Christmas Comfort Foods
The scent of sugar cookies baking, the sweet sound of children singing carols, a crackling fire in the fireplace...these are some of our favorite comforts at Christmas, and we can't wait until it's that time again!
For Christmas Comfort Foods, we've gathered scrumptious recipes for all occasions. Invite friends to a holiday brunch, with Spinach & Swiss Quiche and Pineapple-Nut Coffee Cake on the buffet...yum! Or host an afternoon open house, serving up delicious Brown Sugar Sausages, Roasted Red Pepper Dip and everyone's favorite, Classic Party Mix.
For busy weeknights, you'll find warm and hearty dishes like Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry, Aunt Barb's Pizza Casserole and Easy Turkey Tacos. Slow-Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup is perfect for taking the chill off on a frosty day. And for special family gatherings, a menu of Braised Pork Roast with Onion Gravy, Grandma Miller’s Waldorf Salad and Mom's Baked Corn will help you create happy memories together.
Sweets are what we really look forward to at Christmas, though! Tie on your apron and bake up a batch of German Chocolate Brownies, Coconut Macaroons or jam-filled Thumbprint Cookies. Gram’s Gingerbread & Pear Cobbler and Warm Winter Lemon Cake are special enough for holiday dinners, yet easy enough for weeknights. What are you waiting for?
We've included easy-to-follow directions using familiar ingredients, plus tips for every holiday occasion and a collection of sweet Christmas memories.

I returned to read this book, although I shelved it for some time. That's what I tend to do with recipe books. But it's the season again - a good time to return to the book. It's a good recipe book. What I love are the cookies! A short time is all it takes to make a batch of cookies. I'm sure children and young people would be delighted with the treats. Thanks for the book.
But in some ways, I've changed. While working on my science education research and writing papers, I read research by Dr. William Li, Dr. Valter Longo, and several other vegan doctors. I removed processed foods from my diet and reduced my baking activities. I learned to be careful to eat whole food plant-based meals, but I still eat some fish and eggs. That's what my Learning did to me.
I wish you all a blessed Christmas 2023 and a Bountiful 2024. I have a post on my FB to share with you about a baking activity. [I used to bake cookies for Christmas gifts some years ago: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... ]
Thanks to God for His mercies (Psalm 136).

I am so excited to have three of my family’s favorite recipes published in this Gooseberry Patch Cookbook. I have been collecting their cookbooks for 20 years and I use them all the time. I enjoy reading the stories and looking at the artwork. It is a great way to relax at night. The problem is that I get hungry when I read the wonderful recipes. I have a long list of recipes that I want to try this year. I am sure that I won’t have a problem finding friends to share the sweet treats with. Gooseberry Patch cookbooks are a wonderful gift to give to friends and family. It is a gift that keeps on giving.

Some really great holiday recipes!
Full of delicious traditional holiday recipes, including entrees, sides, salads, cakes, cookies, dips, and nonalcoholic drinks. It also includes fond holiday memories. A great little cookbook to get you in the Christmas spirit! Would make a very thoughtful gift.

I like the sweet recipes in this book more than the savory ones.
