Archer Turner never thought he’d ever leave his career on an oil rig. Now he finds himself striking a deal with his aunt to take over the family hotel. All he had to do was find a wife.
Archer is returning home, where he can trace his ancestry for hundreds of years. The oil rig he and his siblings worked on is shutting down. It was the same rig his father worked on too, but he is long gone. Archer’s only family apart from his siblings is his cantankerous aged aunt.
If his father were alive, Archer would take over running the hotel. But he’s not, and his aunt, the current owner, is shrewd as she is conniving. The four siblings will inherit the hotel eventually, but Archer needs it now.
His aunt will give them the hotel early if her proviso is met. All four children come home, and Archer marries within one year.
Where the hell would he find a wife willing to marry a man who had oil embedded under his fingernails?
Born and raised in Wales, in a sleepy town just outside Cardiff, Grace developed a love of stationery at a very early age. She still can’t pass a pen shop without nipping in for a quick look around.
Writing and publishing since 2012, Grace has many books in her back catalog, all in the Romance genre. They range from Rock Star Romance to Small Town Romance and Family Sagas. Be warned, her books have a high heat level!
In a nutshell? 21st Century Romance – Writing about understated powerful women. Understated love stories with a powerful message, each and every time.
I have been looking forward to this series coming out and I loved the first book about Archer and Erica ❤️ We met all of Archer's siblings and they will each get their own book in the series.
The oil rig that the Turner's all work on is closing down and they need to decide what to do for work. Archer heads home to Copper Island to speak with his aunt about running part of the family business but she has other plans.........
His aunt is very bitter and everything comes with conditions.
I loved the plot, the characters, the steam was just right 🔥, the backdrop, Archer and Erica. It didn't take me very long to read it because I was invested from the first chapter. Erica is a strong FMC and knows what she wants. It is a fast burn which I don't mind. When you find the one you just know. They are both a good match and I'm sad I finished the book! I want more ❤️
It sets up the siblings stories very nicely and I can't wait to read them all.
Can we also take a hot minute to appreciate how stunning the cover for this book is 🔥🥵🤩 A fantastic start to a new series Grace! ❤️ ❤️
I enjoyed the book but wish Archer and Erica had a nice epilogue. Instead we learn a little bit about the Turner matriarch, Cynthia and perhaps why she’s so cold. But to force Archer into marriage is so strange considering, she couldn’t have known he and Erica would fall in love in the month she gave Archer to find a suitable wife, and three months to marry. I assume we’ll learn more in the next books…
Anyhow, this was about Archer and Erica. As unrealistic as their story is, I absolutely loved Archer. Strong, handsome, responsible, kind, family-minded, just fantastic. And Erica was perfect for him. Their “issues” of not communicating were incredibly stupid and asinine but at least it didn’t last too long. And it ends with an HEA. As I said thought I’m disappointed we didn’t get a glimpse into their happiness (on the honeymoon or in the future) but perhaps they’ll have cameos in the next books. Not sure if I’ll read them yet but perhaps soon.
A fake engagement that leads into a real relationship and eventual marriage for love is not an unusual storyline but the setting and background of the main characters are interestingly different if a bit unbelievable at times. A family running an oil rig!! What I found most strange to the point of spoiling a reasonable book is the ending or should I say the lack of one. The story about Archer and Erica ends abruptly at chapter 42, six more chapters then tell the story of aunt Cynthia 50 years earlier. There is no returning to the present and even Cynthia’s story feels unresolved. I don’t know whether their stories continue in the next book but am prepared to find out through KU. Certainly wouldn’t want to purchase these books.
new to this author and I am already in love with the world she creates
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I downloaded this book after seeing an ad advertised on Facebook however, I knew I wanted to give it a shot. I’m glad that I did. I am used to POV’s of the character instead of a third person, but it didn’t take long to get into. This story was great and I was smiling through that however, the very very end of the book had me sobbing. Just read you’ll understand. Welcome to the world of Copper Island.
Archer and Erica’s story was solid. He’s a perfect hero, family oriented, determined, good looking and loyal. Erica, wounded by her first husband is cautious but ready for love. The Dragon Aunt was a mystery and a bit annoying.
Wow! Misguided people who fall in love with each other while relatives and ex husband try to tear them apart before they realize they are in love with each other.
Reckless Kiss is a delightful blend of small-town charm, family dynamics, and a dash of romantic tension. Archer Turner's unexpected journey from oil rigs to hotel management, under the condition of finding a wife within a year, sets the stage for a heartwarming tale of love and self-discovery.
The story navigates themes of commitment, personal growth, and the complexities of familial expectations, all while keeping readers engaged with its lighthearted tone and engaging plot. If you're in the mood for a feel-good romance that balances humour with heartfelt moments, Reckless Kiss is a charming pick. It's the perfect read for those who appreciate stories about finding love in unexpected places and the importance of embracing life's curveballs.
I absolutely loved reading Reckless Kiss. Usually when I am enjoying a story this much, I am gutted when it ends but actually now, having finished Archer’s story, I’m left excited to learn more about the remaining Turner siblings, and I believe each book in this series will feature them in turn.
Not only does Reckless Kiss have a fabulous storyline but I have loved meeting Archer, Jason, Luke and Daisy Turner. One of the highlights of this story was witnessing how close they are as siblings, and that they are always there and look out for each other. They would do anything to ensure they remain together too. I found this narrative to be a great introduction to this new series, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next for them all.
There was nothing I didn’t love about this storyline and Copper Island - which is the location of where much of what happens in Reckless Kiss takes place. Okay, there may have been one or two characters that we meet who don’t quite fit that statement, but that added something different to Archer and Erica’s story. I loved getting to know both leading characters throughout this book, and I loved witnessing their initial attraction to one another grow. In addition, the settings of this story are described so well that I was able to visualise the scenes perfectly.
I appreciated that this story is told using both Archer and Erica’s POVs as it allowed me to gain a greater understanding of both characters. I highly recommend this story to you to read and award Reckless Kiss 4.5 stars.
