Thank you PRHAudio for the complimentary audiobook!

My toddler and I listened to this audiobook together at bedtime. A wonderful sister-sister story. Older sister Cat is moving out of the shared room with her younger sister Tina to sleep in her big girl room. Cat comforts Tina with all of her stuffed animals and a poem because Tina feels scared to sleep without her big sister in the room. As Tina drifted off to sleep, Cat walked to her big girl room to sleep on her own. Thunder rolled in loudly and lightning flashed, it was Tina's turn to comfort Cat with the stuffed animals and the poem. In the end, they slept together in Cat's big girl room so it defeats the purpose of sleeping separately but the idea was good. Maybe the next night they will sleep separately.

A sweet book about sisters and their love for each other. I remember moving my own daughters into separate rooms and the youngest would always wake up in the oldests room so I found this book to be incredibly relevant. The illustrations were beautiful, bright and well done and the theme of the story is strong. This belongs on the bookshelf of any sisters.

Thank you so much Penguins Kids for gifting me a copy to review.

The book is a tribute to the author's relationship with her sister. When Kat moves into a "big girl" room, her little sister, Tina, is scared to go to bed. So, Kat gives Tina all her stuffed animals to help her sleep. But when a storm comes, Kat realizes she may need some comfort too.

This book and the relationship between the two girls in this book is based off the fact that even if you're the oldest sibling, sometimes getting a hug from your younger sibling is what you need to get through something scary. This story is all about sisterhood, but it's also about the bond we can have with a sibling and the importance of having somebody you can turn to when you need extra help.

This was a really sweet book about the sister bond. Since we have two daughters, I grabbed this when I saw it at the library. Our youngest in particular, always love comparing herself to the characters in the book: "That's me, and that's *older sister*".

The story is about the older sister getting her own big girl room and the younger sister being worried about not having her in the room anymore. Her older sister helps her feel better with a special rhyme and her old stuffed animals. What I particularly liked were the illustrations depicting all the instances where each stuffy helped her accomplish something (either fear, creativity, sadness, etc).

The story ends very sweetly with the younger sister comforting the older sister and shows just how strong that sister bond is. I really enjoyed this story and so did my daughters. The illustrations were very appealing. I liked the colors used and everything was soft, which worked really well for a bedtime book.

If I ever found this book at a book sale, I'd probably pick it up. It's very relatable for sisters.

Bonus: The author is Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt - Arnie's daughter and Chris Pratt's wife! We might check out her other children's books to see if they hold up as well.

First sentence: Kat sits on the floor of her bedroom. Her new room, which will be just for her. She slides on her pink fluffy slippers and looks up at her younger sister. "Tina," she says, "tonight I get to sleep in my big girl room for the very first time!"

Premise/plot: Kat and Tina are sisters. Kat has a new 'big girl' room. Tina remains behind in their old room. She's nervous about sleeping alone. Kat is confident that Tina will be okay. She even gifts her all her old stuffed animals. [There's a cheese-ful rhyme]. But when a thunder storm comes, whom will comfort whom????

My thoughts: I liked the premise. It felt relatable. It can be a big adjustment to go from sharing a room to NOT. The text is all cheese. It's certainly serviceable. It's not awful. It's just not super-fantastic. Definitely feels a bit Full House-ish.

I give the story 3 stars, execution/writing 1 star, and the illustrations 4 stars. The review below is opinion not fact. Reviews are for readers.

Perhaps this is coincidental, but the style and characters just seemed very similar to the illustrations in Sisters First by the Bush Sister (ft. Ramona Kaulitzki). Obviously it wasn't identical and certainly not enough to be considered infringement. I am not alleging anything, I'm just making an observation that they were similar. Regardless, the illustrations were beautiful and sweet. Lucy Fleming cooked.

Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt did not serve. The story overall was not unique. It's been covered. If you take an idea, improve upon it. The writing was very "adult writes children's book" and didn't seem written with children in mind. The rhyming was mid. The song/poem(?) was cheesy. My opinion.

The text is not my favorite but I do like the overall story, especially the twist at the end. Also, the illustrations are quite cute. As a huge stuffed animal fan myself (as a child I slept with 4 on most nights and probably called in reinforcements on the nights I was really scared), I really liked the theme of the story and how they can help you. I also liked how each stuffed animal had a different strength/what they were best helping with (giving courage, being silly, bestowing creativity, etc.).

𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 is such a sweet book. Although I didn’t have a sister, I did have a fear of nighttime. But it was my stuffies that kept me company, just like Kat introduced her sister Tina to her stuffie friends. The illustrations are beautiful, with soft colors and kind little animal friends. A wonderful story about courage and sisterly love.

This was kind of wordy and not super interesting. An older sister is moving into a new room, so she leaves all her stuffed animals with her younger sister to comfort her. The illustrations were a little busy.
