Kelly Moran.

Few chapters are all we need to pique the curiosity about the Bookish Belles, three friends who love reading and books, who gain an historical library thanks to a successful match making plan.

Dorothy, Scarlett and Rebecca were only teens when they decided to help their teacher, Miss Rosemary, and the town librariam, Mr Sheldon, to fall in love and to find their happily ever after.

Rosmary and Sheldon story is really sweet and lovely. They are both introverts and shy. They are perfect for each other but they definitely needed some pushing to spark a conversation and the results are even better than they expected.

I can't wait to go back to the small town of Vallantine and enjoy some new easy and delightful novels.

This book has me so excited for the rest of the series! It was sweet, and sexy, and funny, with some characters I absolutely cannot wait to deep dive into.

Most of this novella is backstory of a centurion library in a small Southern town. Three teenage girls play matchmaker for a teacher and the librarian, and sparks fly. The chemistry between Rosemary and Sheldon was immediately strong, and I loved them together. Both a bit awkward, but Rosemary was straightforward and sweetly supportive, making Sheldon able to relax.

Each of the girls, Savannah, Dorothy and Rebecca had distinct personalities of their own, and I look forward to, I assume, read about them finding their own matches while working on the Vallantine library.

This is book one in A Heart of Vallantine Novella series and it is Rosemary and Sheldon's story and what a great start to a new series. This might be a short story but it is a beautiful one that I absolutely loved and I couldn't put it down as it was a real page turner. Rosemary is a teacher and she is also shy, quiet and loves a good book. Sheldon is trying to keep the town library from falling apart as it is a important part of The Vallantine history but it is hard going but he will keep trying. Rosemary and Sheldon are perfect for each other so three of her student's decided to play matchmaker to get the couple together but will it work out, well you will just have to read this book to see what happens and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

This book was so sweet. I loved how the Bookish Belles took it upon themselves to help their teacher. And it worked out well. I loved all of the characters in this book. It was so sweet to see Rosemary and Sheldon come out of their shells and fall in love. With help from the Bookish Belles and a family member from Sheldon's past they find true love.

A sweet, funny, endearing, loving, and romantic read.

I really enjoyed reading this novella. It moves along at a pace which works perfect for the flow of the story. Once you start you cant put it down until the last page is read. You will love these characters and you want to be there for them no matter what happens. This book needs to be read, there is no doubt about it.

A short and sweet novella to kick off a new series of books by Kelly Moran. This book is set in 2004 and shows three teens playing matchmaker for their favorite teacher and the town librarian. Both Rosemary and Sheldon being very shy, the teens interference gives them the push they need to act on their attraction.

Excited to read the series, which I’m guessing will follow the teens in the present day.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for it to come out on June 7, 2022!

This novella is a great introduction to a new series. Set in Vallantine, a small charming southern town, the story centers on 3 women who were friends pretty much the day they were born, but now grown, are gifted a library. The Bookish Belles, as they are known had a hand in fixing up the library’s current owners, Sheldon Vallantine and Rosemary Fillmore.

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series!

Thanks to the, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Quick question... if this story sets in 2004 (almost 20 years ago) doesn't it count as historical? 😆

Anyway, I thought this was a sweet novella, that acts as a prequel to what I believe will be a trilogy series featuring three different women, the Bookish Belles. This prequel takes readers back to 2004 where Rosemary Fillmore starts her relationship with Sheldon Brown, the owner of Vallantine private library, which was built by Sheldon's ancestor.

I loved that the romance felt mature. I mean, there was one moment in which Sheldon felt overwhelmed with town's people helping him with the library, that he thought Rosemary sort of "took over" everything (and Sheldon was struggling with his pride) but he said it to Rosemary (without being annoying about it, because Sheldon is really such a good man!) and she accepts it and make compromises with him. I adored that!

But because this is only a novella, it also feels rather fast and stops before the "end of the line". It's only an introduction...

Having said so, I'd love to read about the Vallantine novels. I enjoyed Moran's books before, so I look forward to it.

1 Stern heißt "I did not like it", 3 Sterne heißt "liked it", aber ich muss mich wirklich da auf 2 Sterne beziehen. "It was okay". Stern Geschichte in meinen Augen gewesen.

This a cute novella is setting up a new series by the author but I must be in a critical mood because parts didn’t work for me. The premise is three young teens do a make-up, hair, nails, and clothing make over on their favorite teacher, Rosemary Fillmore, who some consider dowdy. I find this irritatingly superficial but for the sake of the story I’ll go with it because the romantic interest already thought she was beautiful. The girls match her up with the librarian Sheldon Brown. For some reason the town’s library is private, originally owned by the town founders and passed to their descendant. The library is run down because it is private is not eligible to get grants or tax revenue. Once Rosemary gets past Sheldon’s social grumpiness she finds way to help the library and instant attraction sparks.

I assume the series will follow the three teens, now adults as Rosemary and Sheldon give the library to them. I think the library gift could have been more effective at the end of the story instead of in the first chapter. The paranormal moment didn’t have meaning to me because we didn’t get to learn what is in the journal or why it is relevant. There is no mention of how Sheldon supports himself or the library other than minimal donations. He pays for upkeep out of pocket, but from what? He doesn’t charge to use the library, not even fines. Another thing that took me out of the story. The author gives a fairly precise location for her fictional town in Georgia saying it is along the river between Statesboro and Savannah. I’ve lived in Georgia and have often traveled on interstate 16 between Statesboro and Savannah. Later on a character says it's an hour to Savannah or almost two to Statesboro. The two towns are only an hour apart. There was no reason in the story to be more specific than a southern Georgia town. But if you do give a location, be consistent and accurate. Lastly I was disappointed not to know what happens to the couple. Other than their gift to their matchmakers and their leaving town years later you don’t know what happens to them as a couple.

The author can write. I liked the conversations between the MCs and their first kiss is sweet. But so many things in the story didn’t make sense or caused me to come out of the story because it created more questions than answers. I found it frustrating. I hope the new series is better than the prequel that is setting it up. Thank you to NetGalley and Kelly Moran for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars. This is a sweet small-town romance about two unassuming residents, a teacher and librarian, who have always known of each other but have never really gotten to know each other. Nudged together by some mischievous students, they find that happiness may have been closer than they imagined.

I liked that the MCs were mature adults who could communicate openly and directly and who were willing to acknowledge their own foibles and work through issues. It was easy to root for their happiness. The author has a very clear sense of place and a vivid world built, but can sometimes veer into overindulgence when describing people and things (I'm not sure I needed detail on what the waiter was wearing!). Still, this is a charming, PG-rated pick-me-up that has a good heart.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Gab's da noch was? Ach ja. Sheldon. Fazit: Braucht kein Mensch. Nicht mal zur Weihnachtszeit.

I had such fun with the novella, A Thousand Moments which introduces us to The Heart of Vallantine series. Rosemary and Sheldon might have a quick storyline to get us started on this series, but it packs a powerful emotional punch without a doubt.

Two unlikely candidates to fall for each other are the quiet, bookish, wallflower Rosemary and the awkward town librarian (and owner of the falling down library building) Sheldon. She’s convinced her future involves books and cats, he would love to ask Rosemary out but his clumsy ways seem to only annoy her. Plus, Rosemary isn’t exactly a fan of how Sheldon’s let the library crumble around him. While this couple might know each other on the surface, the fact is that they’ve not tried to get a bit below the top layer of their personality to the real people hidden inside. They’ll both be a bit surprised… eventually.

I adored Dorothy, Scarlett, and Rebecca aka The Bookish Belles. Even as teens these girls could see that Sheldon and Rosemary were perfect for each other. So, they set out to do a little matchmaking, a dramatic make-over and sat back to watch the sparks begin.

This couple has a fun romance ahead of them, well, once they get over their shyness and preconceived ideas about each other that is. One storm will change so much… and I’ll let you find out what happens next on your own. I have loved Ms. Moran’s paranormal romances and I was very glad to find just a touch included in A Thousand Moments, just the right touch in fact. The groundwork is being laid to continue this series (I always enjoy knowing what came before), and now the wait for the next release in The Heart of Vallantine series. If you love a good, solid romance with a touch of whimsy, laughter, awkwardness, and two people finding their perfect match then you’d enjoy Rosemary’s and Sheldon’s story.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own – good, bad, or indifferent. I was not financially compensated for this review and no expectation of a positive review was promised.*

Will they be successful? I though that they had a good chance. The town of Vallantine makes a romantic setting for this sweet romance. Sheldon Brown is a perfect match for Rosemary. I wished he wasn't so hesitant but I know how he's struggling with all his responsibilities. I loved their sweet and touching courtship. They even had the helpful presence of the gentle spirit, Katherine Vallantine. I loved the HEA. This novella is the perfect introduction to The Heart of Vallantine series. This is a very easy to read short story which is setting everything up for a new series which I will definitely looking out for.
All set around a library which, for obvious reasons I loved.
I presume the series will feature more on the bookish belles, which is good as we didn't get to know those too well in this novella.
Great read, and can't wait for the rest of the series

This novella is a quick read. It sets up a new series but also has a romance of its own.

The story did a nice job balancing seeing Rosemary and Sheldon finding love and meeting the three best friends who help them along the way.

Kelly Moran can write small-town romance really well. I loved her Redwood Ridge series and this reminded me of it in the best ways. A cute town with interesting townsfolk and no shortage of romance.

I flew through this sweet, fun story and now I Am looking forward to more in this series!

This novella introduces us to what I can already tell is going to be a great series. This was a beautiful set up to kick off the series, but also the background to an important part of this small town. We are introduced to the legend of Miss Katherine. This is a southern romance and we get a little taste of it. I loved getting Rosemary and Sheldon's matchmaking start. I thought was cute and adorable. I really can't wait for more from this series! I already can tell this small town is going to steal my heart.

Rosemary and Sheldon start off this new series along with a trio of girls called The Bookish Bellas. It's a fun quick read to learn of how the Bella's fixed the two of them up. There were some unanswered questions which I am sure will be revealed as the series continues.

This is such a sweet story and the writing style was so engaging that I was willing to keep reading despite spelling errors (e.g., dissent instead of descent, nineth instead of ninth) and a few formatting issues. The characters are absolutely endearing and the whole thing has a very positive feel-good vibe. I was a little surprised by the few instances of swearing, and the steaminess of the kissing, but these weren't off putting enough for me to stop reading. I loved the role of the library and the "old soul" attitudes of the hero and heroine, as well as the matchmaking girls who grow up to inherit the library. This was a fun, quick read and would be great for the beach.

𝗔 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 is an introductory novella to Kelly Moran’s new series - 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 and has me incredibly excited to see what’s coming out next!

In this book we meet the Bookish Belles, Dorothy, Scarlett and Rebecca - three childhood friends that have weathered every storm together since the womb. In their early teens they decide to play matchmaker for their favorite teacher, Rosemary and the town librarian, Sheldon. We watch Rosemary and Sheldon fall in love and this is what then sets in motion what will then be future books in the series (I’m assuming/I hope).

I really enjoyed this book and fell in love with the Belles and the picturesque town of Vallantine. I can’t wait to lose myself in this series! I’m giving 𝗔 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
