She saved him when he needed her. Now he’ll save her too.

After making a tragic mistake that nearly cost him his brother, his reputation, and his sobriety, playboy Seth Kincaid wants nothing more than to hide the secrets of his past. When he hears that his sometimes-secret fling—and his guardian angel in high-heels—Lacey Sutton is injured, he’s determined to repay her by stepping up to take care of her.

But Lacey is off limits. She’s Seth’s best friend’s little sister.

Even if her sassy banter, wild temper, and gorgeous curves are the best kind of addiction.

Event planner Lacey Sutton has time for only one thing in her life: her job. She doesn’t have time for relationships, or injuries that could cost her the party of the century. And she definitely doesn’t have time for cocky country singers with ocean-blue eyes, broad shoulders, and chiseled jaws.

Love is not on Lacey’s carefully planned agenda. Even if the way Seth looks at her, has her wanting to let him into her guarded heart.

However, their close confines soon transform their attraction from lust to love. But when Seth’s superstardom calls him back to Nashville—and reality—Seth and Lacey must face the truth about themselves and their secrets, or they’ll risk losing what they never knew they needed: each other.

Need You Now is the third book in the Nashville Star series. It’s a full-length second-chance country romance with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a happily-ever-after guaranteed. Content and trigger warnings: references to drug abuse and eating disorders.

I really felt bored with this whole book. It’s probably one of my least favorite in the series. I didn’t feel any chemistry between the characters so it dragged on for me.

While I adore all of the characters in this series, it's Hunter's relaxed, comfortable style that draws me in and immerses in in this world. Color me surprised to find that it's Seth and Lacey who find their forever together! Seth is close to his brother, Luke and best friends with Luke's wife Sal, and Lacey is Sal's sister. So yes, they may be in periodic proximity to each other, but who knew there was more going on?

What others don’t know is that Seth and Lacey have managed to be their for each other during some really low points in their lives. Then there's the part about them periodically hooking up. Sure, it’s casual, but Lacey has managed to work her way into Seth's heart. So when she's at home in Los Angeles and gets hurt, Seth hops on the first plane out of Nashville to take care of her.

And this is where things get interesting. Lacey is strong, determined, and tireless, and even injured she's insisting on making the big celebrity party she’s planning happen. And Seth wants nothing more than for Lacey to heal and rest and let him protect her. Oh boy. It's like adding fuel to the fire, and you know those sparks will eventually ignite. I desperately wanted them to be together, but how do two people make that happen when there's an entire continent between them?

This story is so delicious! Poignantly tender, hot and steamy, and just the right amount of nail-biting angst all perfectly placed for the most amazing reading escape. This phenomenal read is one you definitely won’t want to miss, so run to the 1-Click and fall in love with Seth and Lacey today!

Need you Now is book 3 in the fabulous Nashville Stars series and focusses on band member Seth and his best friend’s little sister Lacey. Ever since reading book 1, I’ve been longing for Seth and Lacey’s story. Their love/hate relationship has always been loaded with the hottest chemistry and I’ve been intrigued to know their backstory.

So what’s it about? When Seth’s secret-fling Lacey is attacked, Seth goes to LA to look after her on the pretence of doing it for his heavily pregnant best friend, and Lacey’s sister Sal. Lacey was there for Seth at his darkest moment, and he wants to return the favour. Neither of them are looking for a relationship and love isn’t on their agenda, but when they’re thrown into close proximity, they start to realise that what they really need is each other . . .

Need You Now is a heart-breakingly beautiful tale about second chances, facing your fears and following your heart. I loved Seth and Lacey’s grumpy/sunshine dynamic, as cheeky, charming, country boy Seth chipped away at California girl Lacey’s ice-queen exterior to reveal her tender heart. I enjoyed this fresh dynamic on the trope as it’s usually the guy who is the grumpy one!

Seth and Lacey are perfect for each other – they’re both a little broken and events from their past have shadowed their ability to open up to others and accept love. They see beyond the public facades they show others – in Lacey’s case it’s her tough, capable and slightly aloof exterior, whilst Seth hides behind his joker image – and they encourage and support each other to face up to their demons and be the best version of themselves. Their journey to love is an exciting, but fraught one, laden with angst, drama and red hot chemistry and I loved every minute of it.

Seth is an absolute sweetheart and despite his star status, he’s adorable, thoughtful and down to earth whilst being insanely hot. I loved how he bulldozed his way into Lacey’s life and apartment to care for her when she most needed someone. One of my favourite parts of the book was when Seth graciously let Lacey put him to task as her event assistant, and he threw himself into it with gusto to help Lacey keep her job. He has stiff competition against Luke and Griff, but his charm and sunny personality have won me over and secured his position as my favourite of the three!

Lacey is wonderfully ambitious, driven, independent, loyal and fiercely protective of Sal and Seth. My heart broke for Lacey at certain points in the story when it’s revealed that she’s always felt like an outsider, having been abandoned by everyone she ever loved, whether than was intentional or not. It was great to see her warm up as the book progressed as she allowed herself to make friendships and be loved.

I enjoyed catching up with the other couples from the previous books and seeing how their lives are progressing. I adore the ‘found family’ dynamic they have and their love for each other really came through in the writing.

As always, there was drama a plenty, and Ava had my heart racing as Lacey and Sal faced a number of challenges. I adored the glamour of the dual LA/Nashville settings of this book and the country music aspect as it was the ultimate escapism from a rainy weekend in Scotland.

Need You Now is a beautiful, opposites attract tale about facing your fears and finding love where you least expect it. If you haven’t already, then you need to check out this series!

Disclosure: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author and/or publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. A positive review is not required.

This review can also be found in Currant7 Recommends.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Trigger Warning: drugs and alcohol abuse, depression, anxiety, mugging, impostor syndrome, bulimic tendencies, fractured/dysfunctional family dynamics

Story: Seth and Lacey's story
POV: first-person, dual-POV; Seth and Lacey

The bad boy of the group, Seth Kinkaid, is showcased in this book. It discusses heavier topics from previous books in the series.

Need You Now's plot is well-paced and developed, though there were moments when I felt it could have been shorter and still would have been effective for me. The characters were honest and raw, mainly based on past books. I appreciate the continuity that helped piece together the character traits and personalities.

I like how readers of the series will get to know Seth and Lacey more this time through intimate conversations and admissions. There is much self-doubt for both characters, which pushes the story longer and more detailed. Both MCs shared heartbreaking backgrounds that impacted them during stressful situations.
It was interesting to see the character development process in these characters, but one more striking is Seth's development to show his emotions to Lacey versus the latter. I must admit that the relationship from friendship to more turned out so cute in the end! I love how Seth was more forthright on his emotions versus Lacey, which is an uncommon trait for a man.

Did all the proclamation of love and devotion help me love the book more? Maybe, but I got frustrated when Lacey jumped two or more steps backward in her commitment to Seth and even to her sister, Sal, at some point. The self-deprecating moments were a sure downer. No matter what anyone said, Lacey wouldn't believe she had so much strength and opportunities as she first realized.

I enjoyed seeing the previous book's characters' relationship with each other even after much turmoil and conflict happened in the past that were controversial and tragic due to being famous.

In conclusion, Need You Now is a slow-burn read, full of angst between two attractive MCs. The enemies-to-friends-to-soulmates theme runs deep in this book. I am glad these two MCs finally got their HEA after much pain and tragedy in each backstory. There are moments of self-doubt, even after much reassurance from everyone around them. It further shows readers how flawed these MCs are and had to work things out within themselves versus depending on others for the solutions outside.

Pros:
- Angst, slow-burn
- Character development is slow but steady
- Better insight of MC through past characters

Cons:
Moment of repetitiveness was a downer at times

“I love that you are messy and wild and dramatic as hell and make me fuckin’ insane. But you’re also silly and kind and so goddamn beautiful inside and out. I love you beyond reason, Lacey.”

Need You Now is book three in the Nashville Stars series by Ava Hunter. This book follows the back and forth, tumultuous relationship between grumpy playboy Seth Kincaid and sassy Cali girl Lacey Sutton. We’ve had snippets of these two throughout the series but now we get to truly dive into not only their character’s individual stories but their fiery relationship together as well.

This book started off with an absolutely wild first few chapters, we see Seth struggling with past addictions and then to make matters worse sweet girl Lacey finds herself alone and hurt after a brutal mugging that leaves her in the hospital. Only she’s not alone for long, Seth Kincaid certified playboy ‘I don’t do feelings’ pretty much drops everything to go be with Lacey in LA to help her recover. This is what he tells Luke and Sal anyway, little do we know that these two are actually very much well acquainted.

They’ve had an on again off again series of secret moments for the past three years, to the knowledge of no one else in the family. These two have kept it hidden well, only seeing each other during special occasions or family emergencies or so we thought. Lacey and Seth have been using each other to release some pent up tension and stress. They were fine to continue to do so but now with the mugging and Seth moving in with Lacey, they’ve found that maybe their flings have turned into something much deeper and meaningful. We are taken through this relationship as it has been and what it’s possibly developing into, we get to see the quiet domestic moments between these two but also the flirty banter and downright filthy bedroom scenes. These two have been right by the other’s side during the best but also the hardest times of their lives and we get to see the impact that this has on them and their relationship.

This book takes you through all the emotions, it will have you giggling, gasping and all out swooning the more you read about these two. If you’re looking for a second chance romance with no third act breakup then this book is for you. The tension between these two is sizzling and I absolutely adore that they get to be themselves and be open about how hard they love each other. It’s a beautiful journey to read about and I can’t wait for the next book, I am loving this series so much right now. Just when you think you couldn’t love this group of lovable misfits more, Ava goes and writes another book about them and I just can’t stop obsessing over them.

I just love the Kincaid brothers so much! Need You Now (Nashville Star #3) is Seth and Lacey’s book and this friends with benefits/secret relationship/enemies sometimes friends to lovers trope is a hit. These two seriously made my heart melt so many times while making me chuckle with their witty banter. Seth is a wild, country music star with irresistible charm and a no nonsense attitude. Lacey is a feisty, independent, hard working event planner with a huge and tender heart who is more than deserving of love.

Seth and Lacey have more in common than they know as they have deep rooted issues which makes their story very emotional and angsty at times. They certainly go through a lot and their emotional growth brings a lot to the storyline. Ms. Hunter has done a wonderful job with creating an enjoyable book with a slow burn aspect that’s well worth it.

*sigh* THE WOMEN IN THIS SERIES GET THE SHIT KICKED OUT OF THEM. I don’t mind high stakes, I don’t mind drama, but for your main lead to both get mugged/stabbed and nearly drown/get hypothermia?! In a series where the other women have been kidnapped MULTIPLE TIMES and shot?! It’s a lot.

That is to say, I did love Lacey and Seth’s dynamic. They’re probably my favorite couple of the series. But I kept throwing my kindle whenever Lacey was manhandled. Sure Seth got knocked off his ATV, but he popped up a minute later totally fine!

And leave poor Sal and Luke alone! They’re supposed to get their happily ever after, but Sal never feels safe!!!!

Seth feels responsible for for his brother being hurt. He’s going down a bad road when Lacey shows up.

They had a moment years ago and things have been strained ever since. When she needs someone he runs to her.

“Let me tell you somethin’, kid. You can’t get far followin’ that lost highway. There ain’t no shame takin’ a beat to figure out what you want.”

Lacey is so wrapped up in her job nothing else matters. She won’t let anything or anybody distracted her.

How do you swim a wave if you’re drowning, Lacey? You break through it. You break it.

This story was about two lost souls who have been trough so much tragedy and them coming together to heal each other. I absolutely love this series. It takes you through so many emotions and leaves you wrung out completely.

I’m so excited for the next book about Jace and Emmy Lou!!

I needed them. Craved them. Waited for them... savored every chapter, every scene... and dear Lord, they made my heart flutter in return! Lacey and Seth are here and my goodness! I didn't want their story to end. One of my most anticipated reads of the year, the most anticipated one of the month and I am 100000% satisfied.

I've been needing Lacey and Seth's story since book 1. The chemistry and connection was there all along and my hunger to know the details of their sexy and heart wrecking story grew with each book. The story was everything I was hoping for and more. It was sexy as hell, heartbreakingly beautiful, romantic and heartwarming and also full of action and suspenseful moments that made me let out a gasp and my heart stop for a few seconds. Ava Hunter does that all the time, she makes me bite my nails for a little and make me swoon just a couple of sentences after.

That being said. I am in love with Seth Kincaid. Luke will always have a place in my heart, so as Griff... but Seth? My goodness, that man is a walking heart. I enjoyed his POV so much and seeing his soul hurt for everyone he cared about. His love for his brother, his beautiful friendship with Sal and the solace and missing piece of his heart he found in Lacey. He had been growing as a character throughout the series, but the place we see him at the end of this book is simply wonderful. His struggles, his guilt, his humanity in general and his need for redemption broke my heart several times and it only made me root for him and his happy ending even more. He had the most selfless and sacrificial love in the world and I loved how Lacey helped him realize all he had to give and also to relieve the weight of his mistakes.

"She's never had a man like this before. So open, so honest. Seth comes to her when she needs him, always making her laugh, feel safe, working hard to be with her. The way he loves her sister, his family─ he's just such a good human."

Lacey was FMC goals! driven, determined, fearless, with a heart of gold. I loved how relatable she was in many ways, like trying to really live her life and not just surviving. Finding the way to finally start working to live instead of living to work. Fearing the unknown but still taking chances and risks to make her life better. I loved how she didn't feel her independence threaten by letting Seth in and help her carry the weight of many of the struggles she faced during the story, it made me crave to see her thriving more and more, not only in her relationship with Seth but also professionally and in her relationship with her sister. I also enjoyed seeing her interacting with Alabama and forming a sweet friendship with her. It filled my heart with joy, since the family is only growing. She was just such a badass, beautiful soul that deserved to be loved by a guy as good as Seth. The love, acceptance and compassion she showed to Seth and everything he was struggling with was the swooniest thing ever. She never once judged him, condemned him, rather, he reassured him till the end and loved him the way he needed to be loved.

"I love that you are messy and wild and dramatic as hell and make me fuckin' insane. But you're also silly and kind and so goddamn beautiful inside and out. And I love that about you." His eye, his voice soften. "I love you beyond reason, Lacey."

Seriously, these two were beyond sweet and romantic, the perfect addition to the family we all have grown to love so much in this series. I enjoyed every single moment they had alone and also with the entire Kincaid clan. The love this family has for each other is so beautiful and perfect. Loved seeing them defending each other, cheer up for one another, creating music together and making the family grow more and more. I truly need to mention how excited I felt getting my Sal and Luke fix in this book. Their happily ever after goes on and it is even more perfect with each book!

I am truly obsessed with the Nashville Star series and I cannot wait for the next book! That teaser was enough to make me anxious in the best of ways.

As always, Ava Hunter gave me the story my hopeful romantic soul needed to read. She's never disappointed me and that's why she's one of my favorites. Can't wait for my paperback to arrive. I need to re-read this entire series soon!

A huge thanks to Ava Hunter for letting me read this beauty in exchange for an honest review.
I'm here for all of your books. Every. Single. One.

3.5 Stars. She is an event planner in LA working double hours to please the un-pleasable. He is the fiddle player in a country band that is struggling with self doubt. She saved him once from himself, he will return the favor and they will need each other more than anything.

Seth Kincaid comes across as a laid back, charming guy but hides his churning insecurities. His brother saved him once from an overdose and he vowed to never be in that place again. His family has been through so much over the past few years and now his beloved brother is hurt and it's Seth's fault. Seth just wants to forget the pain by numbing himself but going down that path again will mean devastating consequences.

Lacey Sutton doesn't have a life, she has a job. A job that has her willing to sacrifice everything to succeed for some influential people. When Lacey is mugged, her sister sends her husband's brother, Seth, to Los Angeles to help her. The history between Lacey and Seth is temporarily forgotten as she recognizes she can't be alone right now.

Seth doesn't hesitate to go to Lacey. Over the years they have secretly been there for each other through the rough times. When he sees her a little broken he finds himself willing to do anything to help her. Lacey doesn't want Seth's help but she does admit it's nice to have him there. They shared a moment in the past, where Lacey realized she could really fall for Seth if she let herself. Now he is here in her space being sweet and she doesn't know if she can keep herself away. For Seth, Lacey annoys him to death but he is drawn to her. Seth's never been a relationship guy but he finds himself wondering if he could be enough for her.

Dual POV, DRAMA, fighters to lovers, seriously, so much DRAMA, open door love scenes. See trigger warnings**

3.5 stars. I anticipated a story for Seth because I loved him in the first two stories. Unfortunately, I never warmed up to Lacey. She was terrible in Sal's story and I knew going in I needed to have a open mind for her character arc. At the end of the day, I didn't like Lacey for Seth even though I did appreciate how sweet they are together. But the character development was a yo-yo experience where whenever someone would do something emotionally brave then something terrible would happen all over again. Just when all the characters were happy here comes another detail to wreck everything. The last minute miscommunication/fight felt completely unnecessary. I enjoyed Seth's perspective and how much he adores Lacey. I just wish they could be happy together for 30 seconds on page without the doubt and drama. Nice HEA and better Epilogue.

It has come to my awareness that I am done with this series. I have zero interest in continuing on with book 4 with Jace and Emmy Lou, partially because I am not a fan of the trope of a broken marriage. But mainly, I cannot trust this author to not rip the rug out from under me as a reader at any given moment. It's like walking on egg shells knowing this author will shoot, drown, kidnap, stab, or attack the beloved characters at any given moment. Nope. I'm out.

**Trigger Warnings: several on page scenes of violence, main and secondary characters getting hurt or abused, fear of miscarriage, drug abuse, vehicle accident.

Title: Need You Now (Nashville Star Series Book 3)
Author: Ava Hunter
Hero/Heroine: Seth & Lacey
Tropes: Friends with Benefits/Best Friends Sister/Only One Bed/Hurt and he takes care of her

TW/CW: Mentions of drug addiction, mentions of an eating disorder, complicated pregnancy, mentions of a mugging/assault

THE GOOD 😀

I’ve been waiting a long time to get the chance to read Seth’s story, and it’s safe to say I wasn’t disappointed. So complex, I loved witnessing his growth as a character, finally realising what and who he wants in his life.
Having spent the last three years in a friends with benefits type situation, Seth and Lacey both realised that their feelings run a lot deeper.
Lacey, Sal’s sister and our feisty heroine, was brilliant, and I loved seeing her come into her own throughout the story, finally having the courage to go after what she wanted. Spending most of her life closing herself off from people for fear of being hurt or losing them, it was great to see her opening up and allowing Seth to get close. When Lacey is attacked and ends up in hospital, Seth flies out to LA to take care of her (swoon!). Refusing to let Lacey push him away, he was a constant presence, making sure that she knew he would always be there for her. This is where the book really came into its own, focusing on the slow progression of their relationship, with both Seth and Lacey learning to trust each other and their feelings.
This story was just one big swoon from beginning to end, especially Seth. I loved the fact that once he admitted how he felt about Lacey, he was all in and nothing was going to change his mind. Lacey, as complex as she was, was also a wonderful heroine; fierce, strong and independent, she was a force to be reckoned with. Both characters weren’t afraid to be vulnerable either, and this for me was what made them extremely likeable.
Need You Now was a wonderful addition to this series and I very much look forward to seeing what happens next with these wonderful group of characters.

THE BAD ☹️

Prentiss. What a jackass. Into the bin he goes.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

I have been looking forward to reading this story since I first heard about it. I started with book 1 and was easily intrigued by Seth and Lacey as side characters.
This book did not disappoint, these two were fantastic together. The author just jumps right in, grabbing your attention and pulling at the heart strings from chapter 1!

My love for Seth and Lacey was instant m, both as individual characters and together! They have had such a whirlwind relationship over the past couple year (shared hidden moments but never admitting their true feelings). I loved their connection, it was one that was so hard to deny, even as they tried!
Lacey puts on such a hard exterior, I love how fierce, strong, hardworking and passionate she is. Seth, is a bit broken, but fiercely protective of his family and friends. He is so kind, genuine and supportive.

The chemistry between them is so strong. I love how Lacey keeps Seth on his toes! Seth loves her with everything, and just the ways she is! Their tenderness and vulnerability melt my heart, very attuned to each other.
These two are defiantly opposites attract, country boy meet California girl, but it makes for some great banter and cute flirtation! The both have trauma in their past, both hurting and heeling, but their growth in the book was wonderful to see as was how their relationship developed.

These two were sure put to the test in this book! Going through all they did, but being there to support one another. There in a lingering feeling l, wondering if it would be enough, and can they truly make this work when they are such opposites? Watching them navigate their feelings and anxiousness made for a wonderful read.

The little family created within the group/band was perfect, they have such strong bonds and loved seeing them all together in this book, getting to catch up with the previous couples was perfect.

This book has me looking forward to the next one, can’t wait to see what this author has in store for that couple!

Since this book is written in 3rd person, I will say it takes a moment to get used to it, but there is a lot of intrigued happening and great characters, so it doesn’t take long!

4.5⭐️

This was a super-angsty read, and I loved every minute of it.

Lacey Sutton and Seth Kincaid share a history. Not only were they on the periphery for their siblings' heartaches and triumphs, but they also shared one night. Not being able to manage their emotions, they swept that night under the rug and went on with their lives.

When Lacey needed someone as she was recovering from an incident, Seth volunteered to take care of her. Cue the close proximity and one bed, and we have two people fighting their emotions and attraction.

Ava Hunter is the Queen of Angst for me. She takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride with Lacey and Seth's story, infusing suspense, action, drama, and spice into the ride. We get very relatable characters who are going through a lot, and we feel for them as they struggle through the adversities. I love their resilience and how they look to their families as the inspiration to be better.

Their connection is phenomenal. I love their established history and the arc of how they kept fighting that attraction. And the spice! There are only a handful of spicy moments, but they make the best of it.

This is the third book in the series, but it reads well as a standalone. Ava Hunter does bring back characters from the previous reads, so if you want to fully embrace who they are, I strongly recommend going back to read Books One and Two.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Ava Hunter for providing an ARC. **

At their best when together, at their worst when apart. If only they could see it….
New You Now (Nashville Stars Book 3) by Ava Hunter is the first book I have read by this author and for me it was a literal deep emotional dive into the characters. Lacey is a master at closing herself off, separating herself from everyone and talking herself into accepting that living to work is the best way to live her life. Seth is in constant doubt but affects an air of irreverence and nonchalance that leads everyone to believe he carefree and happy. Both are so very wrong and prove themselves wrong over time.
This is not a insta-love, fast track love kind of romance. The plot has these two characters fighting themselves and each other constantly. The struggle is real as they slug through negativity, pain and fear. The only real antagonist(s) is themselves! Both Lacey and Seth have demons riding their backs and whispering nasty, negative narratives that creates all kinds of tension. The silver lining through it all is the positive interactions, real conversation and communication that sparks bravery within themselves and for each other. Unfortunately it takes near catastrophe to truly get them there.
Overall, the message I understand from Lacey and Seth's story is that love and hope shines through even during the darkest of times and despite the negative, self-inflicted obstacles encountered. Ultimately, Seth and Lacey are perfect for one another, happier and better selves together than apart. After accepting all that and allowing love to lead the way, their HEA is more than possible once they got out of their own way to make it happen.
I read an ARC of this book via Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.

This is the 3rd instalment of the Nashville stars series and was everything I needed in a romance and more.

It is a heartbreakingly beautiful tale of found Family, second chances, facing your demons and following your heart.

I have become a huge fan of the authors love stories, Seth and Laceys story was not an easy one but so worth it.
The chemistry these two have from book one intrigued me and I was so happy to get to their book, it did not disappoint and hit me with a tone of feels.

These characters are both a little broken but they find comfort and peace with one another that is beautiful to read.

Seth is such a sweetheart, even though he has demons he hides them behind his humour but the way he was determined to take care of Lacey even when she pushes him away had me swooning all over the place.
Lacey is determined not to need anyone and I loved her characters drive, independence and most of all loyalty. But what I loved most was when she opened herself up and showed her vulnerable side. It made this romance pack a punch.

If you've not checked out this book yet, I highly recommend it but I would say, start with book one.
Each have been incredible and the total package for a unmissable binge read.

Ava Hunter’s books are like slipping on a pair of your favorite (gray, duh) sweatpants. Comfy, cozy, but also v sexy.

Need You Know is the third book in the Nashville Star romantic suspense series. We’ve gotten to know Luke’s brother, Seth, and Sal’s sister, Lacey, pretty well over the past couple books… or have we? We’ve definitely seen the sparks fly between the pair, but usually because they are trading barbs. (I think I even messaged Ava after Sal and Luke’s story to verify that she would write Seth and Lacey’s!) Turns out, they’ve been taking out their frustration with each other in… other ways this whole time!

Lacey’s living it up in L.A. as a successful event planner, but a terrifying incident temporarily sidelines her. Her sister is also sidelined, for different reasons, so Sal can’t drop everything to fly out and help Lacey recover.

Seth, however, can. He’s stewing over some poor decisions he made, and decides to take a temporary break from the (superstar country band) Brothers Kincaid to help out Lacey.

Feisty, stubborn Lacey refuses to let Seth in too much, but the longer he stays, the more her resolve starts to crumble.

Ava’s writing goes down as smoothly as good whiskey (presuming you like whiskey!) Her characters feel like family, the steamy scenes are ridiculously satisfying, and the suspenseful parts will keep your jaw dropping. Seth and Lacey’s banter is so easy, and I love Lacey’s sassy wit. The changing settings throughout the book let us live vicariously through characters in L.A., Nashville, and an idyllic Tennessee mountain cabin.

Thanks so much to Ava for letting me read a gifted digital copy! Check it out on KU now!

Oh you guys I absolutely ate this up!
I mean with tropes like: best-friend's sister, small-town and enemies(ish)-to-lovers how could I not?
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I was not a huge fan of Lacey in 'Sing You Home' - cut to my notes where I wrote "eat glass". HOWEVER, this book was absolutely everything I needed and more to fall in love with Lacey (and realise that we're kind of the same). She's tough on the outside but in reality has the softest heart and the quickest wit (the cabin slap will forever live rent free in my mind).
And onto the one and only Seth Kincaid - jheez, I would like a tall glass of him please and thank you. He's so unserious and funny and I just loved the way he poked fun at Lacey and her dramatics. And let's not forget this mans protective streak cause I was simply obsessed.
From the word go, Seth and Lacey were so protective of each other in their own way and I feel like Seth is one of the only people to really see Lacey for who she is. They love each other so fiercely and it is e v e r y t h i n g. They really are each other's number 1 supporters <3
OH, and the caretaking that's throughout this book was just delicious.
Need You Now gave me every single thing I could hope for in a book: tension, angst!!, the softest of soft moments and spice that had me giggling and blushing like a school girl without it being over-the-top descriptive. I pretty much highlighted the entire goddamn book and I regret nothing, your honour.
I think it's safe to say that I absolutely adored this book and I am so so happy to have discovered Ava's writing this year. 10/10 will always recommend to a friend.

What a beautiful and emotional story. I was really excited going into this book because Seth and Lacey have intrigued me a lot throughout this series and I’ve wanted to know all about their story and their dynamic, and let me say I wasn’t disappointed. This exhilarating and emotional riveting country musician romance about redemption, second chances and the healing power of love has the remarkable talented Ava Hunter’s trademark stamp of angst and glory.

The relationship between Seth and Lacey was captivating. The way the burn between them sparked and sizzled as their banter fluctuated between contentious and flirty. Ultimately, I rooted so hard for these two to come together! The palpable battle of wills, and sparkling repartee between Seth and Lacey was electrifying but beneath the razor sharp zingers and molten hot sexual tension lurked a raw emotional honesty and soul affirming connection that truly took my breath away. The deliciously torturous buildup between them kept me on pins and needles throughout…and when the combustible chemistry between these two powder kegs finally combusts it’s a explosive. There was so much delicious angst, so much succulent sweetness, so so much to love - and I did. I loved every minute. My heart is wrecked for these two.

Need You Now is an achingly beautiful, pulse pounding romance that struck every chord in me! I truly adored everything about it—the agony and the ecstasy, the passion and the pathos…the hope and the healing. And the love had my heart literally bursting at the seams! A must read that sets the bar very high.

To say I was excited for this book would be an understatement. I have loved all the other books in this series and this was was no different. I binged this in less than 24hrs. I enjoy the dual POV and it has the perfect amount off all the other characters.

I was rooting for Seth and Lacey from the very first book when you read snippets about them in Sal and Lukes story.

I loved both Seth and Laceys characters. I loved their relationship togother and also there relationships with there siblings and close family. No one is perfect and you saw that in this book. Seth is a recovering addict who has low self esteem and doesnt think he is good for anyone. Lacey is recovering from an ED she suffered with years prior, she has anxiety and I found her character to be very relatable. Both Seth and Laceys pasts have shaped them into who they are today and it was fantastic getting to know there characters. Their character development was spot on, the way their relationship progressed was perfection as well. There relationship took years to get to where it is, it wasn't rushed, it was utter perfection.

I loved everything about this book. I loved the charactes, I loved the events, I loved the drama, I loved the emotions and the relationships, I loved the suspense, I loved the writing style, I loved it all! This book so far is my favourite!

5⭐️/5

I guess that I have been so absorbed in Luke and Sal's story that the idea that something was going on between Seth and Lacey totally passed me by. It seemed to me that they were constantly bickering at each other and that they could never be friends. What a surprise when I found out that they had been hooking up when they needed each other all along

Seth and Lacey have always seemed to be so different that there was no way they could end up together - just shows what I know and how great a writer Ava is! She was able to weave a story around these two lovers that was unexpected, heartbreaking, poignant, hot and steamy and also heartwarming. However low Seth and Lacey got in their lives they always knew that there was someone other than their siblings that they could share their secrets with and who would have their back and as they spend time together after Lacey's accident they also become each other's forever.

Seth's character is much more complex this time, suffering with the guilt of hiding secrets from his brother. Lacey is not the spoiled career girl that I thought her to be, her outward veneer is just a facade that she uses to appear successful and confident and able to do it all while on the inside she is running herself ragged trying to to keep up with the demands of her job for little reward.

Ava has written the perfect slow burn romance in Need You Now. I loved how Seth and Lacey finally come together and how the fears of being outted to their friends and siblings was totally unfounded, as everyone was happy for them. Lacey gets to realise that friends and family and the love of a good man is much more important that a career with no prospects in LA. Seth learns that his brother Luke loves him unconditionally.

What a beautiful story of love, friendships and family that finishes up by introducing a new member of the band!

Thank you so much for the ARC of this book!

Ava Hunter s back again with the next installment of the Nashville Star series and as you might expect, she’s bringing the angst and the drama! Need You Now gives us Seth & Lacey’s story. If you thought Ava would cut Seth & Lacey a break after all she put Sal & Luke through, you’d be wrong 🤣

3 years ago when Sal was missing Lacey turned to Seth for comfort. What was supposed to be a 1 time thing has turned into years of sneaking around. But when one night makes things feel all too real, Lacey takes off back to her home in LA. But when she finds herself alone in a hospital with no one there for her, Seth walks into the room to be with her, she feels like she has found someone who wants to be there for her, flaws and all.

But with Lacey living in LA and Seth in Nashville, Lacey feels like everything is working against her and Seth being together. And Seth is determined to show her that by his side is right where she is meant to be.

Ava Hunter loves to bring the angst and pain for her characters and this book is no different. Even though I typically try to steer clear of super angsty books, I love this series and these characters and I keep coming back for more! Congrats on the new release Ava!

It draws you in:
It took me a bit to get into the flow of this one but I soon found myself immersed in the story. It would be best to be read this as part of the series and I'd recommend not waiting too long between books as it took me a while to recollect who the characters were and what had previously transpired. Unfortunately it was once again written in the first person present tense which was a shame as it made it feel clunky and distracted somewhat from the overall flow of the book. I also found it a bit wordy and wanted to hurry things along at times but there was also a lot of intense danger and drama keeping things exciting.
I enjoyed seeing the strong family and friendship bonds as well as catching up with characters from previous books. Seth and Lacey fought against their attraction and at times were their own worst enemies. They were both broken and hurting in their own way and I enjoyed seeing their personal growth. I now look forward to the upcoming book as I am dying to know who is behind all of the slander and harassment.

I’ve been really looking forward to Seth and Lacey’s story! Ava has outdone herself with this book. It was everything I wanted it to be for them and so much more.

You get to know Seth and Lacey in the previous books in Ava’s Nashville Stars series, and it was amazing getting to know them properly, what makes them tick and why they are the way they are.

Ava’s ability to write delicate subject matter with such care and consideration really highlights just how talented she is. Seth is a recovering addict, and Lacey is recovering from an ED. Both of them suffer from anxiety and feelings of inadequacy. I found both of their characters to be relatable, and I couldn’t help but cheer them on, both individually and together.

I really enjoyed everything in this story, the suspense, the drama, the emotions that really put you through the wringer, and the spicy scenes. I loved seeing their relationship become what it is now, both realising just how deep their feelings for one another truly are.

I loved getting to see characters from previous books and checking in on how they are now.

I can’t wait for Jace and Emmy Lou’s story next!!

Thank you, Ava.♥️

I was curious about Lacey’s character since SYH. She seemed to have a contentious relationship with the Kincaid brothers at the time, and I didn’t like the way they initially treated her. Still, I noticed the chemistry she had with Seth. I always enjoyed their banter. But this time, I also saw a tender side to them. They comforted each other and talked each other up.

Lacey was a bit guarded, but also driven, almost to a fault (look no further than the number of times Seth had to force her to slow down). Much of her journey was learning to open up and find herself, and I’d say she accomplished that.

Seth had a caring heart, as seen by how he went out of his way for Lacey, and would generally go to war for the people he loved. He was hard on himself, which was sad, but I loved that he was able to come to terms with whatever was bothering him.

Apart from some things being told instead of shown, the writing had me hooked. Lots of angst-filled moments, but also heartwarming ones. I got plenty of teasers for Jace and Emmy’s book.

Need You Now is a great addition to the Nashville Star series and the book blurb accurately describes the story. Seth and Lacey have a bit of a complicated relationship but events at the start of the book begin moving them in a direction that neither ever imagined. This story is never boring. Something unexpected is always happening, which keeps this emotional story alive and interesting and impossible to put down. I also love that while the main focus of the book is on the romance of Seth Kincaid and Lacey Sutton, we also get to spend time with characters from the previous books.

The writing is great, the story engaging, and I was completely caught up in the lives of the characters. I loved it. I recommend reading the entire series for the most enjoyment. It is so worth it! #1-Sing You Home; #2-Find You Again; #2.5-Love You Always and then of course the current book, #3-Need You Now. Can't wait for the next book!

It's more than a song. It's her. One he'll sing again and again. For the rest of his life, if he can.

After reading about Seth and Lacey in book 1 (Sing You Home), I couldn't wait for their story. Seth and Lacey gave off the total enemies vibe in the first book of the series and while I wasn't 100% sure they were going to end up together, I was glad that their relationship evolved. After appearing as enemies, their relationship evolved to friends with benefits, to friends, to lovers.

This story is heart wrenching. There is tragedy, there's moments of life-changing secrets revealed, and there's so much character growth.

What's great about this series is that the characters continue to be featured in each book so we never have to say goodbye. It's fun to see how everyone's life is developing.

I have a feeling book 4 will be just as good and reveal even more secrets!

"She always said it was the last time. Until it wasn't. Every time they were together, she fell for him more and more."

Need You Now is my new favorite book of the Nashville Star series! I have loved seeing Seth and Lacey throughout the series and their enemy-ship has had me on the edge of my seat. I'm so glad we finally have their story, and it was so different than what I was expecting from them and I loved it so much. While this book can be read as a complete standalone, I feel like seeing their interactions throughout the series makes this book so much better.

Who knew that Seth and Lacey have been having a casual enemies with benefits relationship this entire time?!?!?! I loved that this book was not a traditional enemies to lovers trope. Because Lacey and Seth have history together, they have familiarity and an established level of intimacy. This makes the forced proximity fast-track everything at a believable pace.

Both Seth and Lacey struggle with their demons and I loved how the pair supported each other unconditionally and were incredibly vulnerable with each other. There was something about them as a couple that I was just really rooting for their happiness together. Even though Seth is grumpy and surly, he is incredibly tender and sweet with Lacey. Lacey is strong and sassy, so it was a treat watching her emotional walls come down.

While there is still some aspects of suspense, it's not quite as intense as the rest of the series. There are so many fun moments that made me smile, especially when you see all the couples together in the Smoky Mountains. There are some heavier topics, so please pay attention to content warnings (drug addiction, eating disorder, violence).

Need You Now is available now.

This was a hell of a ride. Mostly because I took so much time to read it. Half way though the book I got so bored that I couldn’t even read one page. Spoiler alert. It wasn’t the book, it was simply me.
Got out of the book SLUMB and really really enjoyed continuing the story.
Seth and Lacey are definitely different from Sal and Luke. I felt so much angst between them, especially from Lacey. Their chemistry and banter got sorted out really fast since they started dating like half though the book? I’m so happy for them being in the position they are. Happy and adorable together. Although I expected more… hate and slow burn.
Both of them in a relationship definitely complete each other. I noticed that Seth is a big big softie for his woman and even tho he tries to hide it. He. Just. Cant. I love how protective he is of her and the fact he initiated help for Lacey. He took such good care of her while she was sick.
Lacey has her ups and downs, but deep down she is a sweet caring person that does everything for the ones she loves. Her thoughts about the whole relationship with Seth, her struggles and worries, were so real you can’t not love her. I loved to see the development between them, especially in talking about problems and admitting to their wrong parts.

The Nashville Star Series has been one of my favorites and I couldn’t wait to read Book 3. This is Seth and Lacey’s story and it did not disappoint! I have been a fan of these two characters since Book 1. Both are beautifully lost souls, going through the motions, but not really finding their joy. Seth has his music and loves being part of the band. Lacey is a much sought after party planner in L.A. and keeps herself busy. A family emergency brings them together again and the results are what a fan of this author lives for. Ava Hunter writes the sexiest, smartest, most brilliant love stories with characters that will melt your heart, and book boyfriends that leave you breathless. This story was amazing. You may suffer a bit of book hangover, but that’s a risk worth taking when you read a book this good.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 3rd book in the Nashville Star series. Each book can be read as a standalone.
This book is a best friends little sister romance with a HEA ending.
Lacey is an event planner in LA. She works nonstop for her customers. One late night request almost cost her her life and now her job is in jeopardy. Seth comes to her rescue even if he is the last person she thinks can help.
Seth is best friends with Sal. With Sal being on bedrest and her sister Lacey in the hospital, he volunteers to go to LA and check on her. He quickly realizes his over night stay is going to be longer because the stubborn woman will not take a break.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the banter between these two. However, this one was not a favorite of the series.
