This is book four of the Wolf Hunted series and whilst Janie (Juno) thought she could finally relax a bit after her father’s scouts were killed, she went out with Darby, Hunter’s sister for a night out. She tried dancing and kissing another wolf shifter, but he easily realised that she was still in love with another. When she left alone that night, another clan’s wolves were waiting for her and had already taken down Hunter, an alpha, who had been trying to keep a bit of an eye on her. They injected her with a poison, as they had Hunter, so neither could call on their inner wolves to help them. The Unda water wolves have taken Janie and take her back to their alpha, as they were ordered to. He has her all alone and tied to a post near the middle of the clan’s village, without food or water, making her even weaker. The alpha wants to know why her father wants her back and what is so special about her.
This Unda alpha has his own plans for her and if her bloodwork shows what he expects, then he will use her for breeding and keep her a captive for the rest of her natural life. She will be used and abused and not just put to death like her former alpha would have her. All she can do is dream of Hunter, the alpha she has realised she wants and is actually in love with. His pack have always been kind to her and treated her as one of theirs. She needs to gather her strength, which is difficult without food or water, and hope her wolf can come out eventually. She needs to wait for Hunter to hopefully find her and rescue her from this situation, if her wolf can’t make it in time. One thing she knows, is that she needs to get out from this situation no matter what. It seems there might be some sympathy for her situation in this Unda pack, but none will go against their cruel alpha! When help does come, she will be ready and the pack had better watch out for her special abilities coming out. This conflict will turn out badly for some and Janie will soon find another symbol on her body, after her wolf is forced to defend itself and those she loves. She is prophesied to be the one to unite all the packs and I look forward to reading the next book and seeing what becomes of her.
