Kathryn Ross is a professional beauty therapist, but writing is her first love. At thirteen she was editor of her school magazine and wrote a play for a competition, and won. Ten years later she was accepted by Mills & Boon, who were the only publishers she ever approached with her work. Kathryn lives in Lancashire, is married and has inherited two delightful stepsons. She has written over twenty novels now and is still as much in love with writing as ever and never plans to stop.
She invites her former boyfriend to stay the night in the H’s house without asking the H for permission. Who on earth does that. And then she was sulking because the H was angry and in her opinion she had done nothing wrong.
At the age of 18, Belle had fallen heavily in love with Brady and, humiliatingly, been rejected. Now eight years later, she was older, wiser and had no intention of allowing His Arrogance to run her life. She had a very nice boyfriend in Paris and, of course, Brady had his usual harem of admirers in tow, so he could go his way and she would go in the opposite direction. Besides, he must be guilty of stealing her father's company's ideas and she couldn't love a thief - but was he, and did she...? (less)
That was unexpectedly such a good book. The relationship was very well developed despite they both kept the same secret. I was reluctant at first since i thought that it was a "lame" story and we all know who the culprit would be but i was surprised that it wasn't so. Did i say that i was heart-wrenching?Because it was! Despite some minor errors in the book, i really enjoyed this one.
Heroine was rejected by the hero when she was 18 and has smarted from it ever since. They are thrown in proximty again five years later after the heroine's dad has a heart attack and she is representing him at the company board meeting. Hero is chairman and he makes his interest known in the heroine.
Heroine is full of complicated feelings. She still has a crush on him, but she doesn't trust him. It doesn't help that there is a corporate spy selling their perfume secrets and hero is a suspect in her mind.
There is a travelogue of the South of France (very nice) and a lot of boardroom talk (very boring), so there isn't a lot of room for romance. Throw in an OM, two OWs and the scenes with a faithful servant and the H/h romance seems short-changed.
